Chris Wares Annotated Visual History of His Comics Career "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Spread from Chris Wares Monograph, published by Rizzoli (all photos by the author for Hyperallergic)

Graphic novelist Chris Ware is known for his dense, satirical, and self-deprecating stories. Often unconventionally designed, his books require close physical proximity to make out his miniature figures and text, twisting the book around to read the panels; some even take the form of boxes full of other books, as with Building Stories. His latest book, Monograph, measures 18 by 13 inches and weighs over seven pounds. The size is nostalgic of large-format newsprint comics. But unlike those fragile pages, this book is sturdy, hardcover-bound, and meant to last.

Cover of Chris Wares Monograph, published by Rizzoli

Monograph is neither an autobiography nor a memoir; it is a visual history based on ephemera and remembrances, with a narrative loosely built around these objects. Ware, whose work has been published by Fantagraphics and Pantheon, and has graced the cover of the New Yorker and Paris Review, explains that the title references the lonely state of cartoonists, the somewhat self-referential title of this book: mono for alone, graph for drawing. Upon reading this, I picture Ware...

Knitting is not just for women and girls.... "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Sailors, lighthouse keepers, shepherds and men in a variety of other occupations knitted, as a way of passing time productively, and making hats, socks, and other garments that weren't readily available for purchase in the isolated places that they lived and worked. How high is practical for hose irrigation with 330 gallon IBCs? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

I have acquired a few 330 gallon IBC totes. I am breaking in a new garden plot, line of young fruit trees, and livestock pen that I want to provide water to. My closest hose bib is across a fairly busy dirt road and I neither want to expose the hose to road traffic nor drag 150 of hose back and forth daily.

None of these distances are over 50 from where I want to put my tiny water tower. How high do you recommend I place it? I know someone here has been through a similar challenge....

Washington Governor Warns: We Have Just 59 DaysTo Save Our Children From Global Warming "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

inslee

Washington Governor Jay Inslee took to Twitter to warn his followers that they have a mere 59 days to save children from global warming.  The Tweet, which was posted yesterday, is meant to scare readers and the Washington legislature into enacting a carbon tax.

According to the Daily Caller, the state legislatures session ends in 59 days, on March 8. Democrats have a slim majority in both state legislative chambers. Inslee wants lawmakers to pass a tax on carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and industrial facilities.

Inslees plan would tax carbon dioxide emissions at $20 a ton in 2019, that would gradually rise at 3.5 percent above inflation each following year. Inslees office estimates it will raise $3.3 billion over the next four years.

About $950 million would go toward education programs. The rest would go toward green energy programs and research, water infrastructure, wildfire mitigation. Some money would offset taxes or go to poor families, but the bill isnt clear on this particularly murky additive to it.  The plan could raise household electricity prices five percent, and gas prices by about 10 percent, according to official estimates

Half of the money from the tax  (which would be paid by power plants and fuel importers but would ultimately be passed onto the consumers) would go into efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

So, yes there will be impacts on fuel and energy prices, but we expect these to be modest and fully within the range of what would be expected by normal price fluctuation, said Lauren...

The Scientism of Psychiatry "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Psychiatry likes to portray itself as a scientific discipline, and indeed there is a lot of useful science to draw on when evaluating the evidence base connected to mental health problems, its causes and treatments. Sadly, most of the mainstream psychiatric literature of recent decades has shown a marked preference for rhetoric over scientific accuracy. Research and discourse in psychiatry are now dominated and infected by scientism the promotion of a belief, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not, that because what you do and talk about sounds and looks like science, it is scientific rather than a rational engagement with the nature and consequences of the actual scientific findings.

This scientism has sometimes scared critics from engagement with the actual science in preference of critiquing the suitability of using scientific reasoning to understand what we today define as mental health. Opening the lid on both issues (the lack of engagement with the actual scientific findings and the suitability of using particular scientific methods for all knowledge generation) is important. We must endeavour to make transparent the grand deception that organisations such as the one I belong to (the British Royal College of Psychiatrists) are selling to the public about the nature of what we have come to call mental illness, its causes, its treatments, and the way we should organise services to help those who become mentally unwell.

Science and Evidence Based Medicine (EBM)

Science is generally regarded as the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Science uses a methodological approach involving hypothesis generation and then testing the hypothesis through empirical methods. The best scientists can live with and accept uncertainty as a prerequisite to being objective in the pursuit of knowledge. Knowledge develops and builds through generating a hypothesis (often using results from previous research) and then carrying out an investigation aimed at proving that something called a null hypothesis cant be true. The null hypothesis is a general statement or default position that there is no relationship between certain measured phenomena. Rejecting or disproving the null hypothesis and thus concluding that there are grounds for believing that there is a relationship and the actual hypothesis may be true is a central task in the modern practice of science.

One of the major problems with the current concepts used in psychiatry can be understood by going back to the basic assumptions on which much of psychiatric research rests. In order to scientifically evaluate the proposition that there is a natural category of dysfunction/disorder called, for example, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), we must start with t...

A Forest Elegy for the Rapidly Vanishing American Hemlock Tree "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Exchange Tree, installation in Harvard Forest, wood and acrylic paint. Collaborators: David Buckley Borden, Aaron Ellison, Salvador Jimnez-Flores, and Salua Rivero (courtesy David Buckley Borden)

Across the Eastern United States, an invasive insect is killing one of the foundation trees of the North American forest. The hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) is believed to have arrived on plant nursery stock from East Asia, and is irreparably devastating the eastern hemlocks. While cold weather can curb the insects spread, the warming temperatures of climate change have encouraged their migration north through 18 states, from Georgia to Maine. Hemlocks have no natural resistance to HWA, and there is no cure.

The insect has been in North America since the 1950s, and it only got up here at Harvard Forest around 2009, Aaron M. Ellison, senior ecologist at the Harvard Forest, told Hyperallergic. It is taking out our trees relatively rapidly.

Ellison collaborated with artist David Buckley Borden on a year-long installation called Hemlock Hospice, on view along a two-mile out-and-back public trail in the Harvard Forest. Located about 65 miles west of Cambridge, Massachusetts, the 4,000-acre active research area was founded by Harvard University in 1907. Scientists expect that the hemlock forests of Massachusetts including Harvards will functionally disappear by 2025.

Speaking in Whistles: The Whistled Language of Oaxaca, Mexico "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Whistled language is a rare form of communication that can be mostly found in locations with isolating features such as scattered settlements or mountainous terrain. This documentary above shows how Dr. Mark Sicoli, Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Georgetown University, conducts field studies among speakers of a Chinantec language, who live in the mountainous region of northern Oaxaca in Mexico. The Summer Institute of Linguistics in Mexico has recorded and transcribed a whistled conversation in Sochiapam Chinantec between two men in different fields. The result can be seen and heard here.

The most thoroughly-researched whistled language however is Silbo Gomero, the language of the island of La Gomera (Canary Islands). In 2009, it was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The UNESCO website has a good description of this whistled language with photos and a video. Having almost died out, the language is now taught once more in schools.

The Murder
Billie Jo Jenkins didnt have an easy start in life. Her mother was unable to raise her alone after her father (Bayard Jenkins) was incarcerated and so she was put up for adoption as a child. Eventually, at the age of 8, she found a home with a family in the beautiful, historic town of Hastings, East Sussex on the Southeast Coast of England. She was adopted by the Jenkins family who shared her Surname- a coincidence suggesting it was meant to be.
Unfortunately for the young girl, her short life would end in a violent and bloody death.

Moneyless unveils a new piece in Milan, Italy "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

It has been a long time since we last heard from Moneyless on StreetArtNews, but he is back! Moneyless murals are harmonious and often symmetrical, guiding the eye with angles and repeating lines that border on psychedelia. He began as an artist with graffiti and transitioned to his signature geometric style when he made the decision to eliminate the symbolic value of letters from his work. This time, the Italian artist painted an abstract piece featuring some of his signature geometric imagery right in the heart of Milan.

Done for Valextra and curated by The Don Gallery, this artwork was done on a wall made specifically to hide the construction of a store behind. If you are in the region, this mural sits near the Scala Theatre, Via Manzoni 3, Milan. Its going to be taken down in February, so be quick to see it in the flesh. Its beautiful!

The Hundred Trillion Stories in Your Head "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

In this piece for The Paris Review, Benjamin Ehrlich discusses the role of the literary arts in shaping the work and ideas of Santagio Ramn y Cajal, the father of modern neuroscience.

The world of the infinitely small, like novels of his youth, seemed more real to Cajal than everyday existence. How else could he routinely spend up to fifteen hours a day, for almost fifty years, alone in the laboratory? He claimed to have observed a million neurons, witnessing them in every phase of their lives: birth, development, movement, relationships, adversity, trauma, decline, and death. On thumbnail sheets of dead brain tissue, the Spaniards cherished stories came to life. He imagined neurons as protagonists in an intense cerebral drama. Their fibers groped to find another. Their aching contacts became protoplasmic kissesthe final ecstasy of an epic love story.'

When the Cure is the Cause: The Case of the Green Hairy Tongue "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

From Undark Magazine: In late 1970, a pharmacologist discovered that an antibiotic drug designed to cure a disease called SMON (subacute myelo-optic neuropathy) was actually causing the illness. This case exemplifies how medical treatment all too often makes matters worse.

Few doctors know the story of SMON, and perhaps even fewer use the catchphrase cure as cause. Yet the phenomenon is more relevant today than ever. A study published last year suggests that medical interventions, including problems with prescribed drugs and implanted medical devices from cardiac stents to artificial hips and birth control devices are now the third leading cause of death in the U.S.

Examples abound in virtually every specialty, from cardiology to psychiatry to cancer care. Jerome Hoffman, an emeritus professor of medicine at UCLA, says it isnt surprising: Because drugs and medical devices target disordered body systems, its all too easy to overshoot and make the disorder worse.

George RR Martin Under Fire After Speech in Front of Banner That Reads Series Accomplished "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

SANTA FE, N.M. A Song of Ice and Fire author George RR Martin is being attacked online by fans after giving a speech under a large banner that read Series Accomplished, claiming that he had succeeded in completing his book series.

The series, which originally was planned as a trilogy but has now been promised as seven books, has released five novels so far, the last of which, A Dance with Dragons, came out in 2011. Martin has continuously pushed back the release date for his sixth book as he continues to write it, but this is the first instance of him claiming that the book series is actually complete.

