New Attack on Raw Milk "IndyWatch Feed Health"

The feds persist in curtailing free and organic enterprise. Action Alert!

Following the case of a single woman who became sick from Brucella, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning urging anyone who has drunk raw milk in the past six months to go to a doctor immediately.

Its the second time this year the CDC has warned about raw milk. Earlier, the agency responded to proposals in Montana and Iowa that would loosen restrictions on the sale of raw milk in that state. The FDA has banned the interstate sale or distribution of raw milk, and has taken an aggressive stance towards raw milk purveyors.

The vendetta against raw milk is completely unjustified. As our friends at the Weston A. Price Foundation point out in their campaign for real milk, raw milk has a proven safety record and has shown to be superior to pasteurized milk in protecting against infection, diarrhea, rickets, tooth decay, and tuberculosis. Children drinking raw milk also have better growth rates than those drinking pasteurized milk.

ANHUSA believes consumers should have the right to access non-processed foods, and farmers should be able to offer these products directly to consumers. Americans should be able to educate themselves about any risks versus benefits, and make their own decisions without being hassled by the government.

Why the hostility toward raw milk? The way we see it, the FDA prefers to concentrate food and drug production in the hands of a few large companies with which the agency has close ties. But favoring large producers over family and artisanal producers does not make our food any safer. On the contrary, it makes it less nutritious, makes commerce less free, and also invites more corruption as powerful companies grow rich from government-created monopolies.

Following President Trumps call to eliminate burdensome or duplicative regulations, ANH has suggested, among other things, that the FDA relent on its raw milk ban, and instead allow for labeling of raw milk products. Such labeling would alert consumers to the risks associated with consuming unpasteurized milk products, and provide directions for how to home pasteurize raw milk to avoid those risks. With such labelin...

Cartoon Competition & Exhibition: The Art of Resistance "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

TAoR logo blog

We're inviting cartoonists from around the globe to send in their work for a new international cartoon competition and exhibition with the theme resistance. Send in your work to

"What would you do?" - may be the most asked question when we talk about oppression and resistance during World War II. Many of us wonder: what would I do under those circumstances?

Resistance is not a simple choice. The outcome of resistance is never clear, and the consequences of such a decision could be dire, to you, or, perhaps even worse, to your family.

Great ideals such as (fighting for) freedom, democracy and human rights are often associated with resistance, but perhaps the human conscience is the most important motivator for us to take action, to resist when we see our fellow humans facing injustice and or repression. Not resisting out of a love for exalted values, but out of a sense of responsibility for the people around you.

In the age of Trump, growing inequality, corporate greed and rising populism, resistance is still as relevant as ever. Show us your way to resist in a cartoon!

Rules of Participation

1. This competition is open to all cartoonists from all over the world. Cartoonists can send in work that  is unpublished, or work that has been published before.
2. The cartoons should reflect the theme resistance.
3. Cartoon can black and white or in color, and be created using any technique.
4. Cartoons must be sent in via email to
5. Cartoon size must not exceed A3 at 300dpi, in PNG or JPG format.
6. Each cartoonist can send in a maximum of three works.
7. Participants must include the following in their submission:
        - Full name & address.
        - Email & telephone number.
        - Short bio (max. 250 words).
8. The deadline of the competition is February 23, 2018, 23:59 GMT.

Silicone Valleys Working Homeless Shows How Hard Life Is In Democrats Paradise "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Silicone Valley is the home to tech giants like Facebook, Apple, and Google. Its also home to a surging working homeless population who live in dilapidated RVs, tents, and their own cars, all thanks to the policies Democrats love to implement.

The surging number of those working in Silicone Valley and still unable to afford adequate housing should be a warning about big government, but it sure doesnt seem like anyone is taking notice as their taxes continue to rise. As governments creep toward socialism though, poverty becomes the norm, not the exception. Silicon Valley has the highest median income in the nation. But a soaring tax burden and expensive regulations have caused housing prices to increase which has also caused homelessness to surge.

More than 10,000 people were living without shelter across San Jose and Santa Clara Counties on any given night in 2016, though that figure is probably low. Thanks to big government, the cost of living is not low. An influx of tech workers along with decades of under-building (thanks again to the regulations of big government) has created a historic homelessness in the Bay Area.

The governments in California continue to attempt to control deadly Hepatitis A outbreaks caused by a booming homeless population and usually do so by taking even more from those who actually work. The cycle will continue: socialists governments will put a cheap band-aid on the gaping wound they created themselves.

Rather than freeing poor people from dependence on benefactors and bosses, they merely transfer the dependence to the state, leaving the least politically connected people at the mercy of the political process. &#821...

Introducing #15by15, My Wife's Life Skill Challenge For Our (And Your) Family "IndyWatch Feed Food"

Our family's current week's meal plan as laid out by our 10 year old on Sunday (it's a magnetic whiteboard that lives on our fridge)
Today's guest post comes from my wonderful wife Stacey who has recently implemented a new challenge for us - she calls it #15by15 - where 15 is the minimum number of meals we want each of our kids to know how to make, entirely by themselves, by the age of 15.
Fifteen by fifteen. Thats what I told my kids when they recently helped to make our menu plan for the week, and this time were instructed to add in one meal each that they would cook from scratch, with or without my help.

Im not going to lie, there was some whining. My three kids, now aged eight, ten and thirteen, have been helping to create menu plans that include breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner and even treats for several years now (ht stands for "Halloween Treat" - they generally last them an entire year), as well as cooking with me and/or my husband. The kids take turns doing this from week to week because they recognize that we all have different favourites, and they want to make sure that theirs are included.

Our kids also recognize that for a household to run well, and for their mom to yell less (because, well, life is stressful enough without having to worry about each meal and snack that comes next), we all need to pitch in and help. This includes other household chores, like doing the laundry, loading and unloading the dishwasher, setting and clearing the table, taking care of the cat's food and litter, and taking out the trash, among others. My kids know that while these are not particularly fun activities, they are life skills, and that they arent likely to be taught how to do them anywhere but home.

In my mind, perhaps the most important of all of these life skills, is the skill of cooking.

From the time my kids were old enough to provide constructive criticism of mine or my husbands cooking escapades, they have also been asking that we teach them how to make particular favourites before they move out. And so, with th...

The Dialogues: Illustrated Conversations About the Most Thrilling Frontiers of Science by Theoretical Physicist and Self-Taught Artist Clifford Johnson

Words are events, they do things, change things, Ursula K. Le Guin wrote in extolling the magic of real human conversation. They transform both speaker and hearer; they feed energy back and forth and amplify it. They feed understanding or emotion back and forth and amplify it. Such unsurpassed amplification of understanding is why dialogue has reigned as monarch of thought-transformation at least since the days of Plato. It is not coincidental that Galileo reconfigured our understanding of the universe in a revolutionary treatise he titled Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems, nor that it was in dialogue James Baldwin and Margaret Mead reached insight into the question of race tenfold deeper and more nuanced than anything todays ping-pong of opinions produces.

That mighty conduit of understanding is what English theoretical physicist and Scientific Controversies alumnus Clifford Johnson employs in The Dialogues: Conversations about the Nature of the Universe (...

The Periodic Table of Endangered Elements: Visualizing the Chemical Elements That Could Vanish Before You Know It "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The Periodic Table of Elements lists the 118 chemical elements that make up everything in our world. Some you're familiar with--Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, etc. Others maybe less so--Vanadium, Germanium and Yttrium.

According to the American Chemical Society, 44 of those 118 elements might disappear by century's end. Enter the Periodic Table of Endangered Elements (shown above). The most endangered ones, highlighted in red, are Zinc, Gallium, Germanium, Arsenic (is this a good or very bad thing?), Silver, Indium, Tellurium, and Hafnium. How and why you should use Python Generators "IndyWatch Feed Education"

Image Credit: Beat Health Recruitment

Generators have been an important part of Python ever since they were introduced with PEP 255.

Generator functions allow you to declare a function that behaves like an iterator.

They allow programmers to make an iterator in a fast, easy, and clean way.

Whats an iterator, you may ask?

An iterator is an object that can be iterated (looped) upon. It is used to abstract a container of data to make it behave like an iterable object. You probably already use a few iterable objects every day: strings, lists, and dictionaries to name a few.

An iterator is defined by a class that implements the Iterator Protocol. This protocol looks for two methods within the class: __iter__ and __next__.

Whoa, step back. Why would you even want to make iterators?

Saving memory space

Iterators dont compute the value of each item when instantiated. They only compute it when you ask for it. This is known as lazy evaluation.

Lazy evaluation is useful when you have a very large data set to compute. It allows you to start using the data immediately, while the whole data set is being computed.

Lets say we want to get all the prime numbers that are smaller than a maximum number.

We first define the function that checks if a number is prime:

def check_prime(number):
for divisor in range(2, int(number ** 0.5) + 1):
if number % divisor == 0:
return False
return True

Then, we define the iterator class that will include the __iter__ and __next__ methods:

class Primes:
def __init__(self, max):
self.max = max
self.number = 0
    def __iter__(self):
return self
    def __next__(self):
self.number += 1
if self.number >= self.max:
raise StopIteration
elif check_prime(self.number):
return self.number
return self.__next__()

Primes is instantiated with a maximum value. If the next prime is greater than the max, the iterator will raise a StopIteration exception, which ends the iterator.

When we requ...

The Important Drugs Debate Question That Nobodys Asking "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In this piece for Vice, Max Daly explores the impact of societal attitudes toward drug use and drug users on the drug policy debate over prohibition versus legalization.

Weve always affected our own body chemistry, whether it be through sex, alcohol, masturbation or even reading, and such practices have been regulated and controlled over time, particularly through religion. In the 18th century it was thought that reading novels was bad because it could inflame our passions or control our minds. At the time, reading would have been seen as an inauthentic high, much like the way drug use is seen today.

