Wood and Resin Coffee Tables Look Like Koi Ponds Come to Life

Epoxy Resin Koi Fish Coffee Pond

Visiting a koi pond is often a tranquil experience. While you may think that this requires venturing outdoors to experience it, EpoxyMiniStore captures the beauty of these elaborate water gardens in their exquisite epoxy resin furniture. The Vietnam-based maker produces a range of unique coffee tables that combine wood with resin to mimic the appearance of koi pond habitats.

From afar, it's easy to mistake these handmade pieces for real life. The resin is molded in such a way that it easily resembles water, whether it is still, rippling, or cascading down a small waterfall. Each of the koi is painted by hand in hyperrealistic detail which makes it seem as though a real fish is swimming underneath. As a result, the clear part of the coffee table looks like it contains the typical things you would find in a koi pond, while the wood is often manipulated to mimic natural rock formations.

All of EpoxyMiniStore's creations are a striking sight, easily fooling the eye into thinking that the water and fish are actually moving on the coffee table. When incorporated into the home, they surely bring some of the quiet beauty of nature to the indoors. And while most of these unique coffee tables come from EpoxyMiniStore's own creative vision, however, they also work with clients to produce custom-made furniture.

You can find available epoxy resin coffee tables via EpoxyMiniStore's Etsy shop.

Interactive Exhibition Celebrates Spring With Shape-Shifting Graphics of Beautiful Blooms

TeamLab Exhibition in Fukuoka That is Celebrating Spring

Springtime in Japan is known for spectacular cherry blossoms. While these are visible in real life between March and April, art collective teamLab creates annual immersive exhibitions that capture the beauty of these delicate pink flowers through amazing digital graphics. Hosted at teamLab Forest Fukuoka, this year's experience promises even more visual wonders with the addition of holographic animals.

As you move through the different rooms of the museum, you encounter a variety of images featuring blooms and creatures. When you touch the walls or approach these computer-generated animations, the elements changeflowers bloom, disperse, and more. No matter where your attention turns to in the museum, you will find that the graphics are constantly changing. The sakura installation belongs to the museum's larger exhibit, titled Shifting Valley, Living Creatures of Flowers, Symbiotic Livesa Whoe year per Year.

For 2023, teamLab has also incorporated life-size animal animations, which take form on March 24 (a couple of weeks into the exhibit). Kangaroos, giraffes, flamingos, and leopards can be seen traversing the ever-changing digital landscape, and you'll even be able to use your smartphones to capture these colorful visuals. Like the flowers, these animals do not keep still and will move or change according to how the audience interacts with the space.

Adults can purchase tickets for the exhibition for 1,600 yen ($12) during the week, and 1,800 yen (about $13.35) during weekends.

Dandelion-Like Fairy Robots Can Help Fill the Gap of Declining Pollinator Populations "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Dandelion-Like Fairy Robots Can Help Fill the Gap of Declining Pollinator Populations

FAIRY robot from Hao Zeng and Jianfeng Yang

Photo: Jianfeng Yang/Tampere University

The declining populations of pollinators across the globe are of great concern. As the backbone of fertilization and an important foundation of the ecosystem, scientists have come up with incredible solutions to preserve their lives. In Europe, bus stops have become pollinator pit stops. In Japan, tiny water shrines serve as bee respites. But what if pollinator populations are declining too much? A team of scientists from Tampere University in Finland has a possible solution.

The university's Light Robots is a group focused on robots that respond to light and are also lightweight. It honed in on stimuli-responsive polymers. Group leader and Academy Research Fellow Hao Zeng states, The development of stimuli-responsive polymers has brought about a wealth of material-related opportunities for next-generation small-scale, wirelessly controlled soft-bodied robots. He goes on to say that these special polymers have been used to make tiny robots walk, swim, and jump, but none have successfully used them to make robots flyuntil now.

Zeng and Jianfeng Yang have created a new dandelion-inspired design for their project called FAIRY, or Flying Aero-robots based on Light Responsive Materials Assembly. This polymer-assembly robot can fly by wind and is controlled by light. Superior to its natural counterparts, this artificial seed is equipped with a soft actuator, explains Zeng. The actuator is made of light-responsive liquid crystalline elastomer, which induces opening or closing actions of the bristles upon...

Empowerment Over Fear: Bitcoin, Home Birth And Responsible Sovereignty "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

I've gained a lot of sovereignty through Bitcoin, and I'm equally grateful that my partner has done the same by choosing home birth.

This is an opinion editorial by Conor Chepenik, an organizer for the Mass Adoption Bitcoin meetup and the father of a child who was born at home.

When my partner initially mentioned a home birth for our first child, I didnt give it much thought. As a man, I had limited knowledge of what childbirth entailed. For my whole life, it seemed like common knowledge that giving birth in the hospital is just what you do because its safe. Luckily, my partner didnt trust common knowledge, she went and verified for herself.

Did you know that in 2021, cesarean deliveries accounted for 32.1% of live births in the United States? I was taken aback when I learned that. One third of women were not having natural births in one of the wealthiest countries in the world?

I also learned that inducing women early is common practice in a hospital. It is usually done when there is a concern for the mother's or baby's health, but elective labor induction is also often performed for convenience. Labor induction carries various risks, including failed induction, low fetal heart rate, infection, uterine rupture and increased bleeding after delivery.

Furthermore, epidurals containing fentanyl have been known to cause difficulties in babies latching on to their mothers breasts. This is not meant to bash on hospitals. Its to point out that women's bodies have been able to birth babies long before humans created hospitals.

At first, a home birth seemed like a neat idea to me because it would mean that I got to watch my child enter this world from the comfort of my living room. But after learning about these statistics, my mindset quickly shifted to home birthing being not just interesting, but our best option.

Now, you might be wondering why an essay in Bitcoin Magazine is discussing childbirth. The answer is simple: Bitcoin, like home birth, is rooted in the idea of trusting oneself and ones own abilities. Bitcoin is a decentralized, digital currency that enables secure and private transactions without...