In the early 1990s, I set out to write a series of novels called A Song of Ice and Fire, and today, we are here to celebrate the fact that the series is completed, he said, inexplicably to a large group of military officials on an aircraft carrier. Mission accomplished.

Read More From Hard Drive, The Only Ethical Gaming Journalism Site on The Internet:

The announcement from Martin comes with no new information about the completion of the sixth ASOIAF book, titled The Winds of Winter, or even the announcement of a companion ASOIAF book, such as the Targaryen history book he had originally planned for 2018 titled Fire and Blood. Fans were confused to discover that Martin also did not announce a new Dunk and Egg book or even a newly edited Wild Cards novel.

Im used to being angry at George RR Martin but this is a weird, new feeling, said popular Reddit r/asoiaf user BryndenBFish.  Also, I know George has denied that Danys plot in Mereen is a metaphor for the Iraq War but this announcement definitely...

South Korea Tells Two Dozen Countries and the IMF to Regulate Cryptocurrency Trading "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

We have witnessed dozens of global attempts to regulate cryptocurrencies in recent years. None of these efforts have been positive whatsoever. South Korea now urges other countries, as well as the IMF, to curb cryptocurrency trading. An interesting stance, although it may turn out rather positive for the future of Bitcoin and altcoins. Whether any of the addressed parties will take action, is something else entirely.

In a way, curbing cryptocurrency trading is all governments can do right now. Rather than take Chinas lead, following South Korea may not be a bad idea. More specifically, the local financial regulator wants to prevent money laundering, terrorist funding, et cetera. Cross-border cyber transactions involving cryptocurrency have become rather problematic in South Korea over the past few months. It is unclear if any other region of the world has to deal with similar issues right now.

Regulating Cryptocurrency Trading Wont be Easy

An international coordination to regulate cryptocurrency trading will not be easy to achieve. Very few countries are actively concerned about this new form of money. The laissez-faire attitude reigns supreme in this regard. If countries were to work together, however,  interesting things could happen. It will be either beneficial or destructive for the cryptocurrency ecosystem. In this day and age, there is no middle path when it comes to governments, regulation, and cryptocurrency.

With South Korea attempting to initiate discussions, a big first step has been taken. Addressing the way people can buy and exchange cryptocurrency seems to be the top priority. No country can afford to ignore this new form of money any longer. Preventing speculative transactions is another important aspect to keep in mind. Right now, all cryptocurrencies are mainly valued based on hype and speculation. It creates very volatile markets where money can be earned and lost very quickly.

Although it is commendable to tap the IMF in this regard, that institution most likely wont intervene. More specifically, th...

Bitcoin Price Watch; Staying The Course "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

So we are now midway through the week and things havent been particularly easy from a bitcoin price perspective as far as long-term holdings are concerned so far. Price took a real dip overnight yet again and the bitcoin price currently sits in and around $13,800 more than 30% down on all-time highs.

As ever, when we see a dip like this, it translates to a substantial degree of weakened sentiment and generally results in an increased weakening effect purely based on the fact that people are selling in anticipation of further decline.

As most who have been in the space for a while will know, these depreciation periods arent too much of a concern and can often serve up nice opportunities to pick up cheap coins ahead of a longer-term return to the overarching upside momentum.

Thats the hope, anyway.

Whatever happens, were going to stay the course with our intraday strategy and make sure that we are ready to jump in and out of the markets as and when we get any favorable movement.

So, with this said, lets get some levels in place that we can use for the session today. As ever, take a quick look at the chart below before we get started so as to get an idea where things stand. The chart is a one-minute candlestick chart and it has our primary range overlaid in green.

As the chart shows, the range we are looking at for the session today comes in as defined by support to the downside at 13763 and resistance to the upside at 13912.

If we see price close above resistance, we will enter long towards 14050. A stop loss at 1380 looks good.

Conversely, a close below support will signal a short entry towards 13660. A stop loss on this one at 13800 works well from a risk management perspective.

Sewing a Button onto Knitwear "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

Have you ever gotten to the end of a cardigan pattern only to realize that you arent quite sure how to sew on the buttons? Sure, you can sew on onto a shirt But a sweater?

While there are many ways to sew a button onto knitwear, here are two of our favorite methods: one without a backing button and one with. While both methods are very good at securing buttons, a button with a backing button is sturdier and gentler on the fabric. Give both a try and see which one you prefer!

To sew a button onto knitwear, youll need

  • A button that fits snuggly through the buttonhole
  • A tapestry needle that fits through the holes of the button
  • Some thread or fine yarn that fits through the eye of the needle
  • A larger tapestry needle for creating the shank
  • Scissors
  • A fabric marker
  • Optional: A smaller button, if you want to sew on a backing button

NOTE: These instructions are for a two-hole button but can be easily applied to a four-hole one!

Sewing On A Button Without A Backing

  1. Thread the needle and pull the thread, so that one end of the thread is slightly longer than the other. Insert the needle through one of the holes in the button from back to front, then from front to back, and pull the thread until the shorter end pulls clear of the button.
  2. With the two ends of the thread, make a square knot right near the ends of the threads. Make another knot, then snip the tails near the knot and slide the thread so that the knot is very close to the backside of the button.
  3. Find the stitch where youd like to sew the button and mark it with a fabric marker. Place the button on that stitch, making sure the knot stays close to the backside of the button. Insert the needle to one side of the marked stitch from the right side of the fabric to the wrong side and then on the other side of the marked stitch, from wrong side to right side, coming up through the other hole of the button.
  4. Pull up gently on the button to loosen the thread a little and then slide the extra tapestry needle under the loop of thread at the top of the button. Now tighten the thread.
  5. Sew back and forth through both holes of the button, from right side to wrong side and wrong side to right side, three or four times. When finished, come up from the wrong side to the right side and then back down through the next hole of the button, but not through the fabric.
  6. Remove the extra tapestry needle and wrap the thread approximately four times around the bun...

Britain's Food Nannies Will No Longer Sell You 1.75L Bottles of Coca-Cola "IndyWatch Feed Food"

Yup, you read that right - if you live in Britain, you might want to stock up on 1.75L bottles of Coca-Cola, as starting in March, you'll be forced to buy only 1.5L bottles.

And yet there's no outcry from the beverage industry.

You'd think there would be. After all, back when nanny Bloomberg tried to pass his cup size ban - the one that would have forced you to buy two 500ml cups if you wanted to drink the volume of a human stomach (1L) worth of soda at once, the beverage industry bought a full page advertisement in the New York Times to complain about it (that's it up above).

But what about Brits' rights to buy 1.75L bottles of liquid candy? Why no screaming about Britain's fun and freedom stealing nanny?

Because Britain's nanny is the beverage industry. You see Coca-Cola, consequent to Britain's new soda tax, wants to ensure people keep buying plenty of product, and to help ease the tax' sting, they're going to stop selling 1.75L bottles (which incur more tax) altogether.

So the next time you're tempted to shout about the nanny state when someone like Bloomberg proposes a new policy designed to encourage decreased consumption of junk food, remember, you already live in a nanny state.

The food industry is your nanny.

Page 3 to feature extracts from Chilcot inquiry "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

'Actually, string 'em up,' says Rupert, 83In a surprise U-turn, The Sun has renewed its commitment to publishing salacious images that may cause offence to decent people everywhere, including Tony Blair and George W. Bush in a series of compromising positions with Weapons of Mass Destruction. Editor David Dinsmore explained: Figuratively speaking Blair and Bush were the biggest pair of tits we could find. And there are plenty more breast-related puns where that one came from, oh yes. Just keep counting.

Several media outlets were premature in reporting demise of Page 3 after The Sun briefly experimented with publishing words as well as pictures on it. Now, many believe, printing the text of the Chilcot Inquiry on Page 3 over the course of the coming year could prove to be more controversial than the semi-naked torsos. One diplomat commented: British Intelligence with their pants down may not have the phwoar factor, but it will certainly be seen as a booby trap. Two.

Many fear that the delay in releasing the Chilcot Report into the 2003 Iraq War was due to concerns that people would objectify Tony Blair. A spokesman for the ex-Prime Minister said: Mr Blair is more than just a tremendous boob. He needs to be respected as a person and a former leader of his country, not just seen as someone suffering from mammary lapse. Three no, four, actually. Wooo.

MPs from all parties have demanded immediate access to Tony Blairs baby pillows. A spokesman for the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said: In the interests of transparency its only right we get a look at the good stuff. Sir John Chilcot cant just keep all those lovely apple dumplings to himself. Do either of those count? AND the puns, ahahahahaha.

Campaigners against topless photos of women on Page 3 have condemned the decision, saying that this may be even worse than what went before. One said: Featuring Tony Blair is explicit enough in a tabloid paper, but we draw the line at Bush.

Recent Study Proves That Ibuprofen is Directly Linked to Male Infertility "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Sperm counts of men living in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe are dropping at a shocking rate, with researchers reporting as much as a 59% decline in total sperm count over a 40-year period ending in 2011. For couples currently living with the reality of infertility, this number is staggering! It comes as no surprise, considering that startling data, that the fertility industry in the United States is currently valued at over $2 billion. With couples spending incredible amounts of money just for the chance to start their own families we have to ask, what are we doing that has resulted in such a dramatic loss in fertility for the male population?

Experts have explored a number of theories from the food we are eating to the clothes we wear, but one has recently caught the attention of researchers. Erma Z. Drobnis, PhD., an associate professional practice professor of reproductive medicine and fertility at the University of Missouri, Columbia explained that there is a significant problem overlooked in the testing process for medication today. While most medications are assessed for their impact on female fertility and pregnancy complications, the effects on male fertility are rarely investigated.

Drobnis explained, There is evidence that some medications are particularly harmful to the male reproductive system, including testosterone, opioids, antidepressants, antipsychotics, immune modulators and even over-the-counter antacid cimetidine (Tagamet). However, prescribing providers rarely mention these adverse effects with patients when prescribing these medications.

One such medication, experts are now reporting, is the commonly used NSAID ibuprofen. Often taken by high-level athletes as a preventative measure in an attempt to avoid pain and muscle soreness, a new study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has discovered that regular use of the medication has been linked with decreased levels of fertility in men.

The study included 31 male volunteers aged 18 to 35. During the study 14 of the volunteers received 600 milligrams of ibuprofen twice daily, equivalent to the reg...

After this introduction, I will post a couple of videos that talk about this (Kp blog link to videos).

I did notice that this web page has a variety of images that display various informations about the cabal, the corporate media, alternative media, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. (and I really DO mean ., etc., etc., etc., etc.!). Theres a tonne of neat images here.