The use of drugs as a shortcut to personal reward feeling the pleasure without the pain is the main reason people distrust drug users, rather than the fact they are law breakers. Angus Bancroft, an expert on drugs and society and a senior lecturer in Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, says this probably originated in the Protestant work ethic, but has morphed more recently into what it says about the self.

Licensed to Bill: How Doctors Profit From Injury Assessments "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From The Globe and Mail: Doctors are making millions of dollars a year by providing independent medical evaluations of accident victims for the auto-insurance industry. Some of these evaluations unfairly discredit injury claims, leaving victims destitute of the financial resources to pay for medical treatment.

Richard Hershberg has been a psychiatrist for 36 years. He met Ms. Nemchin once and then reported to the insurance company her PTSD from the accident couldnt be that bad, because she was able to move to B.C. from Ontario to live on her own.

Two years after writing that, he conceded in court she had never moved out west and he actually didnt nail it down, along with other mistakes and omissions. The CV he put into evidence stated he was a senior psychiatrist at a local clinic. In court, he admitted that was inaccurate and that he earned 90 per cent of his income at $600 an hour doing IMEs.

If Ms. Nemchin hadnt taken her case all the way to court, none of that would have been discovered.

Friend to Spend Next Four Months Telling You How Insufferable Ready Player One Is "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

LANSING, Mich. Chuck Cottington, a friend you havent liked in years, has made it clear that he will be voicing unrelenting criticism for the upcoming Ready Player One film adaptation until its release next March, prompted or not, according to close sources.

That book is absolute gutter trash, said Cottington, in an unsolicited phone call late last night.  You cant just roll a bunch of fan service and nostalgia together and trick me into thinking thats exciting.  Can you think of anything more annoying?!

Cottington has been vocal about his disapproval for the franchise since Ernest Clines novel was initially published six years ago. Many sources have reported that he is generally the one to bring it up in conversation.

hello "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

Havent been so well, so Im (reluctantly) having to take looking after myself really seriously this month. Im making sure I stay in touch with people, doing everything I can to not beat myself up for being snail in wet concrete on valium levels of slow with work and life, and I even started doing yoga (which is how I know Im really desperate) because I was getting horrible tension headaches and migraines every day due to stress, and painkillers were doing fuckity all. (For anyone interested I do it at home in the kitchen in my pyjamas with this woman, whos kinda great and really gentle.) Taking an active role in your well-being when you are lacking motivation is knackering.

The best thing about being depressed to the backdrop of intense bouts of hypochondria and panic is that half of you gets to sit there petrified that youre dying the entire time, the other half is like Oh, I do hope so and the third half is just bawling at them both. Being mentally ill doesnt only involve being mentally ill; you also have to be your own advocate, treatment coordinator and crisis manager with increasing amounts of self-reliance because formal support on the NHS is now so scant. What is there is stupidly hard and slow to access, hopelessly time-limited or is simply non-existent (because yknow, Jeremy Hunt by and large wants disabled people wiped out) which leaves you on your own a lot of the time just doing your best to ride it out. I commend anyone else who is struggling with this, you are not alone.

Yesterday I realised I needed to do some art that was therapeutic rather than work-related/for anyone else. Some people do colouring books with the nice swirly patterns, but for me its more of a KIND HORSE WITH LONG HAIR SOLVE ILLNESS thing:

Also I am 24 tomorrow and god has blessed me with the mother of all coldsores, I think as a reminder that I will still be suffering with the skin of a sad youth into my mid-20s

Anyhow, thanks for reading. Stick with it (thats to myself and to you) x

Bitcoin Price Watch; Playing The Intraday Volatility "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Anybody found themselves holding bitcoin over the last few days is undoubtedly having a pretty great close to the week. Things have moved incredibly far and high in just a few short hours in the bitcoin price and, across some of the most well-known exchanges, bitcoin broke $15,000 apiece overnight last night.

Its time for us to put some levels together that we can try and use to draw a profit from the market on an intraday basis right now so were going to jump straight into it so as to avoid missing out on any of the volatility that is coming at us thick and fast currently.

As ever, then, take a quick look at the chart below before we get started so as to get an idea what happened overnight and where things stand as we head into the European session this morning. The chart is a one-minute candlestick chart and it has our primary range overlaid in green.

As the chart shows, the range that we are using for the session today comes in as defined by support to the downside at 14578 and resistance to the upside at 14746. This is a pretty wide range, so intrarange trading is an option as things stand. Specifically, long on a bounce from support towards a target of resistance and, conversely, short on a correction from resistance towards a target of support.

Looking at things from a breakout perspective, if we see price close above resistance, we will enter long towards an immediate upside target of 14800. A stop loss on the trade at 14730 defines risk nicely.

Looking the other way, if price closes below support, it will signal a downside trade with an immediate short target of 14510. Again we need a stop loss on the position and somewhere in the region of 14600 looks like it should do the trick.

Lets see how things play out.

FULL ARTICLE Benjamin Fulford 12-4-17 U.S. military to declare martial law as DOJ, FBI criminality exposed "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Full weekly report from Ben. Pretty astounding report. Agin, its indicative that things are really happening for the benefit of this planet.

The U.S. military government, known to the world as the administration of President Donald Trump, is about to declare martial law, Pentagon sources say. The Cabal has been checkmated, as Trump is ready to federalize the National Guard in case of riots or civil unrest Such radical action is necessary, Because of corrupt judges appointed by [former U.S. President Barack] Obama and a Congress stacked with shills for Israel

The other big news from last week is that the U.S. Dover Air Force base was hit last with a nuclear weapon or the equivalent. The attack was described as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake in the corporate media. However, the earthquake had all the hallmarks of a nuclear or beam weapon attack Although the attack took place the day after North Korea announced it had ICBMs that could hit anywhere in the U.S., Pentagon sources are saying this was part of the undeclared civil war inside the military-industrial complex.

There was also visible evidence last week of at the very least, a low-earth-orbit space war going on, as what Pentagon sources describe as rogue satellites were de-orbited. This may have appeared in the news...

Andreas Antonopoulos Receives a $550,000 Bitcoin Donation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Most people in Bitcoin are familiar with Andreas Antonopoulos. He is a great speaker at events, successful author, and doesnt get involved in Bitcoin politics. However, one thing most people dont know is how he isnt a Bitcoin millionaire. That is slowly starting to change, thanks to a new donation campaign by the Bitcoin community.

A lot of people are surprised Andreas Antonopoulos hasnt made millions off Bitcoin. Most people who got involved during the early days and are still around make a good amount of money. At the same time, some of us have to work for our money paid in Bitcoin and use that money to cover bills and expenses. In the case of Andreas, that is exactly what happened over the years. Bills need to get paid and Bitcoin has been valued pretty low for most of the past nine years.

Andreas Antonopoulos Receives Overwhelming Support

Roger Ver recently called out Andreas Antonopoulos over this development. As is usually the case, such debates spark an immediate reaction among the Bitcoin community. Because of this development, some people started donating healthy amounts of BTC to Andreas. That is only normal, as the Bitcoin community is often very helpful in these regards. The global availability of Bitcoin makes it easier to send money around the world as well.

Big was everyones surprise when someone donated 37.046 Bitcoin to Andreas Antonopoulos. This is just one donation and not the culmination of many different transactions. At the time of writing, this donation is valued at over $553,000. That is quite a steep donation, although it is a well-deserved one as well. It is impor...

Kevin Andrews Announces Plans To Whip Himself Every Time A Gay Couple Gets Married "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Liberal MP Kevin Andrews says he will begin a ritual of self flagellation to atone for the sins of gay Australians.

Following the legalisation of same-sex marriage, Mr Andrews said it was important to evoke the pain Jesus feels every time a gay couple weds.

Andrews said he would revive the medieval practice common in 14th century and modernise it in keeping with current 16th century thinking. He will set up a small room in his Parliament House office and flog himself with a cattail whip made of knotted cords while reciting a medieval chant.

It focuses the mind and reminds us of the vileness of humanity, Mr Andrews said of the ritual.

What Did Ancient Greek Music Sound Like?: Listen to a Reconstruction Thats 100% Accurate "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Between 750 BC and 400 BC, the Ancient Greeks composed songs meant to be accompanied by the lyre, reed-pipes, and various percussion instruments. More than 2,000 years later, modern scholars have figured out--at long last--how to reconstruct and perform these songs with (it's claimed) 100% accuracy.

Writing on the BBC web site, Armand D'Angour, a musician and tutor in classics at Oxford University, notes:

[Ancient Greek] instruments are known from descriptions, paintings and archaeological remains, which allow us to establish the timbres and range of pitches they produced.

And now, new revelations about ancient Greek music have emerged from a few dozen ancient documents inscribed with a vocal notation devised around 450 BC, consisting of alphabetic letters and signs placed above the vowels of the Greek words.

The Greeks had worked out the mathematical ratios of musical intervals - an octave is 2:1, a fifth 3:2, a fourth 4:3, and so on.

The notation gives an accurate indication of relative pitch.

So what did Greek music sound like? Below you can hear David Creese, a classicist from the University of Newcastle, play "an ancient Greek song taken from stone inscriptions constructed on an eight-string 'canon' (a zither-like instrument) with movable bridges. "The tune is credited to Seikilos," says Archaeology Magazine.

For more information on all of this, read D'Angour's article over at the BBC.

WorkHQ signs contract with RepuX that could potentially grant RepuX access to millions of SMEs in China "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

December 7, 2017; Krakw, Poland WorkHQ, a China-based inventory management software signed a 5-year contract today with RepuX, an Ethereum-backed platform and protocol for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to earn rewards for sharing data. The agreement will give SMEs using WorkHQs software to manage sales and purchase orders across Amazon, Taobao, and Tmall the option of earning rewards for selling encrypted data on the RepuX platform.