She Called Out Her Dad and Her Stepdad. Is She a Jerk? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Sometimes, you just gotta call people out in life

And sometimes, those people happen to be your dad and your stepdad

Yikes!

That sure doesnt sound good!

But lets get all the facts before we jump to conclusions, okay?

Dive in below!

AITA for calling out my dad and stepdad?

I (16f) have a twin brother (Cody).

I do cheer and Cody does sports. We do these activities because we enjoy them but Cody also puts in a lot of effort because hes constantly seeking approval from our dad AND step dad.

The two dont care for each other, but are somehow the best of friends when it comes to Codys sports.

He does like 5 different ones because our dad likes hockey and lacrosse while our step dad prefers football and basketball-they both enjoy baseball. If he ever dares to quit a single one, one of them will throw a riot or accuse him of playing favourites.

Its so dumb. Sometimes Codys schedules clash or get so overwhelming to the point where hell lay on his bedroom floor for hours and dissociate. Its been like this since he was like 10.

My mom and step mom think its just men being men and that boys enjoy sports so Cody probably doesnt care but like theres a limit to everything right?

We were having a celebratory lunch for our older sister before she leaves for college and both sides were there. The lunch ended at 2pm and our sister asked if we wanted to go the mall. I said yes and Cody was CLEARLY going to say yes but our dad said he had baseball practice.

Cody tried asking if he could sit out one day since he hasnt missed a single practice of anything in his life but our step dad joined our dads practice makes perfect speech and backed out. They then tried using ME as an example.

Oh Ashleys never missed a day of practice...

The Overpopulation Myth "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Rosanne Lindsay,
The myth of overpopulation is an unfounded belief that: the number of people on Earth will exceed the [hypothetical] carrying capacity of the planet in the foreseeable future, leading to economic or social collapse, and that actions ought to be taken to curb population growth. Population alarmists at the United Nations propose that the worlds growing population will strip the Earth of its useable resources and will outpace innovation and rates of production. This, they believe, will cause diminishing standards of living, more poverty, more hunger, famine and starvation, water shortages, pestilence, war and conflict over diminishing resources, the evisceration of wildlife habitats, and environmental catastrophes.   Population Research Institute

Scholars Predict CCP to Force People to Have Children to Resolve Aging Population Crisis After Faking Data Since 1990s "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Teresa Zhang and Summer Lawson
In 2023, after the Beijing government announced its population reduction for the first time in history, it attracted global attention due to the crisis of its aging population. Lian Yizheng, a professor of economics and a senior media professional in Hong Kong, recently shared in an exclusive interview with The Epoch Times his thoughts on the regime beginning to falsify its demographics since the 1990s. Coupled with the Beijing government concealing the deaths in the COVID pandemic, Chinas population may have already fallen below one billion. Lian predicts that the Chinese regime will introduce forced childbirth measures, which he believes will not help resolve the population issue. Lian thinks it is going to bring more crises to the government. On Jan. 17, the Statistics Bureau of China announced that its national population was 1.411.75 billion at the end of 2022, marking 850,000 less than at the end of 2021. It was the first time that a population decline was recorded officially. Lian assessed that the relevant figures should not be surprising since Chinas population crisis had been ongoing for many years. Lian mentioned that foreign media reports on the Chinese population were still based on the official data released by the Beijing government, resulting in their inability to evaluate the Chinese demographics accurately. Although Lian once told American media that their quoted data was inaccurate, their only response was having no other way to obtain data except the Chinese official publicized number and they cannot use other data without sources. Lian beli...

People Have Been Watching an AI-Generated Infinite Seinfeld Episode on Twitch "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Now, this is pretty wild!

Thousands of people have been watching a continuously streaming AI-generated episode of Seinfeld on Twitch since December 2022 and the dialogue is being created using ChatGPT. The show is called Nothing, Forever and it vaguely resembles the classic TV show but the dialogue is not the same.

Skyler Hartle, one of the shows creators, said that the show started off as a surreal art project, but generative media and generative AI just kind of took off in a crazy way over the past couple of years.

Hartle also said, As generative media gets better, we have this notion that at any point, youre gonna be able to turn on the future equivalent of Netflix and watch a show perpetually, nonstop as much as you want. You dont just have seven seasons of a show, you have seven hundred, or infinite seasons of a show that has fresh content whenever you want it.

The show has been a big hit and people have been tweeting all kinds of updates about it.

Would You Serve Your Father-In-Law To Keep The Peace? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

People all grow up in different environments and households, with all kinds of parents. When two people decide to get married, part of that merging of lives means navigating each others birth families.

This womans father-in-law has very traditional ideas of what roles men and women will play in the household, and typically, she and her husband dont really rock the boat too much if they can help it.

My husband and I (both 26) recently hosted a family dinner to announce our pregnancy, its important to add that my husband doesnt have a close relationship with his father, but we keep him around because he still has 3 minor siblings that we love and care for.

My FIL is the type of person that still thinks women should serve men at dining times (like, he has to be served first because hes the breadwinner and shit like that), we usually dont care since we mostly ignore them, however this time my family was present and we consider he f**ked around and found out.

At a recent family dinner, though, things came to a head because OP served her own father, who was injured, but told her father in law he could make his own plate.

My dad is my favorite person in the world, my mom died when I was little and my dad took care of my older sister and I, theyre the only family I have left, at dinner, both my husband and I cooked things we knew both of our families would like, the first issue started when my FIL tried to sit at one of the heads of the table and my husband said no, he sad at one and I sat at the other, me with my father and sister to either side and him with his brothers, so m FIL was kinda in the middle and didnt like it.

The second problem and the cause of all of this is that everyone was kinda serving themselves, however my dad has a damaged nerve on his right hand and he stru...

Lichens and the Meaning of Life "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

We are lichens on a grand scale.

Lichens and the Meaning of Life

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe, the great naturalist John Muir wrote in the middle of the nineteenth century. We forget that nature itself is one vast miracle transcending the reality of night and nothingness, the great naturalist Loren Eiseley wrote a century later as he considered the meaning of life. We forget that each one of us in his personal life repeats that miracle.