First of all, below are links to the two primary images that are being talked about (all over the place) (these are HI RES images) (the KEY jpeg is about how to translate the Q WEB):

Q Anon: Learn to Read the Map "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

TZ here; It has been suggested to me that this video might be of interest to the PFC readers. There are some interesting maps shown in this video, some of them you may have seen before as they are several years old. Frankly I find this black and white map which connects just about every single phenomenon you can think of to cause confusion. You would have to be extremely well versed and aware of the real truth to understand it. I want to point this out because Cobra reminded us that the Q Anon information could be relied upon to the amount of 70%.

We are most definitely headed for a long-needed reform on this planet. The so called swamp will be drained of that you need have no doubt. Remember that the information that we often hear is very often exaggerated. I totally understand the need for us to know that things are happening. There are arrests and indictments happening, however you must take a large pinch of salt with everything you read. Remember always that the cabal are also reading and following everything that people like Ben Fulford and David Wilcock are telling us, and they can see to it that Benjamins Pentagon sources e.g. are fed with false info to report to him. The battle rages at every level. A reminder here that the much spoken about arrests of the Saudi princes was not the Light Alliance taking down the dark but simply the one dark group throwing the other dark group under the bus but then you knew that, didnt you? The intuitive listening to the heart reader will know when the truth is real or manipulated.

Perhaps you remember that I have stated years ago that Jesuits will throw the Illuminazi faction under the bus in order to survive.

This is why Erik Princes Blackwater/Academi mercenaries have engineered the mass arrests of the Illuminazi faction in Saudi Arabia:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5108651/American-mercenaries-torturing-Saudi-princes.html

Now the Jesuit/Rothschild backed faction in Saudi Arabia, Israel and USA is trying to engineer a war with Iran:

Notations: John Cage Publishes a Book of Graphic Musical Scores, Featuring Visualizations of Works by Leonard Bernstein, Igor Stravinsky, The Beatles & More (1969) "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

If you know just one piece by avant-garde composer and all-around oracle of indeterminacy John Cage, you know 1952's 4'33", which consists, for that length of time, of no deliberately played sounds at all. You'd think that if any piece could be played without a score, Cage's signature composition could, but he did make sure to write one, and we featured it here on Open Culture a few years ago. Look at that score, of sorts, and you'll sense that Cage had an interest not just in unconventional music, but in equally unconventional ways of notating that music. Hence the Notations project, Cage's 1969 book collecting pieces of scores by 269 different composers and accompanying them with short texts.

Assembling the book from materials archived at the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Cage did include a page of one of his own scores, though not that of 4'33" but of Music of Changes, a piano piece he'd composed the year before it for his friend David Tudor.

Tudor, a pianist as well as a composer of experimental music in his own right, also gets a page in Notations from his 1958 work Solo for Piano (Cage) for Indeterminacy. Lest this...

Chemotherapy Promotes Inflammation, Causes Cancer to Spread Yet Another Study "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Yet another study has been published proving the link between chemotherapy and aggressive cancer promotion. Do we need any more evidence that the trillion-dollar cancer industry is completely toxic?

Published by the Beth Israel Deaconess Center, an article titled, Double Edged Sword: Killing Cancer Cells Can Also Drive Tumor Growth gives us the low-down on these toxic treatments.

The article summarizes a study conducted by researchers at the Center which found that radiation and chemotherapy treatments which seek to treat cancer by killing tumor cells are actually causing cancerous tumors to grow larger and more prolific.

A team that included researchers from BIDMC have shown that the dead and dying cancer cells generated by chemotherapy and targeted cancer therapy paradoxically trigger inflammation that promotes aggressive tumor growth.

The researchers suggest that chemo and radiation cause inflammation in the body, which contributes to cancerous tumors. The unintended consequence of these treatments is to cause cancer, not cure it.

In this study we demonstrate that chemotherapy-generated debris from dead and dying tumor cells can stimulate tumor growth, which has pivotal implications for the treatment of cancer patients, said senior author Dipak Panigrahy, MD, assistant professor of pathology in the Department of Pathology. Conventional cancer therapy designed to kill tumor cells is inherently a double-edged sword.

With this, and another study that we recently highlighted at Mind Unleashed, titled Neoadjuvant chemotherapy induces breast cancer metastasis through a TMEM-mediated mechanism, which proved that chemotherapy caused breast cancer cells to multiply, it is mind-boggling that we still spend upwards of $107 billion on cancer each year currently.Despite years of research suggesting that chemo and radiation can cause cancers to metastasize, usually within just six months after treatment, this i...

Bosque Del Mar mural by Zosen & Mina Hamada in Veracruz, Mexico "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Some weeks ago together with the japanese artist Mina Hamada, Zosen had the opportunity to be the first artists to participate in a social project in El Morro Boca del Ro,a suburb of Veracruz, Mexico.

Boca del Ro is a working class neighborhood close to Veracruz in front of the sea where the neighbours are working hard to build their houses. With the support of the neighbours they painted this ultra colorful mural. Since this had a special connection with locals, they told the artists duo about their reality, their problems, their dreams. They shared everydays life, eating picadas or drinking home made limonadas.

During the process of the mural the local government fixed up the street where the cars were running dangerously for the children and installed some lights for the entrance of Boca del Ro hood where our mural is located and where used to be so dark at night.
The artists tried to do their best with this piece and help local neighbours.

3 Reasons Hospital Midwives Might Equal Fewer C-Sections "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

3 Reasons Hospital Midwives May Equal Less C-Sections

Access to modern obstetrical care has no doubt saved countless lives. C-sections can and do save lives. However, when c-sections are performed unnecessarily, they can also pose serious morbidity and mortality risks, which outweigh potential benefits. For this reason, doctors, researchers and public health officials have been researching ways to reduce c-section rates among hospital births. Whats their solution? Hospital based midwifery care. If a c-section is the safest way to get an individual mother and baby safely through birth, then its the best decision for that mother-baby pair. Currently, however, about one in three births in the United States ends in a c-section. Research and evidence from the World Health Organisation (WHO) support a c-section rate of about 10-15%. Potentially, more than half of all c-sections are performed unnecessarily.

3 Reasons Hospital Midwives Might Equal Fewer C-Sections

Time and time again, current research shows midwifery care to be a potential solution to our c-section crisis. Why? Because midwifery-led models provide evidence-based care and knowledge of normal physiological birth, reducing the risk of unnecessary interventions.

How Can Hospital Midwives Reduce C-Section Rates?

Health policy researcher, Laura Attanasio (University of Massachusetts Amherst), and Katy Kozhimannil (University of Minnesota) conducted a hospital level analysis that found the higher the percentage of births attended by midwives, the lower the hospitals c-section rate. They also found there were fewer episiotomies in hospitals where midwives attended more births. Attanasio and Kozhimannil looked at 126 New York hospitals. Of those hospitals:
  • 25% had no midwives
  • Around 50% had midwives, but those midwives attended less than 15% of births
  • 7% of the hospitals had midwives who attended more than four out of every 10 births.
The study, which was published in the current issue of Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, took place in 2014. During that year, just 9% of US births were attended by midwives. This is extremely low when compared with the situation in other developed countries, such as Fra...

David Bowie: The Last Five Years Is Now Airing/Streaming on HBO "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

FYI: David Bowie died two years ago today. And to commemorate the anniversary, HBO has just started airing David Bowie: The Last Five Years, a 90-minute BBC documentary that revisits Bowie's less public final years. If you don't already have HBO, you could always watch the doc by signing up for a free trial for HBO Now (HBO's streaming service). Here's a quick summary/overview of the film:

In the last years of his life, David Bowie ended nearly a decade of silence to engage in an extraordinary burst of activity, producing two groundbreaking albums and a musical. David Bowie: The Last Five Years explores this unexpected end to a remarkable career.

On the 2003-2004 Reality tour, David Bowie had a frightening brush with mortality, suffering a heart attack during what was to be his final full concert. He then disappeared from public view, only re-emerging in the last five years of his life to make some of the most important music of his career. Made with remarkable access, Francis Whatelys documentary is a revelatory follow-up to his acclaimed 2013 documentary David Bowie: Five Years, which chronicled Bowies golden 70s and early-80s period.

While illuminating iconic moments of his extraordinary and prolific career, David Bowie: The Last Five Years focuses on three major projects: the albums The Next Day and the jazz-infused Blackstar (released on Bowies 69th birthday, two days before his death in 2016), and the musical Lazarus, which was inspired by the character he played in the 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth.

Dispelling the simplistic view that his career was simply predicated on change, the film includes revealing interviews with many of Bowies closest creative collaborators, including: Tony Visconti, Bowies long-time producer; musicians who contributed to The Next Day and Blackstar; Jonathan Barnbrook, the graphic designer of both albums; Robert Fox, producer of Lazarus, along with cast members from the show, providing a unique behind-the-scenes look at Bowies creative process; and Johan Renck, director of Bowies final music video, Lazarus, which was widely discussed as foreshadowing his death.

You can watch a trailer for the new film up above.

Bitcoin Gold Price Technical Analysis BTG/USD Holding $220 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Key Points

  • Bitcoin gold price is holding the $210-220 support area and is currently recovering against the US Dollar.
  • There is a short-term ascending channel forming with resistance at $255 on the hourly chart of BTG/USD (data feed from Bitfinex).
  • The pair may slowly move higher, but a close above the $250-260 resistance wont be easy.

Bitcoin gold price is slowly moving higher toward $250 against the US Dollar. BTG/USD must stay above the $210-220 support area to avoid a downside break.

Bitcoin Gold Price Resistance

There was a downside reaction in bitcoin gold price recently toward the $210 support area against the US Dollar. The price traded as low as $210.08 and later started an upside correction. It succeeded in moving back above the $220 level. Moreover, there was a break of the 50% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $273 high to $210 low.

However, the upside move faced sellers near $260. There was no close above the $260 level and the price failed to gain pace. There was also a rejection from the 61.8% Fib retracement level of the last decline from the $273 high to $210 low. Sellers defended the 100 hourly simple moving average near $245 and as a result, there was no upside break. At the moment, it seems like there is a short-term ascending channel forming with resistance at $255 on the hourly chart of BTG/USD. The pair has to move higher above the $255 and $260 levels.

Bitcoin Gold Price Technical Analysis BTG USD

Should there be a close above $260, there can be further gains toward $300. Having said that, a break above the $260 level wont be easy. On the downside, the pair has to stay above $220 to avoid further declines.