RepuX brings value back to businesses by providing a secure platform for data to be sold to interested parties. It is costly and time consuming to maintain large data sets and, until recently, there has not been an easy way for businesses to monetize and repurpose their data despite interest from developers looking to build applications with AI and machine learning capabilities.

Justifiably, many businesses have expressed concerns from a security perspective about sharing proprietary information. RepuX addresses need for incentive and concerns about security with its blockchain-backed platform that encrypts all data and rewards businesses in cryptocurrency for sharing data with developers and other interested parties.

The distributed aspect of the blockchain-backed network enables RepuX to meet developers main consideration the quality of data by enabling data purchasers to rate the quality with reputation scores. Developers can trust the validity of data that has been vetted by the network because its value is not being determined by a single, centralized entity, but by peers.

WorkHQ is incorporating RepuXs technology into applications used by SMEs to provide clients with a means to sell their data in return for RepuX tokens. The RepuX token sale will be launching in February of 2018.

For media inquiries, or to schedule an interview, please contact Nikki Brown at Melrose PR; nikki(at)melrosepr(dot)com or call (310) 260-7901.

Wi-Fi Devices Increase Mercury Release From Dental Amalgams "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Recent research indicates that our increasingly Wi-Fi saturated environment could be greatly amplifying the dangers of mercury exposure from dental amalgams.

By Sayer Ji,

A new study published in the Journal of Neuroimmunology entitled, Effect of radiofrequency radiation from Wi-Fi devices on mercury release from amalgam restorations, reveals that our now ubiquitous exposure to Wi-Fi radiation may be amplifying the toxicity of dental amalgams and other forms of mercury exposure to the human body.

Brazilian researchers, in what appears to be the first study of its kind, looked specifically at the potential for Wi-Fi signals to increase the release of mercury from dental amalgams, which are composed of approximately 50% elemental mercury.

Ethereum Classic Price Technical Analysis ETC/USD Under Pressure "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Key Highlights

  • Ethereum classic price declined recently and traded below the $26.00 support area against the US Dollar.
  • There is a major bearish trend line forming with resistance near $27.50 on the hourly chart of the ETC/USD pair (Data feed via Kraken).
  • The pair traded as low as $24.01 recently and it is currently correcting higher.

Ethereum classic price is under bearish pressure against the US Dollar and Bitcoin. ETC/USD is currently correcting higher, but is facing hurdles near $27.00 and $27.50.

Ethereum Classic Price Resistance

There was a start of a new downside reaction from the $30.50 swing high in ETC price against the US Dollar. The price moved down and broke a few important support levels such as $30.00 and $28.00. It traded close to the $24.00 level and formed a lot at $24.01. It is currently correcting higher and has already moved above the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $30.00 high to $24.01 low.

At the moment, the price is facing resistance near the $27.00 level. Moreover, the 38.2% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $30.00 high to $24.01 low is acting as a resistance. There is also a major bearish trend line forming with resistance near $27.50 on the hourly chart of the ETC/USD pair. The trend line resistance is around the 100 hourly simple moving average at $27.80. An intermediate resistance is around the 50% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $30.00 high to $24.01 low at $26.98.

Ethereum Classic Price Technical Analysis ETC USD

Therefore, there are many hurdles on the upside starting with $27.00. As long as the price is below $27.00, it might struggle. On the downside, the $24.00 level is a decent support. Below $24.00, the next major support is around $22.00.

Hourly MACD The MACD for ETC/USD is about to move back in the bullish zone.

Hourly RSI The RSI for ETC/USD is currently just near the 50 level.

Major Support Level $24.00

Major Resistance Level $27.50

Thuja 30C ameliorates benzo(a)pyrene induced toxicity, stress and DNA damage in perfused lung cells. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  J Integr Med. 2013 Nov ;11(6):397-404. PMID: 24299603 Abstract Title:  Homeopathic Thuja 30C ameliorates benzo(a)pyrene-induced DNA damage, stress and viability of perfused lung cells of mice in vitro. Abstract:  OBJECTIVE: To examine if the ultra-highly diluted homeopathic remedy Thuja 30C can ameliorate benzo(a)pyrene (BaP)-induced DNA damage, stress and viability of perfused lung cells of Swiss albino mice in vitro.METHODS: Perfused normal lung cells from mice were cultured in 5% Roswell Park Memorial Institute medium and exposed to BaP, a potent carcinogen, at the half maximal inhibitory concentration dose (2.2mol/L) for 24 h. Thereafter, the intoxicated cells were either treated with Thuja 30C (used against tumor or cancer) or its vehicle media, succussed alcohol 30C. Relevant parameters of study involving reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, total glutathione (GSH) content, and generations of heat shock protein (hsp)-90 were measured; the cell viability and other test parameters were measured after treatment with either Thuja 30C or its vehicle media. Circular dichroism spectroscopy was performed to examine if Thuja 30C directly interacted with calf thymus DNA as target. For ascertainingif DNA damaged by BaP could be partially repaired and restituted by the remedy, 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole staining was performed.RESULTS: Thuja 30C increased cell viability of BaP-intoxicated cells significantly, as compared to drug-untreated or drug-vehicle control. A minimal dose of Thuja 30C significantly inhibited BaP-induced stress level, by down-regulating ROS and hsp-90, and increasing GSH content. Thuja 30C itself had no DNA-damaging effect, and no direct drug-DNA interaction. However, it showed quite striking ability to repair DNA damage caused by BaP.CONCLUSION: Thuja 30C ameliorates BaP-induced toxicity, stress and DNA damage in perfused lung cells of mice and it apparently has no effect on normal lung cells.

Alpha Women are strong and fierce; they take charge and are not afraid to speak their mind regardless of the situation. Are you an alpha woman?

These women are used to being confronted and are not about to change who they are for anyone. They are kind and yet still intimidating to most. When it comes to being with an Alpha Woman, you must be prepared. If you dont know what you are getting yourself into you wont last long.

Once a woman is comfortable in her own skin, living her own life and building a foundation by herself; it takes one heck of a man to make her want to sacrifice her independence. Nikki Rowe

13 Things Alpha Women Need to Find When It Comes To Love:

1. They need someone who can keep up with them.

They need someone who is as driven as they are. Someone who works hard and isnt afraid to get dirty; sadly, this is hard to find.

2. They need someone willing to grow with them.

They need someone who will want to be there through the good and bad times. Someone who will build a life with them. Your goals need to be similar for this to work.

3. They need someone who will respect them.

The person they choose as a partner has to be someone who respects them. A person who cares for them in the ways they will care for him or her. Respect is one of the most important things in a relationship.

4. They need someone that they can trust.

Trust is important for the alpha female, because they need someone who can be there for them in the ways they need them to. They have to be able to trust this person in all possible ways.

They have to have someone who can let go of mistakes and move on from the past. When you are in a relationship with an Alpha Woman you have to know how to be present since the moment is really all you have. The Alpha Woman is extremely busy.

6. They need someone who can challenge them.

In life and love, we all need someone who is not afraid to challenge us. Someone who is going to be there for them through all of the tough times. They want to be able to compete with their partner on an intellectual, emotional, and physical level.

DOH eyes refund for dengue vaccine By Mayen Jaymalin (The Philippine Star) "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Probes to include Aquino

MANILA, Philippines The Department of Health (DOH) is looking into the possibility of requiring the manufacturer of the worlds first dengue vaccine to refund the government following reports that the treatment poses risks to people without a history of dengue.

It is an option we are considering, but we also have to look into the legal issues, Health Undersecretary Gerardo Bayugo told reporters yesterday.

The controversy on the P3.5-billion dengue immunization program broke after pharmaceutical giant Sanofi Pasteur disclosed that new clinical analysis found its Dengvaxia vaccine effective for people who have had dengue prior to immunization, but noted the risk of a severe case of dengue for people who have not.

Bayugo clarified that there had been no apparent irregularity in the purchase of Dengvaxia until Sanofi admitted that the vaccine only provides protection for those previously afflicted with dengue.

He explained that the DOHs decision to implement a dengue immunization program was based on the previous findings that Dengvaxia was safe for use, and there was no complaint before the Commission on Audit concerning its purchase.

I still believe that the DOH complied with the requirements of the law in the procurement of the dengue vaccine, he added.

According to Science, Redheads Might Have Genetic Superpowers "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

We all know redheads can be fireballs, to say the least. There is definitely something special about them, and it is more than what you get on the outside! The question is, what sets these fiery haired people apart from the rest of the world?

Well, Dr. Augustin Galopin believed that redheads have genetic superpowers. He actually revealed this is a book he wrote back in 1886 titled Le Parfum de la Femme. According to him, redheaded women radiate their own aroma known as ambergris which is a more earthy scent. That being said was later found this was because of a thin acidic film, known as the skin mantle on our skins surface that in the case of most redheads causes their perfume to evaporate and releases a scent like nothing else.

However, this was not the only book released on the powers of redheads. Erin La Rose released a book herself titled, The Big Redhead Book and it is filled with fascinating facts on redheads. As if being a mere 2 percent of the population redheads also have some quite interesting quirks. Below you will find a list of mindblowing things about those with firetruck hair.

Redheaded women are able to tolerate pain better

A study done in 2003, actually showed that redheaded women can tolerate about 25 percent more pain than those with other colored hair. It has also been said that they are harder to sedate. You might not want to get into a fight with a redhead.

Redheads do not need as much vitamin D

As you may know, redheads burn easily in the sun, more-so than most. Redheads actually create their own vitamin D in a shorter amount of time than those with different colored hair would. They do not need to spend as much time in the sun.

Not all redheads are white

There are redheads born in places like Papua New Guinea and so forth where their skin is not pale. Just because most of them seem to be white does not mean they all are. You should know by now that we all come in different shapes, sizes, colors, and so forth.

Redheads are able to tell when it is getting cold

Redheads feel colder temperatures on a deeper level than most. Back in 2005, a...

