The 2018 Outsider Art Fair, a Preview "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Susan Te Kahurangi King, Untitled (circa 1965), graphite and colored pencil on paper, 11.5 x 16 x 4 inches (photo courtesy of the artist, Chris Byrne, and Andrew Edlin Gallery)

As the Outsider Art Fair which opens next Thursday, January 18, and runs through Sunday, January 21 rolls into town, the specialized sector it celebrates has plenty to crow about, even as debates about certain provocative aesthetic issues course through it, some at a simmer and some, typically, at a raging boil.

Not the least of these discussions, even after many decades, concerns exactly what to call the kind of art that is its focus: it is made by autodidacts situated, by choice or circumstance, on the margins of mainstream culture and society. Art brut, outsider art, visionary art, intuitive art each of these terms has been used to label it but each one is nuanced. As a result, the awkward-sounding self-taught art has become a catch-all label, mostly in the US (it is less often used in Europe). So, too, has outsider art, although it does evoke a more substantive history of pioneering research and aesthetic delectation.

All Sam's Club stores in Alaska are closing "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The stores shut down early today and will open tomorrow @10AM local.

The stores will shut - permanently - on 26 Jan, 2018. 64 other stores in other States are being shuttered as well.

Guess tomorrow I'll be in stocking up on paper goods, tea and other non-shelf-life items. This hurts - given the cost of living in Alaska.

Another sign the ship is really sinking here?

The Cosmic Utopianism of Two Fin-de-Sicle Collectives "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Tony Conrad, Fair Ground Electric Horn (2003), large funnel, hose clamps, copper tubing, metal mouthpiece, 182 x 121.5 x 55.9 cm, installation view, Galerie Buchholz, New York 2017 (all images courtesy Galerie Buchholz, Berlin/Cologne/New York)

In his Nobel Prize-winning novel The Glass Bead Game (1943), Hermann Hesse writes,

For we do not regard even the perfect hierarchy, the most harmonious organization, as a machine put together out of lifeless units that count for nothing in themselves, but as a living body, formed of parts and animated by organs which possess their own nature and freedom.

Cosmic Communities: Coming Out Into Outer Space Homofuturism, Applied Psychedelia & Magic Connectivity at Galerie Buchholz on the Upper East Side takes the living body of early 20th-century utopian intellectual communities as its starting point. Organized by cultural historian Diedrich Diederichsen and the gallerys Christopher Mller, the exhibition brings together art and ephemera spanning the 20th century, anchored by two German literary and intellectual groups from the fin-de-sicle period: the circle of Symbolist poet Stefan George, and Ugrino, the polyamorous community headed by writer Hans Henny Jahnn.

George (1868-1933), a political reactionary whose work was adopted by the Nazis for his advocacy of self-sacrifice and his belief in a secret, true Germany, was at the center of the George-Kreis, an academic circle modeled on classic Greek organizations. Although George was celibate, the Hellenic principle of man-boy love permeated his circle and work.

Stefan George, installation view, Galerie Buchholz, New York 2017

In the exhibition, a small collection of ephemera by and about George includes his book Maximin: ein Gedenkbuch (A Memorial Book1907), dedicated to his friend Maximilian Kronberger, as well as a drawing (c. 1900) and matching 1908 etching by Marcus Behmer, Georges follower and a member of one of the worlds first homosexual organizations. Both of Behmers works are called Prometheus (the latter, Prometheus (Stefan George))

The curators sharply contrast Behmers charming, f...

Our Sexualized Culture and The Prejudiced Roots of Psychiatry "IndyWatch Feed Health"

We live in a sex-normativity scenario incapable of challenging clichd phrases like sex is health.'

~Vivyane Garbelini, Asexuality: Recognizing the Invisible

Asexuality Pride Flag

Prejudice is inseparable from the roots of psychiatry. If a diagnosis is an avenue in which the world can perceive a sick mind, an illness, then this means all with a mind are dictated by the psychiatric systems threshold: every behavior, every thought, every action. The psychiatric system decides whether or not you can trust yourself or if anyone can trust you. The psychiatric system decides what communities of people are deserving of socioeconomic exile, isolation, and physical detainment. The psychiatric systems roots and origins are of white, cisgender, heterosexual, Christian men supporting the maintenance of dictatorship for this group of people and this group of people alone. All others under its traumatic widespread prejudice are conditioned to live as a form of sub-humanity and/or object. The entire history of psychiatry stands on proving the intellectual inferiority of black people, women, and queer people.

When Your Antidepressant Isnt as Safe as You Think "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this piece for Psych Central, Dr. Viatcheslav Wlassoff discusses some of the safety issues and adverse effects of antidepressants.

When it comes to side effects, anticholinergic side effects like dryness of mouth, blurring of vision, and dizziness are common with most antidepressants. Most of them may also alter appetite and sexual function, and cause an upset stomach, joint and muscular pains, problems with drug interactions, irritability, mood changes, movement disorders and the risk of falling in the elderly, and much more. Moreover, these side effects continue to persist when the drugs are used long term.

The development of tolerance and withdrawal symptoms are widespread. Discontinuation syndrome can be really bad in many cases.

I could no longer laugh. Life seemed to just pass me by, untouched; I felt absolutely nothing. Apparently, Im not the only one. One survey by the University of Oxford found that 46 per cent of patients receiving antidepressant medication for depression can experience whats known as emotional blunting, a condition of reduced emotional reactivity.

For New Readers ~ Importance of Revoking Contracts with Dark Forces "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

TZ here: Cobra and the Resistance Movement have reminded us years ago of the importance of annulling any contracts that we as Lightworkers might have with dark forces. We could have had these contracts and yet be quite unaware of them. They could have been contracts that we felt forced to agree with, to survive in some earlier incarnation, or possibly have agreed to between lives, where archons and their minions have also been controlling and manipulating us, posing as light beings. So, whatever whenever these contracts might have been made we do not want them now! We can revoke them now on all timelines, all dimensions, past present and future. So, IF you read this and have not decreed aloud (write down if it feels stronger) that you wish to end all negative contracts to be the free sovereign being that you are then I strongly suggest that you do so now. Please spread this information to anyone that you know that might be in need of it.

4 Big Ways Snow Can Benefit the Garden "IndyWatch Feed Food"

All of the snow accumulation from the extreme temperatures occurring through the country could be doing your garden some good. That right, folks snow is great for the garden!

Snow insulates plants and trees

Snow cover protects plants from harsh, drying winter winds which can freeze the ground and damage the root systems of shrubs and trees. In fact, without snow, cold weather could freeze the soil and further damage root systems in trees. You could say that snow it acts like an insulating blanket, and in wintertime, who doesnt want an insulating blanket to stay warm? It works by trapping pockets of air that hold in heat for the plants. Mother Nature is a wondrous thing!

Beneath one foot of snow, the soil and the organisms within it are protected from changes in the air temperature above the snow surface. The moist surface of snow influences how much heat and moisture circulate between the ground and the atmosphere. For every inch of snow, you get 1 R-value of insulation. (R-value is a way to measure insulation). Although the R-value can vary with the type of snow, you can get a good idea of how insulating this really is to the garden.

Snow adds nutrients to the soil in the spring

The University of New Hampshires Department of Natural Sciences states that snow contains nutrients that penetrate into the soil and does some good for the plants that will grow in that soil later on in the year. Nutrients include nitrogen (most prevalent), along with some sulfur and other trace elements. Studies even claim there are more of these nutrients bound up in snow than in the corresponding amount of rain.

Snow adds a slow release of moisture

Snow is also a slow release moisture source. It sits on the ground and melts slow enough that the moisture has time to soak more deeply and thoroughly into the soil. This is especially good for perennials and spring emerging bulbs. As well, snow acts as mulch over your garden, conserving moisture and providing some winter protection.

Snow increases activity in some beneficial microorganisms

The University of Colorado in Boulder reported certain organisms get more active under snow and break down plant litter such as leaves and grass clippings, making more of the nutrients from that debris available for plant growth in the spring. As well, if the ground has not frozen over, roots will continue to grow and earthworms and bacteria in the soil will continue to turn garden debris into beneficial compost. You can increase these various benefits by shoveling sidewalk and driveway snow to areas of the garden that will eventually benefit from the added moisture and nutrien...

What Your Eye Color Reveals About You, According to Science "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

While it has been said that the eyes are the window to the soul, it turns out that they are much more than that.   The eyes are far more amazing than we give them credit for.

We take our eyes and our sight for granted. There are tons of people across the world who are blind, some of which were born that way and have never seen anything ever. Could you imagine? I believe it would be worse to lose your sight as you would know exactly what you were missing out on.

That being said, there have been quite a few studies done on the eyes and what each color may mean for those with eyes of that kind. Have you ever wondered what the color of your eyes might entail? Science may be able to tell you just that.

According to researchers from Pittsburgh University women who have lighter colored eyes, meaning blue or green, tend to experience less pain during childbirth. This sort of thing all relates back to our genetics. Another set of researchers at the Georgia State University took the time to survey over 12,000 men and women, they found that those with lighter eyes consumed more alcohol on a significant level than those with dark eyes. It seems darker eyes people need less alcohol to become intoxicated.

This is especially interesting considering years after that was determined it was also found those with blue eyes were at an increased risk of becoming alcohol dependent. This research coming from the University of Vermont, they found that within a sample of 1,263 European-Americans alcohol dependence was obviously more prevalent among those with light eyes. This study also noted a significant interaction between genes for eye color and genes associated with alcohol dependence.

Dr. Anthony Fallone of Edinburgh University who has been studying the links between our eyes and our personalities has said on many occasions that the eyes are quite closely linked neurologically to our brains. He claims that our eyes hold very important clues to our brain functioning in general. For instance, those with darker eyes are often more agreeable than those with lighter eyes and those with darker eyes also tend to be better at sports.

While you may not think about these things often it is interesting to really learn about. The melanin in our eyes does a lot more than we realize. For more insight into our eyes and the things that they may indicate for us depending on our eye color check out the video below. What do you...

Google moves into analogue market with launch of Google Pen "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Google penInternet giant Google has begun a foray into the parts of the world as yet unavailable to them with the launch of a pen which records your handwriting and sends the information you provide back to the Googleplex in California.

The pen uses motion sensors and sophisticated algorithms to capture the users movements when writing, translates them into readable digital data and posts them back to Googles servers via the nearest available Wi-Fi port. Its viability has only become possible after Google realised it had accidentally and inadvertantly recorded every available wireless connection in the world as the Street View cars went around taking pictures of your house.

The pens will be sent out in their millions to every known postcode and will be branded with the Google logo which, through clever electronic trickery, will change every few days into a new Google doodle to keep scribblers and doodlers interested in using them.

The analogue field is not something which weve been able to reach but now that we are able to access handwritten thoughts we can truly tailor your real-world experience to provide suitable advertisments which reflect your needs as a consumer. Weve hooked up with all the major retailers so, say youre writing a shopping list on a piece of paper, the Google pen will record your requests and a new system of billboards and mind control in the analogue physical environment of your supermarket will point you in the direction of the best purchase of the day, which we think is terrific for all sorts of reasons, grinned Google chief executives Sergei Brin and Larry Page.

On the Google plus side, the pen is claimed to provide a faster scribbling experience than any other mode of paper-based, dextrous, anologue notation. Its the best, fastest, smoothest pen on the market, the company claims, and also, they say, seemlessly ties your thoughts in with your social network which makes putting everything you do on line sooo much easier. But, Google admits, the pen will need to update itself in the background from time to time and handwriting may be slower during those periods as a result.

The pen will be introduced in time for users to sign up for the new Google privacy policy on March 1st. Weve learnt a lot from phone hacking and now will only allow you to use Google systems if we have your complete consent to read your emails, identify your physical location and monitor connections with people who are dearest to you, and use that information for whatever purpose we want, said Mr Page.

