Mike Novogratz Partners With Bloomberg to Launch Cryptocurrency Index "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The founder of Galaxy Digital Capital Management LP is joining forces with Bloomberg LP to start an index for the cryptocurrency industry, according to a statement from the two companies.

Michael Novogratz, ex-hedge fund manager of the Fortress Investment Group, today launched the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index (BGCI). According to the statement, the index is designed to track the performance of the largest, most liquid portion of the cryptocurrency market, which is made up of 10 digital currencies.

The ones currently listed are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, EOS, Litecoin, Dash, Monero, Ethereum Classic, and Zcash.

The index will be rebalanced monthly, with coins capped at 30 percent of their total, and cant be less than one percent. At the time of publishing, Bitcoin and Ethereum both make up 30 percent, with Ripple at 14 percent. Ethereum Classic and Zcash are both listed at one percent.

Novogratz, a prominent bitcoin advocate, said:

We wanted an institutional player for the whole ecosystem, and I think its important for the crypto ecosystem. Youre starting to see more institutional participation and what theyre looking for is this architecture. Heres an index that will feel like the S&P 500 in a few months, that people can benchmark themselves against.

The creation of the cryptocurrency index signals an important step in the growth of the digital currency space. In the early days of bitcoins existence this type of movement may not have seemed possible; however, the launch of the BGCI highlights the mainstream direction its heading. The BGCI utilizes a rules-based methodology and data from sources that have passed both Bloomberg and Galaxy Digital Capital Managements due diligence processes.

Todays launch of the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index reflects our clients growing interest in cryptocurrencies, said Alan Campbell, Global Product Manager for Bloomberg Indices. The index brings our rigorous approach to index construction to cryptos and will provide investors with a transparent benchmark to gauge the performance of the broader market....

Heat Pump Air Conditioner/Water Heater "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This is my off-grid Rheem heat pump water heater/air conditioner setup, it draws 300-400 watts. I had to replace the elements with 2000w 480v elements which only draw about 500w at 240v because even when it is in "Heat Pump Mode" it will still fire one of the elements if the water temperature gets below 70F.

Please stay tuned as this page will be updated with additional information, tools, and materials over the next 24-hours.

If you want to do more, talk to your contact your city council, selectmen, Mayor, water board, and water director.

  • Nearly every community in the USA has a city, town or village council to work for the best interests of the residents.
  • With friends and neighbors, attend one of their meetings to explain the facts as presented in the Bashash et al.(2017) study where the authors reported that it was the level of fluoride in the urine of pregnant women that was the causative factor for a drop of 5 to 6 IQ points in their children at 4 years of age and 6-12 years of age. 299 pregnant women and their offspring were in this multi-million dollar study funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). The levels of fluoride in pregnant women in fluoridated communities in the U.S. are expected to be the same levels as the women in the Bashash et al. study.
  • Also mention that another study of pregnant women and their offspring by Thomas et al. (2018) found a similar result for the lowering of IQ in 3 year olds. This study was also funded by the U.S NIH.
  • Ask them to consider this question:

If your wife or daughter was pregnant,
would you want them to know about
    the results of these studies?
Would you want them to drink the tap water?

  • Request your city council to invoke the Precautionary Principle(If in Doubt, Take it Out) and place an immediate moratorium on fluoridation in the community so that all pregnant women in your area will be protected.
  • If your city council refuses to consider a moratorium on fluoridation, ask that they provide free non-fluoride tap water to pregnant women and bottle-fed infants in the community for not only drinking purposes but for food uses such as soups, rice, pasta, coffee, tea, fruit beverages, etc. They can do this by placing water taps in convenient locations throughout your city/town that provide drinking water with no added fluoride, or
  • By subsidizing reverse osmosis water filters for placement under the kitchen sink in the homes of pregnant women and bottle-fed infants.  Concurrent with this would be for your council to consider the best means of delivery of this water to families without cars to carry it.
  • Request the city Council to write to the city/or county Public Health Director and local Water Director a...