Vitamin K Resources "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

This post is a collection of links to articles and resources that I have authored on the subject of vitamin K and I have now updated it to reflect the publication of the second edition of my book which I am delighted to tell you is now officially a bestseller Vitamin K and the Newborn.

The first article that I wrote about vitamin K was published in 2001 and was called Vitamin K: a flaw in the blueprint?, where the title reflected the ideological and practical question that most interested me at the time; that of whether nature had really got it wrong. This article generated some really interesting discussion with a lovely paediatrician named Edmund Hey, who is sadly no longer with us. I have discussed some of his work in my book, Vitamin K and the Newborn.

But time and ongoing learning change things, and some of what is my earlier articles and the 2003 booklet is now superseded by more recent research findings. I have left some of my older articles on my website as older work is often of use to those interested in the history of this debate, and these articles include Deconstructing Prophylaxis Part 1, Deconstructing Prophylaxis Part 2, Vitamin K: the chaos continues and Vitamin K: what have we learned in a decade?  But please be aware that they are of their time, and look at the ongoing debates and discussions as well.

I continue to be interested in the ideological questions that we were raising at that time, especially as vitamin K really does seem to be the proverbial sledgehammer to crack a nut. Several thousand babies need to be given vitamin K in order to prevent each case of vitamin K deficiency bleeding (or VKDB; a disorder formerly known as haemorrhagic disease of the newbor...

Negative Things To Expect During 2018 Based on Your Zodiac Sign "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

There are lots of things to be expected in the year to come. That being said, not all of those things are going to be as positive as we would like for them to be.

If youve been wondering what challenges 2018 is bringing to you this article can help. These challenges are going to be hard to overcome, but should be faced head-on. Stay strong and remember something positive always comes from the negative and the Universe never brings us to something we cant handle.

You NEED to slow down; the pace your life is going at is causing you to live a very self-destructive lifestyle. You need to give up any vices you have at the moment and get back to who you truly are. The year 2018 is going to bring you to a rough spot where you will have to make a very important decision, whether you want to stay where you are or move forward as who you are supposed to be.

As a Taurus, you can and do get frustrated easily. During 2018 you will be reflecting inward a lot. You will be experiencing a lot of wanderlust during this year that is not going to resolve itself without some adventure.

Stop wasting your time with people who dont matter. You are going to have a very HARD realization in 2018, and it may result in making a lot of changes. You are worth so much more than you think, remember that.

During 2018, you are going to be finding parts of yourself that you didnt know existed, but you are going to lose someone who means a lot to you. Know that during this time your loss is only going to bring about something more important and while you will miss that person you are better off without them. You are on your way to becoming the person you were meant to be but until then lots of heartache is to come.

As a Leo, you are always as strong as you can be, but that is not always strong enough and you need to be aware of this. During this coming year if you have not yet realized that, you will and it wont be pretty. You will feel as if the world is falling apart and your hold on things has disappeared, just remember you are strong and being vulnerable doesnt mean you arent still capable.

For the Virgo, 2018 is going to change your life. You are going to become more confident, but to an extreme extent. Please, try not to become too egotistical as it is not like you. When you spend too much time in the spotlight rumors are bound to follow and the thing about rumors is they are often untrue and NASTY.

During 2018 you need to remember that you matter. Meeting your own needs should come first. You are going to be giving too much, and it is going to take a serious toll o...

Dengue vaccine found to worsen disease symptoms (Safe and effective?) "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

(CNN)The Philippines has suspended its large-scale dengue vaccination effort amid the surprising results of a new study conducted by the vaccine's manufacturer.

On Wednesday, French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi Pasteur published clinical trial data showing that its dengue vaccine, Dengvaxia, could have unintended consequences in patients who had never been infected with the mosquito-borne virus.
    "The analysis confirmed that Dengvaxia provides persistent (protective) benefit against dengue fever in those who had prior infection," Sanofi said in a statement. "For those not previously infected by dengue virus, however, the analysis found that in the longer term, more cases of severe disease could occur following vaccination upon a subsequent dengue infection."
    New dengue vaccine could instead cause more cases, experts warn
    On Monday, Harry Roque Jr., a spokesman for Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, announced that the Department of Justice would launch an investigation into the fast-track approval of Dengvaxia by the previous administration. Assistant Health Secretary Lyndon Lee Suy said his agency would work with the Department of Education to monitor all recipients of the vaccine for adverse health effects.

    Does the Push for Mass Vaccination Point Toward a Staged Bioterror Event? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

    Weve seen the signs. Ive been highlighting them. The infamous childhood mandatory vaccination law in California. Other states that are considering similar bills.

    The lunatic push in Australia to outlaw medical exemptions from vaccination. The all-out campaign in the press, in various countries, to stigmatize people who defect from official truth about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

    On a larger stage, over the past 20 years, weve seen the promotion of fake pandemics demanding universal vaccination to ward off millions of deaths: SARS, West Nile, Swine Flu, smallpox, etc. All duds.

    Now we have the boggling case of the University of Massachusetts, where two supposed instances of meningitis have triggered an immediate campaign (video 1, video 2) to vaccinate all 20,000 students against meningococcal B meningitis.

    Why Vanilla Beans Are Absolutely Worth It "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    Vanilla beans (Vanilla planifolia1) are long thin pods from a variety of orchid thats grown in a commercial scale in Madagascar, India, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and the West Indies.2,3 When opened, the pods are waxy and dark, filled with little brown specks and emit a sweet fragrance.4,5

    There are three types of vanilla beans: Bourbon-Madagascar, Mexican and Tahitian. Bourbon-Madagascar vanilla is a thin pod with a rich and sweet flavor, the sweetest of the three.

    Mexican vanilla tastes smooth and rich, while Tahitian vanilla has the thickest and darkest-colored pod thats aromatic but not as flavorful as the two.6 Vanilla beans have no flavor or aroma when they are first planted. Once vanilla pods are handpicked from the plant, they are dipped immediately in boiling water to stop growth, heated under the sun and wrapped to sweat at night for up to 20 days.

    To develop that distinct vanilla scent and taste, pods are air-dried and fermented for four to six months, producing the vanilla beans most of us are familiar with.

    The beans can be sold as they are, or made into paste or powder. Vanilla bean paste is produced by scraping out the vanilla pod and infusing the insides into a thick and sweet syrup made with sugar, water and thickener.7,8 Meanwhile, vanilla bean powder is made from dried and powdered vanilla beans, but without added sugar or alcohol.9

    Health Benefits of Vanilla Beans

    Most people appreciate vanilla beans only for their pleasing aroma and sweet taste, but these beans actually have health benefits. Research has linked vanillin, vanillas chief chemical component, to:10,...

    Is Cognitive Training the Answer for Dementia? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    By Dr. Mercola

    Could computer-based cognitive training reduce your risk for dementia? According to recent research, it might. The study, said to be the first-ever randomized controlled trial to demonstrate an intervention effective at reducing dementia risk, found a specially developed brain exercise program lowered the risk by 29 percent over the course of 10 years.1,2,3,4,5

    The research was led by Dr. Michael Merzenich, professor emeritus at the University of California, who has pioneered research in brain plasticity for more than 30 years. I've included my previous interview with him, in which he discusses these principles, for your convenience. With regard to this latest study, The Guardian writes:6

    "The training was designed to speed up people's visual information processing, for example by having them spot a car on a screen, and a truck on the periphery of their vision, at the same time. Those who are claimed to have benefited trained for an hour, twice a week, for five weeks, and some went on to have booster sessions at the end of the first and third years."

    Too Early to Tell if Brain Training Is Effective Form of Prevention

    The participants' cognitive ability was evaluated after the first six weeks, and again one, two, three, five and 10 years later. Participants who received memory training or reasoning training did not experience the same beneficial results. The benefit really appears to be limited to training that targets processing speed.

    As noted by lead researcher, psychiatrist Jerri Edwards, "We need to further delineate what makes some computerized cognitive training effective, while other types are not." While the results are encouraging, the study does have its limitations. Science Alert explains:7

    7 Supplements That Help Fight Holiday Stress "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    By Dr. Mercola

    While the holiday season can be a wonderful time of celebration and connection, few of us get through it without experiencing some level of stress. Emotions can run high around the holidays and expectations higher still. You may feel pressure to entertain, cook a big meal and shop for gifts for family and friends, whether you can afford it or not. In addition, there are many holiday-oriented activities and special events to attend.

    All of those taking place in a short window of time can send your stress levels spiraling out of control, making you vulnerable to emotional and physical illness. Unlike the stress you likely deal with on a regular basis throughout the year, there is something unique about holiday stress perhaps because you may feel pressure to have everything turn out just right, but it seldom does.

    When it comes to holidays, there are countless variables to consider, and unfortunately, you have very little control over most of them. That said, you can take proactive steps to manage stress this holiday season. Below are seven supplements I would like to bring to your attention based on my belief they will help you not only survive, but also thrive, during this festive time of year.

    No. 1: Magnesium

    Holidays or not, magnesium is important to the heath of nearly every one of your cells, playing a daily role in hundreds of bodily reactions. Because it is the fourth most abundant mineral in your body, being deficient in magnesium can have wide-ranging consequences for your health.

    Given the fact researchers1 have detected more than 3,750 magnesium-binding sites on human proteins underscores the importance this mineral has for your bodys optimal functioning, particularly during times of stress. You may be suffering from magnesium insufficiency if you experience:

    • Constipation
    • Eye twitches, muscle spasms especially "charley horses" or spasms in your calf muscle, numbness or tingling in your extremities and seizures
    • Headaches and/or migraines
    • High blood pressure, heart arrhythmias and/or coronary spasms
    • Low energy, fatigue and/or loss of appetite

    On the other hand, the presence of sufficient magnesium is known to reduce your risk for heart disease, hypertension and migraines. This essential mineral also supports your muscle and nerve function, including the action of your heart muscle. Magnesium promotes better sleep, as well as mental and physical relaxation. It is thought to...