JCO: A Solution to Brewing ICO-palypse "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) have been under steadily increasing scrutiny by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), leaving many companies and would-be investors wondering if they should risk getting into the ICO craze or leave well enough alone.

In early December, the SEC even filed charges against PlexCorps, a company that had raised over $15 million by promising to deliver returns in excess of 1,354% percent over a one-month period. Later in the month, the SEC froze trading on a hot bitcoin stock, The Crypto Company, citing concerns regarding the accuracy and adequacy of information.

This has been the general gist of many of the SEC actions in regards to ICOs, sending shockwaves through the cryptocurrency investment world.

This space is on fire and everyone wants in, but all this uncertainty around ICOs is making investors nervous, says Fintech entrepreneur and Finova Financial CEO Gregory Keough. The ICO model was a good first iteration, but we saw that it was time to take it to a next-level approach that provides compliance while still delivering a type of crowdfunding opportunity.

JCO Offers ICO 2.0 Alternative

With his attorneys at Cooley LLP, Keough has created what he describes as ICO 2.0 a next-gen hybrid of ICO and initial public offering (IPO) structured to comply with SEC regulations using the JOBS Act Regulation A+ to include non-certified investors in a pathway to the worlds first equity-linked token. He hopes his JOBS Crypto Offering (JCO) model will provide a new avenue for startups to raise capital from a larger pool of investors.

The crypto-investment market is maturing very quickly, says Keough. With the SECs actions, were already moving past the sort of lawless new frontier mentality that was so exciting when Bitcoin and ICOs first took off. Investors are looking for more secure ways to get into the crypto craze, and we are working with Cooley LLP to fill this market demand.

Introduced in the U.S. in November, the JCO is a new crowdfunding...

The Right ICO Could Be the Best Way to Enrich Yourself "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

It is known, the investment process can eventually be destroyed by the initial coin offering (ICO) or ensuing token generation events.  The new business model existing in the world of blockchain technology changes traditional fundraising campaigns in the way of clarity, transparent success and safety. The generation of held-for-trading tokens raises the capital in this process.

The peculiarity of ICO is founded on the idea of using the crypto tokens. The two main token types proving the services and products of ICO to the potential investors are utility tokens (app coins) and equity tokens. In case of business success, the investors are able to get the money in cash or as different coins  (e.g. ETH, BTC) by trading on basic cryptocurrency exchanges.  The adventurous for an ICO is the perspective of capital growth that can provide further development of the project based on the blockchain.

ICO investing could be the best way to grow rich

Throughout 2017, ICO became the most commercially successful and investment attractive way to get the capital for starting the business. Such ICO niches like gambling, finance, healthcare, E-learning are in great demand with investors.

As was said earlier, the substitution of traditional business models with new ones in the world of blockchain technologies bring advanced ways for project development, its fundraising, and realization. First of all, it is absolutely necessary to spend time on learning the rock-solid whitepaper and well-crafted website if the investor is interested in ICO investing. Full knowledge of core ICO audience and the idea of ICO are also essential to start an investment.

A grain of sand on the beach

With the launch of plenty of ICOs and new tokens every week, getting to know them all and understanding the possibility of sustained profit by participating in them is like looking for a grain on the beach. That is why new investors should be aware of the main rules and regulations that are applicable to the country from which the ICO originates. The investors have better chance to differentiate ICOs with wealth potential from scams if they fully understand the business environment.

Generally speaking, the startups organizing the ICOS always try to find the right solution to the problems using blockchain technology. The secret of success lies in understanding the ICO markets subtle aspects, the suggestions and provided solutions.

The different ways for sports betting

After lots of attempts to develop the newest blockchain PokerStars website, sports betting has remained an untouched ICO sub-niche in the gambling industry. It is natural that players need a favorable and secure environment as much as the investors...

Hugo + Firebase: How to create your own static website for free in minutes "IndyWatch Feed Education"

Ever thought of having your own website for putting up your project portfolio or resume or a blog for yourself. By the end of this article, you will be able to create one.

Generally, to develop a website you need to know HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript (sometimes). But, for this, you dont need to have any coding skills. You just need basic computer skills.

To put up a website, you need to have a space (aka hosting) where all your files will be uploaded. Whenever someone types your website and clicks enter, these are the files that are served/presented to the user on the browser.

Lets get started with what you need to have/know:

Google Account

I believe you might already have a Gmail account, which is enough. If not create one.

Domain

This is optional. There are various domain name providers in the world, additionally you can buy one at Google. You can find a list of domain name providers. It is as simple as shopping on Amazon.

Hugo

Hugo is a Go language-based tool, which generates static websites. You can use various templates and make different types of websites like blogs, portfolio sites etc.

Download it from here.

Firebase

Firebase is a mobile and web application platform, acquired by Google a few years ago. Firebase offers hosting as one of its features. However, many mobile developers use it for Analytics, Notifications, Crash Reporting of apps. We are going to use it for hosting our website.

Node.js

Node.js is an open-source JavaScript run time built on Chromes V8 JavaScript engine. For this tutorial, you need it to be installed on your machine for Firebase tools to work. You can download and install it from here.

Step 1: Install Hugo on your machine

Windows: You will get a simple portable executable file. You can place it anywhere and run via command line. You can add it to your path variable in Windows environment variables to get it referenced anywhere.

Please sign my petition asking the government to take primitive muzzle-loading pistols off the restrictive H class licence & place them with other muzzle-loading guns on the less restrictive B class licence.
Thank you.
Keith.

This is a matchlock muzzle-loading pistol, it requires a smouldering matchcord to make it fire.
This is a wheellock muzzle-loading pistol, it requires a key to wind up the lock, & a piece of iron pyrite rock to make it fire.

Ammo choices, factory fresh, remanufactured or reload your own? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

I was reading a reddit last night about don't buy remanufactured ammo. Some points were valid but for the most part it seemed he was just trashing most of it because he has a bad experience with some. Even factory ammo can have quality problems at times. Now if you roll your own you know what you are getting. I've run all types of ammo through my guns and rarely do I have a malfunction due to ammo. So,what's your take on this?

365 Challenge: Day 307 Instinct "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Instinct: (a) an innate, typically fixed pattern of behavior in animals in response to certain stimuli or (b) what your gut says

instinct

There are moments in life when you tell yourself to push beyond the instinctual behavior that generally guides your actions. Sometimes you can accept a different feeling or approach, but not always and even when you do, you may not fully engage to see a different result. It is when you reflect back on your decisions and determination that you often see how accurate your instincts can be after theyve been a natural part of who you are for so very many years. But if you choose to always rely on them, you might not ever experience a necessary revelation.

My instincts have been on high alert in regard to several decisions and trust over the last few months. I remind myself each day to take chances. It might pay off. It might not. If I listened to my instincts today (as in this morning, this moment), and followed through on what they tell me, I might be listening to fear rather than opportunity. I doubt Ill cater to them right now, as I can see why the voice is louder in the current period and thats a good thing. Recognizing the parameters under which you originally developed your instincts is necessary before unequivocally accepting them as concrete guides to evaluating your options and making your decisions.

War with the US is Inevitable According to North Korea "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The ongoing tension between the United States and North Korea has once again captured the attention of the mainstream media, dominating our news broadcasts and social media feeds with the potential risk of armed conflict on the horizon.

One week after North Korea conducted a series of tests on its most powerful intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) to date, approximately 12,000 U.S. military personnel took part in a series of annual military drills in South Korea dubbed Vigilant Ace. The military drills included a total of 230 planes flying from 8 different locations in South Korea, including two dozen U.S. stealth jets.

North Korea described the drills as a provocation led by President Trump, condemning South Korea for being nothing more than puppet war maniacs. Furthermore, they claim that several different U.S. officials, including CIA Director Mike Pompeo, have confirmed the intent of the United States of America for war.

Source: Carib Flame

The large-scale nuclear war exercises conducted by the U.S. in succession are creating touch-and-go situation on the Korean Peninsula and series of violent war remarks coming from the U.S. high-level politicians amid such circumstances have made an outbreak of war on the Korean Peninsula an established fact. The remaining question now is: when will the war break out, a spokesman for North Korea stated. We do not wish for a war but shall not hide from it, and should the U.S. miscalculate our patience and light the fuse for a nuclear war, we will surely make the U.S. dearly pay the consequences with our mighty nuclear force which we have consistently strengthened.

These sentiments have been shared by a number of high ranking individual people within the country. Ri Yong Ho, North Koreas Foreign Minister, accused President Trump of declaring war on the country citing a tweet stating that North Korea wont be around much longer.

He went on to explain, Last weekend Trump claimed that our leadership wouldnt be around much longer and declared a war on our country. Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make all self-defensive countermeasures, including the right to shoot down the United States strategic bombers at any time even when they are not yet inside the aerospace border of our country.

An Independent Counterparty Protocol Dedicated to Bitcoin Cash

Bitcoin cash supporters were greeted this week by a new development A counterparty protocol for the BCH network. The original counterparty network is a peer-to-peer platform launched in 2014 that allows the creation of financial assets derived from the BTC chain. In order to bootstrap the protocols native currency, developers performed whats called Proof-of-Burn. This method requires the initiation of sending a cryptocurrency to an address that is unspendable. During the creation period of XCP in January of 2014, 2125.63 BTC were burned by being sent to an unspendable address. Essentially the counterparty protocol can create other types of assets like bond notes, collectible cards, and loyalty rewards that are backed by the security of the BTC blockchain.

Message from Mike Quinsey 1-12-18 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A new Mike Quinsey. I found the Inner Earth living idea now much more understandable after listening to and reading Corey Goodes and David wilcocks messages about how off-planet beings and higher consciousness beings prefer to live in inner earth locations, avoiding the hazards of being around lower consciousness surface beings.

From here on you will begin to see the signs of positive change around you, and the quicker the vibrations increase, the quicker they will manifest. In general terms some of the most important changes that will affect everyone are with the general lifting up of the vibrations. The higher energy will transmute the lower energies so that negative actions will begin to lose their power, and the ultimate will be when only the higher vibrations can exist. Then you shall have become physical Angels with full consciousness as predicted long, long ago.

If the idea of living inside the Earth seems strange to you, bear in mind that it is a normal development of all advanced human type lifeforms. In fact it is much safer than living on the surface, and with advanced technologies a new Earth can be created that would appear little different to living on the surface. The immediate gain is that you control all aspects of your environment, so you are never at the mercy of the weather extremes that are sometimes experienced on the surface. Also realise that when you are so advanced, you will create virtually all you need through your power of thought.

in the course of time changes in such [earthquake prone] areas [San Andreas fault, e.g.], it will result...

Dream Psychology: How to Analyze Your Dreams to Find the Meaning Within "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Our dreams provide us with much more insight than we realize. They are a look into our subconscious and something a lot of people do not get to experience.

When it comes to analyzing your dreams you dont have to work as hard as you might think. Below you will find a list of things that will help you figure out the meanings behind your dreams and also how to better understand yourself on a deeper level. Dream interpretation can do more than we think.

1. Write down everything as soon as you wake up.

It is important to get everything out while you still remember it. Write down everything, all the small details. It all matters and the more you remember the more you can interpret.

2. Look at your dream from an outside perspective, how did you feel in the dream?

Read your dream as if it is not your own one good time. Assess the emotions and whatnot associated with the dream and yourself. Get to know the mood of the dream and what is really happening.

3. Determine whether or not the dream is a real-life situation or a fantasy.

Is this dream an experience of some kind you have had before or is there more to it than that? What is going on within the dream? Is what has happened in the dream something you would want to happen in real life.

4. Recognize patterns within your dreams.

Really think about everything. What animals or other things of the sort do you keep noticing? Is there some kind of pattern within one dream or from one dream to the next? What things stand out to you?

5. Decide what your dream(s) mean for you.

Now that you have gone over everything it is up to you to decide what your dream or dreams mean for you. While there are tons of books and things out there about what different things in a dream may mean at the end of the day your dreams were made for you specifically. You will know what they mean as the universe sees fit.