EOS Looks Poised for a Move Toward Record Highs "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

EOS appears to be preparing for a move back toward all-time highs, price chart analysis indicates.
The cryptocurrencys pullback from the Apr 29 record high of $23.03 on the Bitfinex exchange ran out of steam near $15.71 the 38.2 percent Fibonacci retracement of the rally from the March 18 low of $3.87 to Apr 29 high.
Stepping back a little, the 38.2 percent Fibonacci retracement is among the 3 gold ratios of technical evaluation, with the others being 50 and 61.8 percent. Theyre frequently considered strong support/resistance levels. If prices break beneath the 38.2 percent Fibonacci retracement level, then the following support is the 50 percent, followed by 61.8 percent.
Nevertheless, if the 38.2 percent support level stays, as is the situation with EOS currently, then it is considered a sign that a pullback has run its course.
EOS daily graph

As seen from the graph above, EOS bounced-off from around 38.2 % Fibonacci retracement support on May 1 and also appears to have assembled a base around $16.30 from the eight days since.
Notably, daily trading volumes have dropped sharply in the last fourteen days, suggesting the pullback is probably nothing more than the usual bout of profit-taking.
Further, the long-run momentum studies have been biased bullish (sloping upward). For example, the 20-day and 50-day moving averages (MAs) are trending up and EOS is sitting well above these amounts.
EOS/USD longs peak on Bitfinex

Interestingly, EOS/USD long trades on Bitfinex have climbed to record highs, regardless of the pullback and latest sideways action in costs, suggesting that dips are being viewed as purchasing opportunity.
Therefore, EOS looks possible to scale the $20 mark soon and may have another go at the record high of $23.03 ahead of the mainnet launch, scheduled for June 2 an event keenly   expected by the community and investors.
As of writing, EOS is trading at $17.81 on Bitfinex down 0.78 percent from the previous days close of $17.95. The cryptocurrency especially consisted 193 percentage in Apr and was the best performing top 25 cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
View

EOS could re-test $20.00 within a few days and may find acceptance above that psychological hurdle. In such a case, a rally to new record highs above $23.029 cant be ruled out.
On the downside, a daily close below $15.71 (38.2 percent Fibonacci retracement level) would signal the rally from the March 18 low of $3.87 has ended and could yield a deeper pullback to $11.19 (61.8 percent Fibonacci retracement).
In addition, prices could endure an exaggerated fall on even marginally bad news, due to extreme positioning as represented by listing EOS/USD long trades on Bitfinex.

Sumatra to Pilot Blockchain App for Decentralised Decision-Making "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

An Australian startup is launch a blockchain application in Indonesia that could possibly enable citizens to vote in elections. The aviator project in Horizon State is likely to start on the island of Sumatra in July, with the roster expected to continue until December, the platforms co founder, Nimo Naamani, told CoinDesk through email. The blockchain based platform will be made accessible to locals by means of a mobile program and is originally aimed to help provide decentralised decision making and community involvement, according to Naamani. In the end, the startup hopes the program could expand to voting to cancel fraud and address local electoral challenges, in addition to other services.

Naamani explained: throughout the platform, we may provide communities with tools to improve engagement and discussions. Through our partners, we may offer the constituency with additional benefits like access to financial services at the micro level something that is not so simple with existing banking infrastructure. Should the Sumatra aviator prove successful, Horizon State is expecting to expand the project throughout the country. When this is done, I think additional expansions into more states and communities will occur through 2019. He explained. Whilst the Indonesian government isnt involved with the effort however, he noted that the company might be in the position to approach the government over a wide range of use cases, including elections, following the Sumatra roll outside.

We are seeing an increase in interest from organizations that are looking to utilize blockchain based community participation to push progress forward, Naamani explained. For the aviator, Horizon State will be cooperating with cryptocurrency fund startup MCV CAP, in addition to another partner to be announced within the next couple weeks, in accordance with the co founder. The news is as Indonesia is much more broadly eyeing blockchain technology. According to Reuters, the nations Financial Services Authority, which regulates the finance sector, has set up a team assigned to study the technology and its possible benefits.

In addition, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawat told the news source that her department was eyeing blockchain for various use cases including subsidies and micro loans. EBOLAS BACK! OUTBREAK ALERT After 21 Cases And 17 Deaths Reported In Last 5 Weeks "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The Democratic Republic of Congo has been alerted to an outbreak of Ebola.  In the past five weeks, there have been 21 cases of the infection reported, and 17 of those are now deceased.

The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo declared the outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever, a rare and deadly disease, on Tuesday, the World Health Organization reported.  The declaration of an outbreak came after laboratory results confirmed two cases of the disease in the province of Bikoro in the northwestern part of the country. Bikoro is situated on the shores of Lake Tumba near the border with the Republic of the Congo. The new cases were reported from a small health facility about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Bikoro.

