A Smorgasbord Blab about Postpartum Hemorrhage Indie Birth

I did a new thing this past week, which is I recorded this podcast live on Youtube. Youll hear other peoples questions, and some more thoughts and pondering on how to label postpartum hemorrhage, the rates of hemorrhage in my own practice (hint; its super duper low) and other ideas to consider when excess bleeding []

Can Men Take Prenatal Vitamins? | 5 Important Ingredients Fiona Peacock BellyBelly

When considering starting a family, many men become more conscious of their health. Some couples try to improve their health before trying for a baby. They might switch to a healthier diet, increase their exercise and focus on maintaining a healthy weight. Some men take prenatal vitamins to help things along.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend women consume 4,000 mcg of folic acid each day for one month before becoming pregnant and through the first three months of pregnancy. Women start taking prenatal vitamins when they find out theyre pregnant; many begin taking them sooner.

If your partner is starting to take a daily vitamin containing folic acid, you might wonder whether you should take a daily supplement, too.

Keep reading to find out whether men should be taking daily vitamins while trying to conceive.

What are prenatal vitamins for men?

Male prenatal vitamins are designed to aid male fertility, improve sperm quality and ensure good reproductive health when trying to conceive. Unlike prenatal vitamins specifically designed for women, prenatal vitamins for men are not intended to be taken for the duration of the pregnancy.

When it comes to male health, the important work is done before conception.

Should men take prenatal vitamins?

Yes, men should take prenatal vitamins before conceiving a child. Thanks to science, we now know that male reproductive health plays a vital role in the time it takes to conceive. Men should take male fertility vitamin supplements to make sure they are as healthy as they can be when its time to have a baby.

Men shouldnt take traditional prenatal vitamins formulated for women, however, as they dont contain the right mix of vitamins and minerals to improve semen quality, protect sperm and improve sperm fertility. Prenatal vitamins for women often contain iron, which can cause digestive problems and is best avoided unless needed.

When should I start taking a mens prenatal vitamin?

Men should begin taking prenatal or fertility vitamins as soon as they decide to start trying for a baby. Ideally, you should start taking prenatal vitamins a few months before trying to conceive. The sooner you start taking male fertility supplements, the longer they will have to work.

It is thought to take about 74 days to create sperm from start to finish. That means your health at 74 days before conception plays a vital role in sperm health. In an ideal world, you would start taking supplements to support male fertility at least 74 days before conception.

The timing wont always work out, but its worth taking supplements when you plan to start a family.

Seven useful words for the birth room Dr Sara Wickham

When Nadine Edwards and I were updating Birthing Your Placenta, she reminded me of some really useful words for the birth room.

Its a phrase thats useful for almost anyone who cares about the decision-making autonomy of birthing women.

That might include partners, family members or friends, midwives, doctors, student midwives or doulas.

Anyone, in fact, who might be present during labour or birth.

The main reason this sentence is useful is because of something that happens frequently in birth rooms and often feels difficult.

Someone suggests something to the woman which you know contradicts something that was in her birth plan.

You suspect she might not really want it, and/or that might not be in her best interests.

You may or not be right, of course, and you know she might have changed her mind, but youve got the womans interests at heart and want to check.

But the woman is in the middle of labour or birth.

Maybe shes feeling vulnerable, or tired, or in pain.

Or all of the above.

She might not feel as able to express her wishes as well as usual. She might not have even heard the question, or realised its implications.

You want to help, but you dont want to undermine the person who has asked her, and you want to keep a good atmosphere in the room.

What could you say?

They Tried To Censor The Sound Of Freedom With An Air Horn "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

There I was sitting in the movie theatre trying to watch Sound of Freedom, when I heard the sound of an air horn.

Bwaam! Bom-bom-bom-bom-bwaam!

Jim Caviezel, who plays Tim Ballard, the agent who saves the children, had just appeared. I could not believe what I heard. But there it was again.

Bwaam! Bom-bom-bom-bom-bwaam! Bwaam!

Certainly, someone in the theatre would stop this sound. Others would complain and tell the staff to figure out who or what was making that noise.

I had read reports about theatre chains across America that were censoring this movie. So many businesses have fallen for the Biden Mafias wokification and antifa mobology. I thought of this suppression.

As Jim Caviezel was pretending to be a pedophile (Jim is not one, and I can tell cause I can look at someone and know), I heard the sound once more.

Bwaam! Bom-bom-bom-bom-bwaam! Bom-bom-bom! Bwaam!

Each time it lasted a bit longer. Nobody in the theatre moved. I dont know how they could think this was part of the movie.

Someone, perhaps a theatre manager or a shapeshifting chaos agent deputized by Hunter Biden, was behind it. I knew I was being targeted because of my recent posts on Twitter warning everyone that Kamala Harris has replaced Joe Biden with Doug, her husband, and he wears Bidens face. (We dont really ever see Doug and Joe together.)

Normally, at this WMV theatre in Sunnydale, California, a person will check on how the movie is doing. They did not send anybody. After I jotted down some notes about the child sex club in Thailand (for a project), I went to get a manager.

What I told the front desk was that there was an infiltrator trying to drive people away from the movie. The infiltrator especially wanted anyone who was open to learning about criminal pedophile rings to leave. Anyone who was closed off to this issue would not hear the blare of the horn.

There are all kinds of scientific studies about how you can condition people to pick up certain auditory sensations. It can be different if you are a pedophobe. Or think about women with newborns who have just eaten the placenta after their birth.