Your dreams are special and designed specifically for you. They are working to tell you something. Our dreams could mean anything from we need to get over the past to there is something unsavory coming in our future. Dont let anyone tell you what your dreams mean, only you know. Please check out the video below for more information on this.

440 Hz VS 432 Hz: Conspiracy to Force Anxiety on Us Through Our Music "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Music across the globe is tuned to 440 hertz and has been for many many years; however, lots of people believe that frequency is damaging us in many different ways. Could 440 be causing us to become unhealthy mentally and physically?

440 Hz is the standard tuning frequency, but would 432 Hz be better? Afterall, we used 432 Hz before the change and many of our people of the past were much more creative and far smarter in comparison to the people of current times, right? Many even go so far as to say that 440 is the governments (or even the global elites) way of waging war on man.

Dr. Leonard Horowitz wrote as follows on this in a paper titled Musical Cult Control.:

The music industry features this imposed frequency that is herding populations into greater aggression, psycho social agitation, and emotional distress predisposing people to physical illness.

432 Hz is the frequency of life. Many believe this frequency itself can heal mankind as well as the rest of the world. Listening to music that has been tuned to this frequency is said to make your body as well as the organic world surrounding it resonate in a more natural way. 440 Hz is considered to be disharmonic and is said to cause stress as well as unstable emotions.

440 Hz is as it seems successfully lowering the vibrations of the younger generations to come as well as our own. You can hear a distinct difference between 432 and 440 as you will notice in the video below. There are even organizations working to revive the 432 Hz as the new standard for tuning, but I doubt that will happen. 440 Hz is quite embedded in our culture currently so it will take a lot to make a change like that.

Now, whether you think all of this is bull or not is entirely up to you. This conspiracy theory has been around for ages and is not dying off anytime soon. I for one believe I can feel a difference when I pay attention to the videos on this, but since I dont only listen to music in 432 Hz I am not sure what my stance is. Could 440 Hz be causing anxiety?

Stubborn, Optimistic, Purposeful People Live Longer "IndyWatch Feed Health"

By Dr. Mercola

No matter where you live or how old you are, you're probably interested in living longer. If you're reading this, chances are you're in an ever-increasing quest to live better, eat better and generally take better care of yourself. But how might someone's mental outlook influence their longevity? According to new research1 published in International Psychogeriatrics, living longer is not necessarily just a matter of chance. Approaching life with purpose and optimism has been shown to make a significant difference in a life well lived.

It takes intestinal fortitude to live in a world where it feels, in many respects, that to do what's best for you, you have to row against the tide. While many simply go with the flow, it takes courage and, yes, possibly a stubborn streak, to hold out for excellence and perseverance; to live life with purpose and not just what floats your boat at the moment.

Researchers from Sapienza University in Rome and the University of California San Diego collaborated to study people living in nine remote villages in Southern Italy who lived, in some cases, well past the age of 90 and even to 101.

Their health was compared with that of family members whose ages ranged from 51 to 75 years. One fascinating thing the scientists found was that, although some of the younger people may have been in better physical shape, the oldsters enjoyed better mental health. One may wonder how the researchers went about assessing the outcomes of the data they gathered. Newsweek noted:

"Data was gathered using both measurable assessments for mental and physical health, including factors like optimism and depression, in addition to interviews that gathered personal stories about traumatic life events and beliefs. The team also analyzed the younger participants on the same rating scales but also asked them to describe their older relatives' personalities."2

How Being Stubborn Can 'Ground' You

Characteristics like having a positive attitude contributed to a more upbeat mindset for the older people involved in the study, the assessments determined. Newsweek quoted study co-author Dilip Jeste, from the University of San Diego School of Medicine and director of its Center for Healthy Aging, who explained:

30 Tips in 30 Days Designed to Help You Take Control of Your Health

This article is part of the 30 Day Resolution Guide series. Each day a new tip will be added designed to help you take control of your health. For a complete list of the tips click HERE

By Dr. Mercola

Its unfortunate how many fail to fully appreciate the importance oral health has on their overall health. The fact of the matter is, the delicate balance of bacteria in your mouth is as important to your health as your gut microbiome. When certain bacteria become overabundant, various oral problems start to develop.

Periodontal disease, for example, which affects the soft tissues and bone, is initiated by an increase in Porphyromonas gingivalis, which impairs your immune response, while dental caries had been causally linked to Streptococcus mutans.1 Your oral health, in turn, impacts the rest of your body, and can have a significant impact on your disease risk.

Type 2 diabetes and periodontal disease are strongly connected, for example.2 Research also shows that failing to brush twice a day increases your risk of dementia by as much as 65 percent, compared to brushing three times a day, and good oral hygiene has been shown to lower your risk of pneumonia by about 40 percent.3

When bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease enter into your circulatory system, your liver releases C-reactive proteins, which have inflammatory effects. Inflammation, in turn, is known to be a disease-causing force leading to most chronic illness. For example, inflamed and diseased gums may raise your risk of a fatal heart attack by up to 10 times.

Whats worse, according to Dr. Gerry Curatola, founder of Rejuvenation Dentistry, heart attacks related to gum disease are fa...

17 Traits All Empaths Have But Dont Like to Admit "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Empaths are pretty interesting individuals, that are often misunderstood. They tend to stand out far more than they realize.

Empaths are very sensitive people, that are able to feel the emotions of others on a very real level. While most people sympathize when someone feels down and out the empath takes those emotions on as their own. If you know an empath you are most likely aware of how intense they can be. I believe this stems from all the emotions they take on.

While most Empaths know they are different, they often struggle with admitting to it. They are not usually the kind of people who want to stick out like a sore thumb whether they tend to or not. This causes a lot of internal conflicts and makes them feel out of place.

17 Traits All Empaths Have But Usually Dont Want to Admit to Having:

1. They tend to be introverts for the most part.

A lot of people tend to assume that empaths are extroverted, but to be completely honest, most of them are not. Empaths tend to be introverted and dont generally like to be around a lot of people at all. They are more homebodies and are also not keen on going out.

2. They are quite intuitive.

Empaths just know things. Their intuitions guide them on a much more intense level. They may not quite understand it, but they know their gut is guiding them.

3. They are often afraid of being taken advantage of.

They are always giving and doing things for other people, but they dont want to be taken advantage of. They want to help and be helped but are not good at asking for help in general, this makes them a good target to be taken advantage of. With that being said, strong empaths are usually quick to notice it.

4. They need time to recharge.

Empaths need time alone to recharge. They are constantly absorbing the emotions and energies from those around them and it takes a serious toll on them. While you may think they are blowing you off, they are merely doing what is best for themselves.

5. They have a good sense of humor.

Empaths love to cut up and have fun. They joke around a lot and often turn out to the be the life of the party once you actually get them out. Empaths are able to make just about anyone laugh.

6. They are unapologetically themselves.

Empaths are always true to who they are. They will not pretend to be someon...

Forking Bitcoins bring two new cryptos "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Last year Bitcoin forked multiple times but the most successful one was Bitcoin Cash providing a rival chain that caused a rift within the BTC community. This year both versions are forking again and two new blockchains are imminent, with World Bitcoin already arriving.

WBTC has already split from the Bitcoin chain at block 503,888. According to its founders it has been created to solve a number of existing problems with Bitcoin. Anyone that has used it is well aware of the transaction fees and the arduous hours it takes to send or receive. World Bitcoin aims to evolve beyond the current blockchain into something far more efficient;

We call it World Bitcoin because we want to solve the practical problems in the Bitcoin Network from a global perspective and offer more diverse scenarios of applications,

By creating blockchain 3.0  the founders want to develop a system characterized by an infinite platform of smart contracts, high concurrency, low fees and blocks with upper limits. According to a WBTC Medium post the team said;

In such areas as financial services, food security and culture and entertainment, concepts in blockchain technology have already been adopted in real life. Just like Internet +, blockchain + will have a significant impact on the upgrade of the whole industry and WBTC will spearhead that change.

In total there will be 2.121 billion WBTC, with 21 million being managed by the WBTC Foundation for marketing, building a global ecosystem, and developing new features. Bitcoin users can get 100 WBTC for 1 Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Candy is the second fork due to split from the Bitcoin Cash chain at block 512,666 where it will continue on its own 8Mb block chain. BCH users will get CDY at a ratio of a thousand per Bitcoin Cash. The vision behind this one is a system resilient to quantum computing which many speculate will break the existing blockchain model. The Bitcoin Candy website states;

As top technology companies like D-Wave, IBM and Intel are ramping up their investment in quantum computing research and development, the age of quantum computing will probably arrive in five to ten years. As such, ECDSA-based cryptocurrencies will become breakable by quantum computers. The CDY team will focus on experimenting with post-quantum signatures to secure cryptocurrencies.

Blocks will be created much faster, at a rate of every two minutes and a total supply of 21 billion will be available, 10% of which will be pre-mined as an inc...

The Big Five Personality Test: Where Do You Stand? "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

For those who may not know there is a five-factor model in place that works to evaluate the five core aspects of our personalities. These are known as the big five; where do you stand?

The big five is used to help psychologists better understand us and help us better understand ourselves. It can benefit us greatly to know where we stand when it comes to the FFM. The five parts of this are broken down as you will see below.

Openness

Openness is the persons ability to express themselves freely, unfortunately, many people are lacking in this area. I believe a good middle ground on this one is necessary.

Conscientiousness

This is the personality trait of being vigilant. It is our desire to do something well and correctly. People who are not lacking in this area tend to get things done quickly and remain organized.

Extroversion/Introversion

Extroverted people are more outgoing where-as introverted people are not. Introverted people do not like to socialize while extroverts are always the life of the party. This boils down to how a person thrives socially.

Agreeableness

This is essential whether or not someone is kind or cooperative. Those who are more agreeable are often found to be more considerate of others. This trait is also one that needs a middle ground.

Neuroticism

Being high in this increases your risks of anxiety big time. People with higher levels of this are often constantly worrying or afraid of something. It can be quite frustrating.

Where do you think you stand on the big five? If you want to find out you can do so by clicking here and taking the test directly on Psychology Today. While it is a bit long, it is quite in depth and will tell you a lot about who you are. Apparently, I am as I assumed I would be, quite introverted. For a better explanation on these five traits check out the video below.

Florida Universitys White Racism Course Sparks Outrage "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

A Florida university has been accused of stoking racial tensions with a controversial new course on white racism

It has already upset people to such an extent that police officers will stand guard outside the classroom where places filled quickly to the maximum of 50 students

RT reports: Florida Gulf Coast University rolled out the new course entitled, White racism, on Tuesday as part of its Spring semester to examine the racist ideologies, laws, policies, and practices that have allowed white racial domination over those racialized as non-white.

Course director Ted Thornhill, an assistant professor of sociology, said hes received a raft of emails challenging the academic integrity of such a course, as well as more abusive messages including racial slurs and those branding him a racist. Cancer (Stage 4) is what you and your family deserve for spreading hate, lies &  intolerance, one detractor wrote, as cited by News Press.

Thornhill reportedly handed over 50 pages of such emails to police as a precautionary measure, fearing that the backlash could escalate. Importantly, however, no actual threats of violence or potential disruptions to the course were made. The university authorities will station two campus police officers outside the classroom as a precautionary measure regardless.

I think most of us dont anticipate there being any unrest or protest or anything like that, Thornhill said. But its more of a prudent measure to have law enforcement present just in case.

Asked whether the police presence outside the classroom would be temporary, Thornhill said: I dont think that we would share many of those details for individuals who have negative intentions.

He also reported that several of the 50 students due to take the course have expressed concern for their safety, describing the backlash as upsetting but perhaps not entirely surprising given the nature of these more rabid white racists.