Looking at the technical indicators:

Hourly MACD The MACD for BTG/USD is attempting to move into the bullish zone.

Hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) The RSI for BTG/USD is just below the 50 level.

Why Time Seems to Speed Up and How to Slow it Down "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Im six years old, in the car with my parents and brother, travelling back from our annual two week holiday in Conwy, North Wales. Its dark and the journey seems to take forever. I lie in the back seat, watching the orange streetlights and the houses pass by, and wonder if were ever going to get home.

Are we nearly there yet? I ask my father.

Dont be silly, he says. We only set off half an hour ago.

My mum plays the Yes/No game and Twenty questions with us to make the time pass faster. We listen to the radio for a while. Then I fall asleep. When I wake up it seems like Ive been in the car for an eternity and I cant believe were still not home.

Are we nearly there yet? I ask again.

Not far now, says my father.

We play some more games and finally I recognise the streets of our suburb of Manchester. I feel bored and miserable and tell myself that Im never going to spend as long in a car ever again.

A young fellow tied to a tree and set on fire. A woman and an old man shot in the back. Girls lined up against a wall and shot with a submachine gun. The testimonies collected by filmmaker Neta Shoshani about the massacre in Deir Yassin are difficult to process even 70 years after the fact

ed note a few important items to consider here in processing all of this.

1. Substantively, there is NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever between the massacres that took place at Deir Yassin and other locales by the Jews and what their Hebraic ancestors and forefathers are described having done within the pages of the Torah, otherwise known as the Old Testament.

We are forced to point this obvious fact out due to the disturbingly high percentage of analysts/writers/speakers/opinionaters, etc, who maintain the completely unhinged-from-reality position that somehow, both the commandments and examples found in clear, unequivocal, black and white language within the pages of the Torah play no part whatsoever in events such as Deir Yassin (and others) and rather, that the sole explanation for Judaic bloodbaths of this sort are to be found and understood solely within the very limited...

Sixteen-year-old Ahed Tamimi may not be what Israelis had in mind when, over many years, they criticised Palestinians for not producing a Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela.

Eventually, colonised peoples bring to the fore a figure best suited to challenge the rotten values at the core of the society oppressing them. Ahed is well qualified for the task.

She was charged last week with assault and incitement after she slapped two heavily armed Israeli soldiers as they refused to leave the courtyard of her family home in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah. Her mother, Nariman, is in detention for filming the incident. The video quickly went viral.

'An audio recording of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's son is leaked in which Yair can be heard drunkenly bragging about his father's efforts to pass a shady gas deal outside a strip club.

In the audio track aired by Channel 2 News on Monday, Yair Netanyahu tells the son of an Israeli gas tycoon that his father pushed a controversial gas deal in parliament in favor of his father in 2015.

Bro, you got to spot me. My dad made an awesome deal for your dad, bro, he fought, fought in the Knesset for this, bro, said Yair to Ori Maimon, the son of the gas tycoon Kobi Maimon, outside the club. Bro, my dad now arranged for you a $20bn deal and you cant spot me 400 shekels?, added Yari.

Yair can also be heard talking about strippers and how much money he and his friend have spent on them.

In the past, Yair had drawn media criticism over his lifestyle which is financed at the expense of taxpayers.

The recording was leaked at a time when Netanyahu is involved in two separate corruption cases, and investigators have questioned him multiple times.'

Kodak to Create Blockchain-based Image Rights Platform "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

As the crypto-craze continues, canny companies are clamoring to climb aboard the digital train destined for greater profits. Kodak is the latest company to join the crypto club with announcements of its own blockchain platform and digital currency.

Just a day after we read about Russian owned messaging platform Telegram starting its own cryptocurrency another big name joins the fray. Crypto is currently a hot potato and companies are looking for a slice of the pie by getting onboard with the tech that everyone is talking about. The 130-year-old photo company has been looking for a cash injection since its film revival fell flat, and building a blockchain is as good an idea as any.

New York-based Kodak has announced a partnership with Wenn Digital to develop an image rights platform called KodakOne. This will run in tandem with a new photo-centric virtual currency called KodakCoin. The coin will be designed as a payments platform for photographers to get paid instantly and securely via the blockchain when their photos are sold online. Meanwhile, KodakOne will crawl the internet looking for image copyright violations. The concept is to create an encrypted distributed ledger of rights ownership running on the Ethereum platform using smart contracts.

Kodak chief executive Jeff Clarke had this to say;

For many in the tech industry, blockchain and cryptocurrency are hot buzzwords, but for photographers whove long struggled to assert control over their work and how its used, these buzzwords are the keys to solving what felt like an unsolvable problem,

The ICO will be launched on January 31 but only open to accredited investors from a few countries including the US, UK, and Canada. It was a good day for Kodak shareholders as the price tripled in the hours after the announcement. According to NASDAQ Stock in the Eastman Kodak Company surged from around $3 to just under $10 in six hours. Currently Kodak stock is up over 190% proving that affiliation with the worlds hottest tech at the moment is great for company coffers.

Whether the company actually needs this technology and has a clear vision for its future or whether it was just an attempt to cash in on the current trend in cryptocurrency remains to be seen. What is guaranteed though is that more companies will follow in the coming weeks and months; crypto fervor is at an all-time high.

Archaeologists Have Finally Uncovered The Truth Behind The Great Pyramid "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The mysteries of the ancient pyramids of Giza have had people baffled for thousands of years. However, researchers might have just found some answers.

The ancient pyramids of Giza are said to have been built approximately between the years 2630-2611 BC. It is one of the first major constructions of humanity that has confused researchers and architectures for thousands of years. The mystery is what were they built for, and more specifically: How did they do it?

Well, the only way of figuring it out would be in the past, and that was thousands of years ago. However, due to paleontology advancements researchers have been able to excavate and discover many different items from Egyptian culture. Using what we have found, they were able to decode the past and analyze their culture. We know a lot about the ancient Egyptian culture today, but the Pyramids remain a mystery Until now.

The Museum of Cairo has revealed an ancient text that was discovered in the red sea in 2013. There are a number of details described regarding the construction of the Great Pyramids of Giza. It even told how the ancient wonder was built in honor for one of the most well-known pharaohs, Khufu. The text is 4,500 years old and is written in hieroglyphics on a piece of papyri. It is the oldest document ever discovered in Egypt. The document revealed that is was a diary that belonged to an inspector by the name of Mere. He was in charge of a team of about 200 men, according to archaeologists Pierre tallet and Gregory Marouard in the Journal Near Eastern Archaeology.

The scripture revealed new evidence of thousands of laborers who transported 170,000 tons of limestone along the River Nile with boats built from planks and ropes....

Is Fruit Good For You? You Might Be Surprised [VIDEO]

I dont know about you, but I grew up surrounded by the message that eating meat and veg was the key to health, with fruit as a treat. I fondly remember once a week we'd have fruit nights after dinner oranges featured heavily! But somewhere along the way, the meat and vegetable message has evolved into fruit and veg. Despite studies showing that weve increased our intake of fruit and veg, it hasnt solved any of our health problems; in fact, theyre increasing. So is fruit good for you? You might be surprised at the answer.

Is Fruit Good For You?

Doctor Gary Fettke is an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Launceston, Australia. After having to amputate the limbs of many of his diabetic patients, he became passionate about good nutrition. Realising his patients diets were a big part of the problem, Doctor Fettke decided to speak up about the benefits of low carbohydrate eating. In an educational and thought provoking presentation for Low Carb Down Under (featured at the end of this article), Doctor Gary Fettke states: Were getting fatter and sicker because of what we eat.... Obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia, cancer... are crippling us as a society. The enemy in our battle is what we eat, not what we do or dont do. So, what is the enemy, exactly? Doctor Fettke believes the enemy is processed food. And enemy number one is sugar. The recommended daily servings of fruit is one of the greatest marketing campaigns of the last decade. But Doctor Fettke doesnt believe fruit is nearly as good for us as weve been led to believe, and heres why.

Fruit: A Processed Food?

Today, we have access to most of our favourite fruits all year round. In your local city, even though fruit trees might be bare during the winter, supermarkets are stocked with a huge range of fruits. The problem is, fruit was designed for scheduled obesity. You might know this concept as fattening up for the winter. If you observe fruit trees in your own backyard, you might notice that just before youre about to pick the fruit...

Ripple Price Technical Analysis XRP/USD Extends Decline "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Key Highlights

  • Ripple price remained under a bearish pressure and it traded below the $2.00 level against the US Dollar.
  • Yesterdays highlighted major bearish trend line with current resistance at $2.25 is intact on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair (data source from Kraken).
  • The price may extend its decline and it could even trade towards the $1.70 level.

Ripple price is struggling to recover against the US Dollar and Bitcoin. XRP/USD might continue to decline and is currently well below $2.00.

Ripple Price Upside Hurdle

Yesterday, we saw the start of a new downside wave in Ripple price from well above $2.80 against the US Dollar. The price recovered once above the $2.20 level. However, the upside move was capped by the $2.50 level. Moreover, the 61.8% Fib retracement level of the last drop from the $2.82 high to $1.60 low also acted as a hurdle. A new downside wave was initiated and the price moved below the $2.20 level.

There was also break below the 50% Fib retracement level of the last wave from the $1.60 low to $2.58 high. At the moment, the price is below $2.00 and the 100 hourly simple moving average. It seems like the price may extend declines and it could even test the $1.70 level in the short term. On the upside, an initial resistance is at $2.10. Moreover, yesterdays highlighted major bearish trend line with current resistance at $2.25 is intact on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair.

Ripple Price Technical Analysis XRP USD

On the downside, an initial support is at $1.85. Moreover, the 76.4% Fib retracement level of the last wave from the $1.60 low to $2.58 high is also around $1.85. Therefore, the $1.85 level may act as a support, but the main support is at $1.70.

Looking at the technical indicators:

Hourly MACD The MACD for XRP/USD is gaining momentum in the bearish zone.

Hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) The RSI for XRP/USD is well below the 40 level.

Jaime Cochran lived "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Celebrated hacker and satirist Jaime Cochran made the world a better place

This afternoon we learned our beloved best friend, Jaime Cochran, passed away at her home in Oakland, California.

The headline of this story, and the words in the body do not make sense on the screen. We are grieving her loss with everyone right now. We have proven nothing we write here matters, so we do not pretend like these words do. Nor do they help. Theres nothing we can say that will make the pain of this loss go away, and anyone who knows Jaime understands anything short of a novel simply doesnt do justice to the life she lived. If youre reading this, Jaime probably affected you the way she did so many others who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jaime did whatever the hell she wanted to do, she was good at what she did, and she became successful doing it. She did her own thing, and it worked. She is a legend. People idolized her.