    Ethereum Price Technical Analysis ETH/USDs Bearish Path "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

    Key Highlights

    • ETH price declined further and followed a short-term bearish path below $445 against the US Dollar.
    • There are two bearish trend lines forming with resistance at $428 and $442 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD (data feed via SimpleFX).
    • The pair might correct towards $440-442 in the near term, but could face sellers.

    Ethereum price declined sharply against the US Dollar and Bitcoin. ETH/USD moved towards the $410-400 levels and is currently correcting higher.

    Ethereum Price Decline

    There was no major recovery in ETH price above the $460 level against the US Dollar. The price came under renewed selling pressure and traded below the $430 and $425 support levels. It almost tested the $400 handle and traded as low as $408.80. At the moment, the price is correcting higher towards $430. It has moved above the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $460.54 high to $408.80.

    On the upside, there are many resistances such as $440 and $460. There are also two bearish trend lines forming with resistance at $428 and $442 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD. The first trend line is near the 38.2% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $460.54 high to $408.80. However, the most important resistance is around the $440 level and the second trend line. The 100 hourly simple moving average is also near $450 to act as a resistance.

    Ethereum Price Technical Analysis ETH USD

    An intermediate resistance is around the 50% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $460.54 high to $408.80 at $435. Therefore, any major upsides are likely to be capped by the $440 level. On the downside, the recent low of $408 is a decent support. The most important support is near $400-395 where there can be strong bids.

    Hourly MACD The MACD is placed well in the bearish zone.

    Hourly RSI The RSI is moving higher towards the 40 level, but it is well below the 50 level.

    Major Support Level $408

    Major Resistance Level $440

    Dramatic Visual Medical Proof Of EMF Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity In EHS Patients "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    By Catherine J. Frompovich

    Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), or medically known as idiopathic environmental intolerance (IEI) by the World Health Organization [1], is described as

    characterized by a variety of non-specific symptoms, which afflicted individuals attribute to exposure to EMF. The symptoms most commonly experienced include dermatological symptoms (redness, tingling, and burning sensations) as well as neurasthenic and vegetative symptoms (fatigue, tiredness, concentration difficulties, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitation, and digestive disturbances). The collection of symptoms is not part of any recognized syndrome.

    EHS resembles multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), another disorder associated with low-level environmental exposures to chemicals. Both EHS and MCS are characterized by a range of non-specific symptoms that lack apparent toxicological or physiological basis or independent verification. A more general term for sensitivity to environmental factors is Idiopathic Environmental Intolerance (IEI), which originated from a workshop convened by the International Program on Chemical Safety (IPCS) of the WHO in 1996 in Berlin. IEI is a descriptor without any implication of chemical etiology, immunological sensitivity or EMF susceptibility. IEI incorporates a number of disorders sharing similar non-specific medically unexplained symptoms that adversely affect people. However since the term EHS is in common usage it will continue to be used here.

    One of the most frustrating, and truly unfortunate aspects of EHS, is that everyone in the industries which generate EMFs/RFs which cause the problem, especially the professional association ICNIRP, adamantly denies it exists, and those who suffer with it are psych jobs! Well, thats got to end now, as there are gr...

    Solar panels on roof? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

    Howdy, y'all.
    I'm looking into getting my house off grid. Currently, I spend more in fees and the minimum charge than I do in the actual electricity I burn. Most months, I'd pay about $45 if I pulled the main breaker for a month. Most months my total bill is about $85. It's a bit more in winter, as much as $100-130, maybe. I heat my house with space heaters at the moment, so that could be even lower.
    Anyways, I live in a wooded area, and the only good place to mount panels...

    Solar panels on roof?

    Monero bulls are definitely rally testing for $300 for the first time since launch. As this is a new milestone, correction was inevitable and it did.

    Concurrently, IOTA slowed down retracing from its recent highs but this was temporary because it bounced off $3.2 to resume trend.

    Lets look at the charts:

    alt coin NEM 4HR chart technical analysisXEMUSD 4HR Chart for December 7, 2017

    In the 4HR chart, NEM bulls are ceding ground to bears.

    Look at what happened after price action tested the resistance level and the round number at $0.30. First off, there was a strong bearish engulfing candlestick which ended up confirming a double bar reversal pattern.

    After that close, USD bulls were in the trade driving prices below our main support line-the 20 period MA.

    The fact that the higher time frames are bullish means that every dip is a buying opportunity and as such we are all looking at how price will react at $0.25.

    This price level is of significance in this time frame and the daily chart which by the way remains bullish.

    alt coin DASH 4HR chart technical analysis DASHUSD 4HR Chart for December 7, 2017

    The fact that the weekly chart is bullish means that we only take long set ups. Yesterday we saw how prices were horizontally consolidating within a $75 range inside a minor wedge.

    DASH prices ended up breaking below the minor support and banded along the lower BB towards support marked at $670. As we can observe, prices is somehow finding support after that bullish candlestick deep inside the oversold stochastics territory.

    If the current candlestick ends up being a bull then it shows that buyers are entering the trade now that prices are around the main support line.

    All in all, the two resistance lines-the 20 period MA and the minor resistance trend lines are our short term resistance zones. Should price action close above these two levels then long trades are valid.

    MSM Forced to Admit Ingredient in Vaccines Causes Autism "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    vaccines aluminum autism

    By Brandon TurbevilleNatural Blaze

    While corporate mainstream media outlets and Big Pharma have attempted to hide and silence criticism of vaccines as crazy, anti science, and even Russian propaganda, recent research has managed to cut through the haze of disinformation peddled by these outlets. Indeed, even propaganda outfits like the Daily Mail have been forced to acknowledge Dr. Chris Exleys new research.

    Perhaps we now have the link between vaccination and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the link being the inclusion of an aluminium adjuvant in the vaccine, said Professor Chris Exley from Keele University.

    His study revealed that autistic children have up to ten times more metal in their brains than the levels of what is considered safe adults. The research also points out that aluminum crosses the membrane that separates the blood and brain and that it accumulates in cells that are necessarily involved in maintaining a constant internal existence, i.e. temperature.

    Bitcoin Cash Price Technical Analysis BCH/USD Extends Decline "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

    Key Points

    • Bitcoin cash price declined further and traded towards the $1300 support against the US Dollar.
    • There is a major bearish trend line forming with resistance around $1475 on the hourly chart of BCH/USD (data feed from Kraken).
    • The price might correct higher, but it will most likely face sellers near $1400 and $1460.

    Bitcoin cash price declined below $1340 against the US Dollar. BCH/USD is currently under bearish pressure and upsides remain capped by $1400.

    Bitcoin Cash Price Upside Hurdles

    Due to rise in bitcoin price, there were further declines in bitcoin cash price below $1400 against the US Dollar. The price made a sharp downside move and traded below the $1400 and $1350 support levels. It almost tested the $1300 handle and formed a low near $1308.5. At the moment, a minor consolidation and correction is underway from $1310. On the upside, an initial resistance is around the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $1545 high to $1308 low.

    The $1380-1385 zone is a short-term hurdle for buyers. Above the mentioned $1385, the price could test the $1400 resistance. Should there be further gains, the next hurdle is near the 50% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $1545 high to $1308 low around $1438. There is also a major bearish trend line forming with resistance around $1475 on the hourly chart of BCH/USD. Therefore, there are many hurdles on the upside protecting gains above $1400 in the near term.

    Bitcoin Cash Price Technical Analysis BCH USD

    On the downside, the recent low of $1308 is a minor support. A break below $1308 could push the price below the $1300 level. The next major support is near the $1250-1260 zone.

    Looking at the technical indicators:

    Hourly MACD The MACD for BCH/USD is placed well in the bearish zone.

    Hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) The RSI for BCH/USD is correcting higher from the 30 level.

    Major Support Level $1300

    Major Resistance Level $1400

    Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis for 12/07/2017 Waiting for a Small Pullback "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

    Bitcoin Price Key Highlights

    • Bitcoin price has once again jumped to record highs at $14,000 and may be undergoing profit-taking.
    • Applying the Fib tool on the latest swing low and high shows that the 38.2% level lines up with a rising trend line.
    • A larger pullback could last until the 61.8% Fib near a former resistance area.

    Bitcoin price could be due for a quick pullback from its latest rally, offering more bulls a chance to join in.

    Technical Indicators Signals

    The 100 SMA is above the longer-term 200 SMA on the 1-hour time frame so the path of least resistance is to the upside. This means that the rally is more likely to continue than to reverse. Also, the gap between the moving averages is widening to reflect stronger bullish momentum.

    However, stochastic is starting to turn down from the overbought region once more, signaling that sellers are getting ready to take over price action. Similarly, RSI is on the move down to signal a pickup in bearish pressure that could keep the correction going.

    Buyers could return once the oscillators hit oversold levels and turn back up. The 100 SMA might also hold as near-term support in a larger pullback, as this coincides with a broken resistance around $11500.

    Market Factors

    Institutional investor interest leading up to the launch of CBOE bitcoin futures by December 10 is building up and ramping up demand for the cryptocurrency. This comes ahead of the CME launch on December 18 and the Nasdaqs own by early 2018.

    Rising volumes and increased activity is to be expected as this would make bitcoin more accessible to retail trading. However, it could also lead to increased volatility. Three derivative products that would enable traders to short bitcoin are also rumored to be out before the end of the year.

    Meanwhile, the dollar is waiting on tax reform progress and the NFP report. Weak results could undermine 2018 rate hike hopes while strong data could spur the dollar higher.