Busting Open the Chemtrail Denial Subterfuge "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

by Julian Rose; Waking Times

As we swing into the New Year, many are going to be feeling more than a little impatient that the perpetrators of the toxic air-born emissions which create engineered clouds over vast areas of our skies, still remain largely anonymous.

Anonymous by name, but no doubt to be found within the ranks of military industrial proponents and psychopathic secret society hegemons: those who hide behind the 1991 Hughes Aircraft atmospheric aerosol patent. The patent that formalized an engineering technique which alters the climate and sickens the planetary population with its debilitating fall-out.

There is a red line test that almost instantly reveals peoples awareness about these, and related, military activities. Just put the question What do you think about 9/11? And how do you feel about chemtrails? You might be surprised to find that those who you consider reasonably intelligent and quite thoughtful individuals, appear to be neither when asked to think about these two actualities.

This response to the first question would be quite typical Its obvious, 9/11 was an al-Qaeda mission led by bin Laden. Theres nothing suspicious about it. And on chemtrails They dont exist.

What one runs into when confronted with such an unquestioning response, creates a genuine human dilemma. Where can one turn if fellow human beings are unwilling to examine, in any detail, incriminating evidence that stands behind such crimes against humanity?

Citrus Peels and Cancer: The Zest of Life "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

by Dr. Michael Greger; Care2

New data demonstrating a DNA protective agent present in at least some fruits and vegetables found that the agent was heat sensitive and determined it was not vitamin C. This was confirmed in a study that tried vitamin C directly and found no effect on DNA protection or repair of DNA strand breaks.

If not vitamin C, what could the DNA protective agent be? The carotenoid beta-cryptoxanthin, found primarily in citrus, seems to be at least one candidate. If we expose cells to a mutagenic chemical, we can cause physical breaks in the strands of DNA. However, in less than an hour, our DNA repair enzymes can weld most of our DNA back together. What happens if we add some of that citrus phytonutrient? We can effectively double the speed at which DNA is repaired. But, this was determined in a petri dish. What about in a person?

In one study, subjects drank a glass of orange juice and their blood was drawn two hours later. The DNA damage induced with an oxidizing chemical dropped, whereas if they had just had something like orange Kool-Aid instead of orange juice, it didnt help.

So, do people who eat more fruit walk around with less DNA damage? Yes, particularly women. Does this actually translate into lower cancer rates? It appears so: Citrus alone is associated with a 10 percent reduction in odds of breast cancer.

They reflect the mothering part of every living being on earth and every mother of every species takes light from cows encoding to share the pure nurturing love with their sons and daughters.

A wounded morphogenetic field

Cows are suffering and as a collective their morphogenetic field is wounded, distorted because of a continuous and permanent imposed state of fear and pain.

All the collectives and individuals are influences by this massive distorted field, because we are all one and this is what being all one means, we cannot spare the dark. Cutting off the divine feminine, repressing this fundamental part of our core, has lead us to a distorted reality, a reality where disconnection and dissection is reflected even in our everyday meals.

We as cows are holding a mirroring space of pain and horror, representing in a direct way what the divine feminine has gone through for ages now. All the animal kingdom which is, in the original blueprint, a balanced creation between the divine feminine and the divine masculine. All of us are living a distortion, a very hurtful distortion.

This year is a year of transformation

2018 is a year of transformation where the majority of humanity will come across the transition earth, the transition blueprint that offers ramps, steps, actions to move every individual eventually onto the new earth. This is the year of bridging worlds, of connecting the cosmic existence with the earthly experience. In every day you have a chance to make this connection.

I invite you all, my human children, to have our cow essence present, even if only for a minute, every day throughout this year and until needed. To awaken the divine feminine is to raise awareness of what is going on on the physical represe...

The Lightworker Syndrome The Obstacle That Traps A Lot Of Highly Conscious People "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

by Conscious Reminder

One obstacle that traps a lot of highly conscious people is what I call Lightworker Syndrome. This is what happens when someone wakes up to a higher level of consciousness, but they cant figure out how to live on purpose and feed themselves at the same time.

Such people have a lot of trouble staying connected to higher levels of consciousness while also remaining solidly grounded in the physical world. Many of them get so frustrated with the experience they become depressed and have feelings of wanting to give up and just go home (i.e. return to the nonphysical world).

Spiritual connectedness vs. physical groundedness

These troubled lightworkers often feel they must compromise: either stay connected up top and be totally ungrounded, or lose that higher connection and become more grounded. But this is a really tough compromise, so many of them oscillate back and forth, never quite sure which is the right way to go.

Consequently, these lightworkers either do empty work they dont enjoy but which pays OK, or they do purpose-centered work that hardly pays anything. They end up sacrificing either their purpose or their income, since its very, very challenging to satisfy both at the same time. But this either-or decision takes a toll in the long run.

The job listing appeared on the website for AECOM, the operator of secretive Janet airlines, which flies aircraft out of McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Among the listed qualifications for the flight attendant job, the candidate [M]ust qualify for and maintain a top secret government security clearance and associated work location access.

Aviation and conspiracy buffs alike read that as confirmation the future employee would have to make occasional stops at Area 51, as well as other sensitive sites Janet flies to that are off limits for other military and civilian flights.

Detail of the Hell for Priests Scroll (12-13th c.), showing a demon jailor leading sinners to the river of excrement (Collection of the Nara National Museum, all images courtesy PIE International)

Theres a special place in hell for a sinner of every kind, as Buddhist ideas of the netherworld suggest. Cheat someone of their fortunes, and youll be destined to weigh hot iron forever in a lair overseen by a three-eyed hag. Use evil language, and youll land in a realm where wardens cut out your tongue with hot iron shears. Kill a bird, and find yourself surrounded by massive flames, as avians with hot beaks gnaw at your roasting flesh.

These are just a sampling of the many gruesome and highly specific fates that await in the Narakas, or the Buddhist realms of purgatory. Like Dantes Inferno, ancient scriptures describing these various hells have captivated artists across centuries. A book recently published by PIE International focuses on such artworks made in Japan, compiling historical examples of prominent paintings and scrolls that are devoted entirely to mans understanding of a brutal underworld.

Mel Gibson: Hollywood Is Den Of Parasites Who Feast On Blood Of Kids "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Hollywood studios are drenched in the blood of innocent children according to Mel Gibson who claims the consumption of baby blood is so popular in Hollywood that it basically operates as a currency of its own.

Hollywood elites are an enemy of mankind continually acting contrary to our best interests and breaking every God given taboo known to man, including the sanctity of children, Mel Gibson said in London, where he is promoting his role in Daddys Home 2, his most prominent on-screen role in years.

Its an open secret in Hollywood. These people have their own religious and spiritual teachings and their own social and moral frameworks. They have their sacred texts they are sick, believe me and they couldnt be more at odds with what America stands for.

Mel Gibson appeared on the Graham Norton Show on the BBC on Friday, and he schooled shocked guests about the real nature of Hollywood elites in the green room backstage after his appearance.

Explaining that he spent the last ten years working on my own ideas, outside of the Hollywood system after being blacklisted by Hollywood in 2006 for sharing opinions about the industry and the world that run counter to liberal orthodoxy, Gibson said, I dont know how to break it to you gently Hollywood is institutionalized pedophilia. They are using and abusing kids.

They churn through a huge amount of kids every year. Their spiritual beliefs, if you can call them that, direct them to harvest the energy of the kids. They feast on this stuff and they thrive on it, the Hacksaw Ridge director said.

What do I mean? This isnt some kind of artistic abstraction. They harvest the blood of children. They eat their flesh. They believe this gives them life force. If the child was suffering in body and psyche before it died, they believe this gives them extra life force.

There is a creative and loving force inside most of us that guides us through life. These people dont have this. For them its the opposite.

According to Mel Gibson, who has spent 30 years in and out of the Hollywo...

Story at-a-glance
  • While most people actually consider milk thistle a pesky weed, and it can be quite invasive, its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-viral benefits make it worth keeping around
  • This tall, thorny herb with bright magenta or purple flowers has been around for more than 2,000 years and is highly regarded as a liver tonic due to a group of flavonoids known as silymarin
  • Silymarin supports the overall functioning of your liver, and can also be used therapeutically for cirrhosis of the liver, chronic liver inflammation and liver damage from alcohol and other toxic substances
  • Before attempting to grow milk thistle, check with your local cooperative extension office to ensure it is not considered an invasive species and therefore restricted in your area; if it is, you can still enjoy the many health benefits of milk thistle in capsule, extract, oil or powder form

We live in the age of convenience and the age of fast. We dont even want to be bothered taking the time to melt some butter or coconut oil on our pans so food doesnt stick so we opt for nonstick cookware. Some of the most popular and widely used brands of cookware are nonstick and known to contain a chemical that has been linked to major health concerns including cancer. (1, 2)

Tenorio volcano Costa Rica Alert! Seismic swarm recorded after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Honduras on Monday "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

RSOE Alert map
The seismic swarm recorded since Tuesday on the eastern flank of the Tenorio volcano, in Guanacaste, was the reason for the decision made on Thursday afternoon to close off indefinitely, as a preventive measure, the National Park to tourists and local officials.
The earthquakes were relatively strong and the park was closed so as not to put visitors at risk. Depending on the conditions, it will reopen, but tomorrow (Friday) we will do an inspection to see the state of the trails and assess whether there are rocks or trees in danger of falling, explained Alexander Leon, director of the Arenal Tempisque Conservation Area (ACAT).
Authorities reported that the swarm began after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Honduras on Monday, whose epicenter was located 44 kilometers from the Islas del Cisne (Swan Islands), a chain of three islands located in the northwestern Caribbean Sea, approximately 153 kilometers off the coastline of Honduras.
According to experts, seismic waves move through and around the earth, on occasion, can cause some (seismic) faults to activate.
Leopold Linkimer, a specialist of the Red Sismologica Nacional (RSN) National Seismic Network, said that the term swarm is used when several tremors of similar magnitudes occur in the same epicentral location, separated by a short time, but with spatial or temporal ranges that are difficult to determine.
Preliminarily we associate the movements with the Cano Negro and Chiquero faults, but we continue working with the methodologies that allow us to know the origin of the tremors, explained Linkimer.
So far, the seismic activity has been perceived mostly in Tilaran, Guanacaste and Bijagua de Upala, Alajuela; However, residents of Bagaces, Alajuela, La Fortuna, Ciudad Quesada, Puntarenas, Esparza, Abangares and Santa Cruz also reported tremors.
In addition, in Aguacaliente de Bagaces, residents reported the falling of light objects during Thursdays 5.3 magnitude event that occurred at 1:57 pm.
The RSN reports 12 tremors in three hours on the east flank of the Tenorio, the most intense a 5.1 magnitude.
On the other hand, renowned local vovolcanologist Marino Protti, said the Tenorio volcano has never experienced a seismic swarm, for this the Observatorio Vulcanologicoy Sismologico de Costa Rica (Ovsicori) will also keep monitoring the volcano.
He added that at the moment there are no reports of changes in the volcano due to tremors.

Noam Chomskys Commentary Going Over About Just as Well in Phantasy Star IV as in Real Life "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

I was unable to endure any further dismantling of Motavia at the hands of a despotic magician and his sinister overlords, he said of Zio, the powerful spellcaster who has won favor among a growing segment of the population by means of violence and wild promises. I simply couldnt sit idly by as the ruling class continued to grease the cogs of its subversive mechanisms by arousing fear in the masses.

Although, just like at home, nobody seems to give a shit, he added.

IKEA Is Asking Customers to Pee on Their New Advertisement, And Its Actually a Wonderful Idea "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

IKEA has taken advertisement to a whole new level. While it may sound a bit weird, hear us out

This advertisement appeared in Swedish womens magazine Amelia and if you go potty on the page, you might reveal a discount code for a crib. For a crib advertisement, it doesnt get better than this. If you are pregnant and pee on the ad your code will be revealed but if you are not pregnant, no code for you.