She was a genius, and working with her here was a gift from the Internet.

Jaime came into Internet Chronicle when we were still relatively new, when the .su domain was maybe only a couple years old. She instantly identified with us, understood what we were doing, and ran with her ideas, taking the website to new places and making everybody laugh very hard. Most people laughed.

Jaime loved trolling and messing with peoples minds, but then her work was filled with positive, joking messages that were funny to read. She took the medium and made it her own, and brought it to you all, and the quality of her work made us better just by association. This place is still a shithole, but I honestly cant imagine what it would have been without her.

She is the funniest person I know, and we were privileged to have befriended her, and we enjoyed her friendship from the very beginning. Jaime was one of us.

When we met Jaime, we were going after dirty people, corrupt leaders and hypocrites on this website. [Weve stopped doing that now, and we mainly just talk about sports.] We went after hate together with the very animosity and hatred of the targets we ridiculed. She was like us in the way she thought that was a fun thing to do on a Saturday night.

Anyway, thats how she named me hatesec.

I asked her what are we doing here? I said, We have lulzsec, antisec and prosec. What are we?

She said, youre hatesec

I changed my pen-name on the spot and, until today, I never looked back.

The Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown Continues Unabated "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Recent reporting of a huge radiation measurement at Unit 2 in the Fukushima Daichi reactor complex does not signify that there is a peak in radiation in the reactor building.

All that it indicates is that, for the first time, the Japanese have been able to measure the intense radiation given off by the molten fuel, as each previous attempt has led to failure because the radiation is so intense the robotic parts were functionally destroyed.

The radiation measurement was 530 sieverts, or 53,000 rems (Roentgen Equivalent for Man). The dose at which half an exposed population would die is 250 to 500 rems, so this is a massive measurement. It is quite likely had the robot been able to penetrate deeper into the inner cavern containing the molten corium, the measurement would have been much greater.

These facts illustrate why it will be almost impossible to decommission units 1, 2 and 3 as no human could ever be exposed to such extreme radiation. This fact means that Fukushima Daichi will remain a diabolical blot upon Japan and the world for the rest of time, sitting as it does on active earthquake zones.

Give Up Soda "IndyWatch Feed Health"

By Dr. Mercola

One of the most straightforward steps you can take to improve your health in the New Year is to give up soda, and with that Im talking about both regular and diet varieties. The problem with soda stems from its high sugar content particularly the liquid high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) variety and, in the case of diet, its artificial sweetener content, among other issues.

Research suggests sugary beverages are to blame for about 183,000 deaths worldwide each year, including 133,000 diabetes deaths, 44,000 heart disease deaths and 6,000 cancer deaths.1 Even drinking one or more 250 ml (about 8 ounce) servings of soda per day raises your risk of Type 2 diabetes by 18 percent.2 Soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) are a leading source of added sugar in the U.S. diet, with 6 in 10 youth and 5 in 10 adults drinking at least one such beverage on any given day.3

Even the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states, Frequently drinking sugar-sweetened beverages is associated with weight gain/obesity, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, kidney diseases, nonalcoholic liver disease, tooth decay and cavities, and gout, a type of arthritis.4

However, the CDC only suggests that limiting the amount of SSB intake can help individuals maintain a healthy weight and have a healthy diet, stopping far short of advising Americans to ditch these unhealthy drinks to avoid chronic disease.

This isnt entirely surprising, considering CDC director Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald received $1 million in funding from Coca-Cola5 to combat childhood obesity during her six-year stint as commissioner of Georgias public health department and has a history of promoting the soda industrys alternative facts. Her Coke-funded anti-obesity campaign focused on exercise. None of the recommendations involved cutting down on soda and junk food, yet res...

Can Mouthwash Give You Diabetes and Increase Blood Pressure? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

By Dr. Mercola

Halitosis, or bad breath, is bothersome and embarrassing. It affects nearly 50 percent of the general population1 and may originate either from your mouth or a non-oral source. Mouthwash has become the treatment option many turn to in order to relieve their symptoms.

Interestingly, early historical documents show the Romans would import bottled Portuguese urine to kill oral bacteria.2 The practice was so common that Nero placed a tax on the import. Urine remained a primary ingredient in mouthwash until the 18th century. In the 19th century alcohol replaced urine to kill germs.

Listerine first hit the market in the 1880s when it was used to clean feet and floors, as a surgical antiseptic and as a treatment for gonorrhea.3 The product was also marketed to dentists to kill oral bacteria. But it wasn't until the 1920s that the owner of the company began marketing the product for halitosis, framing it as a health condition that would keep you from being the best that you could be.

Although the campaign was highly successful, the company continued to market Listerine as a toothpaste, deodorant and a cure for dandruff. In other words, it was alcohol in a bottle said to cure a variety of common ailments. Today, in addition to alcohol, mouthwash products may also contain potassium sorbate, polymer 407, propylene glycol4 and caramel.5

A recent study, published in the journal Nitric Oxide, revealed the combination of these chemicals in your mouthwash may increase your risk of developing prediabetes or diabetes.6 This may be mediated by impairing the ability of oral bacteria to reduce nitrate to nitrite, thus impacting your systemic health.

Probiotic Could Reduce Colic Crying, Research Says "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Probiotic Could Lessen Colic Crying, Research Says

Colic the type of crying every new parent fears. If youve been around a colicky baby, or had a colicky baby yourself, you know just how stressful those newborn colic cries can be. Were wired to answer and soothe our babys cries and when were unable to settle them, we can feel incredibly defeated. And after defeat come stress, fatigue, and desperation. British social anthropologist, Sheila Kitzinger, who studied pregnancy and childbirth, writes: The sound of a crying baby . . . is just about the most disturbing, demanding, shattering noise we can hear. The United States military has reportedly used the sound of wailing infants as an instrument of psychological stress, piping recordings into detainees cells at Guantnamo Bay.

Probiotic Could Reduce Colic Crying, Research Says

Colic is difficult. It often leads to doctors appointments that produce few answers, beyond You just need to cope and wait it out. We might be offered coping techniques, but not much else. New research suggests a promising solution to reducing infant colic: a probiotic. Researchers found Lactobacillus reuteri reduced the length and frequency of colic cries in exclusively breastfed infants.

What Is Colic?

Colic is often used as a catch-all term for excessive crying in an otherwise healthy baby. From the health professional's perspective, however, colic has a few specific characteristics. BellyBelly's lactation consultant, Renee Kam, IBCLC, says: If you have a baby who is under the age of about three months and has episodes where he:
  • Cries a lot
  • Doesnt settle easily to sleep (if at all)
  • Cluster feeds
  • Appears very windy or gassy
  • Goes red in the face
  • Makes facial grimaces
  • Brings his knees up to his chest
  • Arches his back
then it's likely your baby has colic. Colic tends to begin around the late afternoon or early evening and can last for a few hours or more. Be sure to read...

LUMENS SELLERS PUSHING PRICES LOWER AS BUYERS SET TRIGGERS AT $0.7 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

If you were expecting fireworks this week, then you must be disappointed more so if youre a Lumens trader. From the chart, it looks like Lumens sellers are on the driving seat preventing prices from recovering.

But, that is not the only suppressed pair. We can read the same script in NEM, IOTA, XMR and LTC even after yesterdays encouraging double bar reversal pattern at key Fibonacci levels across the board.

Our previous buy triggers are still intact but lets wait and see what today brings.

Lets have a look at other alt coin charts

24 hours later and NEM prices remain flat and boring! Yes boring especially if you have been waiting patiently waiting for prices to dip if buyers are not willing to push prices higher.

That is often the test of traders. Patience! But will it disappoint buyers? That also depends but the 50% Fibonacci retracement at $1.46 is where Im watching while not forgetting the main support line at $1.36.

Any close below these two levels and we may as well forget about longs. On the flip side, if NEM buyers trigger our limits and convincingly close above $1.62, this week might end up as bullish and confirm the general trend.

ORI VSD Investigation Request "IndyWatch Feed Health"

In 2004 SafeMinds (Sensible Action For Ending Mercury Induced Neurological Disorders) reviewed the above referenced article and voiced concerns regarding data analysis and related conclusions put forth in this investigation in a letter to the editor of the journal Pediatrics and to the Post Publication Peer Review (P3R) website. At that time we called for an external audit of the research ethics and supervisory protocols involved in preparing sequential versions of the Vaccine Safety Database (VSD) for public review and ultimate publication. (Exhibit # 1) We did not receive a response to our request. Since this time additional concerns have come to light which call into question the studies conclusion of no consistent significant associations between thimerosal containing vaccines (TCVs) and neurodevelopmental outcomes.

1999 EIS Conference Abstract Presentation, Verstraeten et. al. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Increased risk of developmental neurologic impairment after high exposure to thimerosal-containing vaccine in first month of life. Background: Concern has risen on the presence of the ethylmercury containing preservative thimerosal in vaccines. We assessed the risk for neurologic and renal impairment associated with past exposure to thimerosal-containing vaccine using automated data from the Vaccine Safety Datal ink (VSD). VSD is a large linked database from four health maintenance organizations in Washington, Oregon and California, containing immunization, medical visit and demographic data on over 400,000 infants born between 91 and 97. Methods: We categorized the cumulative ethylmercury exposure from thimerosal containing vaccines after one month of life and assessed the subsequent risk of degenerative and developmental neurologic disorders and renal disorders before the age of six.

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Thimerosal Exposure in Pediatric Vaccines "IndyWatch Feed Health"

The conferees urge NIEHS to work with CDC and expert independent researchers on research that could identify or rule out any association between thimerosal exposure in pediatric vaccines and increased rates of autism. The conferees believe that the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD), a CDC-constructed database that follows 7 million immunized children from 1990 to present, could be helpful in the research, especially regarding pre-2001 VSD data and post-2000 VSD data, since thimerosal was removed from most childhood vaccines in 2001. The conferees urge NIEHS and CDC to organize a workshop by May 2006 to explore the research possibilities and scientific feasibility of such a study and report back to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees soon after. Daguerreotypes of the California Gold Rush "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

C. 1860 portrait of an unidentified pair of prospectors by an unknown photographer (collection of the Canadian Photography Institute. NGC, Ottawa)

Gold! Gold from the American River! So cried the carpenter James W. Marshall on January 24, 1848, as the story goes, when he found flakes of the precious metal at Coloma, California, thus ushering into the region a wave of steely-eyed prospectors. As word of the California Gold Rush spread around the world, photographers, too, arrived, and themselves struck metaphorical gold. They set up studios in wagons and captured the historic frenzy around them, making the Gold Rush the first major event in the country to be documented extensively through the then-new medium.