Because of this delicate interconnectedness of life across time, space, and being, any littlest fragment of the universe can become a lens on the miraculous whole. Sometimes, it is the humblest life-forms that best intimate the majesty of life itself.

Take, for instance, lichens.

Long-Exposure Photos Envelop Bonsai Trees With Streams of Bright Light "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Long-Exposure Photos Envelop Bonsai Trees With Streams of Bright Light

Long Exposure Photography of Bonsai Trees by Vitor Schietti

Photographer Vitor Schietti highlights the beauty of bonsai trees in his ongoing series Impermanent Sculptures. Featuring explosions of bright yellow light against a pitch-black background, these long-exposure portraits imbue familiar subjects with a sense of magic. The sparklers dance along the branches and leaves, illuminating the shape of each tree.

In the series of photographs, Schietti captures an array of unique bonsai trees with this method. The light painting is made over one single exposure or, in some cases, through overlaying several images. Trees are such majestic beings. It is not by accident that many cultures have the concept of a tree playing central roles in their creation myths, Scheitti tells My Modern Met. We acknowledge in this ancient form of life, the pioneers of the first cells to breathe sunlight. Trees absorb light so they can inspire us back with their resilience, playfulness, and elegance.

By using light in conjunction with the bonsai tree, Schietti attempts to emphasize the ephemerality of photographs while also celebrating the enduring power of nature. Even though bonsai trees are famously miniature, they are magnified in these intimate portrayals. The small scale representation of their grown natural counterparts allow my strokes of sparkles to reach further through the trees' shape, thus revealing something like its soul, the source of life, the pulsating energy that emanates through the universe, he continues.

You can purchase prints of Schietti's photography via his online shop, and keep up to date with his latest projects by following the artis...

Study Suggests That Early Retirement Can Cause Cognitive Decline

One of the many advantages of getting older is the prospect of retirement. Relaxing after years of hard work sounds well-deserved, and being able to take advantage of decades of savings sounds tranquil. But when, exactly, should you retire? The typical age ranges across the globe from the early to late 60s, and with life expectancy ranging upwards to the mid-80s worldwide, it makes sense to relish in many years of not working. A new study suggests, though, that early pension programs could have a negative impact, particularly on cognitive functioning.

Researchers Plamen Nikolov and Shahadath Hossaina focused their studies on a fairly new pension program in China that aimed to alleviate concerns of old-age poverty and deal with rising life expectancies. The program started in 2009 and encouraged people to retire soon after turning 60 by offering a stable income. Now, with over a decade of data, researchers are able to study the effects of this program.

Nikolov and Hossaina begin their research article by stating, Economists have mainly focused on human capital accumulation rather than on the causes and consequences of human capital depreciation in late adulthood. In other words, literature in economics, they claim, has historically made the formation of human capital (such as cognitive abilities, education, and health) a priority over the declination of human capital.

Studying how human capital depreciates over the life cycle has powerful economic consequences. Nikolov and Hossaina point out that elderly individuals make crucial and co...

Mom Offers To Pay People To Hang Out With Her Son Who Has Down Syndrome, Gets an Amazing Response "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Mom Offers To Pay People To Hang Out With Her Son Who Has Down Syndrome, Gets an Amazing Response

According to the CDC, in 2008 about 1 out of every 1,200 people living in the U.S. had Down syndrome. While inclusion and job opportunities have increased over the last decades, some people with this condition struggle to maintain a social life once they graduate from school. This was the case of Christian Bowers, a 24-year-old man from Missouri. After seeing him long for friends but not getting to hang with people his age, his mom, Donna Herter, came up with an idea. She'd offer $80 to men between the ages of 20 and 28 to visit him and play video games for a couple of hours twice a month.

Christian is a social bug and when we're in public, he'll invite anyone to join us, Herter said. That's why it broke her heart when he asked her, When are my friends coming over? She didn't know what to do or say.

Determined to fix the situation, Herter made a post on Facebook. Im looking for a young man, between the ages of 20-28 who would like to make some extra money. Two days a month for two hours, Ill pay you to be my sons friend, she wrote, explaining that Bowers doesnt have any friends his age.

Obviously he wont know you are getting paid, but that you are there for him those two days, she said, adding that getting paid wasn't optionalthe money was to guarantee that the person would show up.

Hoping to get one or two applicants among her feed, Herter went to bed. When she woke up, her post had been shared over 6,000 times, reaching people as far as Ireland and Japan. Her words resonated not only with fellow parents of special kids but people from all walks of life who wanted to be friends with Bowers.

In the end, their initial plan came true, and at least four young men visited Christian to play video games and watch movies. The best part? According to Herter, they all have declined the payment. On top of that, Christian's story has inspired more people to make him feel included. He spent Valentine's Day hanging out and eating snacks with a group of officers, whi...

Claire Took Her Talents for Writing and Passion for User Experience and Turned it into a Flourishing Career "IndyWatch Feed Education"

Meet Claire, a South Africa native learning from Kilkenny, Ireland. Claire has over 13 years of experience working in a SaaS environment as a multi-skilled Lead Technical Writer and Web Content Creator, but that was not always her chosen career path. Learn more about how Claire has used Coursera courses to help advance her skills in every phase of her career journey.

Hi Im Claire! Let me walk you through my diverse career journey. When I was younger, I had aspirations of teaching, so in university I majored in English and graduated with not only my Bachelors, but a Masters as well. I landed a job as a high school English teacher in South Africa. However, it wasnt fulfilling the desires I had for myself and my career. I decided to make a career switch into content writing and creation and landed a job as an Academic Content Creator. This combined my passion for copywriting, social media, and education.

After my contract was up for that role, I began looking for positions where I could write educational content in the technical field. I was lucky enough to land a job at Adobe, a massive software development company, as a Technical Content Lead. In that role, I created an online database, developed a content program for a beta cloud project, drafted UX proposals, and reported on analytics and content crawl in the Adobe Support Center. To better enhance my technical skills and customer support I enrolled in my first three courses on Coursera: Get Started with Empathy Mapping the User Experience in Miro, Introduction to HTML, and Foundations of User Experience (UX) Design by Google.