A Swedish agency that is known as Akestam Holst brought this idea to life. This was something that took a good bit of time to develop and has IKEA workers everywhere grossed out more than you know. However, it is easily the coolest more recent pee-based advertising I have seen.

The agency told Ad Week as follows:

In order to make the interactive functions of this ad work, in reality, we had to make several technological advancements. The pregnancy test strip was used as a starting point, which relies on antibodies that bind to the pregnancy hormone hCG, resulting in a color change. For scaling up of this technique and adapting it to the physical format of a printed ad, Mercene Labs has used their experience in development of s...

Kostis Palamas and the Olympic Anthem "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

And then I saw that I am the poet, surely a poet among many a mere soldier of the verse, but always the poet who desires to close within his verse the longings and questionings of the universal man, and the cares and fanaticism of the citizen. I may not be a worthy citizen; but it cannot be that I am the poet of myself alone. I am the poet of my age and of my race. And what I hold within me cannot be divided from the world without. (Kostis Palamas, Preface to The Twelve Words of the Gypsy)

21wZShEIxbL._BO1,204,203,200_On the 13th of January 1859, Kostis Palamas was born in Patras, Greece. Considered one of the foremost poets of modern Greece, Palamas is valued for his lyrical expression of the national sufferings and aspirations of the Greeks and for the characteristic fusion of Greek history, mythology, and philosophy with various contemporary European ideas. According to Eugne Clement, Kostis Palamas is raised not only above other poets of Modern Greece but above all the poets of contemporary Europe. Though he is not the most known he is incontestably the greatest. (Eugne Clement, Revue des tudes Grecques).

For the first time in sixteen years, Lara Caphart has returned to her hometown of Whisker Jog, New Hampshire.  She wants to reconnect with her estranged Aunt Fran, who's having some difficulty looking after herself - and her eleven cats.  Taking care of a clowder of kitties is easy, but keeping fran from being harassed by local bully Theo Barnes is hard.  The wealthy builder has set his sights on Fran's property, and is determined to make her an offer she doesn't dare refuse.

Then Lara spots a blue-eyed Ragdoll cat that she swears is the reincarnation of her beloved Blue, her childhood pet.  Pursuing the feline to the edge of Fran's yard, she stumbles upon the body of Theo Barnes, clearly a victim of foul play.  To get her and Fran off the suspect list, Lara finds herself following the cat's clues in search of a killer.  Is Blue's ghost really trying to help her solve a murder, or has Lara inhaled too much catnip?

Lara Caphart is a struggling artist who lives in Boston.  When she receives a telephone call from her friend Sherry telling her how her Aunt Fran is in trouble and needs help, she takes time off from her part-time job to return to Whisker Jog, New Hampshire and see if she can help her.

When she arrives, she finds that her aunt has knee problems and has trouble getting around, and that she's turned her home into a mini-cat sanctuary, with eleven of the furballs.  Lara immediately begins cleaning up while reconnecting, and tries to decide how to get Fran part-time help when she returns to Boston.

She coaxes Fran into having lunch with her at Sherry and her mother's cafe, and while there they witness an encounter with blowhard Theo Barnes and townspeople.  She also discovers that Theo is intent on buying a parcel of land Fran owns, and since he's also Sherry's landlord, has given them notice to vacate b...

PMID:  Food Chem Toxicol. 2018 Jan ;111:467-473. Epub 2017 Dec 5. PMID: 29208504 Abstract Title:  Hepatoprotective effects of garlic against ethanol-induced liver injury: A mini-review. Abstract:  Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is a progressively aggravated liver disease with a diverse spectrum from steatosis to hepatitis, fibrosis, and cirrhosis. Epidemiological studies reveal that alcohol is one of the major causes of advanced liver disease in Europe, United States, and China. Despite the considerable harm, progression in ALD research is slow and the current therapies for ALD have less efficient. Garlic (Allium sativum) has been used as a flavoring agent and also a folk medicine since ancient time. Along with the prosperity in the use of herbal medicines for the treatment of human diseases in recent decades, a series of studies have focused on the beneficial effects of garlic against ALD. This mini-review highlighted the protective roles of garlic against ALD and the potential mechanisms.

Anyone without a bed can sleep on my couch, says Hunt "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

The Health Secretary has kindly offering to tackle the NHS over-crowding crisis by making use of his emergency futon. Critics have suggested that he is out of touch, but Mr. Hunt remains confident that the bed issue can be resolved: How many patients are we talking about? One? Two?.

Mr. Hunt spoke of his experience of dealing with similar problems, when a wine and nibbles party in 1996 resulted in a random guest having to use one of his six spare-rooms. A spokeswoman recounted: It was chaos at the time. The cheese board had been left out, Jeremy was forced to use his third favourite ergonomic pillow and there was barely enough hot water in the morning to heat the Jacuzzi and the pool.

Meanwhile interior designers have been called in to offer patient storage solutions; including bunkbeds in corridors, hammocks in waiting rooms and snug cubicles in the mortuary. Likewise, for a similar price to a central London hotel, you can stay in an NHS carpark and get a perfectly good nights sleep in your spacious boot.

The spokeswoman said: There are so many options available to the NHS loft conversions, extend into the garage or simply throw down some scatter cushions. Many Ministers are offering free beds although Id avoid Damian Green, Michael Fallon and Boris Johnson for the obvious reasons.

Arizona Court Refuses to Return Children Kidnapped from Nevada by Arizona Social Workers Back to Their Parents "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Parents living in Nevada want their children back home. The children who were taken out of Nevada by Arizona social workers claim they have been abused in Arizona foster care, and want to go back to their parents. They even filed their own lawsuit, the first ever in Arizona, but an Arizona court has ruled against them.

An Arizona appeals court has denied the parental rights of Nevada residents Jeff and Tabitha Shoars. Almost 17 months ago, Child Protective Services from Arizona crossed state lines and seized 6 of their children from Las Vegas, Nevada.

All along, they have hoped and prayed for the justice which they felt would surely occur if only judges looked at the actual evidence instead of the hearsay and lies from social workers from Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS).

Instead, like so many other parents who have fought Arizona DCS, they were devastated to hear yet another court deny them their parental rights to the children they brought into the world.

Tabitha Shoars heart breaks for her children:

No kid deserves this! What Arizona and every other CPS is doing to families they dont deserve this!

This is the latest chapter in the Shoars familys heartbreaking saga.

Diallyl trisulfide inhibits breast cancer stem cells via suppression of Wnt/-catenin pathway. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  J Cell Biochem. 2017 Dec 15. Epub 2017 Dec 15. PMID: 29243835 Abstract Title:  Diallyl Trisulfide Inhibits Breast Cancer Stem Cells via Suppression of Wnt/-catenin Pathway. Abstract:  Cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a central role in the development of breast cancer. The canonical Wnt/-catenin signal pathway is critical for maintaining CSCs characteristics. Diallyl trisulfide (DATS), a natural organosulfur compound from the garlic, exhibits effective antitumor properties. However, the role of DATS in regulating breast CSCs activity and the underlying molecular mechanisms remainobscure. In the present study, we reported that DATS efficiently inhibited the viability of breast CSCs as evidenced by reducing turmorspheres formation, decreasing the expression of breast CSCs markers (CD44, ALDH1A1, Nanog and Oct4), as well as inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis. Furthermore, we showed that DATS suppressed the activity of Wnt/-catenin pathway, while LiCl-triggered Wnt/-catenin activation diminished DATS inhibition on breast CSCs. Taken together, our results illustrated that DATS suppressed breast CSCs through inhibiting Wnt/-catenin pathway activation. These novel findings could provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of breast CSCs regulation as well as its target intervention and might provide new strategies for preventing and treating breast cancers. I am pro-health and personal empowerment. I do not think all doctors are bad people. I truly believe in my heart that most go into the field with good hopes and intentions.**

Today, I passionately want to address something that has been swirling around in my head for some time, but just lately had a few experiences happen that inspired me to finally put it all on (digital) paper.

As many of you might know, my ambition is in radical health freedom. For everyone, but I tend to and love focusing on women and womens health. As a mother, educator, and future midwife this shows up often in speaking out about evidence-based, biological birth, and how we can heal our bodies, from menstrual pains to when our kids have the flu and all the things in between and beyond.

There is nothing that brings me more fulfillment and joy than the idea of coming back to our truest, cellular, DNA-imprinted nature in a world where so many of the odds are stacked up against that very reality.

But there is also a huge problem I come up against as a mother promoting all things health and biological living.

Im not a doctor.

Not only am I not a doctor, but apparently, according to many folks, I shouldnt even be wasting my time and breath trying to educate the masses and shift these paradigms because I dont have that piece of paper hanging on my wall.

Some things I have heard about myself or about other women like me are:

Where did you get your degree? Google University?

Its a society full of Doctor Googles.

Do you have a degree in XYZ? No? Then leave it to the ones who actually studied this stuff and have a degree.

Ill trust my doctor over anyone who doesnt have a degree.

What are your credentials to speak on this topic?

Basically, we shame women and mothers who take it upon themselves to...

This is what modern PHP looks like "IndyWatch Feed Education"

By Faraz Usmani (Flickr) [CC BY 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

The title is really pretentious, isnt? Yeah, it is. Although Ive been working with PHP for years, how could I state what are the best practices and tools for the job? I couldnt, but Im going to do so.

Im seeing a real change in the way developers are doing their job with PHP, not only is the language drastically changing to become more mature and robust with new versions and improvements, but the entire ecosystem around it is changing.

New tools, libraries, frameworks and articles are being created, patterns are being defined to make code more elegant and easy to understand. Several people are thinking about ways to make the work (and your life as a developer) more productive, clean and fun.

Im not an early adopter of new trends, actually, I only adopt a new tool when Im sure there is a community behind it and I really think it will improve my work. What I always do is try to write my code following the best practices.

Because of that, It took me time to start using things like Composer and PHPUnit. About a year ago, more or less, Ive opened my heart to all those shiny new things.

PSR came first, then Composer, PHPUnit, Travis-ci and several other libraries and amazing tools. Im even using an IDE now (Vim FTW, but PHPStorm with XDebug integration is a must for a sane workflow)!

What is modern?

By Karen Roe (Flickr) [CC BY 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)]

There are tons of articles around the web about how awful PHP is, how your life would be terrible if you had to work with PHP code, how the language is ugly and whatever else you could think of!

If you are going to work with legacy code, maybe your life will not be that good, but if you have the opportunity to work on a new project and are able to use all the new tools, youre going to see this new PHP Im gonna talk about.

I have several problems working with PHP on a daily basis, but one cannot close their eyes to the changes taking place in the language, community and the ecosystem. There is a long road ahead, but things are getting mature in the land of PHP.

I started creating an SDK for an internal API in the company I work for, just as a pet project, and decided to follow best practices. Most of them I was already doing, but Ive made few changes in the way I do...

Significance of the JFK Assassination (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

For those who were of age and alive at the time of the Dallas killing, a fresh memory of the times and era are integral to their assessment. Those who were born later, have no firsthand experience of the actual change that took place to the body politics. Comparing before and after is mostly forgotten by the history accounts. For those who remember, the country started on a downward spiral that continues to the present. The assassination of John F. Kennedy was a political coup dtat and has been described as an enigma with many layers of disinformation. However, peeling back this onion exposes a rot that very much explains the current condition of our country.