Recent Study Proves That Ibuprofen is Directly Linked to Male Infertility "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis for 01/10/2018 Small Reversal Signal "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin Price Key Highlights

  • Bitcoin price appears ready for another selloff as price has formed a head and shoulders pattern on the 1-hour chart.
  • Price has yet to break below the neckline around the $14,000 major psychological support.
  • The chart pattern is approximately $3,000 tall so the resulting drop could be of the same height.

Bitcoin price is forming yet another selloff signal on a short-term time frame, but technical indicators are looking mixed.

Technical Indicators Signals

The 100 SMA is still above the longer-term 200 SMA on this time frame to suggest that the path of least resistance is to the upside or that the rally could continue. However, the gap between the moving averages has narrowed significantly to show that a downward crossover and and pickup in bearish momentum is imminent.

A break below the neckline could take bitcoin price down to the $10,000-11,000 region next while a bounce could lead to a move up to $15,000 then the highs at $17,000.

Stochastic is pulling up from the oversold region to signal a return in buying momentum while RSI also appears to be slowly heading north as well.

Market Factors

Dollar demand has once again ticked higher on record high Treasury yields, as well as record closes for equity indices. Traders are now looking ahead to a positive earnings season scheduled to start on Friday, and these upbeat expectations are likely to be sustained as tax reform kicks in.

Meanwhile, bitcoin price continues to reel from the hesitation among ETFs facing SEC regulation. A couple of funds withdrew their applications, citing pushback from the financial watchdog. Direxion Shares ETF Trust secretary Angela Brickl wrote:

On a call with the Staff on January 5, 2018, the Staff expressed concerns regarding the liquidity and valuation of the underlying instruments in which the Fund intends to primarily invest and requested that the Trust withdraw the Amendment until such time as these concerns are resolved. In response to the Staffs request, the Trust respectfully requests withdrawal of the Amendment.

10 Signs You Are Dating Someone that Is Too Selfish for a Relationship "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

When you are in a relationship with someone who goes out of their way to ruin your day, you need to get out. You deserve so much more than that.

While we can all be a bit selfish from time to time when you are in a relationship you have to be a little more selfless. If your significant other is doing the following things he or she does not truly care about you. They only want you in their life for the convenience and as I mentioned above, YOU DESERVE BETTER!

10 Signs Your Significant Other is Far Too Selfish For The Relationship to Flourish:

1. They are far more stubborn than anyone else.

They are all about taking and not about giving at all. When it comes to doing things for you they are very stuck in their ways. You give and they only take.

2. They are only sweet when they want something.

They are nice when they want something and rude most of the time. When it comes to convincing you to do something, you dont want to do they always try to pull out the charm. Nothing keeps them from getting what they want.

3. They refuse to open up.

They are always closed off and refuse to let you in. You never see the vulnerable sides of them that they should be sharing. That being said, they also avoid you when you are down in the dumps.

4. They refuse to commit.

They either refuse to give you a label or they refuse to actually be faithful to you. This is damning for the relationship and should be seen as a HUGE red flag. Why would you be with someone who wont give you the relationship you deserve?

5. They never cancel plans even when you really need them.

They are always making you cancel your plans but refuse to budge with theirs. You are always bending to their will and when they actually have to change plans they make you feel bad about it. It is like when they need you, you are there but when you need them they are never there.

6. They do not compromise.

They do not budge. When you are in an argument either you give up or nothing gets resolves. As I said above you are always giving and this person is always taking.

7. They are always making excuses.

They never own up to their mistakes. You can call them out and they will still come up with some sly excuse. Nothing is ever their fault.

8. They act as if you...

Bitcoin Cash Price Technical Analysis BCH/USD Range Extension "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Key Points

  • Bitcoin cash price continues to trade in a range above the $2280 support against the US Dollar.
  • Yesterdays highlighted connecting bearish trend line with current resistance at $2430 is intact on the hourly chart of BCH/USD (data feed from Kraken).
  • The pair has to close above the $2450-60 resistance levels to move back in the bullish zone.

Bitcoin cash price is trading in a range above $2280 against the US Dollar. BCH/USD could gain traction in the near term, but it has to break $2460.

Bitcoin Cash Price Support

There was a start to a new a short-term consolidation phase in bitcoin cash price above $2200 area against the US Dollar. The price was seen moving higher a few points toward the $2400 level, but it struggled to gain momentum. It seems like the 38.2% Fib retracement level of the last drop from the $2730 high to $2250 low prevented gains and an upside break.

More importantly, yesterdays highlighted connecting bearish trend line with current resistance at $2430 is intact on the hourly chart of BCH/USD. The pair was seen continuously offered around the $2450 resistance and the 100 hourly simple moving average. There was also a spike towards the 50% Fib retracement level of the last drop from the $2730 high to $2250 low. However, there was no upside break and close above the $2450-60 resistance levels.

Bitcoin Cash Price Technical Analysis BCH USD

The pair has to move above the mentioned $2450-60 resistance area to gain traction. Once BCH moves back in the bullish zone above $2460, it could attempt a run towards the $2700 level. On the downside, the most important range support is around $2260-80, which must hold to contain losses.

Looking at the technical indicators:

Hourly MACD The MACD for BCH/USD is struggling to move back in the bullish zone.

Hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) The RSI for BCH/USD is currently well below the 50 level.

Major Support Level $2280

We Exposed Facebooks Plot to Decrease Organic Reach but Only 13 People Saw It "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

We did it! We exposed Facebooks plan to decrease organic reach in small amounts over the course of a few years with the goal of bringing organic reach to zero, leaving entertainers, journalists, and artists forced to pay Facebook to boost their posts as the only way to reach the fan bases theyve spent years compiling via social media. Theres just one problem: only 13 people saw it.

Oh fuck.

Look, were not really sure how to pull this one off. At The Hard Times, we have broken scandals and exposed secrets about the epidemic of bassists being left in hot cars (http://thehardtimes.net/music/irresponsible-musicians-leave-bassist-hot-van), the harmful effects of vaccines on music taste (http://thehardtimes.net/news/punk-parents-blame-childs-terrible-taste-music-vaccinations), the secrets of true allyship (http://thehardtimes.net/hardstyle/how-a-diy-asymmetrical-haircut-eliminate-my-white-privilege), and even the one time we made a simple report on stage locations and inadvertantly touched on an entirely different scandal (http://thehardtimes.net/news/all-warped-tour-stages-moved-100-feet-from-audience-to-comply-with-sex-offender-laws)

Needless to say, revealing how Facebook is stifling content creators who successfully adapted to the digital ecosystem and spread quality entertainment across the internet solely through word of mouth, by only surfacing content from those with enough money to pay for exposure was something we were very excited about. And we hope all 13 people who saw it learned something.

Related: I Unfriended Everyone I Hate and Now Facebook Sucks

Gatekeepers, like corporate radio stations and record and TV executives, ruined entertainment and journalism for decades until they were taken down by the internet and its ability to allow for word of mouth to spread quality information and entertainment. However, these gatekeepers appear to be replaced by social media giants hellbent on making money and also giving your grandmother a platform to embarass you.

So we tracked data related to our Facebook posts and released it to a quarter of a million subscribers. Sad to say only 13 of them saw it.

1977 Article on the New World Order: Architects of Conspiracy "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

New World Order, by William P. Hoar

Excerpt from the book Architects of Conspiracy: An Intriguing History (pp. 314-324)

When in the course of history the threat of extinction confronts mankind, it is necessary for the people of the United States to declare their interdependence with the peoples of all nations to embrace those principles and build those institutions which will enable mankind to survive and civilization to flourish. Two centuries ago our forefathers brought forth a new nation; now we must join together with others to bring forth a new world order.

That abominable parody of the U.S. Declaration of Independence was prepared by historian Henry Steele Commager as part of a so-called Declaration of INTERdependence, a project of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.

Shamefully, this altered Declaration was signed by more than one hundred members of Congress on the two hundredth anniversary of the proclamation of American independence.

BREAKING: Lana Del Rey Ordered to Pay What You Want in Radiohead Lawsuit "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

LOS ANGELES A federal judge ordered earlier this evening that musician Lana Del Rey pay what she wish to settle a recent lawsuit allegedly pursued by UK artists Radiohead.

While my client insists that Ms. Del Rey have the option to pay as much or as little as she chooses, I would like to remind her that many big-name bands like Radiohead rely on these digital tips to support their families, said Radioheads lawyer, Tom Terzi.

The suit, which claimed that elements of Del Reys song Get Free was inspired by Radioheads 1992 single Creep, will be the first of its kind to be settled following a pay what you want model.

Radiohead is one of the biggest bands making music today, and if the biggest band isnt willing to properly sue someone else for copyright infringement, then what the hell are the rest of us supposed to do? Small claims? Id rather spend a Saturday at the DM-fucking-V, said aspiring bassist, Dyin Ryan Baker, of Fresno.

Stephen Bannon Resigns From Breitbart News "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Steve Bannon is stepping down from his role as executive chairman at Breitbart News following a backlash for comments he made about President Trumps campaign.

Breitbart News confirmed the resignation Tuesday.

Bannons exit comes just days after the release of an explosive new book in which Bannon is quoted as having questioned President Trumps mental health.

RT reports: Bannon, former White House chief strategist under President Donald Trump, had recently come under fire from defenders of the president for comments made in a salacious tell-all book released this month.

In the book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, Bannon is quoted by author Michael Wolff as calling a 2016 meeting at Trump Tower between a Russian lawyer and Trumps son and son-in-law treasonous.

Bannon has since apologized and walked back that statement, but not before Trump disavowed his former top adviser.

Last week, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked by the Wall Street Journal if Breitbart should distance itself from Bannon based on his quoted statements.

I certainly think that its something that they should look at and consider, she answered.

Breitbart CEO Larry Solov called Bannon, who had been executive chair since 2012, a valued part of our legacy on Tuesday.

We will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish, he added.