    What Is Money? (Yes, We're Talking About Bitcoin) "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

    Good ideas don't require force. That describes the Internet, mobile telephony and cryptocurrencies.
    What is money? We all assume we know, because money is a commonplace feature of everyday life. Money is what we earn and exchange for goods and services. Everyone thinks the money theyre familiar with is the only possible system of moneyuntil they run across an entirely different system of money.
    Then they realize money is a social construct, a confluence of social consensus and political force-- what we agree to use as money, and what our government mandates we use as money under threat of punishment.
    We assume that our monetary system is much like a Law of Nature: since its ubiquitous, it must be the only possible system.

    World Chaos Diagnosis: Acute Zionist Infestation "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

    Average Joe, whos an American veteran down on his luck, he could have begun his own landscaping or mechanic business when hard times came. Only Uncle Sam was too broken to gift good old Joe $30,000 or so to get things rolling. Its too bad, because Joe got a bronze star and lost a leg over there in Iraq. If Joes family only knew how Zionist, pig bankers had cost millions of Americans an alternative future, then maybe wed all stand a better chance of life and liberty. But, they dont know yet.

    For a couple of years now Ive laid awake nights trying to figure out how to convey to my countrymen the catastrophic abuse of power leveraged by Israels Washington based henchmen. At first, I was like most people, worried friends and enemies alike might call me an anti-Semite for the insinuation of Zionist lobby skullduggery. Then, a murdered and sodomized Libyan leader made fun of by a presidential candidate, and a few tens of thousands of dead kids over there in Syria, Yemen, and in Gaza, and some more in Yemen, they caused me not to give a damn what people label me as. But wait, what about my Jewish friends? What would they think if I jumped feet first into Bibi Netanyahu and his AIPAC vampires? Alas, my Jewish pals mostly got fed up too, at envisioning the bitter end of an abusive Israeli regime. None of them want a Hitler final solution on a global scale. And thats where Tel Aviv is headed in my opinion. Seeing Netanyahu dangle US President Donald Trump like a wooden puppet in front of a live audience well, the jig is up for most sane people I think. How to Supercharge Your Dopamine Levels Naturally and Never Feel Depressed or Anxious Again "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

    by Christina Sarich; Waking Times Dopamine is the brains master chemical. This single neurotransmitter is responsible for a plethora of mental and physical processes. By learning how to stimulate your own dopamine levels naturally, you can overcome depression, anxiety, apathy, and fear, while boosting feelings of pleasure created by this amazing little neuron. Dopamine is what rewards certain behaviors in us so that we do them again, and why certain drugs are so addictive. Cocaine, heroine and other opiates cause a dopamine super rewardwhich makes their use highly desirable, until you experience the dopamine crash that comes once the illicit drug is absent from the physiology. The opiates bind to the opiate receptors in the brain, increasing a dopamine release, but once gone, there is an ever-increasing need for more opiate (or other drug) to induce the same dopamine-high. This is what causes drug addicts to resort to ever increasing, negative behaviors to get their next fix. The dopamine high is that desirable. In experiments conducted with mice, when the same nerve bundle that causes an opiate release was stimulated when they pressed a lever, the mice, left to their own devices, would press the lever thousands of times in an hour, due to the pleasurable feelings the dopamine would induce. A later experiment (conducted unethically on a human being) showed a similar response. Over the course of three hours, a person would press a button which triggered a dopamine dump thousands of times to get an immense emotional boost. Read more

    Hamas warns Trump has opened the gates of hell and calls for day of rage

    Hamas has said US President Donald Trumps recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the decision to move the US embassy there, opens the gates of hell.  Trumps decision on Jerusalem will not succeed in changing the fact that Jerusalem is an Arab Muslim land, a spokesperson for the militant group running Gaza noted.

    The group has also repeatedly called for a Palestinian day of rage on 8 December as well. The youth and the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank need to respond with all means available to the US decision that harms our Jerusalem, the statement read. Hamas called the decision about the city home to holy sites for Jews, Muslims, and Christians a red line. The statement was unequivocal: The resistance will not allow any desecration of it. Anonymous Sends Unparalleled Message: We Told You Something Was Coming & Now Its Here "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

    by Joe Martino; Collective Evolution

    We are being faced with an incredible challenge of truly asking ourselves who we are and what were doing here. A shift in consciousness is upon us. 9 years ago when I started writing about this shift, it was called crazy, pseudoscience, new-age BS and more. But year after year since then, more and more people have been discovering the truth of the changes we are going through and what they truly mean for our consciousness as humanity.

    Remember, what we see in our world and what plays out is a reflection of our current global consciousness. We raise awareness about what is going on so we can become aware of what our consciousness is creating so we can then shift it. Simply by knowing, we begin to shift.

    You probably feel it in your everyday wakefulness, that something isnt quite right with our world and also that something very big is changing. When you look at our political arena and the divides and conflict that seem ever increasing, when you look at the sex scandals and revelations coming forth about some of our worlds most influential people, or when you simply pay attention to whats really going on from a big picture perspective, its likely you will see we are experiencing a very pivotal time.

    Trump And Israel Are Linked By The Number 7 Over And Over Again

    (By Michael Snyder) On Wednesday, President Trump announced that the United States is formally recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and would begin the process of moving the U.S. embassy to the holy city.  This move sent shockwaves around the world, and it is likely that we could see widespread violence erupt in the Middle East.  But what most people dont realize is that the timing of this announcement was extremely significant.  As you will see below, this came on the exact date on the Hebrew calendar when the Partition Plan for Palestine was adopted 70 years ago, and it is yet another example of how Trump

    and Israel are linked by the number 7 over and over again.  Lets take this one step at a time.  The modern state of Israel was born on May 14th, 1948 and U.S. President Harry Truman formally recognized the new nation on that same day.So 2018 is Israels 70th birthday, and many believe that it was not a coincidence that Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel just  prior to this very important anniversary.  In fact, the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem should be ready to open by the time May 14th rolls around. North Korea warns U.S. threats make war unavoidable on Korean peninsula

    Large military drills being carried out by the United States and South Korea and U.S. threats of a preemptive war against Pyongyang have made the outbreak of war on the Korean peninsula an established fact, North Koreas foreign ministry said.  A spokesman for the Norths foreign ministry also blamed confrontational warmongering remarks by U.S. officials for pushing the peninsula to the brink of war.

    The remaining question now is: when will the war break out? the spokesman said late on Wednesday in a statement carried by North Koreas official KCNA news agency. We do not wish for a war but shall not hide from it, he said. Tensions on the Korean peninsula have risen markedly in recent months after North Koreas latest missile and nuclear tests, conducted in defiance of international pressure and United Nations resolutions. Queen of Englands Bank: Bitcoin is Nothing but Speculation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

    In a truly surprising turn of events (sarcasm intended), the Queen of Englands bank has expressed scepticism over Bitcoin. The exclusive financial services provider declared the Bitcoin price to be built on nothing but speculation. They also stated that theyd not be investing themselves. One of Coutts investment strategists, Lilian Chovin explained to the UKs Telegraph:

    Its sharp rise brought back memories of the dotcom bubble back at the turn of the century.

    Coutts is a private bank which, until recently, catered exclusively to members of high society. Nowadays they accept noted entrepreneurs, sportspeople, entertainers, and executives too clearly, its still quite selective with its clientele. Its therefore hardly surprising that such an institution cant see the value in a permission-less system of global exchange. It kind of (read: completely) takes away their raison dtre.

    Chovin went on to state that there were no fundamentals underlying Bitcoin. This made it a poor investment in her view. Meanwhile, of course, the price of Bitcoin has rocketed from around $760 this time last year, to over $14,500 at the time of writing.

    The investment strategist clearly ignored the similarities to the complete lack of backing which render fiat currencies as worthless sheets of paper until theyre sentimentally imbued with value en masse:

    Our view at Coutts is that, as an investment asset, electronic currencies like Bitcoin have nothing but sentiment backing them up.

    One factor that Chovin did highlight as dangerous for Bitcoin going forward was that it seems vulnerable to government sanctions. She concluded by stating that there are no plans to include Bitcoin as part of Coutts investment strategy.

    Like most naysayers from large banking institutions, she did claim that blockchain technology likely had a future. She added that it could prove useful in business and finance.

    Finally, its not just Bitcoin that Coutts fears is in a bubble. Rather, the entire technology sector is likely overvalued in their eyes. Chovin explained:

    Technology has been a significant outperformer this year in the US. It has risen by around 35pc in US dollar terms which is almost double the return from US equities.

    However, the investment strategist didnt dismiss all areas of tech as overpriced. She noted that along with the potential for blockchain technology to improve banking and finance, that AI and driver-less cars also looked promising.

    Homeopathic medicines may be effective in managing the symptoms of diabetic polyneuropathy patients. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    PMID:  Homeopathy. 2013 Apr ;102(2):130-8. PMID: 23622263 Abstract Title:  A prospective multi-centric open clinical trial of homeopathy in diabetic distal symmetric polyneuropathy. Abstract:  OBJECTIVES: To evaluate homeopathic treatment in the management of diabetic distal symmetric polyneuropathy.METHODS: A prospective multi-centric clinical observational study was carried out from October 2005 to September 2009 by Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) (India) at its five institutes/units. Patients suffering from diabetes mellitus (DM) and presenting with symptoms of diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN) were screened, investigated and were enrolled in the study after fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Patients were evaluated by the diabetic distal symmetric polyneuropathy symptom score (DDSPSS) developed by the Council. A total of 15 homeopathic medicines were identified after repertorizing the nosological symptoms and signs of the disease. The appropriate constitutional medicine was selected and prescribed in 30, 200 and 1 M potency on an individualized basis. Patients were followed up regularly for 12 months.RESULTS: Out of 336 patients (167 males and 169 females) enrolled in the study, 247 patients (123 males and 124 females) were analyzed. All patients who attended at least three follow-up appointments and baseline curve conduction studies were included in the analysis.). A statistically significant improvement in DDSPSS total score (p = 0.0001) was found at 12 months from baseline. Most objective measures did not show significant improvement. Lycopodium clavatum (n = 132), Phosphorus (n = 27) and Sulphur (n = 26) were the medicines most frequently prescribed. Adverse event of hypoglycaemia was observed in one patient only.CONCLUSION: This study suggests homeopathic medicines may be effective in managing the symptoms of DPN patients. Further studies should be controlled and include the quality of life (QOL) assessment.