Through those courses, I learned how to better understand and empathize with the users experience (UX) and design web pages using HTML code.

In October of 2022, I left my secured contract role at Adobe for a full-time Lead Technical Writer position at Keelvar. Now I am rounding off my skills by completing even more courses:...

Why We Opened The Belgrade Bitcoin Hub "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

With a rich history and recent evolution, Belgrade is now home to the latest Bitcoin working and presentation space.

This is an opinion editorial by Plumski, a native of Serbia and founder of the Belgrade Bitcoin Hub.

What we now want is closer contact and better understanding between individuals and communities all over the earth, and the elimination of egoism and pride which is always prone to plunge the world into primeval barbarism and strife

Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla.

As Bitcoin adoption grows at an unprecedented rate for a new technology, Bitcoiners are setting up physical locations around the world where enthusiasts can work and play in group atmospheres.

For those of us taking part in this Bitcoin "Renaissance" period, it has been a great joy to watch the Bitcoin Beach success story in El Salvador that likely resulted in the country-wide adoption of bitcoin as legal tender. Since such projects are numerous in Africa, Central and South America, Bitcoiners living in Eastern Europe have watched these developments with intrigue. And added to that is the fact that Eastern Europe is economically underdeveloped compared to its Western European counterpart.

Inspired by what we saw in other parts of the world, a small group of Bitcoiners centered in the Serbian capital city of Belgrade recently opened a Bitcoin hub where we want to welcome visitors from around the world.

According to rumours from generally well-informed people, Boris Johnsons resignation honours list has been shrunk to 50 nominations from 100, and contains some of the worst peope ever to grace the UK political arena.

But dont worry, because it looks like the resignation honours list of 49-day PM Liz Truss is working on picking up the rest of them, so they wont feel left out.

Heres one of the probable future Peers of the Realm.

If the next government doesnt scrap the concept altogether, they should at least ban people from awarding honours if their time in office was outlasted by salad.

Heres how tweeters have been reacting.

The Biggest COVID Question: What Will Happen in 10 years? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

From Dr. Mercola:

Story at-a-glance

  • So far, children have been largely unfazed by COVID-19 because their interferon pathway works really well. Interferon is an immune molecule that protects cells against invading pathogens
  • The COVID jab inhibits the type-1 interferon pathway, so mass injecting young children may actually erase the natural herd immunity against COVID-19 that would develop if all children remained unjabbed
  • Aggressive cancers have exploded among adults who got the shots, even though its only been a little over two years since their rollout
  • Analysis of U.S. Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) data suggests the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is redesignating cancer deaths as COVID deaths to eliminate the cancer signal, and has been doing so since April 2021
  • Weve also seen massive increases in excess mortality from abnormal clotting issues and heart problems since the COVID shots rolled out. If side effects such as cancer, heart disease and stroke are killing working age adults in unprecedented numbers already, what will the excess mortality be, say, 10 years from now if children and teens keep getting mRNA boosters every year?
What will the future hold for people whose exposure to COVID-19 occurs during the first years of life? That question was recently asked by Katherine J. Wu, a staff writer at The Atlantic....

WhyAofA Editor-At-Large Mark Blaxill has updated his prevalence slides to reflect the 2023 announcement. The 11 slides are at the end of this post.

In New Autism Report, CDC Again Fails to Address Root Causes

One wonders how high autism spectrum disorder prevalence will climb before public policy moves beyond its current focus on equity toward addressing the root causes of the condition.

By Cynthia Nevison, Ph.D.

The newly released Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network report finds that autism spectrum disorder (ASD) prevalence in the U.S. has increased to 2.8%, or 1 in 36 U.S. children born in 2012 up from 1 in 44 from the previous report for children born in 2010.

Prevalence among 8-year-old boys was 4.3% nationwide and as high as 6.9% in California.

The policy focus of the new report is centered not around the increasing ASD rates, but rather around a social justice narrative in which disability issues take a back seat to the equity implications.

While the ADDM reports of the 2000s declared rising rates of ASD an urgent public health concern, the most recent reports have abandoned that messaging.

The new reports primary public health action recommendation is to develop enhanced infrastructure to provide equitable diagnostic, treatment, and support services for all children with ASD.

The CDC also released the Early Identification ADDM Report, focused on 4-year-ol...

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then if they cant kill you, they co-opt you.

Co-optation here refers to the process by which a powerful institution attempts to preserve its control by incorporating a popular element of a radical movement while burying the radical ideology of that movement.

Once again, the institution of psychiatry is in crisis and desperately seeking to excite a general public that is increasingly disenchanted by psychiatrys repeated failures. As I document in A Profession Without Reason (2022), psychiatrys treatment outcomes were acknowledged in 2011 by former National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) director Thomas Insel as abysmal and bleak. Since then, in 2021, the New York Times concluded that psychiatry had done little to improve the lives of the millions of people living with persistent mental distress. Almost every measure of our collective mental healthrates of suicide, anxiety, depression, addiction deaths, psychiatric prescription usewent the wrong direction, even as access to services expanded greatly.

Has psychiatry contributed anything positive to society? SSRI antidepressantspsychiatrys last heralded miracle drugare now known to create a far higher percentage of sexual dysfunction than to positively affect depression, with success rates no different or even lower than placebo rates. Psychiatrys serotonin imbalance theory of depression, discarded by researchers three decades ago, is now finally known to the world to have no merit; and psychiatrys attempt to gaslight the general public into believing that it is blameless for this theorys perpetuation has made it vulnerable to a potential class-action lawsuit. Psychiatrys DSM diagnostic manual has now been acknowledged even by high-ranking members of the psychiatry establishment to be invalid and even bullshit. The Open Payments database reveals 75% of psychiatrists are on the take from drug companies. And research shows psychiatrys idea that serious mental illness is a brain disease has resulted in a perception of greater dangerousness and a desire for social di...