I returned to my seat. The manager stood near the exit. Just as I expected whoever was making the noise was no longer doing it. Then the manager left, and I heard it again.

Bwaam! Bom-bom-bom-bom-bwaam! Bwaam!

Bwaam! Bom-bom-bom-bom-bwaam! Bom-bom-bom! Bwaam!

Bwaam! Bom-bom-bom-bom-bwaam! Bwaam!

Moving row to row, I tried to identify who the person was with the air horn. The theatre was not helpful. I wa...

Apocynin ameliorates monosodium glutamate induced testis damage. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

n/a PMID:  Life (Basel). 2023 Mar 17 ;13(3). Epub 2023 Mar 17. PMID: 36983977 Abstract Title:  Apocynin Ameliorates Monosodium Glutamate Induced Testis Damage by Impaired Blood-Testis Barrier and Oxidative Stress Parameters. Abstract:  BACKGROUND: the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of apocynin (APO) on hormone levels, the blood-testis barrier, and oxidative biomarkers in monosodium glutamate (MSG) induced testicular degeneration. METHODS: Sprague Dawley male rats (150-200 g; n = 32) were randomly distributed into four groups: control, APO, MSG, and MSG + APO. MSG and MSG + APO groups were administered MSG (120 mg/kg) for 28 days. Moreover, the APO and MSG + APO groups received APO (25 mg/kg) during the last five days of the experiment. All administrations were via oral gavage. Finally, biochemical analyses were performed based on the determination of testosterone, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), and superoxide dismutase (SOD), as well as light and transmission electron microscopic examinations, assessment of sperm parameters, ZO-1, occludin, NOX-2, and TUNEL immunohistochemistry were evaluated. RESULTS: MSG increased both the oxidative stress level and apoptosis, decreased cell proliferation, and caused degeneration in testis morphology including in the blood-testis barrier. Administration of apocynin reversed all the deteriorated morphological and biochemical parameters in the MSG + APO group. CONCLUSIONS: apocynin is considered to prevent testicular degeneration by maintaining the integrity of the blood-testis barrier with balanced hormone and oxidant/antioxidant levels.

The Lost Patients of Washingtons Abandoned Psychiatric Hospital "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From The Seattle Times: Lillian Massie pinches the floppy brim of her hat between her fingers and stares at the camera. At 24 years old, Lillian is a mother to two children. Shes slim, with wavy hair cropped at the ears and is once again pregnant or has possibly just given birth to a third child. She stands on what appears to be a train platform, a belt cinched above her belly. Sun washes over her face. Its 1925, and this is the last known photograph ever taken of her.

For the next nine years until her death, Lillian will be confined at Northern State Hospital, the now-shuttered Washington mental institution folded into a lush valley enclosed by dark mountain peaks an hours drive north of Seattle.

. . . Northern State Hospital took in tens of thousands of people like Lillian, most from the Seattle area. Today, theres scant evidence these patients ever existed. But as the 50-year anniversary of Northern States closure approaches this summer, family members and neighbors of the abandoned institution are fighting to recover them.

. . . Much of the country is now considering a push for more psychiatric care to get people off the street, such as Californias and New York Citys plans to expand involuntary treatment. Some fed up with the current mental health system look to places like Northern State with nostalgia. Many others see institutions as prisons for people with mental illnesses.

Between the two narratives are missing graves and ghost stories.

Situational Awareness "IndyWatch Feed World"

"All across the board, illness, disability, cancer, heart, autism, fertility...WeFkdUp !!!" The Ethical Skeptic on Twitter What if Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche is correct? The Dutch virologist said at the outset of the Covid-19 episode in 2020 that vaccinating the world in the midst of an epidemic was insane because it would train the virus to evolve more dangerously while disabling human immune systems. Last week he issued a warning that the world was within weeks of just such a new and deadly immune escape variant outbreak that would bring on a shocking wave of sickness and death among people who received multiple Covid-19 vaccinations. This would happen on top of an already accelerating rise in latent vaccine adverse reactions manifesting as aggressive cancers, blood disorders, cardiac injury, neurological disease, and much, much more. To this point in the Covid-19 story, Western Civ in general, and the USA in particular, have descended into an epic group psychosis as a result of...

Lower Birth Weight for Twins Linked to Neurodevelopmental Conditions "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Association Discovered in Identical Twins Only, Not in Fraternal Twins

A recent Swedish case-control study discovered that lower birth weight was significantly associated with neurodevelopmental conditions (NDCs), such as autism and intellectual disability (ID), among monozygotic twins. However, the same association was not found in dizygotic twins. Within the monozygotic pairs, the twin with a higher birth weight had fewer symptoms of autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), higher IQ ratings, and lower odds of being diagnosed with autism and ADHD. These findings suggest that as an indicator of fetal growth alterations, lower birth weight is a nonshared environment (NSE) factor for neurodivergent outcomes, including both symptoms or diagnoses of autism, ADHD, and ID. Since this link was observed only among the monozygotic twin pairs, a genetic confounding component of the association, besides the nonshared factor, was also apparent. The authors point out, given the link between low birth weight and future NDCs, it is important to acknowledge birth weight as influential when assessing identical twins neurodevelopment. Additionally, they suggest that it is essential to recognize early identification of factors with identical twins that contribute to fetal growth restriction, such as unequal placental sharing, unbalanced intertwin blood transfusion, or slow intertwin blood transfusion. If these conditions are discovered, fetoscopic laser treatments should be considered to minimize detrimental outcomes. The authors end their study by calling for more research to obtain greater knowledge and understanding of the associations between low birth weight a...