When raising the subject of a conspiracy, it is both amusing and tragic that establishment defenders are quick to discredit the investigator, while avoiding facts, evidence and common sense. Solving the mystery

Note: The strong force shifting the waters is the sentience of this planet, which is HIGHLY consciousness and aware of everything happening on her surface, as well as below and in the atmosphere. The planet is undergoing a massive water redistribution event, where its going is anyone guess. Since water is programmable and seawater is cleansing in nature, its probably being recalibrated, recharged and reseeded with new life and sent to areas where its needed for cleansing and transformation. Information from a skilled shaman suggests the Ancient Elemental Ancestors of the planet are working with the earths elemental forces to cleanse aeons of negativity, hauntings, toxins and other mis-creations from the earthly realms. The earth is undergoing a cyclical, alchemical process which is leading to a transformation that is basically beyond our kindergarten level of understanding of the realm in which our consciousness exists. Search for Randall Carsons work on the processional equinox and the Galactic Cross for a greater understanding of the galactic cycles our solar system, sun and earth moves thru over the aeons. Other invisible forces having a great impact on the Earths seasonal climate changes are the Sun and Galactic Cosmic Rays as the sun moves into another Grand Solar Minimum over the next 20-30yrs. 2017 was the first year of the onset of the sun shutting down, leading to global cooling which will result in increasingly brutal winters over the next few years. We are only seeing the birth of extreme anomalys that will be unfolding as time progresses forward into the Eddy Minimum. Blessings, {~A~}

Diallyl sulfide may be effective in reducing ethanol induced injury of cells. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  Drug Chem Toxicol. 2018 Jan 10:1-12. Epub 2018 Jan 10. PMID: 29319385 Abstract Title:  Evaluating the effect of diallyl sulfide on regulation of inflammatory mRNA expression in 3T3L1 adipocytes and RAW 264.7 macrophages during ethanol treatment. Abstract:  Diallyl sulfide (DAS) has been studied extensively for its alleged role as an anticancer and protective agent. Alcohol influences and effects on human health have been extensively studied. However, investigations toward developing and testing therapeutic agents that can reduce the tissue injury caused by ethanol are scarce. In this backdrop, this study was designed to explore the potential effect of DAS in reducing alcohol induced damage of 3T3L1 adipocytes and RAW 264.7 macrophages. MTT [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] assay was performed to determine the DAS effect on cell viability. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) production was assessed by flow cytometer. Expression of inflammatory genes was studied by the qRT-PCR method. Our study results showed that DAS at concentrations less than 200M was not toxic to the cells and the viability of ethanol-exposed 3T3L1 adipocyte cells was found to be significantly increased when ethanol-exposed cells were treated with DAS. Further, treatment of ethanol-exposed 3T3L1 cells with 100M DAS for 24h was found to reduce ethanol induced ROS production, expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and enhance anti-inflammatory cytokine production in the cells. Also, 100M DAS was found to increase the expression of M2 phenotype-specific genes in ethanol-exposed RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. Further, 100M DAS also improved the levels of lipid accumulation in 3T3L1 adipocytes that was down-regulated by ethanol exposure. Taken together, our study results imply that DAS may be effective in reducing ethanol induced injury of cells thereby suggesting its potential to be used in drug formulations.

7 Ways to Finally Let Go of the Person that Doesnt Love You Back "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Because whats worse than knowing you want something, besides knowing you can never have it?
 James PattersonThe Angel Experiment

Sometimes in life, we end up falling for people we simply cannot have. Be it people who are emotionally unavailable or people who are merely not interested in us for whatever reason. These people while some may have led us on still owe us nothing.

That being said, it does not make it hurt any less. Loving someone who does not love you back is one of the most painful things a person can go through. Below you will find a list of things that may help you get over that unrequited love. While our minds want us to be obsessed, we can overcome it.

7 Things That Will Help You Finally Let Go Of That Person Who Refuses to Love You Back:

1. Admit to yourself that this crush is going nowhere.

Dont let yourself continue obsessing. Really take the time to think things through. This crush is not going anywhere if it were it would have by now. You cannot wait around forever.

2. Find something to take your mind off of it.

Get out there and work towards your goals. Find new passions and hobbies. Dont let thinking of this person rule your mind.

3. Remember that if he or she doesnt want you, you cannot change that.

Remind yourself that sometimes people just dont click. This person not being interested in you is not the end of the world. You cant change this persons mind but you can find someone more worth your time.

4. Get your feelings out.

Write everything down and tear it up. Really let all of your emotions out. This feels amazing and will benefit you greatly.

5. Distance yourself from this person.

Dont be around this person any more than you have to. If you are going out of your way to be noticed and still not being noticed there is no point. Be yourself and stop trying to be who you think this person wants.

6. Remind yourself that letting go takes time.

Letting go takes time. You wont be able to forget this person overnight. Just remember that you are doing this for yourself.

7. Meet new people and be realistic.

Meet new people and be more realistic in general. Find someone who doesnt ignore you or make you feel small. Friends...

8 Ways to Differentiate Between Ego and Intuition "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Sure, we all have a voice inside of us but is that voice our intuition or our ego? Well, I believe that depends on what kind of person we are.

You see, our intuition is something that helps to keep us safe, it is our inner guide so to speak. It tells us what is good and what is not. Some people equate their intuition with that of a conscious but again that is something that varies from person to person. That being said, the ego can and will try to disguise itself as intuition and push us to do things we should not do.

When you notice the following things you should be able to tell whether or not your being guided by your ego or your intuition. The ego works in weird ways, and it seems to try to mimic intuition in order to protect itself. Of course, the ego is a very fragile thing.

8 Things That You Need to Know About The Difference Between Ego and Intuition:

1. The ego is loudest.

Your intuition is more like a whisper. It suggests things to you, it is not overwhelming for the most part. Your ego is the loudest voice in your head, easily.

2. Your intuition is a guide, not a bully to be questioned.

Your ego is not one to suggest but more or less one to demand. You will find yourself questioning your ego far more than you would your intuition. Your intuition is not going to be as persistent.

3. Ego directed thoughts are more about the in the moment.

Your ego is more focused on doing things in the moment. For instance, this is going to feel great, I should do it. Your ego does not often think about the big picture.,

4. When you follow your intuition it feels easier.

Following your intuition is not a battle. You rarely have to question your intuition and it comes from a place of peace. I am sure you know exactly what I mean.

5. Intuition is more often a feeling.

Your intuition is not always a voice. Usually, it is a feeling. This feeling can come in many different forms.

6. Intuition does not come with pressure.

Your intuition comes from a place of peace. It doesnt push you in the ways that your ego would. You feel a significant difference.

7. Your ego is much more forceful than your intuition.

Your ego is going to make you do things on a more intense level. Where-as your intuition is not going to be as aggressive. If you have ever been swayed from an egotistical standpoint you know what I mean.

8. Your intuition is...

Some of the reactions are truly insane and show that the vast majority of the mainstream media suffers from extreme cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome and have no problem directly lying to their viewers as long as it is perceived to hurt the president.

The media watchdog website, Grabien News, compiled a list of the most insane comments made in the wake of the Washington Post story and it reads like a story about a bunch of actually crazy human beings pretending to provide political analysis.

A writer at The Root, Jason Johnson, said these comments show Trump is a white supremacist, a terrorist sympathizer, and a danger to non-whites.

The president is a white supremacist, Johnson said Thursday night on MSNBC. Our president is a terrorist sympathizer. Our president is a clear and present danger to nonwhite people in America. Its that simple. Theres no reason to pretend thats not whats going on.

As I noted in a previous report, these type of comments are designed to get someone to eventually attack the sitting president.

MSNBCs Joe Scarborough said Friday morning that Trumps use of the word sh*thole proves his theory that the commander-in-chief is suffering from early-onset dementia.

Let me just say, everybody knows that granddad and grandmom and people with early onset of dementia, I know this, say things that they would have never said five or six years ago, Scarborough said. Just ask members of my family and my mom a...

6 Ways to Rid Yourself of Relationship Anxiety for Good "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Relationships can be far more stressful than we would like for them to be. Thinking too much can and will ruin everything if you let it.

Relationship anxiety is pretty common, and far more common than you would assume. While it is not fun at all, it is perfectly normal. It is more common in people who worry more than others, to begin with, but again, anyone can come down with a case of relationship anxiety. When it comes to overcoming it you wont be able to completely rid yourself of it overnight.

Relationship anxiety can be caused by relationship problems/struggles or even our own insecurities being projected onto our relationships. Regardless of the cause it can be the driving force behind a serious breakup. Being anxious in a relationship does, however, show you care and you as well as your partner should remember that.

Below you will find a list of things that will help you overcome your relationship anxiety. Remember, take baby steps. Things arent going to become perfect overnight but as you build trust things will being to relax.

6 Things You Can Do to Get Rid of Relationship Anxiety:

1. Talk about your anxiety with your partner.

Talking things out with your partner can either resolve the problem or make it worse. If all it does is make things worse, your relationship might not be worth it in the first place. You need to be able to really get things out and come to some kind of understanding.

2. Stop jumping to conclusions about things.

Quit letting everything get to you. Jumping to conclusions is not doing you any good. Either talk things out or let it go.

3. Stop over analyzing things.

Try your best to keep your mind on other things. Your mind is getting the best of you and it is something you will need to work on. Learn to just let things happen as they do.

4. Know that you cannot control everything.

Just because you want to know what is going on constantly does not mean that you can. There are some things in life that we simply cannot control. You need to accept this.

5. Question the relationship and think things over thoroughly one good time.

If you are dealing with an intense amount of relationship anxiety you need to stop for a minute and really think things through. Is this relationship worth the anxiety you feel? Is your partner doing something he or she should not be doing? Where is this anxiety stemming from?

6. Take a step back and relax.

Really let go and relax....

Artist Sells Off Ad Space on a Rauschenberg to Destroy It "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Rendering of the filled-up artwork (all images courtesy Nikolas Bentel)

Artist Nikolas Bentel is on a mission to destroy an original Robert Rauschenberg in a project intended to emphasize how the art market is, in his words, a glorified stock market. Beginning this week, the artist who is part of the New Museum-led incubator New Inc. is selling off sections of the artwork as advertising space, so its surface will eventually be covered with an eclectic assortment of images.

Over the past few years, the art market has become way more interested in the monetary value of famous art pieces rather then their cultural importance, Bentel told Hyperallergic. My project is here to point out this problem by having the art world perform arbitrage on itself.

The original Rauschenberg

The Rauschenberg in question is a signed 1973 print of Sketch for Monogram, which illustrates the artists thought process behind his eponymous combine of a stuffed goat and tire. Bentel does not technically own it yet, but has struck a deal with collector Ho Jae Kim, who agreed to sell the print to Bentel for $10,000. Bentel is now raising the money to slowly buy the entire print, which he will then immediately expunge with ads. One square inch will cost you $92.59.

Its not an entirely original art stunt: Bentel is following in the footsteps of Rauschenberg himself, who erased a drawing by Willem de Kooning (with his consent) in 1953. I was trying to figure out a way to bring drawing into the all-whites, Rauschenberg sa...

6 Red Flags that Indicate Someone Is Trying to Psychologically Manipulate You "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

A lot of people are psychologically manipulated by those close to them in some form or another. If you are being psychologically manipulated, then you most likely wont notice it until it is pointed out.

Manipulators are very good at what they do. Their self-serving behavior and kind words conflict in ways that dont quite make sense to most. Psychological manipulators work to ensure that you are questioning everything. For those who do not know, psychological manipulation is full of different forms of deception and underhanded tactics.

Below you will find a list of things that should stick out big time when it comes to spotting psychological abuse. These things could happen in a romantic relationship or even in a close friendship/family connection. No one is completely closed off from the possibility of being psychologically manipulated.

6 Red Flags That Someone is Trying to Psychologically Manipulate You:

1. This person is constantly guilt tripping you.

This person is always using things against you. If they do something small they want something big in return. Nothing they do is ever out of the kindness of their heart.

2. This person tries to overwhelm you with facts and so forth to sway you to their side.

This person uses anything that they can to convince you to do what it is they want you to do. They dont care if their facts are correct or not, they simply want you to do what they wish. Dont let anyone force you into something.

3. This person gets angry when you dont do what they want you to do.

This person is always getting mad at you when you dont do the things they want you to do. They upset you and yet still you are the one to apologize. Nothing you ever do is good enough for them.