The average case fatality rate for Ebola hemorrhagic fever is around 50%. The deadly virus most commonly affects people and nonhuman primates (monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees) and is caused by one of five Ebola viruses.

We will gather more samples, conduct contact tracing, engage the communities with messages on prevention and control, and put in place methods for improving data collection and sharing, said Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, the WHOs regional director for Africa. WHO will work closely with health authorities and partners to support the national response.

Upon learning of the confirmed cases, the WHO alerted neighboring countries and set up its Incident Management System to fully dedicate staff and resources to the response. A government statement released Tuesday stated that the Ministry of Health has taken all necessary measures to respond promptly and effectively to this new epidemic of Ebola in the DRCs national territory.

Unfortunately, the DRC has a history with the Ebola virus. This is its ninth outbreak of Ebola virus disease since the discovery of the virus in the country in...

Why Governments Should be Promoting Integration Over Mining "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

It was reported on April 25, 2018, that the Philippines is going to create a special economic zone for cryptocurrency and blockchain companies. This special economic zone will help to stimulate operations and growth for blockchain companies in a regulatory favorable and low tax environment.

The move was reminiscent of Belarus actions in the past few months, the country legalized cryptocurrencies and enabled tax-free policies for companies in the blockchain space for the next five years.

The news from Philippines and Belarus comes as a breath of fresh air in the global climate for cryptocurrencies, where China clamped down on its local cryptocurrency industry, and U.S. regulatory authorities are currently looking to impose stringent regulations and taxes on this new industry.

Yet, despite this mixed array of approaches to the cryptocurrency industry, governments who are in favor of cryptocurrencies could do more to facilitate growth.

Where countries do look toward adopting cryptocurrencies, their efforts focus primarily on cryptocurrency mining and exchanges rather than the complete technological integration of these digital assets.

These efforts are likely short-sighted.

Why Focusing on Cryptocurrency Mining and Exchanges Is Not the Answer

Cryptocurrency mining is popular at the current moment but might be on its way out. Issues such as excess energy consumption (...

The Opioid Crisis: Epidemic By Design "IndyWatch Feed Health"

By Rosanne Lindsay

An estimated 400 million people, of all ages, suffer from depression, a leading cause of disability worldwide. Yet, when the cure is worse than the disease, you have an epidemic by design.

Sixty percent of Americans are prescribed a prescription drug to compensate for a biological or mental imbalance. To escape pain, people are told to take synthetic opioids. In 2016, the opioid epidemic took 42,000 American lives, while overdose deaths from all drugs took the lives of 64,000 Americans the same year, an increase of 21 percent over the previous year.

According to the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, more than one million American kids younger than six are taking psychiatric drugs.  The CDC admits that opioid addiction has reached a crisis. When the number of children under 18 years of age admitted to hospitals for opioid overdose has nearly doubled since 2004, we are a nation under sedation.

No Room in the Womb for Fluoride Moms2B Campaign Launch "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Today, the Fluoride Action Network launched its Moms2B Avoid Fluoride campaign to alert pregnant women that consuming fluoride, especially from fluoridated water, can potentially harm the developing brain of their unborn child.

In a rational world it should not have been necessary for FAN to launch this campaign.

This warning should have been issued by U.S. governmental health agencies at the federal, state and local levels, since it was their own agencies that funded these important ground-breaking mother-offspring IQ studies. However, they appear to be hamstrung by their long endorsement and belief in the safety and efficacy of the water fluoridation program, which the vast majority of other countries have rejected. However, the matter is so urgent in our view, if they wont do it, FAN will.

In 2017 and 2018, two mother-offspring studies on the cognitive effect of fluoride on the human fetus were released. Exposure was determined by measuring fluoride in the urine of the pregnant women because its a good measure of total fluoride exposure. Both studies reported a significant decrease in the IQs of children. The studies, by a team of respected researchers, found an IQ loss between 5 and 6 points at 4 years of age and between 6 to 12 years of age (Bashash et al. 2017) and at 1 to 3 years of age (Thomas et al. 2018).

The singular importance of these two studies is that the fluoride levels in the urine of the pregnant women are similar to what is found in adults living in fluoridated communities in the U.S.

The studies were funded by three U.S. government agencies: National Institutes of Health, Environmental Protection Agency, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Science....