    What Spirits Are Safe? "IndyWatch Feed Food"

    Spirits are a mixed bag, but you are likely to find at least several that you can enjoy without provoking health problems. Beware of flavored varieties of vodka or rum, as they are loaded with sugar and/or high-fructose corn syrup. In general, simple unflavored spirits are safest.

    Heres a short list to help you navigate through your holiday cocktail parties and toasts without exposing yourself to the harmful effects of grains.

    Vodkas brewed from nongrain sources, including Chopin (potatoes; outside of North America you will have to ask or examine the bottle for the source as there are also wheat and rye vodkas from Chopin) and Croc (grapes), are safe. Recently, many more vodkas are appearing on the market brewed from grapes, quinoa (not a grain), potatoes, and other sources, though not always nationally distributed.

    Brandies and cognacs are generally safe since they are distilled from wine. Safe brands include Grand Marnier, Courvoisier, and Rmy Martin. There are exceptions, such as Martell, that add caramel coloring (a potential grain exposure.)

    Gins are likewise safe, brewed from juniper and other herbs. However, some gins can be brewed from grains, though grain protein levels are typically negligible and only an issue for those with severe gluten sensitivity.

    Rum is distilled from sugarcane and therefore does not contain residues of grain proteins (and the sugar is fermented to alcohol).

    Whiskeys and bourbons are, like most beers, distilled from rye, barley, wheat, and corn and thereby potential problem sources. However, given the distillation process, whiskeys typically test below the 20-parts-per-million l...

    Go ahead and enjoy a glass of wine. "IndyWatch Feed Food"

    Having a glass or two of wine, brandy, or a cocktail is perfectly acceptable in the grain-free lifestyle, but you will have to be selective.

    The price of a poor choice can be reigniting an autoimmune condition, provoking high blood sugar, triggering an inappropriate emotional outburst that ruins your evening, or regaining those undesired pounds. The reward for choosing wisely can be a wonderful time spent with friends without such problems. Also, do recognize that any amount of wine, cocktails, or beer can stall weight loss.

    Navigating alcoholic beverages can be hazardous, as many are brewed from grains. But wine stands out as the safest choice in alcoholic beverages by a wide margin.

    Wine is as close to a perfect wheat- , grain-, and gluten-free beverage as it gets, regardless of varietal or vintage. If you consider the probable health effects that can be derived from light wine drinking (no more than two 4-ounce glasses per day), wine is proving to be both pleasurable and healthy.

    The vast majority of wines are made without exposure to anything wheat, grain, or gluten. There is one rare exception: Because of a push to get away from animal-derived clarifying agents, such as gelatin derived from cows (due to bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or mad cow disease), winemakers have sought non-animal sources of clarifying agents. Clarifying agents are used to make wines clearer and more appealing to the consumer. Clarification removes residual grape skin, seeds, or stem debris; dead yeast cells; and various proteins. Among the most popular clarifying agent choices are bentonite, potassium sorbate, and sodium benzoate. However, some winemakers have lately turned to gluten or deamidated gluten for wine clarification. Thankfully, this remains an uncommon practice. I believe it will become less common as more and more of us raise a stink about grain/gluten exposure in ANY food.

    The available scientific data on gluten content in wines in which gluten has be...

    Bitcoin Price Goes Absolutely Parabolic "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

    Were sure youre used to us posting these kinds of articles by now after all, weve had all-time highs just about every week for some time. However, today Bitcoin did something that its never done before. It increased in price by a massive $2,500 in one day. To put that into perspective, thats over $40 billion pouring into the market in a 24 hour period. Or, to put it the most exciting way:

    Were above $14,500*

    What exactly is driving this sudden surge in demand for the worlds hottest cryptocurrency is unclear. Is this the surge of institutional money that weve been hearing about since about 2013? Or, is there something else thats got people clamouring to get their hands on the planets first digital and scarce asset? Is it that Bitcoin has proved itself as a worthy store of value, and a way for people to escape the bonds with which central banks bind them?

    There has been a lot of news that seems to legitimise Bitcoin as a worthy investment for institutional types recently. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange declared that theyd launch what they presumed would be the worlds first Bitcoin Futures market on December 18. There was already talk of the Chicago Board Options Exchange following suit, but on Monday, they announced that they would beat the CME Group to offer the financial product. Theyve undercut their rivals and declared their market will go live on December 10.

    In addition, the planets second largest stock market, the NASDAQ, and now the Tokyo Financial Exchange also has a plan to launch Bitcoin Futures in early 2018. Meanwhile, the Cantor Fitzgerald exchange has declared their intention to launch a Bitcoin derivative. Clearly traditional investors are waking up to the idea of Bitcoin as a more mainstream trading option.

    However, theres likely more to it than just people trying to beat the big money into the market. Bitcoin itself appears stronger than ever before, irrespective of the price. On several occasions throughout 2017, weve had trying times. We faced the early setback of the Winklevoss ETF getting denied in the early part of the year, the takeoff and subsequent slowdown of Ethereums Ether token in the spring, the summers hard fork drama, the September China crisis, and recently, the insanity that was Segwit2x. Each time, Bitcoin has emerged stronger. It successfully demonstrated resistance to government regula...

    24 Things To Do Now That Will Improve Your Life and Prepare You For Old Age "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

    When you are younger sometimes you get caught up in life and forget to do things that will benefit you in the future. That being said, there are things you can do that will help you prepare for old age without having to do much at all.

    Below you will find a list of things that can and will improve your quality of life. Once you hit 30 if you arent already doing these things you should be. And when it comes to implementing these things, the sooner the better.

    1. Be there for your friends.

    2. Stop comparing yourself to other people.

    You are YOU and no one can change that. You shouldnt compare yourself to others because no one is perfect.  Focus on the good things in life.

    3. Keep a journal.

    Write down all your best memories so that once you are older you can have them to look back on. This will benefit you and those who love you once you have passed. It will give them something special to remember you by.

    4. Travel to wherever you want to.

    Get out there in the world and see places your heart wants you to see. Life is too short to spend it all in one place. Go on an adventure.

    6. Meditate more often.

    Meditating is one of the most relaxing things you can do. I do it every day and would suggest it to everyone. Even if you just do it for a mere 20 minutes a day your life will be a lot less stressful. While it may sound a bit odd, it really does help.

    7. Get the sleep you need.

    Dont neglect yourself. If you need to get some sleep then do it. If 4 hours a day isnt doing it for you, get more. Sleep is extremely important and when you arent getting enough of it, your health will decline.

    8. Make memories when you can.

    A methanol extract of dandelion could attenuate LPS-induced endothelial activation by inhibiting the NF-B pathway. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    PMID:  BMC Complement Altern Med. 2017 Nov 29 ;17(1):508. Epub 2017 Nov 29. PMID: 29187173 Abstract Title:  Anti-inflammatory evaluation of the methanolic extract of Taraxacum officinale in LPS-stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Abstract:  BACKGROUND: Atherosclerosis is a chronic vascular inflammatory disease. Since even low-level endotoxemia constitutes a powerful and independent risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis, it is important to find therapies directed against the vascular effects of endotoxin to prevent atherosclerosis. Taraxacum officinale (TO) is used for medicinal purposes because of its choleretic, diuretic, antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties, but its anti-inflammatory effect on endothelial cells has not been established.METHODS: We evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity of TO filtered methanol extracts in LPS-stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) by monocyte adhesion and western blot assays. HUVECs were pretreated with 100 g/ml TO for 1 h and then incubated with 1 g/ml LPS for 24 h. The mRNA and protein expression levels of the targets (pro-inflammatory cytokines and adhesion molecules) were analyzed by real-time PCR and western blot assays. We also preformed HPLC analysis to identify the components of the TOmethanol extract.RESULTS: The TO filtered methanol extracts dramatically inhibited LPS-induced endothelial cell-monocyte interactions by reducing vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression. TO suppressed the LPS-induced nuclear translocation of NF-B, whereas it did not affect MAPK activation.CONCLUSIONS: Our findings demonstrated that methanol extracts of TO could attenuate LPS-induced endothelial cell activation by inhibiting the NF-B pathway. These results indicate the potential clinical benefits and applications of TO for the prevention of vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis.

Abstract:  Taraxasterol is one of the important constituents of Taraxacum officinale L. (Compositae) with antioxidant potential. The present study was designed to evaluate and compare the antiurolithiatic effects of taraxasterol and potassium citrate in the ethylene glycol induced urolithiatic rat. Urolithiasis was induced by ammonium chloride and ethylene glycol in adult male rats. Taraxasterol (2, 4 and 8 mg/kg) and potassium citrate (2.5 g/kg) were treated for 33 days by gavage. Then, the animals were anesthetized and weighted and blood, urine, liver and kidney sampling were done. The kidney sections were prepared by hematoxylin&eosin staining. The liver and kidney coefficients, urine pH, calcium, magnesium, oxalate and citrate levels, serum albumin, calcium and magnesium levels, serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase activities, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities in serum, kidney and liver, number of calcium oxalate crystal deposits, score of crystal deposits, score of histopathological damages and score of inflammation in kidney sections were evaluated. The results showed that taraxasterol decreased liver and kidney coefficients (p

    Video: Liberal Mayor Literally Cries After Argument With City Councilwoman Who Refused To Acknowledge Her White Privilege "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

    In yet another astonishing example of unhinged liberalism, the mayor of New Brighton, Minnesota was recorded breaking down in tears after a councilwoman explained how her life history did not line up with the liberal claim that she had benefited from white privilege throughout her life.