Smartphones And Teen Suicide 5 Things Parents Need To Know "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Smartphones And Teen Suicide 5 Things Parents Need To Know

Theres no doubt society is facing a suicide epidemic among teens. It isnt uncommon to log on to your social media accounts and see yet another tragic story of a teen falling victim to suicide. Suicide is so pervasive in our culture, it even features in literary works and TV shows. Curious teens, worried parents and concerned educators have read and watched 13 Reasons, a book turned into a Netflix series. It created quite a controversy last year, as viewers and professionals debated whether it romanticised teen suicide or sparked a necessary conversation on the subject. Either way, it turned the spotlight on teen suicide a problem many of us were already aware of. But whats behind teen suicide? Why have we seen an increase in recent years?

Smartphones And Teen Suicide 5 Things Parents Need To Know

New research shows the increase in teen suicide, since 2012, could be related to an increase in smartphone and social media use. Any parent of a preteen would find it difficult, and unpleasant, to read articles about teens and suicide. Our kids are beginning to morph into young people, who are affected by hormones and stress, and trying to navigate a big and intimidating world. Its scary to think about what this can mean. When we are constantly bombarded by media messages, it can be hard to distinguish between real, evidence-based information and concerns, and clickbait items. Sometimes, it isnt a case of something being of more massive concern than it was decades ago, its simply that its more visible in the media. With regard to teen suicide, the concerns are legitimate. There is a fairly high rate of depression and anxiety among teens; this can lead to suicide. Its important to note, although suicide is on the rise, current rates arent the highest weve seen. Teen suicide peaked in the early 1990s. Nevertheless, any suicide is problematic. And any rise in frequency calls for awareness, research and prevention. As parents, we can use the information to help reduce our childrens risk of experiencing anxiety and depression, or help them ac...

The 10 Most Important Things We Can Do for the People We Love "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

by Lori Deschene; tiny buddha

People. Life is all about people.

We dont have to have a ton of relationships, but we all need people in our lives who get us. Whove seen our freak flag countless times and love when it comes out.

People who tag us on memes that capture our spirit, or Tasty videos they know wed drool over. People who text us with random pictures of bumper stickers or book covers or bath mats or beard accessories with a note that reads Saw this and thought of you.

We all need these kind of close connections to feel a sense of security and belonging in the world.

We need people who think of us, look out for us, accept us, bring out the best in us, and challenge us to be the best us we can possibly be. And we need to be that person for them.

It could be the family you were born into, the one that you chose, or the one that chose you after plowing down the big wall you erected to keep yourself safe.

Whoever makes up your tribe, and regardless of its size, these are the kinds of relationships that make everything else seem manageable.

Whether youre having a hard day or a hard month or a hard year, a call or a hug from the right person can remind you that life really is worth living. And when things are going well, its all the more enjoyable for having people you love to share it with.

DEVELOPING: Hospitals scrambling to treat flu as IV bag shortages reported "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

DEVELOPING: Hospitals scrambling to treat flu as IV bag shortages reported

An ongoing shortage of fluids used to deliver medicine and treat dehydrated patients has hospital workers scrambling in the midst of a nasty flu season and supplies from factories in storm-ravaged Puerto Rico have been slow to rebound. Supplies of saline and nutrient solutions were already tight before hurricanes pounded Puerto Rico and cut power to manufacturing plants that make much of the U.S. supply of fluid-filled bags used to deliver sterile solutions to patients.

Flu season has turned out to be a bad one and it came early, bringing patients in need of fluids into hospitals already running low. Hospital officials, pharmacists and other staff have been devising alternatives and workarounds, training doctors and nurses on new procedures and options, and hitting the phones to try to secure fluids from secondary suppliers. Scientists Have Finally Found the Root Cause of Autism "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Sure, we have heard tons and tons of different things about what may or may not be causing autism, but this new study seems to have a good idea. Could our brain connections be to blame?

This study comes from researchers from Washington University and was published in the journal Nature Communications. It links a defective gene to autism and how it influences the way that neurons connect and communicate with one another in the brain. These researchers found that rodents who lack this gene form too many connections between brain neurons and struggle with learning.

Senior author Azad Bonni, the Edison Professor of Neuroscience and head of the Department of Neuroscience at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis said in a statement:

This study raises the possibility that there may be too many synapses in the brains of patients with autism.

You might think that having more synapses would make the brain work better, but that doesnt seem to be the case. An increased number of synapses creates miscommunication among neurons in the developing brain that correlates with impairments in learning, although we dont know how.

Patients with autism may be carrying a gene mutation that prevents one of their ubiquitin genes from working as it should. Ubiquitin ligases function like a working order and tell the rest of the cell what to do with the tagged proteins. To understand the role of these genes in brain development this team removed the gene from young mice.

In the mice that this gene had been removed from learning was an issue especially with motor skills. They were able to walk and appear coordinated until it came time to put them to the test. While more research still needs to be done this is a very interesting find.

Bonni also said as follows:

Its possible that excessive connections between neurons contribute to autism.

More work needs to be done to verify this hypothesis in people, but if that turns out to be true, then you can start looking at ways of controlling the number of synapses. It could potentially benefit not just the people who have these rare mutations in ubiquitin genes but other patients with autism.

What do you think about all of this? I for one am excited to see what comes of this. This is not something unheard of, even in 2014, children with autism were found to have ext...

The Key Arguments That There IS Life After Death

Commentator and radio host Dennis Prager believes wholeheartedly that theres an afterlife and he recently broke down all of the key arguments for heavens existence.  If there is a God, there is an afterlife, Prager said in a recent episode of Prager U. Its that simple: He argued that a good and just

God would create an afterlife to compensate for the unjust suffering that rages in our world. In fact, Prager concluded that God would be cruel if he didnt create such a respite. The physical world is not the only reality, Prager continued. There is also a non-physical reality. My belief in God and the afterlife keeps me sane. Watch Pragers full argument below: MORE

Over 100 Christians March to Protest Red Lucifer Statue in Greece

Over 100 Christian residents led by their priest in Athens marched to the site of a controversial sculpture, which many thinks depicts Lucifer, and demanded its removal. The protesters held Greek flags, icons and sang hymns where the sculpture Phylax stands, according to Greek Reporter. The sculpture, an image of a red naked man with wings, made by artist Kostis Georgiou, was installed near the Palaio

Faliro marina in Trokadero, south of Athens, last month, according to Neos Kosmos. The priest sprinkled holy water on the statue to exorcise its demons. The statue has suffered two vandalism attacks since its installation on Dec. 5. What may have caused concerns among the Christians is that the Palaio Faliro Municipality named the statue guardian-angel of the South Athens suburb. READ MORE

5 Breakthroughs Fasting Can Unleash in Your Life "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

5 Breakthroughs Fasting Can Unleash in Your Life

(By Keith Nix) Why fast? Is it required? Is it beneficial? Is it an antiquated practice that is no longer valid for Christians? Many today believe that fasting is a religious work of the flesh that only speaks of bondage since Jesus finished the work at Calvary. Some do indeed approach fasting with legalistic religious vigor and place their confidence in their discipline rather than in the power of God. Others view fasting as a valuable tool in weight reduction but of no significant spiritual value. What does the Bible say?

The Preacher in Ecclesiastes wrote, A threefold cord is not quickly broken (4:12c). Jesus gave His disciples (I hope that includes you) the formula of a threefold cord for our lives. Matthew records where Jesus said, When you give when you pray when you fast Matt. 6:2,5,12 NLT). Notice that Jesus didnt make these three acts optional for a believer. His instruction wasnt if, but when. So, giving, praying and fasting for the believer is not optional. Neither does God treat them like extra credit. They are core elements of the Christian life. There is an assumption that disciples will have periods of fasting in their journey of following Christ. In fact, when you look at the New Testament believers, it is easy to see that fasting is a standard practice. MORE

Three Reasons the US is Not Mystery Babylon "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Three Reasons the US is Not Mystery Babylon

(By Kelly Mcdonald Jr) In recent years, I have seen an increase in the number of online articles claiming that the United States of America (henceforth US) is the woman of Revelation 17, named Mystery Babylon. Are these claims warranted? Is there proof?  We must remember that Scripture is our final authority for Biblical interpretation. Lets look at three reasons why it is not possible for the US to be Mystery Babylon.

#1 Mystery Babylon is described as a city.

And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth (Rev 17:18, KJV).

The woman of Revelation 17 is called a great city that reigns over the kings of the earth. The US is a country, not a city. Additionally, it does not reign over the kings of the earth. Sovereign nations around the world make decisions on a daily basis without consulting the US. Just recently, 128 countries voted against the US measure to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

#2 Mystery Babylon is responsible for killing Gods people.

And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth (Rev 18:24).

The US has historically been a haven for those fleeing religious persecution. Among the first settlers of this country were the pilgrims, who were fleeing persecution in Europe. There has never been a top-down government persecution of Christians. The US has been a haven for Christians and a launching pad for the gospel into the rest of the world.

#3 The United States does not have kings.

And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space (Rev 17:10).

The woman of...

DEVELOPING: Deadly Floods Strike California Leaving At Least 13 Dead

At least 13 people have died in weather-related incidents in Santa Barbara County, authorities said Tuesday, as the Southlands first major winter storm triggered flooding and mudflows that forced the closure of the 101 Freeway in the Thomas Fire burn area. The fatality figure could increase as at least two dozen people were considered still missing as search-and-rescue efforts continued.

While we hope it will not, we expect that this number will increase as we continue to look for people who are still missing and unaccounted for, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said. Details of the circumstances were not immediately disclosed. In addition to the fatalities, 25 people were reported to be injured. Powerful mudslides destroyed homes in the area as rescue crews rushed to search the rubble. The mud was reported to be 5 feet deep in places. FULL REPORT

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and The New World Order "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

For those who may be confused by the controversies surrounding the New World Order, a One-World-Government, and American concern over giving the UN more power; those unaware of the issues involved; and those wishing more background, I offer the following.

Originally presented for an Honors Class, Dilemmas of War and Peace, at New Mexico State University, the paper was ridiculed and characterized by Dr. Yosef Lapid, (an acknowledged and locally quoted expert on Terrorism and Middle Eastern affairs) as paranoid possibly a symptom of mental illness. You may judge for yourself.

Citing source data is the scientific method, but does not seem to apply to Conspiracy Theories. A thousand sources may be quoted, yet will not convince the skeptics, the realists.

It seems to me the symptoms of mental illness are on their side, if they refuse to look at evidence (There are none so blind as those who WILL not see); or perhaps something more sinister is at work, such as a knowledge of the truth, that does not want YOU to know.