Japanese Souffle Pancakes with Lemon Curd and Blueberries "IndyWatch Feed Food"

Japanese Souffle Pancakes with Lemon Curd and Blueberries
For Mother's Day I often like to go with a nice breakfast in bed or brunch recipe and these Japanese souffle pancakes with lemon curd and blueberries are a great way to go! These pancakes are so light, fluffy and tall, just like a souffle, but a pancake, for breakfast! That massive rise comes form a few different factors the first being using more eggs, and separating them and beating the whites before gently folding them into the batter. Regular pancakes would just mix the whole eggs into the batter and beating them adds plenty of air and thus rise to these pancakes. (Try this the next time you make your regular pancake recipe!) Next up is using baking powder and baking soda, both of which add to the rise in pancakes but when you combine them with an acidic like buttermilk you get even more rise! Pancakes include a fat which can be oil, butter or in this case mayonnaise which also adds to the rise factor on the count of the acidic (vinegar or lemon juice) in it. Finally, the pancakes are cooked in a ring to ensure that the batter bakes up rather than spreading out! These Japanese souffle pancakes take a little bit more effort to make than regular pancakes but that light fluffy souffle like texture is well worth it and they are sure to please mom on Mother's Day, or anyone, on any day really! I like to serve them topped with a fresh homemade lemon curd and blueberries!

Promoted: Trilliants Plan For Crypto-Based Fractional Ownership "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Trilliant

For many, returns are the reason for investing in cryptocurrency. The thought of garnering profit without having to become intimately involved in the technical details is a proposition that holds great appeal. However, actually achieving investor peace of mind can be tricky in light of the cryptocurrency markets complexities the market based on blockchain technology, unregulated emerging technology that has created new vehicles of valuation. These issues can add up to perceived levels of unpredictability that threaten the comfort of some investors.

But there is one vital component within the space that has become familiar to almost everyone, and that the budding ecosystem depends on: ATMs. Its here that Trilliant is offering fractions of its ATMs to users and adding all profits to a revenue pool, which is divided up among investors. These ATMs are the essential  point-of-service for deposits and withdrawals from everyday users. Trilliant does this by offering fractions of its ATMs to users and adding all profits to a revenue pool, which is divided up among investors.

Trilliants project reflects a growing movement toward the withdrawal and deposit of cryptocurrency at ATMs throughout the world. According to Trilliants white paper: There are less than 2,700 dedicated cryptocurrency ATMs in the world, of which roughly 40 percent are able to process altcoins such as Ethereum, Litecoin or EOS. Only around 30 percent of the existing ATMs allow users to sell Bitcoin (two-way), while most of the machines are only offering the purchase of coins (one-way).

Trilliants offering is an opportunity for everyday investors who might seek a stake in the cryptocurrency boom for the promise of a healthy return--via the comfortable familiarity of an ATM machine.

Dubbed as the Fractional Ownership Program for Next-Generation Cryptocurrency ATMs, Trilliant seeks to encourage everyone from seasoned investors to crypto neophytes to participate.

Trilliants Tokens are used to buy Fractional Ownership Units online and reduce transaction fees using the ATMs. Company leaders anticipate that the first batch of ATMs will be shipped sometime around the fall of 2018.

The Road Ahead

Trilliant began in 2008 when it was first launched as an investment vehicle. The umbrella firm behind Trilliant, Crypto Capital AG, is located in Switzerland. Therefore, company operations will take place in Zurich.

China Favors Blockchain for Logistics, Government, and Healthcare, Survey Finds "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

A joint survey conducted by PwC and VeChain between November and December 2017 has found that logistics, government, and medical services are the sectors with the greatest potential to adapt blockchain technology in China.

PwC and VeChain Survey Finds Logistics, Government, and Healthcare Are Favorites for Blockchain Adoption

The Popular Republic of China has declared war against cryptocurrencies, clamping down on digital currency trading and prohibiting initial coin offerings, but it has consistently supported the underlying blockchain technology as a tool to disrupt most economic sectors. In 2016, the government has written the technology into its roadmap for the countrys development in the five years to 2020.

PwC and VeChain surveyed 130 companies online and 40 others through face-to-face interviews while focusing the questions on the application of the technology on non-financial sectors. Half of the companies surveyed have revenue of more than US$100 million.

While Mainland China regulators oppress the surge of cryptocurrency exchanges and the use of bitcoin as a means of payment, over half of respondents expect the underlying technology to have a significant impact on business. Sunny Lu, chief executive officer of blockchain company VeChain, confirmed that sentiment.

Blockchains tamper-resistant and distributed data storage features enable us to improve traceability and transparency for logistics and supply chain management. These characteristics will be put to use in optimizing business transactions and trade relations.