4. This person often pokes fun at you.

This person is constantly making fun of you or joking about things that should not be joked about. He or she will call you fat or ugly or dumb all the while pretending not to mean it. They are not just joking they are trying to wear your self-esteem down and kill your confidence.

5. This person tends to give you the silent treatment when you dont do what they want.

This person will ignore you if you stop doing what he or she wants. If you say no it is as if they disappear. They only come around when they want something and will ghost you until you give in.

In spite of what many people believe, pharmaceutical drugs are not useful to achieve or maintain a healthy state, neither physical nor mental.

Both physical and mental health are closer to everyone than people imagine. Yet, so many people continue to believe that synthetic drugs are the solution to their problems.

Meds provided to the sick by a physician only perpetuate their unhealthy physical state, and those recommended by psychiatrists only aggravate the chemical imbalances in the brain.

The questions are then where do people go when they want to prevent and cure disease or when they want to stay healthy?

The answer is simple. Herbs and spices.

Herbs and spices are in most cases the inspiration for pharmaceutical companies to produce synthetic drugs that they allege treat and cure disease.

Those drugs unsuccessfully attempt to mimic what natural spices and herbs do all by themselves, without the help

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote to Acting Secretary Eric Hargan of the Department of the Health and Human Services (HHS), Commissioner Scott Gottlieb of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Director Jerry Menikoff of the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) concerning news reports of apparently unsanctioned human research testing conducted by Southern Illinois University (SIU) professor William Halford which put individuals at extreme health risk.

Testing involving the use of human subjects in the U.S. is regulated by what is known as the Common Rule. Among other regulations, these include minimizing risk to the subject, selecting subjects equitably, receiving informed consent, continual monitoring and respecting privacy.

News reports indicate that Halford may have violated nearly every requirement of the Common Rule. Emails from the professor reportedly stated that it would be suicide if the manner in which he conducted the research were to be made public.

In his letter to Hargan, Gottlieb and Menikoff, Grassley is seeking information about the status of any ongoing investigation, if any determination has been made as to Halfords culpability, what corrective action is being taken to ensure proper oversight of research on human subjects, an explanation of the reporting process for potentially unapproved research and data about complaints of unapproved research.

Grassley wrote,

Scientists Reveal the Most Effective Way to Lose Weight With the Least Amount of Effort "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The New Year is upon us, and with it comes our New Years Resolutions goals to improve our selves, boost our success and build a better, happier, and more fulfilling life. The most common resolution made in 2017, accounting for 21.4% of the population, was to lose weight.

Each year we see it an influx of people joining diet programs, weight loss centers, and their local gym. Each of them is well meaning, however, with a large amount of conflicting information and misinformation currently circulating the internet it is hard for the general public to even know where to start.

The key to effective weight loss is to stop and reconsider what you are eating. In todays society, many of us are enjoying a diet of processed, sugar filled, high-fat foods including many frozen meals, sugary snacks, and fast food. If you want to see results faster, go back to the fuel that you are providing your body. Shawn M. Talbott, PhD, a nutritional biochemist and a former director of the University of Utah Nutrition Clinic explains:

As a rule of thumb, weight loss is generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise. An analysis of more than 700 weight loss studies found that people see the biggest short-term results when they eat smart. On average, people who dieted without exercising for 15 weeks lost 23 pounds; the exercisers lost only six over about 21 weeks. Its much easier to cut calories than to burn them off. For example, if you eat a fast-food steak quesadilla, which can pack 500-plus calories, you need to run more than four miles to undo it!

Source: Public Domain Pictures | Pexels

The message makes sense if you are starting by putting the wrong fuel into your body, you are actually working against yourself. You can run for hours on the treadmill, but by eating it all back (plus more) you are not only slowing your progress, you may actually be gaining weight! Instead, by eliminating some of the high fat, high sugar, high-calorie foods that we indulge in on a regular basis we can increase our chances of seeing a difference. In fact, you may even see a difference without adding to your current level of physical activity.

Philip Stanforth, a professor of exercise science at the University of Texas and the executive director of the Fitness Institute of Texas explained that the biggest mistake most people make is overvaluing the results of their workouts. Too often people fall into the trap of believing that their workout is burning hundreds of calories when they are ma......

Health and Nutritional Benefits of Palm Oil "IndyWatch Feed Food"

This is the fourth post in a series uncovering Palm Oil what it is, where it comes from, how and where its used, the health benefits and the often-confusing controversy around the topic. Given that its so prevalent in the supply chain, its important to understand the impact of palm oil in order to make informed choices, for the environment, for social justice, and for your health. Learn more about the positive benefits of sustainably sourced palm oil by visiting www.palmdoneright.com.

Saturated fat, often demonized as being unhealthy, is finally making a comeback. The fear around saturated fat began in the 1950s with inaccurate data linking saturated fat/cholesterol with rising rates of heart disease. Despite the widely accepted idea that plant-based saturated fat leads to heart disease, there is a lack of evidence proving this, and quite a bit of evidence supporting the opposite. In fact, Recent research has shown, that eating saturated fat may actually be important for preventing heart disease. Saturated fats are solid at room temperature, and are more stable than unsaturated fats. Saturates tolerate higher temperatures during processing and for use in cooking. Recent studies show that plant-based saturates consumed in balance with Essential Omega 3 and 6 fats, serve as an important source of energy for the body and aid in the absorption of vitamins and minerals.

Changing the oils in your diet can be an important first step to improving your physical and mental state. Optimal health is achieved from a balanced intake of good fats, which primarily come from plant sources, and limited amount of bad fats, which primarily come from animal sources or hydrogenated oils. There is ample evidence that eating more healthy fats can improve heart, brain, skin and immune health, plus support healthy weight loss. Palm and coconut oil are significant contributors of saturated fat to the diet.  Predominantly used in the East, these oils, particularly coconut oil, are now gaining more attention in the Western world, in part due to the medium-chain triglyceride content which has been shown to exert positive metabolic effects.

Why Palm Oil

For generations, red palm oil has been revered as both a nutritious food and a valuable medicine. It was prized by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt as a sacred food. The oil was so highly valued it was entombed with the pharaohs so they would have access to it in the afterlife.

Red palm oil is the...

Returning to a Gold Standard Why and How. "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Author: Dr Fraser Murrell, Melbourne Australia
First Posted: Thursday , 20 Nov 2014

In the 1600s, Sir Isaac Newton presided over a (bi-metal) Gold and Silver Standard, with the flaw being the fix of silver to gold. In the 1900s, John Maynard Keynes revolutionized economics, with the result being certain economic collapse. In both cases there was a logical error in the key definition of price, which is critical to the stability of the economy. This note examines the problem and then goes on to present a workable Gold Standard, which it is argued, is the most stable frame of reference for our economy.

It includes two decades of occupation by U.S. Marines, a time when free Haitians were conscripted into chain gangs and shot dead for attempting to escape. It includes hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to a father-son dictatorship whose three-decade reign ruined the countrys economy and murdered thousands of citizens. And it includes a foreign aid faucet that continues to flow today, despite the ill incentives it creates.

Dem Running For Illinois AG Robbed At Gunpoint During Chicago Photo Shoot
Posted By Will Racke On 1:44 PM 01/12/2018 In | No Comments

A Democratic candidate for Illinois attorney general was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight on Thursday, receiving an unpleasant surprise during an afternoon campaign photo shoot on Chicagos northwest side.
Aaron Goldstein, 42, and several members of his campaign team were in the middle of taking promotional photos when they were robbed by three men, reports the Chicago Tribune. The incident occurred in the Albany Park neighborhood, where Goldstein is a resident and ward committeeman.
Police say one of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the camera equipment and other personal belongings from Goldstein and his team. Nobody was physically harmed in the robbery, that police believe was a crime of opportunity and not a targeted assault.
The campaign was doing the photo shoot on a street in Albany Park to capture an in-the-neighborhood kind of image, said Goldsteins campaign manager Robert Murphy. Team members didnt expect the hometown vibe to come with a taste of Chicagos infamous street crime.

So, as far as the campaign, we are moving forward, Murphy said, according to the Tribune. Basically, this was a totally a random act of violence in the community. But when it happens to you, of course, youre shooken up.
Though Albany Park is not known as one of Chicagos more dangerous neighborhoods, it has been the scene of a recent spate of armed robberies similar to Thursdays incident with the Goldstein team. Two suspects carried out six separate street robberies in late November and early December, flashing handguns and demanding money from the victims, according to a crime alert released by the Chicago Police Department.
The suspects in those incidents were described as African-American males in their early 20s. The three men who robbed Goldstein were also described as being between 20 and 24 years old, but police have not released a detailed description of the suspects.

These results demonstrate that diallyl sulfide ameliorates cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  Clin Exp Pharmacol Physiol. 2017 Dec 20. Epub 2017 Dec 20. PMID: 29266336 Abstract Title:  Diallyl sulfide alleviates cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in Rats via suppressing NF-B downstream inflammatory proteins and p53/Puma signaling pathway. Abstract:  Despite being a potent anticancer drug, nephrotoxicity is an adverse effect which renders the clinical use of cisplatin (Cis) limited. The protective role of diallyl sulfide (DAS); a naturally occurring organo-sulfide, present in garlic, in cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity has been reported earlier. However, the mechanism through which DAS exerts its nephroprotective activity remains elusive. The aim of the current study was to elucidate the possible mechanisms underlying the reno-protective effect of DAS in cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats. DAS was given at two dose levels; 50 and 100 mg/kg, orally for 4 consecutive days, starting one hour after administration of single dose of cisplatin (3.5 mg/kg, i.p.). The Cis-induced elevation in serum urea and creatinine, degree of histopathological alterations was significantly ameliorated in cisplatin groups co-treated with DAS. In addition, DAS significantly restored Cis-depleted glutathione (GSH) content and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and attenuated Cis-elevated Malondialdehyde (MDA) level. Also, DAS significantly reduced Cis-increased renal expression of nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-B) and subsequent proinflammatory mediators; tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-), interleukin-1 (IL-1), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in kidney tissues. Moreover, co-treatment with DAS significantly inhibited Cis-increased caspase-8 and-9 levels. Additionally, DAS significantly mitigated Cis-induced protein expression of p53, Puma, and Bax while, it significantly restored Cis-reduced protein expression of Bcl-xL compared to the Cis group. In conclusion, these results demonstrate that DAS ameliorates cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats through enhancement of antioxidant defense, reduction of inflammatory cytokine tissue levels as well as inhibition of apoptosis via p53/Puma signaling pathway. Black garlic may play a role as an antioxidant agent that prevents the prefrontal cortex from glutamate-induced oxidative stress. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  Drug Chem Toxicol. 2017 Dec 27:1-6. Epub 2017 Dec 27. PMID: 29280389 Abstract Title:  The effects of black garlic on the working memory and pyramidal cell number of medial prefrontal cortex of rats exposed to monosodium glutamate. Abstract:  Monosodium glutamate-induced exitotoxicity causes oxidative stress in many brain areas, including the medial prefrontal cortex. The ethanolic garlic (Allium sativum) extract is considered as a neuroprotective substance. The present study aimed at investigating the effects of the ethanolic fermented garlic extract on the working memory and the pyramidal cell number of the medial prefrontal cortex of adolescent male Wistar rats exposed to monosodium glutamate (MSG). Twenty-five rats were randomly divided into five groups. The C- group was given 0.9% NaCl solution. The C+group was given 2mg/g bw of MSG. The T1, T2, and T3 groups were given MSG and garlic extract (0.0125, 0.025, and 0.05mg/g bw, respectively). All treatments were conducted for 10days. The working memory capability of the rats was measured using Y-maze test. The total number of pyramidal cells of the medial prefrontal cortex was estimated using physical fractionator method. The working memory performances of the T1, T2, and T3 groups were significantly better than that of the C+group. There were no significant differences between groups in the estimated total number of pyramidal cell of medial prefrontal cortex. The MSG may not cause the death of neurons, but it may modify neuronal architectures that are sufficient to disrupt memory functions. Black garlic may play a role as an antioxidant agent that prevents the prefrontal cortex from glutamate-induced oxidative stress. It is concluded that the ethanolic fermented garlic extract prevented the working memory impairment following MSG administration.