Aliner Pop-up Campers "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

In the early 1970s, Ralph Tait had an idea. So he went into his garage in Bend, Oregon and began tinkering. Several weeks and a few blisters later, he emerged with a revolutionary design for the first A-frame pop-up camper.

It was sensible. It was different. And it was light enough to be towed with just about any vehicle. Friends wanted one. Family wanted one. Friends of family wanted one. As word of mouth spread, Ralph found himself making more campers out of his garage. Thats when Ralphs sons had their own bright idea. Why not turn this hobby into a real business?

The family moved to Pennsylvania and began making Aliner campers. Two brothers would build one. The third brother would hitch it to the family station wagon and drive across the country until he sold it. When he returned, the brothers would have another Aliner waiting. After years of hard work and several hundred thousand miles on the poor station wagon, the family retired in 2007. Today we continue to build every Aliner with the same quality, craftsmanship and pride as Ralph and his sons did for over 30 years.

Gethsemane Brown, African-American classical musician and expatriate to an Irish village, solved a string of murders, led a school orchestra to victory in a major competition, and got used to living with a snarky ghost.  She can rest easy over the Christmas holiday.  Right?  Wrong.  The ghost has disappeared, her landlord's about to sell her cottage to a hotel developer, and her brother-in-law is coming for a visit - with one day's notice.  She scrambles to call her spectral roomie back from beyond and find a way to save the cottage from certain destruction.  But real estate takes a backseat when her brother-in-law is accused of stealing a valuable antique.  Gethsemane strikes a deal with a garda investigator to go undercover as a musician at a charity ball and snoop for evidence linking antiques to a forgery/theft ring in exchange for the investigator's help clearing her brother-in-law.  At the party, she accidentally conjures the ghost of an eighteenth-century sea captain, then ends up the prime suspect in the party host's murder.  With the captain's help, she races to untangle a web of phony art and stolen antiques to exonerate herself and her brother-in-law.  Then the killer targets her.  Will she save herself and bring a thief and murderer to justice, or will her encore investigation become her swan song?

Gethsemane Brown is a music teacher in Ireland, a fairly new life.  She lives at Carraigfaire Cottage, once the home of a famous Irish composer, Eamon McCarthy.  While Eamon's ghost once haunted the cottage, he has since disappeared.  And Gethsemane wants him back - mainly because his descendant Billy, the current owner, is planning to sell the cottage to an American real estate developer named Hank Wayne who will destroy the heart of the cottage while turning it into a hotel.  Beca...

11 Things That Toxic People Do And How to Protect Yourself "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Toxic people will pollute everything around them. Dont hesitate. FUMIGATE. Mandy Hale

Every one of us at one point or another has come in contact with a toxic person. You may have recognized it, identifying the negative energy of this person immediately, steering clear and protecting yourself. Others, however, have developed the ability over time to blend in with others around them, navigating this world undetected until its too late.

Dealing with a toxic individual can be completely exhausting, requiring time and energy to protect yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. They are destructive, tearing apart everything that they touch and everyone that they come in contact with. They may be your family member, co-worker, friend or neighbor. While avoidance is always the most effective tool in your arsenal, it is not always an option. If, for example, you are required to work with someone toxic it is important to learn how to recognize and acknowledge their toxic behavior. Awareness of the problem will allow you to establish healthy boundaries and take the necessary steps to protect yourself.

Pay attention for these 11 things that toxic people do:

They Project Their Thoughts and Feelings on Others

Have you ever had someone put words in your mouth, accusing you of feelings that didnt even cross your mind to begin with? One means of manipulation used by toxic individuals is to actually project their own thoughts and feelings onto their victims. If you notice that the thoughts that they are accusing you of are completely unknown to you, the odds are that the one accusing you is the person who really has a problem. Dont try to defend yourself or argue with the person, as that will only escalate matters.

5 More Common Wheat Belly Mistakes "IndyWatch Feed Food"

Ive talked previously about the 7 Common Mistakes people make when they first start out on the Wheat Belly lifestyle, such as eating gluten-free foods or continuing to avoid fat. Make just one of these mistakes and it can impair your weight loss and health-regaining success. Set it right and wonderful things can happen.

There are, however, several additional landmines that can explode in your path and deprive you of the kinds of extravagant successes you see on the Wheat Belly Facebook page. Among the additional common mistakes people make are:

  • Continuing to consume soft drinks sweetened with aspartameBig mistake. We now know that aspartame (as well as saccharine and sucralose) alter bowel flora in such a way that it causes weight gain and type 2 diabetes, even though aspartame itself contains no calories. This explains, for instance, why people who consume diet soft drinks sweetened with aspartame are more overweight than people who drink sugar-sweetened soft drinks. (Please do NOT interpret this to mean that sugar is therefore good. Remember: Less bad is NOT necessarily goodlearn from the blunders of conventional dietary thinkers and dietitians.)
  • Heating prebiotic fibersWe include prebiotic fibers in the Wheat Belly, as well as Undoctored, lifestyles because they nourish bowel flora. Getting bowel flora back in working order is a huge advantage in numerous aspects of health. However, most prebiotic fibers break down into sugar upon heating. A medium-sized green, unripe banana, for example, contains 27 grams fiber, zero grams sugar. Heat the banana in a banana bread recipe (even if grain-free) and nearly all the fiber will convert to sugar. This much sugar will cause weight loss to come to a halt, provoke small LDL particles that lead to heart disease, raise blood sugar and promote insulin resistance, etc.all the effects you do not want. So, as a general rule, do not heat...

Breaking: Steve Bannon Steps Down From Breitbart News After War Of Words With Trump "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

trump-bannon

In a stunning downfall for a man once close to the very pinnacle of power, former chief strategist to President Trump, Steve Bannon, has stepped down from Breitbart News after a week of public infighting between the pair that included a sharply worded rebuke by the president.

The news was announced in a short article posted on the Breitbart website that claimed that Bannon and the right-wing news outlet would work together for a smooth transition during what has been a trying time for all involved.

Im proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform, Bannon noted in his statement.

For their part, the mainstream media couldnt be happier, with anti-Trump news network CNN actually providing live updates on Bannons ouster as if it were some sort of natural disaster that Americans needed up to the minute coverage on.

CNN reported:

A Breitbart employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter, told CNN that everyone seems stunned.

SiriusXM also announced it had ended its relationship with Bannon, saying in a statement, Breitbart News has decided to end its relationship with Stephen K. Bannon, therefore he will no longer host on SiriusXM since our programming agreement is with Breitbart News.

Breaking: Steve Bannon Steps Down From Breitbart News After War Of Words With Trump "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Bitcoin Developers Must Do What Investors Want, Long-Term or Short "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin Developers Must Do What Investors Want, Long-Term or Short

There are snotty people who claim to be long-term thinkers and want me to treat their plans seriously. The problem with long-term thinkers is that there is an ambiguity between them and people who are living in a fantasy. For you cannot plan beyond your ability to survive, and no one really knows how long their current investment strategy will keep them alive. If you are planning beyond your ability to survive, then you are not a long-term thinker. You are a person in a fantasy world.

Long-Term Fantasy

The first step to convincing me that you are a long-term thinker is to convince me that you can survive long enough for your plan to be realized. Furthermore, you must learn to survive for five minutes before you can learn to survive for ten years, so I will first look at your short-term thinking before I would even bother to listen to your long-term plans. Long-term thinking is built on top of short-term thinking, so short-term thinking is more fundamental....

Scientists Have Found A Drug That Regrows Teeth, And It Could Leave Dentists Without Work "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The dental fillings that we all probably hate going to the dentist to get taken care of may soon be a part of history!

A new discovery about a drug called Tideglusib might replace fillings for cavity repair. Developed for and trialed to treat Alzheimers disease, the drug also happens to promote the natural tooth regrowth mechanism, allowing the tooth to repair cavities and heal itself.

Tideglusib works by stimulating stem cells in the pulp of teeth, prompting the damaged area to regenerate the hard dentin material that makes up the majority of a tooth. Dentine is the mineralized substance beneath tooth enamel that gets eaten away by tooth decay.

Teeth can naturally regenerate dentine without any help, but only under certain circumstances. The pulp must be exposed through decay or trauma to prompt the manufacture of dentine. But even then, the tooth can only regrow a very thin layer naturallynot enough to repair cavities caused by decay, which are generally deep. Tideglusib changes this outcome because it turns off the GSK-3 enzyme, which stops dentine from forming.

In the research, the team inserted small, biodegradable sponges made of collagen soaked in Tideglusib into cavities. The sponges triggered dentine growth and within six weeks, the damage was repaired. The collagen structure of the sponges melted away, leaving only the intact tooth.

London Dental Institute Professor Paul Sharpe from Kings College London, who is also the lead author said: The simplicity of our approach makes it ideal as a clinical dental product for the natural treatment of large cavities, by providing both pulp protection and restoring dentine. In addition, using a drug that has already been tested in clinical trials for Alzheimers disease provides a real opportunity to get this dental treatment quickly into clinics.

In an interview with The Guardian said: The tooth is not just a lump of mineral, its got its own physiology. Youre replacing a living tissue with an inert cement. Fillings work fine, but if the tooth can repair itself, surely [thats] the best way. Youre restoring all the vitality of the tooth.

The procedure has only been used in mouse teeth and there is a lot more research to be done to confirm if the results can be replicated in humans. The researchers used Tideglusib on damaged teeth in mice to see how it promoted stem cell activation. The team plan on moving to rats next, and if those results are positive, human trials could be next on the list!

Napoleon, Divorce and Womens Rights "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

51vKKAg-jALOn the 10th of January 1810, the divorce ceremony of Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Josphine was performed as a grand social gathering, with each of the parties reading out a statement of devotion to the each other. A year prior to that, after a tense dinner together, Napoleon had announced to Josphine that he had his mind set on separation. The emperor had long desired a son who would succeed him and continue the Bonaparte dynasty, but Josphine, a widow six years his senior and already mother-of-two had been unable to provide him with a heir in their fifteen years together. Although their relationship was an unusual power-struggle with mutual distrust and infidelities, it seemed to have run deep and their separation had a heavy impact on both of them.

Allegedly, upon learning of Napoleons decision to divorce, the empress suffered a nervous fit and fainted, and had to be carried back to her chambers by her husband and his aide. The day after the divorce, as she wept at Malmaison, Napoleon went to console her and the couple walked hand-in-hand in the rain. Bonapartes  name was on Josphines lips when she died in 1814, aged 51 of pneumonia (b...