Excluding finance, logistics is considered a key industry to use blockchain technology for its capabilities of tracing the origin of stocks as well as track transport and store data. In second comes government as decentralized ledger technology is able to disrupt governmental documentation storage and transfer, as well as provide smart city planning.

The National Audit Office is preparing to use blockchain for its data infrastructure and a few governmental bodies in Mainland China have shown interest in the technology. This includes Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, which will be entering with 3 billion yuan (US$471 mil...

Lilac, the Color of Half Mourning, Doomed Hotels, and Fashionable Feelings "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Lorde at the Video Music Awards

In 1960, architect John Macsai cracked open a book of brick samples to show his employer, A.N. Pritzker. Pritzker was, according to The Chicago Reader, an incomprehensibly wealthy man who wanted Mascai to build him a hotel. The building would be the first Hyatt Hotel in the Midwest. Mascai had already drafted up the shape of the structure. It was going to be a subtly striking building, a fine example of midcentury modern style, perched on short stilts in downtown Lincolnwood, Illinois. Mascais plans called for a long, low-slung building with the main structural elements, like the supporting steel beams, placed on the outside, allowing for extra large rooms on the inside. Like most design of the era, it emphasized function and comfort equally, with few decorative touches (and certainly no Morris-esque flourishes). Macsai wanted to use gray bricks and white-painted steel for the hotels facade. But Pritzker had other ideas. The gray, he said, was dull. He was a man with more dollars than sense, and he didnt want something tasteful or subdued. He wanted to build something that would stand out, that would trumpet its existence to pedestrians from a mile away.

And so, after pawing through the sample book, Pritzker picked out a purple glazed brick. He didnt pick a deep purple, or one of those obscure dark maroons that can read as brown in the right light, and he didnt choose a soft gray-leaning mauve either. He picked lilac. A shade darker than thistle and lighter than mulberry. A shade that is undeniably purple, even at dusk, even at dawn.

No Room in the Womb for Fluoride "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Today, the Fluoride Action Network (FAN) launched its Moms2B Avoid Fluoride campaign to alert pregnant women that consuming fluoride, especially from fluoridated water, can potentially harm the developing brain of their unborn child, according to newly published research.

In 2017 and 2018, two mother-child studies on the cognitive effect of fluoride on the human fetus were released. Both studies reported a significant decrease in the IQs of children whose mothers had higher fluoride intakes. The studies, by a team of respected researchers, found an average IQ loss of 6 points at age 4 years, along with losses at ages 1-3 and 6-12 (Bashash et al 2017, Thomas et al 2018). The studies were U.S. government funded.

The singular importance of these studies is that the fluoride levels in the urine of the pregnant women are similar to what is found in adults living in fluoridated communities in the U.S.

These findings strengthen the evidence from over 50 previous studies in humans and over 300 in animals that found links between fluoride exposure and lowered IQ, brain damage, and learning and memory deficits. The new studies have clearly demonstrated, for the first time, that pregnancy is the most critical period for exposure to fluoride. The fetus now ranks as the most vulnerable of our species to fluorides toxicity.

According to Paul Connett, PhD, Director of FAN,

Pregnant women need to be warned about this emerging risk from a needlessly imposed exposure to fluoride.

The main source of fluoride exposure in the U.S. is from the approximately 70% of U.S. public water supplies where it is added with the intention to reduce tooth decay.

What you can do:

If you are pregnant, avoid fluoride, especially from fluoridated water.

Start a group to share this information with pregnant women in your community

Start a group opposed to fluoridation in your community

Contact local and state officials and water suppliers. Tell them to stop fluoridation or reject its initiation.

A Thoughtfully Refined & Restored Treasure in the Berkshires "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

In the idyllic Berkshires in western Massachusetts, far from the noise and buzzing energy of New York City, sits a home thats lined with lilac trees on the entire front and side of the house, where theyve grown for over 100 years. In the springtime the home fills with the scent of lilac flowers in other seasons, its the smell of nearby pine trees, a welcome accompaniment in the winter when enveloped by the warmth of the fireplace.

These are some of Lyndsey Hamiltons favorite things about her familys Berkshires home, an escape from the city where she keeps a busy schedule as an event and interior designer and her husband works as a furniture and lighting designer. The couple, along with their 8-year-old daughter, English Setter puppy Mose, and cat Roxanne, split their time between both locations a routine theyre grateful for three years later after the massive renovation that was required of this combined structure. It is actually two houses that were combined originally a 1900s farmhouse and in the 1930s the owners combined with a 1856 Greek Revival schoolhouse owned by the Westinghouse family, Lyndsey explains.