Selco: Are You TRULY Adaptable Enough to Leave Everything Behind to Survive? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Get Selcos Original Course ONE YEAR IN HELL for just $69

People want definitive solutions, manuals that gonna help them step by step, lead them from point A to point B. It works in any field of life, so it works too in the field of survival.

It is one of the reasons why we as humans become more and more dependent on the system-we are simply got used to manuals, disclaimers, warnings, advisories and similar things.

It affects us in every aspect of life. It is not a problem right now to live by manuals, disclaimers, warnings, etc. The real problem is in fact that one day all those things will be gone when SHTF, and if you are really conditioned to live by it you are in deep problems then.

Books are written about bugging out or bugging in, and some of those books are good, but again, just like we are conditioned to follow manuals we are also conditioned to have OPINIONS and stick to it. So somehow it became modern to have an opinion about everything, and to stick hard to it, even more- to fight with people who have other opinions.

Bugging out, bugging in

Preppers usually choose prior SHTF are they gonna bug out or bug in when S hit the fan. And then based on that decision they put majority of their efforts into the direction and plan based are they bugging in or bugging out.

So, for example, people choose to bug out and most of their effort and money they invest in bug-out bags, vehicles, bug-out locations, planning their routes there, etc., etc.

Or people who plan to bug in invest all effort in reinforcing home, basement, stash or whatever. It seems that we forget that SHTF is by definition most probably going to be something unexpected, and it is going to force us to alter our plans.

Altering and adapting

Altering and adapting are words that preppers put for their profile pictures on prep forums, or patches on survival uniforms, logos and similar. Those words are everywhere in survival and prepping world, it is like every prepper is completely and absolutely ready to adapt, and still, somehow I have a feeling that many of us gonna die simply because, for example, they are not willing to walk long distances, stay without AC, be without favorite food and similar.

Altering and adapting are big words when it comes to survival, they are hardcore words. Now take into consideration here my words from the beginning of the article  -that we are conditioned to follow orders, man....

Record Shop Releases Attack Dogs Whenever Customer Looks Up Discogs Prices In Store "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

PITTSBURGH Owner of the Sound Spynners record shop Dale Randly once again released a pack of vicious dogs on shoppers who compared their prices to Discogs in order to potentially flip them for a profit, several chewed-up sources report.

One would think that the price of feeding and all the responsibilities of keeping a pack of giant, blood-thirsty dogs would be burdensome, but whenever I see the look of terror in the eyes of would-be record flippers, its all worth it, Randly explained while mopping up drops of blood in front of his stores new arrivals section. Sure, if youre only looking up a price on Discogs or eBay to see if you can get a cheaper copy, by all means, go ahead! But just think to yourself, what is my time worth? and how good is my insurance anyway? Just be aware that once you hear those vicious barks, youre basically toast already.

David Grunwald was shopping at Sound Spynners when he dared to quickly glance at his phone after noticing all the rare punk records that had just come in the store.

I was flipping through records and noticed an original pressing of The Exploiteds Troops of Tomorrow for $45, said Grunwald while being getting stitches and being treated for multiple fractures in his wrist. I thought that seemed a little steep, so I pulled up Discogs and before the page even loaded I was ripped to the ground by angry dogs. I thought I was going to die right then and there. Thanks to my curiosity Im spending all my cash on reconstructive ass surgery. From now on, Im leaving my phone in the car when I go record shopping.

Head of Walden Security Services Damarcus Walden gave a little insight into the unknown world of record store security.

Believe it or not, these record shops are some of our biggest clients, Walden said. A lot of these owners just want to prevent customers from doing all the annoying shit customers at a record shop do. One of our top-of-the-line ejector seats, the SendEm 2000, jettisons whoever is being too rough with the listening stations stylus through the ceiling and basically into the stratosphere. You dont want to know what Ive done to people that intentionally put records in the wrong slots so they can come back for them later.

At press time, Sound Spynners implemented a policy in which shoppers who touch vinyl with their greasy fingers will have said fingers met with a dull cigar cutter.

Man Suspects Girlfriend Faking Mushroom Peak "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

ABERDEEN, Wash. Local psilocybin enthusiast Justin Reeves grew suspicious of his partners over-the-top reaction to peaking on psychedelic mushrooms, sources reported.

Ive seen better acting in local car commercials, said Reeves, referring to the last time he tripped on mushrooms with his girlfriend, Denise Ashcroft. There was so much oohing and ahhing that people from neighboring campsites told us to keep it down. I didnt think much of it when she complimented my hat even though I wasnt wearing one, but when she started crying because she heard an ants heartbeat, I knew I was dealing with an actress.

When Reeves realized Ashcroft peaked in 45 minutes, a record in comparison to his previous two girlfriends who both took hours, he was particularly skeptical.

Yeah I faked it, said Ashcroft. I figured the faster I pretended to peak the sooner it would be over with. I didnt even eat the mushrooms. I pretended to chew them the way you fake chew in front of a baby who wont eat their dinner and then put them in my pocket so I could take them alone later. I should feel bad, but its hard to feel anything but seething anger when your partner asks are you peaking yet every six minutes while Starship Troopers plays on repeat.

There are many reasons women fake mushroom peaks, but unless your partner flat-out admits to it, its usually impossible to prove.

No two peaks are going to look exactly alike, said Steven Vetter, a self-described psychedelic researcher. The movies will make you think that all couples peak at the same time, but thats just Hollywood. In reality, many women find it easier to peak alone or even with a group of random strangers than with their own partner. Many of my clients have confided in me theyve faked complete ego deaths, but reported the experience still felt good even though they didnt peak.

At press time, Ashcroft was seen acquiescing to Reeves by pretending indica made her sleepy so she could roll on her side and stare at her phone.

Opinion: I Believe In Traditional American Values, Which Is Why I Make My Kids Read the Bible at Gunpoint "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

If history has shown us anything, its that America best exhibits its core values when done by force. The woke liberal industrial complex trying to turn our kids gay or worse, tolerant of other viewpoints, poses an existential threat to our, by which I mean my, way of life. Its up to parents to ensure their right to instill the Christian values that make this country great. Thats why when my kids read the bible, I always make sure theres a loaded gun trained on them.