    The video footage, taken during a city council meeting on October 3rd of this year, starts with liberal councilwoman Mary Burg lecturing her peers as to why they should feel guilty for being white.

    In her rambling speech, Burg seemingly suggested that the city council couldnt even move forward with their job if they did not all accept that there life was easier for simply being white, regardless of actual life experiences.

    Okay, we all have white privilege. We dont know what its like to not have it because we do. We go everywhere and were just, we have that. We, we dont know the difference.

    We dont know what its like to not have it and I said we cant do what, look at whos up here. We cant move forward as all being people of white privilege. We cant, because we dont know the difference of not having it.

    Burgs assertions were then challenged by councilwoman Gina Bauman, who calmly explained her life story, complete with immigrant parents and a history of working hard to get where she is now.

    Because Im white, you think I was privileged my whole life? Are you kidding? Bauman countered. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood. They came here, my grandfather came, they didnt speak English, but they assimilated.

    I resent that you think that I had white privilege, Bauman continued before also noting that every single American citizen has privilege simply for living in the United States. (Of course this is a horrifying thought to the new liberal mindset)

    Phytochemicals present in Ruta showed potential for natural therapeutic product development for colon carcinoma. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    PMID:  Homeopathy. 2015 Jan ;104(1):36-47. Epub 2014 Nov 29. PMID: 25576270 Abstract Title:  DNA fragmentation and cell cycle arrest: a hallmark of apoptosis induced by Ruta graveolens in human colon cancer cells. Abstract:  In the present study, we investigated the anti-cancer effect of various potencies of Ruta graveolens (Ruta) on COLO-205 cell line, as evidenced by cytotoxicity, migration, clonogenecity, morphological and biochemical changes and modification in the levels of genes associated with apoptosis and cell cycle. On treatment of COLO-205 cells maximal effects were seen with mother tincture (MT) and 30C potencies, wherein decrease in cell viability along with reduced clonogenecity and migration capabilities were noted. In addition morphological and biochemical alterations such as nuclear changes (fragmented nuclei with condensed chromatin) and DNA ladder-like pattern (increased amount of fragmented DNA) in COLO-205 cells indicating apoptotic related cell death were seen. The expression of apoptosis and cell-cycle related regulatory genes assessed by reverse transcriptase-PCR revealed an up-regulation of caspase 9, caspase-3, Bax, p21 and p27 expression and down-regulation of Bcl-2 expression in treated cells. The mode of cell death was suggestive of intrinsic apoptotic pathway along with cell cycle arrest at the G2/M of the cell cycle. Our findings indicate that phytochemicals present in Ruta showed potential for natural therapeutic product development for colon carcinoma.

    Days Since the President Did Something Stupid sign still stuck on zero "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

    With a weary sigh, Albert Cox custodian to the White House yesterday again pressed the reset button on the Days since the President Did Something Stupid Sign that adorns the lawn on Pennsylvania Avenue.

    The latest action, promising to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, has caused massive instability in the middle-east and led to a promise of four days of rage from the Palestinians.

    For Cox, chief caretaker for six Presidents, changing the display has become an almost daily ritual in the last eleven months. I almost forgot we had the sign at all. He said to our White House correspondent. I hadnt had to push it in almost 15 years. All the way back to midway through [George W] Bushs first term when he choked on that pretzel.

    The sign, largely forgotten about and hidden by an overgrown hedge after years of administration ranging from moderately competent to well-handled, has now been thoroughly cleaned and refurbished, with the privet now nearly trimmed back and the bulbs replaced on the first digit. It was installed by President Ford after his trip down the airport steps in 1975 and had only been reset a handful of times since this year.

    The first was seven days into the Trump Presidency, after the signing of the Executive Order banning travel from specific foreign countries that outraged many and was widely derided as highly xenophobic.

    Following this, barely a week has gone by without Cox making the journey to the circuit breaker room to adjust the sign and re-zero the counter. He remembers the day well, When he signed the order, someone mentioned the sign and it took some thinking to recall where the reset was. The button was thick with dust, now it looks brand new from all the pushing in the last year.

    Standing beside the sign, Cox looks wistfully at the previous record of 5492 days. I just wonder if well get to double figures again in the next three years. He says, tending to the grass beside the posts. Suddenly, his cell-phone beeps. With a roll of his eyes, he takes it out and reads the message. If youll excuse me gents, I have to go reset the sign, our president has just tweeted again. I should just link the reset to his account, it would save me going up and down those stairs.

    The findings from several lab and clinical studies suggest that homeopathy might have some beneficial effect in cancer care. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

    PMID:  Curr Oncol Rep. 2015 Sep ;17(9):43. PMID: 26210222 Abstract Title:  Is There a Role for Homeopathy in Cancer Care? Questions and Challenges. Abstract:  Patients with cancer commonly use complementary and integrative medicine, including homeopathy. Homeopathy has grown in popularity with the public but is viewed with skepticism by medical academia and is still excluded from conventionally prescribed treatments. In recent years, homeopathy has been used in cancer care in Europe and other countries worldwide. This use raised the question if there is any benefit in utilizing this type of care with cancer patients. The purpose of this manuscript is to explore the evidence related to the benefit of homeopathy in cancer care. Limited research has suggested that homeopathic remedies appear to cause cellular changes in some cancer cells. In animal models, several homeopathic remedies have had an inhibitory effect on certain tumor development. Some clinical studies of homeopathic remedies combined with conventional care have shown that homeopathic remedies improve quality of life, reduce symptom burden, and possibly improve survival in patients with cancer. The findings from several lab and clinical studies suggest that homeopathy might have some beneficial effect in cancer care; however, further large, comprehensive clinical studies are needed to determine these beneficial effects. Although additional studies are needed to confirm these findings, given the low cost, minimal risks, and the potential magnitude of homeopathy's effects, this use might be considered in certain situations as an additional tool to integrate into cancer care.

    Stinkfish, Mazatl, Kill Joy Walking With The Lenca "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

    In April and May 2016, street artists Stinkfish, Mazatl and Kill Joy visited the Lenca indigenous communities in Intibuc and San Francisco Lempira in Honduras.  The expedition was the first part of an independent street art initiative, the Cuma Project, whose aim is to support people and communities of Latin America who face injustices due to poverty and the policies of their governments.

    For the first edition of Cuma Project, the artists painted murals in communities affected by the violent construction of a hydroelectric dam along their rivers.

    The organisers have produced a series of limited edition screen prints that are now on sale on the Cuma Project website, with the 10% of the money raised donated directly to non-profit organization COPINH (The Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras).

    A second edition of the project in El Salvador is currently underway for 2018 with new artists

    All you need to know on by reference vs by value "IndyWatch Feed Education"

    When it comes to software engineering there are quite a few misunderstood concepts and misused terms. By reference vs by value is definitely one of them.

    I remember back in the day when I read up on the topic and every source I went through seemed to contradict the previous one. It took some time to get a solid grasp of it. I had no choice as it is a fundamental subject if you are a software engineer.

    I ran into a nasty bug a few weeks back and decided to write an article so other people may have easier time figuring this whole thing out.

    I code in Ruby on a daily basis. I also use JavaScript pretty often, so I have chosen these two languages for this presentation.

    To understand all the concepts though we will use some Go and Perl examples as well.

    To grasp the whole topic you have to understand 3 different things:

    • How the underlying data structures are implemented in the language (objects, primitive types, mutability,).
    • How variable assignment/copying/reassignment/comparison work
    • How variables are passed to functions

    Underlying data types

    In Ruby there are no primitive types and everything is an object including integers and booleans.

    And yes there is a TrueClass in Ruby.

    true.is_a?(TrueClass) => true
    3.is_a?(Integer) => true
    true.is_a?(Object) => true
    3.is_a?(Object) => true
    TrueClass.is_a?(Object) => true
    Integer.is_a?(Object) => true

    These objects can be either mutable or immutable.

    Immutable means there is no way you can change the object once it is created. There is just one instance for a given value with one object_id and it stays the same no matter what you do.

    By default in Ruby the immutable object types are: Boolean, Numeric, nil, and Symbol.

    In MRI the object_id of an object is the same as the VALUE that represents the object on the C level. For most kinds of objects this VALUE is a pointer to a location in memory where the actual object data is stored.

    From now on we will use object_id and memory address interchangeably.

    Lets run some Ruby code in MRI for an immutable Symbol and a mutable String:

    :symbol.object_id => 808668
    :symbol.object_id => 808668
    'string'.object_id => 70137215233780
    'string'.object_id => 70137215215120

    A Cardboard Box Alternative to Yayoi Kusamas Infinity Rooms "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

    Jon Burgerman with his Infinity Box outside David Zwirner (all photos courtesy the artist)

    Are the people queuing junkies for art and Yayoi, or just desperate for something to stick on their Instagram?

    The question that artist Jon Burgerman asks, regarding the ongoing Yayoi Kusama exhibition at David Zwirners 19th Street gallery, is one that undoubtedly pops into peoples minds whenever the Japanese artist has a show of her Infinity Mirror Rooms. Standing in line often for hours and, at times, in the cold has become an expected part of viewing Kusamas mirror installations, which are intended for one or two people at a time to spend about 30 seconds inside. Instagram has, without question, fed the frenzy.

    A man looks into Infinity Box

    So can the publics desire for a shiny gram be more conveniently fulfilled by a cardboard box adorned with just the right wrapping paper? About a week ago, Burgerman showed up outside David Zwirner with exactly that: his Infinity Box, a mini Kusama-inspired installation, or a box whose interior he wrapped with glittery paper, complete with a cutout hole for viewers. He paced the line outside the gallery and asked if anyone wanted to have a free and immediate peep inside.

    I wanted to offer people the option of getting a quick selfie with my cardboard box version, to save them a few hours in the queue, Burgerman told Hyperallergic. I thought maybe if youre ju...