Fujifilm Lenses Have Quality Control Issues: Reports "IndyWatch Feed Photography"

Fujifilm may have a quality control issue on their hands. Two reports have emerged this month of new Fujifilm lenses arriving with sizable dust specks, cracks, and excessive variations between copies.

Photography Life reported on January 3rd that they discovered multiple samples of a number of lenses having debris between lens elements that is impossible for the photographer to remove without having the lens serviced at a repair center.

While I am generally happy about lens variation of GF lenses and I am especially happy with their excellent performance, I am not a big fan of Fujifilms QA processes, writes Nasim Mansurov. It seems to me that Fuji is almost rushing with the medium format GF lenses, trying to deliver as many units as possible to try to match the demand, while paying less attention to its manufacturing processes.

Mansurov says he has found that this issue is particularly rampant in Fuji GF lenses. For one lens, the GF 110mm f/2, Mansurov had to return two different copies in search of one that was dust-free.

Whats more, Mansurov has found that cheaper Fujifilm lenses have too much quality variation between copies of the same lens.

[C]heaper lenses like the GF 45mm f/2.8 and GF 63mm f/2.8 have shown more variation than I would like to see, he says. The lens to watch out is the GF 32-64mm f/4. While it is a pretty solid performer overall, the samples I have tested so far had uneven corner to corner performance, indicating poor assembly / decentering issues.

T.Mickauskas: Bitcoinus Will Rule the Blockchain Payments in 2 Years "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Global e-commerce revenues rise at around 20% annually and the pace should continue this way for at least several years to come. This year the numbers should exceed $3 trillion level when we combine all worldwide sales expectations.

Now if we look at currently absolutely astonishing increase in capitalization of cryptocurrencies, there are a few assumptions to be made. Since 2017, Bitcoin alone rose over 1400% in value it gets very tempting and obvious that more and more retail consumers going to switch to cryptocurrencies. Most of them will maintain the focus on the growth of their capital. However, a very common practice is to spend a little bit of gain on small retail purchases and the trend has only started to appear.

E-commerce continues to skyrocket

Online purchases in most cases compile to around 10% of all global retail sales. The number is also growing every year and the future is clear the e-commerce will eventually dominate the market. While according to Statista, over 19% of all sales were online based in China it only adds up to around 6,7% in Japan. The numbers are projected to increase at least 15% every year.

Switching back to cryptocurrencies, it is important to note that only a tiny fraction of e-commerce companies offer payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other altcoin. The overall industry of online crypto payments is far away from exceeding 1% of all transactions.

Bitcoinus is an online crypto processing company targeting this once in a lifetime market opportunity to expand at an incredible pace.

Media attention to blockchain based products and specifically cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin is overwhelming. The reality, on the other hand, is that the real revolution and the switch to this form of financial freedom is yet to happen. We started Bitcoinus to help people and businesses to maximize their gains by utilizing blockchain technology. It is now or never and between the two, we chose NOW.  Says Tomas Mickauskas, the founder of Bitcoinus.

Crypto Payments in Every E-Shop

The main idea beyond Bitcoinus is to make all types of cryptocurrencies available to retail customers wishing to buy any item online with their bank cards. Beyond the complex process of transaction lies the simplicity of two click payment.  An individual will no longer need to go through a long and exhausting process of buying cryptos, storing...

6 Signs that Reveal You Were Reincarnated Into Your Current Life "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

I did not begin when I was born, nor when I was conceived. I have been growing, developing, through incalculable myriads of millenniums All of my previous selves have their voices, echoes, promptings in me Oh, incalculable times again shall I be born. Jack London

A belief that exists across many different cultures and religions, reincarnation has captivated people for thousands of years. Also referred to as transmigration or metempsychosis, the theory of reincarnation refers to the fact that while we experience a bodily death, our consciousness, or soul, continues to live on moving onto its next existence. While some believe that this rebirth occurs only through human lives, others believe in differing existences including human, animal or even vegetable.

It is often believed that if you have been reincarnated into this life, it occurred as there is something you need to learn, accomplish or understand in this life. You could be here for the purpose of assisting others in their spiritual journeys, providing valuable knowledge and guidance. You may be here for the purposes of righting a wrong from a previous life, freeing yourself from the bad karma that you are currently carrying around with you.

While your soul may have lived many lives, these memories are not as readily available as the memory of what we did on our last birthday. Locked away in our subconscious, they present themselves in far more subtle and sometimes difficult to recognize ways such as familiar smells or sounds, or feelings of deja-vu.

Do you believe that you have been reincarnated into this life? Pay attention to these 6 signs:

#1 Its hard to pull the wool over your eyes.

You have experienced life a few times over, and with that experience comes a wisdom and knowledge that makes it incredibly easy to fool you. While you may not consciously recall your past lives, you have an incredibly well-developed sense of intuition. Listening to this...

Antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of various Greek garlic genotypes. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  Food Chem. 2018 Apr 15 ;245:7-12. Epub 2017 Oct 16. PMID: 29287429 Abstract Title:  Antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of various Greek garlic genotypes. Abstract:  Recent studies show a significant variation in antioxidant and antimicrobial properties between the various garlic genotypes mostly due to differences in chemical composition and bioactive compounds content. The aim of the present study was to evaluate antioxidant properties and antimicrobial activity of garlics collected from the main cultivation areas of Greece, as well as to correlate this activity with their total phenolics content. Genotype G5 showed the highest total phenolics content, which was significantly correlated with the lowest EC50 values for all the tested antioxidant activity assays. Antimicrobial activity was significant, especially against the bacteria Proteus mirabilis and Antibiotic resistant Escherichia coli. In conclusion, significant variation was observed between the studied garlic genotypes, indicating the importance of both growing conditions and genotype on bioactive properties of dry garlic bulbs. This variation could be further exploited in breeding programs in order to select elite genotypes with increased bioactive properties.

January 16th-17th: How the New Moon in Capricorn Will Bring About Harmony and Progress "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The energies of this month have been quite intense thus-far and will continue to grow until the full moon at the end of the month. That being said, the new moon coming up in just a few days is going to bring about a lot of things we need to be aware of.

New moons come once each month as the moon orbits our planet. On the day of the new moon, we dont really see the new moon. This is because the new moon rises when the sun rises and sets when the sun sets. Its face is turned away from us.

via GIPHY

During this new moon, energies will be conflicting. While we have been pushed towards something we will now be pulled backward in some unexpected ways. We will be forced to think about things that we have not thought about in years and for some that is much easier said than done. This energy will however also push us to move forward once everything is completed.

This specific new moon will be in Capricorn and will represent love and bring about harmony as will be able to stable out any relationship turbulence you have been experiencing. If you do not let this energy overwhelm you and you use it correctly things will work out just fine. You must be ready to receive love though as it is what you will be giving.

While the Capricorn is a practical sign overall it is going to be bringing about some very bold things inside of you. You have all the skills you need to reach the highest mountains. The leap of progress you will be making during the days to come will be amazing. Before this new moon, you should as you would with any astrological even remember to cleanse your aura and ensure you are properly grounded.

There is a lot more to the moon than most are willing to admit. I for one am looking forward to this energy and will be using it to my advantage.

23 Common Realizations People Have After They Stop Drinking Alcohol "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Alcohol has earned a place of prevalence in our society included in every holiday and event from weddings and celebrations to Christmas Parties and New Years Eve. Accepted by society, with the majority of American indulging in it at one time or another, for many, alcohol is as normal as pizza or coffee.

The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) revealed that 86% of American adults drank alcohol at some point over the course of their lifetime, with 70% reporting that drank in the year proceeding the survey.

With the consumption of alcohol so deeply entrenched in our day to day lives, it is much harder for people to walk away and live a dry lifestyle. They may face judgment, intense peer pressure, condescending comments or even a decline in invitations to take part in social events. Despite these challenges, the choice to go alcohol-free also comes with some big health benefits. Whether you are considering giving up alcohol, you have already taken the first steps, or you are currently living a dry lifestyle, you will experience a new reality in your life post-alcohol.

Here are 23 things that former drinkers realize after they quit drinking alcohol:

#1 You will enjoy an improved relationship with sleep falling asleep faster and more soundly, sleeping through the night and feeling far better rested when you wake the next morning.

#2 As your bank account grows (no longer drained due to financing your drinking habits) you will enjoy having some extra cash to spend on the fun things in your life.

#3 While quitting will be difficult at first, in time you will discover that sobriety becomes easier and more natural.

#4 By removing the influence of alcohol you will begin to discover your real personality. This may be startling at first, however, as you acknowledge and accept the true you, it will be...

UFOs are REAL and use new energy that could change our future expert "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Jan Harzan, one of the worlds top UFO investigators, said his organisation had proved over the past 50 years that flying saucers really exist.

Mr Harzan is executive director of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the worlds biggest organisation dedicated to UFO and alien research.

The US-based organisation maintains a database of sightings that is updated daily, with many cases investigated.

It has so far analysed more than 100,000 UFO cases.

Many are explained away, but the organisation says around five percent have no earthly explanation.

Mr Harzan was speaking in response to recent revelations that the US Government ploughed millions of dollars into a top-secret investigation into the potential threat posed by UFOs.

He said: MUFON has been investigating and researching the UFO phenomenon since 1969.

The groups analysis of over 100,000 UFO reports over the past five decades has shown three things to be true:

TURNING POINT: Jan Harzan of MUFON says his organisation has proved UFOs are real advanced tech.

One, UFOs are real; two, UFOs represent extremely advanced technology and, three, tremendous breakthroughs will happen if we make it safe for our scientists and engineers to study this phenomenon unimpeded.

Jan Harzan

One, UFOs are real; two, UFOs represent extremely advanced technology and, three, tremendous breakthroughs will happen if we make it safe for our scientists and engineers to study this phenomenon unimpeded.

These breakthroughs involve the fields of propulsion, energy, communication, biology and consciousness, to name just a few.

Many UFO believers are convinced that UFOs are powered by a free energy system that has no cost to produce.

There is a growing conspiracy theory that the US Government already knows how to harness this power after allegedly recovering a crashed UFO at Roswell in 1947.

However, the theory claims that those behind the fossil fuel industry have surpressed its existence so they can continue to cash in on the polluting power source.

It come...

A Tlingit Artists Contemporary Take on Her Vanishing Culture "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Installation view of Alison Marks: One Gray Hair at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle (all images courtesy the Frye Art Museum and the artist)

SEATTLE In 2000, a wooden Tlingit bear mask was sent into outer space with an American astronaut, aboard a Russian spacecraft. It orbited the Earth for four months on the International Space Station before returning to its home, in Alaska. I learned of this in Alison Markss exhibition One Gray Hair, at Seattles Frye Art Museum. The Tlingit artists painting Space Bear (2017) references this journey with a silver formline rendering of the bear mask and a neon-green, alien-like figure engaged in a surreal dialogue in outer space. The lunar sky and alien forms sci-fi familiarity at first lent the piece a natural lightness, infused with the optimism of space travels portrayals in mainstream popular culture. However, after reading the backstory and considering the colonization of the Tlingit people by the US and Russia, the paintings underlying darkness emerged. I became fixated on the other side of space travel the fatalities, losses, and loneliness that so often underlay journeys and conquests. The mask started to feel more like Laika, the Russian dog sent into space who only survived a few hours before falling victim to overheating a captured being, violently taken away from her home, left to wonder how she ended up in a place so unfamiliar and ultimately so tragic.