Thankfully I live in a state where guns are prized off at church bingo night, cue the AR-15 that I keep trained on my children during mandatory bible study. And before any of you snowflakes cry about putting a gun in my kids faces, I always keep the safety on. Oh, wait okay, NOW the safety is on.

I love what our founding fathers did to lay the groundwork for this great nation. But who I love even more are their predecessors the Puritans, who absolutely got it right with enforcing Christianity to the point where theyd set you on fire the moment you strayed from the flock. Couple that enthusiasm for Christ with the 2nd Amendment and youd be surprised how well you can make a child memorize Leviticus front to back.
I want my kids to grow up to be upstanding citizens with a strong belief in their faith, and Ive found the most effective way for them to accept God in their lives is to threaten them to meet God. As the old saying goes, spare the rifle, spoil the child.

If anything, Im getting them ready for real world situations, like how they could be minding their own business, and someone barges in with a rifle and starts indiscriminately firing. Oh sure, my children like to bellyache about wanting to play with other kids and have tried to escape our home numerous times. I dont blame them, what with those hedonistic, secular delights out there like gun free zones and movies without Kevin Sorbo in them. But they eventually come around ever since I installed the sniper tower at the end of the driveway.

I dont care how many of my neighbors accuse me of child abuse or that my own church tells me Jesus wouldnt condone my behavior. I want my kids to know that so long as they believe every word of the Bible is true, I wont pull the trigger. Unless they dont stand for the flag.

8 Bands Who Made Their Money and Then Fucked Off and Did Weird Shit For the Rest of Their Careers "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Evolving as an artist is something every musician must struggle with in order to be fulfilled in their creative identity. Well, every musician except these 8 that is who made sure they got paid and spent the rest of their time fucking about like drunk toddlers. The Mamas and the Papas

Country Bear Jamboree

Its not often reported in history books as it ruins a bit of the romance of their sacrifice, but just moments before this string quartet did one last run of the classics as the Titanic went down, they pre-showed by robbing a bunch of first-class cabins and stuffing their pockets with expensive blue jewelry. Many historians believe this added weight is what held them down as they slowly sank beneath the waves.

Deconstructing Ancient Art Through Geometry "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

While often overlooked, there is abundant evidence of the intentional use of geometry in the composition of traditional arts, crafts and architecture. This was often accomplished through the use of regular polygons -frequently concentric- to establish proportional systems within a composition.

These associations can create a feeling of unity within the work by harmonizing its disparate elements of form, decoration and purpose. Polygonal composition also allowed the incorporation of number and shape symbolism associated with religion, mythology, culture and the organization of society, within a work of art.

This presentation will reveal the appearance of regular polygons found within round (tondo) creations from across the ancient world. Through many examples well see how polygonal shapes, patterns and proportions have been applied to harmonize the elements of great painting, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, architecture and more across a variety of cultures and centuries.

Michael S. Schneider is an American author, educator, and speaker who has written several books on sacred geometry, including The Beginners Guide to Constructing the Universe: The Mathematical Archetypes of Nature, Art, and Science. He has also given many talks and workshops on the subject, and is considered an expert in the field. Schneiders work explores the mathematical and geometric principles that underlie the structure of the universe, and how these principles are expressed in art, architecture, and other areas of human creativity. His approach is interdisciplinary, drawing on insights from science, mathematics, art, and spirituality to provide a holistic understanding of the role of geometry in human culture.

Here he has deconstructed illustrations in ancient art through the use of polygonal geometry.

Its almost impossible to find art from the ancient world that is not done with intentional harmonious proportion Michael Schneider

He Turned Away a Friend From His Birthday Dinner Because He Didnt RSVP. Is He a Jerk? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

You RSVP or you dont show up.

Thats how the world works, right?

Well, at least some of the time

So did this guy act like an a**hole when he turned a friend away from his birthday dinner for not RSVPing?

Take a look at this story and let us know what you think in the comments.

AITA for turning away a friend after he showed up to my birthday dinner without RSVPing?

I had a birthday dinner this weekend.

A week before the dinner I sent a mass text out to eight of my friends telling them the location date and time and to let me know by a certain date if they are coming so I can make a reservation at a hibachi place.

Most people said they could come, one friend said they couldnt make it and another friend never responded. A couple days later I was talking to one of the friends I invite about the dinner and they said they thought the friend who didnt answer was coming but they werent sure.

I said that he needs to RSVP so I have the girrest head count for the reservation. I never heard from the friend who didnt respond so I made the reservation accordingly.

I should add that before I made the reservation I texted in the mass text chain with last chance to RSVP Im making the reservation at this time today.

The day of my dinner, the friend who didnt respond showed up right as the hostess was asking for the name of the reservation. I told her that we had an extra person show up and I apologised. She looked to see if she could place all of us but was unable to find a place to accommodate an extra person without us having to wait 2 hours.

So I told the friend who didnt RSVP that he could not join us for dinner. He got mad and told me I was a bad friend. He told me it was embarrassing to be turned away f...

Top Female Cyclist Quits Sport over Transgender Athletes: I Lose No Matter How Hard I Train "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By David Hawkins, A top female cyclist has announced that shes quitting her sport after being forced to compete against biological male transgender athletes. Hannah Arensman, a 35-time winner on the national cyclocross circuit, issued a heartbreaking statement in an amicus brief filed to the Supreme Court over the sports transgender policy. She revealed that she has been forced to end her career as it has become impossible to beat men who are competing as women. She wrote: I was born into a family of athletes. Encouraged by my parents and siblings, I competed in sports from a young age, and I followed in my sisters footsteps, climbing the ranks to become an elite cyclocross racer. Over the past few years, I have had to race directly with male cyclists in womens events. As this has become more of a reality, it has become increasingly discouraging to train as hard as I do only to have to lose to a man with the unfair advantage of an androgenized body that intrinsically gives him an obvious advantage over me, no matter how hard I train. I have decided to end my cycling career, she said. At my last race at the recent UCI Cyclocross National Championships in the elite womens category in December 2022, I came in 4th place, flanked on either side by male riders awarded 3rd and 5th places. My sister and family sobbed as they watched a man finish in front of me, having witnessed several physical interactions with him throughout the race. Additionally, it is difficult for me to think about the very real possibility I was overlooked for an international selection on the US team at Cyclocross Worlds in February 2023 because of a male competitor. Moving forward, I feel for young girls learning to compete and who are growing up in a day when they no longer have a fair chance at being the new record holders and champions in cycling because men want to compete in our division. I have felt deeply angered, disappointed, overlooked, and humiliated that the...