And the 5,000-square-foot residence stayed lovingly rooted in the same family for years, after which it changed hands to Lyndsey and h...

Ingenious Tool Hacks You Never Knew You Could Do "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Ingenious Tool Hacks You Never Knew You Could Do

These tool hacks can vastly increase your productivity and efficiency by getting the most out of your everyday tools. Our tasks can be a lot easier if we have the right tools within our reach. What if the right equipment is not in your toolbox? Below are ingenious tool hacks that can cut down your work time and save your hard-earned money just by using the full potential of your already existing tools.

Tool Hacks: New Uses for Old Tools

1. Cut a PVC Pipe Using a String

Cutting mounted PVC pipes can be difficult and tricky if you don't have the right tools, but with the use of a string, you can easily slice through pipes. The string works as quickly as a saw and fits into tight spaces. All you have to do is cut a shallow notch using a file or hacksaw blade to give it a starting point and then pull the string back and forth until the pipe comes loose.

2. Shine Shoes with a Drill

Polishing your shoes to look new and shiny can take a great deal of your time. To reduce the time you spend making your dull shoes glossy, a drill-powered buffer can simply do the task. Just change your drill bit with a buffing ball and it will instantly transform into a high-speed polisher. You can also apply polish to your shoes before buffing to make them look even more lustrous.

3. Use a Comb to Hold a Nail

Have you experienced accidentally bashing your fingers while hammering a nail? Now, you don't have to feel the excruciating pain ever again! Just insert the nail between the teeth of a comb to hold it in place before you hit it with a hammer.

4. Clean with a Leaf Blower

Don't limit your good old leaf blower to a single yard task. After all, it's also an excellent cleaning tool which performs faster than a broom or vacuum. You can use it to dust your room, clean cobwebs in your garage, dry your car, air out sheds, and a whole a lot more.

5. Mix Concrete Using a Rake

OmiseGO to Initiate Decentralization In Q4 2018 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

OmiseGO, a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange issued on Ethereum who has raised $25 million in its initial coin offering in Q2 2017, has updated its roadmap to clarify the timelines and milestones ahead.

OmiseGO Shares Updated Visual Roadmap

The dynamic, evolving process, which has started with the ICO in Q2 2017, was followed by an airdrop of 5% of total OMG supply in Q3 2017. The decentralized exchange infrastructure, Cosmos DEx, which allows currency-agnostic asset exchange between all integrated wallets, will no longer be included on the OMG core roadmap. Tenderming DEx (Honte) will be eliminated from the roadmap as Plasma progressed more quickly than expected and the OMG token is to be spooned after the Cosmos hub is launched, but OmiseGO will still work with the Cosmos team to build a parallel DEx on Cosmos.

Put simply, a snapshot of all balances will be taken at a given block height, and every address holding OMG at that time will receive an equal quantity of the Cosmos DEx staking token (not to be confused with ATOMs the Cosmos DEx will have a separate token). As stated will give at least 2 weeks notice before the snapshot.

The non-custodial Plasma DEx has an estimated time of arrival in Q4 2018. The decentralization will be implemented in two phases, the first one maintains a centralized service to provide order matching, but users will have custody of their funds with non-custodial order settlement on the OMG Plasma chain. The second phase will have the exchange fully decentralized by moving the order book and order matching into the Plasma chains and decentralizing the order matching process. The team did not disclose the ETA for the full DEx on Plasma.

The OMG network will be subject to enhancements and include exchange of non-fungible tokens, removal of confirmation messages in Tesuji Plasma, recurring payments, conditional payments, order blinding, front-running protection, and scalable blockchain. The production of these features is ongoing.

Regarding the scalable blockchain, there is progress on Plasma scaling, proof-of-stake consensus and integration with the Ethereum blockchain. The team has chosen to start with the simplest possible consensus mechanism, Proof of Authority (PoA), with OmiseGO as operator. Transaction fees are necessary in order to deter DDoS attacks, but the OMG networ...

Study: Global Warming Skeptics MORE LIKELY To Be Eco-Friendly Than Climate Change Alarmists "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Skeptics of the junk science that has become climate change are more likely than their global warming alarmist counterparts to be eco-friendly. Those who are skeptical of the often manipulated data are more likely to recycle and conserve fossil fuels than those who buy into the climate change religion.