6 Common Dream Meanings That Should Never Be Ignored "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Our dreams are the gateway to our subconscious, and because we are the creators of our dreams (without even realizing it) our dreams tend to tell us what is brewing beneath the surface. For quite some time, psychologists have understood that the symbology in our dreams directly correlates to what our subconscious mind is trying to tell us.

I have always found dreams to be interesting, not just because its simply beyond understanding as to how amazing it is that we can astral travel in our slumber as a means of working ourselves out. If you dont believe me, below I will go over a few different dreams, what they mean, and why you should NEVER ignore them.

1. Being chased.

Being chased is a common dream and for good reason. Dream experts believe that when you are being chased in a dream, it is likely you are avoiding facing something in your life. It could be that you are buying your emotions, or that you are feeling as though you are getting behind in life. Put simply, something in your life is catching up to you and you are terrified everything is about to blow up. This means that it is time to face the things you are avoiding head-on before things go awry.

2. Taking an exam.

I have had this dream over and over throughout my life and it has always left me feeling super anxious. According to experts, this is a sign that you may be afraid of living up to certain expectations you are holding for yourself or that others are holding for you. It might be time to readjust your expectations and the expectations of others.

3. Dreaming of death.

When you are dreaming of death, it is a sign you are giving too much of yourself and feels unappreciated or as though your efforts are draining you dry. This is a sign of mental exhaustion and a major indicator to reassess how much energy you are putting into certain situations, places, or things.

4. Dreaming of an ex.

When you dream of an ex, this is because you are missing some aspect of how they made you feel. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU NEED TO GO BACK. What it does mean, is that if you are with someone new, you may be feeling neglected or as though your needs are unmet. You may even subconsciously know that your new person isnt right for you.

5. Missing teeth.

When you are missing teeth in a dream, this is a fear of losing your ability to take care of yourself. Deep down, this dream is rooted in a fear of losing stability, losing your means to take care of yourself and nourish yourself. The reason I say this is that our teeth help us to chew our food. In our instincts, we associate our teeth with our ability to sustain ourselves and survive. You likely feel like you are on the verge of not being able to take care of your own needs. Or, it may be a loss of feeling independence in your own life.

6. Being naked.

Dreaming of being naked is rooted in a fear of being seen. There may be parts of yo...

6 Ways To Respond to Your Childs Mistakes in a Positive Way "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Mistakes are an inevitable part of life, and learning how to respond positively to our childrens mistakes is essential for fostering a healthy parent-child relationship. By approaching these situations with understanding and empathy, parents can help their children develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset. In this article, we will explore six ways to respond to your childs mistakes in a positive and constructive manner.

Empathize with their feelings

When your child makes a mistake, its important to acknowledge their feelings and let them know that its okay to feel upset or disappointed. Validate their emotions and let them know that everyone makes mistakes, and its a natural part of learning and growing. By empathizing with their feelings, you create a safe space for them to process their emotions and move forward.

Avoid blame and criticism

Criticizing or blaming your child for their mistakes can be counterproductive and may lead to feelings of shame and guilt. Instead, focus on the situation and what can be learned from it. Encourage your child to reflect on their actions and consider what they might do differently next time.

Help them understand the consequences

Rather than dwelling on the mistake itself, help your child understand the natural consequences of their actions. This approach allows them to learn from their mistakes and recognize the impact of their choices. Guide them through the process of identifying the consequences and brainstorming ways to rectify the situation or make amends if necessary.

Encourage problem-solving

When faced with a mistake, its essential to foster problem-solving skills in your child. Instead of simply fixing the problem for them, work together to find solutions and encourage them to take an active role in resolving the issue. This collaborative approach empowers your child to take responsibility for their actions and develops their ability to navigate challenges independently.

Praise their efforts and resilience

Recognize and praise your childs efforts to rectify their mistakes and bounce back from setbacks. By focusing on their resilience and determination, you help them develop a growth mindset and foster the belief that they can overcome obstacles and learn from their experiences.

Share your own mistakes

Sharing stories of your own mistakes and the lessons youve learned can help normalize the experience for your child and demonstrate that everyone makes errors. By showing your vulnerability and openness, you can create a supportive environment where your child feels comfortable discussing their challenges and learning from their experiences.

Responding positively to your childs mistakes is crucial for their emotional well-being and personal growth. By empathizing with their feelings, avoiding blame, and encouraging...

7 Risks Of Threatening Your Child With Consequences "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Parenting is a challenging and complex journey, filled with the responsibility of shaping and guiding young minds. While discipline is an essential part of child-rearing, the manner in which it is implemented can have a significant impact on a childs emotional and psychological well-being. Threatening children with consequences is a common disciplinary approach, but it may lead to unintended negative outcomes. This article will explore the risks associated with threatening your child with consequences and suggest alternative approaches to foster a healthier parent-child relationship.

Fear-based parenting

Threatening consequences often instills fear in children, leading them to comply with rules and expectations out of fear of punishment rather than understanding the rationale behind them. This fear-based parenting style can impede a childs ability to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Eroding trust

Consistently threatening consequences can damage the trust between parent and child, making it difficult for the child to feel secure and supported. Children may begin to view their parents as adversaries rather than allies, leading to an unhealthy dynamic within the family.

Increased anxiety

Children who experience ongoing threats of consequences may develop heightened anxiety levels, fearing the potential repercussions of their actions. This constant state of worry can lead to long-term mental health issues, such as generalized anxiety disorder or even depression.