Al Gore has been accused of hypocrisy for talking the talk on climate change despite burning through fossil fuels at a rapid clip, but it turns out hes not alone.  His lemmings dont exactly walk the walk either.

Published in the April edition of the Journal of Environmental Psychology, the one-year study broke 600 participants into three groups based on their level of concern about climate change: highly concerned, cautiously worried, and skeptical. The study by Cornell and the University of Michigan researchers found that those highly concerned about climate change were less likely to engage in recycling and other eco-friendly behaviors than global-warming skeptics, according to The Washington Times.

Those highly concerned about climate change were the most supportive of government climate policies (meaning they want others stolen from and forced at gunpoint to pay for their beliefs) but were the least likely to report their own individual-level actions.  Whereas those who were skeptical of the manipulated data surrounding the climate change science...

DIY Projects: 15 Ideas For Using Cinder Blocks "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Cinder blocks are actually CMUs (an acronym for concrete masonry unit) i.e. large, rectangular bricks which are used in construction, but have a lot of other uses. Well explore 15 smart ideas for using cinder blocks for your homestead.

Why cinder blocks you may be wondering? Well, because theyre readily available at any hardware store or construction site, you can get them for basically nothing if you scrap or recycle them, theyre relatively lightweight, tough, and they require next to nothing in terms of maintenance.

As you can see, theyre perfect for building all sorts of things (affordable, utilitarian pieces mostly) at dirt cheap prices when compared with what you can buy from a hardware store.

DIY Projects: 15 Ideas For Using Cinder Blocks

1. Build a Block Fire Pit Using Cinder Blocks

First you should check out the laws and regulations in your county regarding building fire pits. Sometimes youll need a permit and may also have to pay a relatively small fee for building it.

After that, youll need to choose the best spot for your cinder block fire pit. Youll want it to be far enough away from your house, plants, firewood and anything else that it may ignite accidentally. Ideally, your block fire pit should be in the proximity of a water hose in case of fire emergencies.

After youve found the sweet spot, all youll need are 24 fire-resistant cinder block caps, 2 bags of lava rock and a bag of mortar, with an estimated building cost of under $50. Heres how it should look like:

I am not what you picture when you think of a metalhead; I have no tattoos, no wide ear gauges, no long hair with which to head bang. There are teenagers who are twice as metal as I will ever be. But I do listen to metalhave done so for yearson both the brightest days and the grayest. I do have a pierced septum; its relatively new and more an accessorized front. And I do want a tattoo, though Ive only committed to the temporary kind. However, skin accessories and a darkly monochromatic wardrobe do not alone a metalhead make. One might assume this crowd to be full of fearless counterculture anarchists who give zero fucks about what anyone thinks. I am not so confident. I am afraid of letting people get too close because I dont trust others to understand me on a basic emotional level; I rarely trust my own judgment in the myriad of easy and difficult situations that daily life presents; and what little remaining self-esteem I have lies buried beneath a high-rise of self-hatred that manifests in destructive impulsesall of which leads me, on the worst days, to wish I werent alive. In other words, I live with major depression.

What does my depression look like?

More often than not, I sleep too late; Im sad and angry at myself for sleeping in; my whole day is thrown off course. With no established routine or foundation, I become sadder and angrier. Hopelessness sets in like quick-dry cement. Feeling all but ruined, I just want to go back to sleep. Instead of pulling myself out of my emotional quagmire through self-care, I feel paralyzed. I sleep more. With any notion of a regular schedule long gone, once Im finally awake, I recount every single way Ive failed myself. Tomorrow feels so impossible I dont even want to think about it. Then all this repeats the following morning because Ive stayed up too late worrying about what I cannot control. When this becomes the norm, I tell myself that I simply want to disappear. Thi...

Book Review: The Best Dark Rain by Marco Etheridge "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

Last month, I posted an author alert about a new writer I was planning to read just finished his book and wanted to share my review. See the author alert post here.

rain

As a voracious reader, I sometimes find myself in a bit of a slump and need to test out a new genre, author, or writing style. When I came across The Best Dark Rain: A Post-Apocalyptic Struggle for Life and Love by Marco Etheridge, I thought to myself you dont read much science-fiction, you havent seen many zombie films, and you havent sampled much from a writer living in Austria. Lets give it a chance! I liked the Resident Evil and The Day After Tomorrow movies, and this kinda felt like a combination of those two flicks, except I think Im not allowed to say the word zombie as they are clearly named Re-Ams by Mr. Etheridge which I think is a fantastic idea! Lets chat about my new experience

Seattle. Some sorta apocalypse has...

Chinese Blockchain Industry Thriving Despite ICO Ban "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Despite Chinas ban on trading cryptocurrency and ICOs the blockchain industry is growing exponentially, says Managing Director of the Floor, Hong Kong.

Crypto Trading and ICOs are a No No

The situation with China is a little bit sensitive at this point around here. Said Desmond Marshall in a recent interview with Finance Magnets regarding the status of Bitcoin and blockchain in China. Marshal is the Managing Director of the Hong Kong branch of the Floor, a fintech development company with its home base in Israel.

Marshall stressed that when talking about blockchain in China it is important to make the distinction between blockchain technology and cryptocurrency and ICOs which are in his words a big no no.

Since China began the process of banning the trading of cryptocurrencies through exchanges in the country ICOs have fallen under the same scrutiny. In regards to statements made by the Peoples Bank of China about digital payments, Marshall explained that you have to read between the lines.  Its quite clear that [the message is]: okay, were developing a digital currency, but for a very specific purpose. Marshall said referring to the fact that the Central Bank of China is developing a digital payment system of their own.

This payment system  will be for consumer goods; a can of soda, a handbag or for someone to pay their rent not, he points out;

in terms of ICO [tokens], they dont fall under electronic payments; they fall under trading. Thats a definite no-no, and I would not expect this ban to be lifted soon.

The why Marshall explains is that the Chinese government was seeing a lot of money flowing in and out of the country unregulated and a lot of money laundering on top of that. This is what caused the government to come down on crypto hard in the guise of anti-corruption regulations.

Crypto May Suffer but Blockchain Thrives

According to Marshall, the atmosphere for Blockchain technology development in China is the total opposite of the...

A White Label Solution to Easily Set up Exchange Platforms "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Stoxum is introducing a hybrid cryptocurrency exchange system that comes with a white label solution to help companies to set up their exchange platforms.

After a gloomy winter, the cryptomarket is returning to a bullish sentiment and the doom and gloom predictions are looking up. Interest in the market continues to grow, making it attractive to financial giants like Goldman Sachs, who recently announced that it will start trading Bitcoin.

As awareness of the potentialities of crypto grows, so does the need for better exchange platforms.

But companies frequently face restrictions on building a successful platform when it comes to investing in a good technical team to develop the complex product, overlooking the growth of the platform, or allocating their money on growth often at the expense of technical quality.

The Stoxum Solution

It was with these issues in mind that Stoxum came up with a solution that grants companies a solid technical product that also addresses the liquidity problem.

Stoxum is introducing a hybrid cryptocurrency exchange system that connects the best of centralized and decentralized exchanges, assuring high speed of operation and a reliable and easy-to-use interface.

The platform will sustain the five most relevant cryptocurrencies according to CoinMarketCap from the start, but it has committed to adding up to two new coins each month. Token holders will be able to vote on which coins they would like to see featured on the system.

Although the exchange of cryptocurrency is not a novelty, Stoxum hopes to bring something new to the market with its model of scaling and working with partners.

Its main distinctive feature is the white label solution which provides a ready-made technical product that allows other companies to easily set up a customizable exchange platform.

Stoxum is addressing the growth issue by having a dividend system and a single pool of liquidity. This means that all platforms on the Stoxum ecosystem share a common pool of orders and users will get the dividends of the entire operation. As such, the growth of even a sin...

Stripper Promotes Bitcoin for the Adult Industry

Brenna Sparks, the exotic dancer last featured in the news about a Las Vegas club where strippers accept bitcoin payments via QR tattoos, has published a blog post in an adult entertainment industry portal explaining the advantages of cryptocurrency to her colleagues. While she notes it can help with privacy, fixing piracy and other issues, the main advantage is helping people in the business avoid paying almost 50% to middlemen.

Sparks writes: Every time you perform or make content and distribute it, youre losing up to half of your earnings to who-knows-what on fees aloneNothing is more discouraging than to watch yourself give up nearly half of your earnings just becauseAlthough greed does play a role, what plays an even bigger role is discrimination. The reason this issue exists is because common payment processors like Paypal, Google, Stripe, etc. will not allow you to perform a transaction related to any adult work, and Banks like BofA or Chase will close your account if they suspect you do adult workCryptocurrency offers a simple solution ultra-low fees, no discrimination, and instant transactions anywhere in the world.