Strained communication

When children are frequently threatened with consequences, open and honest communication can become compromised. Children may be hesitant to share their feelings or discuss challenging situations, fearing that they will be met with threats instead of understanding and support.

Rebellion

Ironically, the excessive use of threats may result in children becoming more defiant and rebellious. This resistance can stem from their desire to assert their independence and control in the face of a perceived authoritarian parenting style.

Impaired self-esteem

Repeated threats can erode a childs self-esteem, leading them to believe that they are incapable of making good decisions or that they are inherently flawed. This negative self-image can have lasting consequences on their overall well-being and success in various aspects of life.

Poor problem-solving skills

Relying on threats as a disciplinary measure can hinder a childs development of effective problem-solving skills. Instead of learning how to navigate challenges independently and effectively, children may become dependent on external control and guidance.

Alternative Approaches to Discipline

To foster a healthier parent-child relationship and promote emotional well-being, consider implementing the following alternative approaches to discipline:

5 Common Relationship Habits That Destroy Your Relationship "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

It is a common misconception that if two perfect people meet, then it should be easy, that things will fall into place and no matter what happens, the relationship will last. However, no matter how perfect your relationship may seem, if your relationship habits are counterproductive, even the best relationship can come to an end.

At the end of the day, it is our habits that make or break our relationships. Of course, some habits stand out above the rest and are what we would refer to as relationship killers. These relationship killers may seem like normal things, however, with the statistics taken into consideration, it is likely best to not just accept behaviors as normal because what is normal isnt always working.

With that said, here are 5 common relationship habits that destroy relationships.

1. Holding your partner in contempt.

According to the Gottman Institute, founded by John Gottman and his wife, who has researched the topic of love for decades, contempt is the number one relationship killer. An example of contempt, is when one partner is constantly degrading or undermining their partner. They may passive aggressive remarks or otherwise make statements that would have you believe they hate their partner.

2. Refusing to work on yourself and grow.

No person is easy to deal with, and I am sorry if you think that you are, because we all have our difficulties. At the end of the day, if you are blaming everything on your partner and refusing to see your part in the relationship, this can make it very hard to resolve issues.

3. Dishonesty.

Dishonesty destroys relationships. While a lie can be moved past in some cases, when lying becomes consistent, making it hard to decipher truth from fiction, it will destroy the trust. If the trust is destroyed, if it can be mended, it will take time.

4. Lack of trust.

Trust is fundamental to relationships. Without it, partners can become obsessive to the point of pushing each other way and at the end of the day, it can get downright toxic.

5. Lack of support.

Relationships are supposed to be two people on a team, cheering the other on, and pushing their partner to achieve their goals. When one partner or both are unable to do that, due to several reasons, its a bad sign that this is going to end in a bad way.

10 Things You Say To Children That Can Cause Eating Disorders "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Eating disorders are complex and multifaceted mental health conditions that often develop during childhood or adolescence. The factors contributing to their development can range from genetic predisposition to environmental influences. One of the most significant environmental factors that can contribute to the development of eating disorders is the way parents and caregivers communicate with their children about food, body image, and weight. This article will highlight 10 common phrases or comments that, when said to children, can contribute to the development of eating disorders.

Youre not leaving the table until you finish your plate.

Forcing children to finish their meal can lead to an unhealthy relationship with food, as they may start to associate eating with punishment or guilt. Instead, encourage children to listen to their bodies and eat until they feel satisfied, not stuffed.

Youll get fat if you keep eating like that.

Labeling food as good or bad and associating it with weight gain can instill fear and guilt in children, potentially leading to disordered eating habits. Teach children about the importance of balanced meals and moderation, without using weight gain as a scare tactic.

You should go on a diet.

Encouraging dieting, especially at a young age, can set children up for a lifetime of yo-yo dieting and an unhealthy relationship with food. Instead of promoting diets, focus on teaching children about proper nutrition, portion control, and the importance of physical activity for overall health.

You have such a pretty face; if only you lost some weight.

This type of comment implies that a childs worth is tied to their appearance, which can lead to body dissatisfaction and a heightened risk of developing an eating disorder. Encourage self-love and body acceptance, regardless of size or shape.

Youve gained some weight; are you okay?

Weight fluctuations are normal for growing children, and making a big deal out of them can create anxiety and lead to disordered eating. Instead of focusing on weight, ask about their overall well-being, including physical and emotional health.

Your sibling is so thin and fit; you should be more like them.

Comparing children to their siblings or peers can create feelings of inadequacy and competition, leading to the development of unhealthy eating habits. Celebrate each childs unique qualities and strengths instead.

Dont eat that; its bad for you.

Labeling certain foods as bad or off-limits can lead to binge eating and feelings of guilt when those foods are consumed. Encourage a balanced and varied diet, emphasizing the concept of moderation and the enjoyment of occasional treats without guilt....

Trump Rot at the EPA "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

A new report by the EPAs internal watchdog has exposed Trump administration appointees that meddled in the agencys science to weaken the toxicity assessment of PFASs. If not for the Biden administration, which discovered this egregious complicity by political appointees and the chemical industry to weaken standards of toxicity, Americans would be unnecessarily exposed to dangerous chemicals beyond the abhorrent levels of exposure already extant.

Shortly after taking the oath of office, Trump grabbed a baseball bat and waddled over to EPA, eviscerating the agency created under President Richard Nixons administration in 1970 to protect the country from too much toxicity and carefree abuse/dumping anything and everything into the environment, e.g., Lake Erie considered a dead lake in the 1960s.

Trump chased many EPA senior scientists out, some fled to France. The nations top environmental agency is still reeling from the exodus of more than 1,200 scientists and policy experts during the Trump administration. (Depleted Under Trump, a Traumatized E.P.A. Struggles With its Mission, New York Times, Jan. 23, 2023)

As research continues to expose the dangers of PFASs, its become the new symbol of toxicity in America. A recent study by Environmental Working Group scientists uncovered disturbing levels of PFASs in Americas freshwater fish found throughout the country from coast-to-coast. Every citizen of America is already subject to exposure to this dangerous chemical that Trump wanted to let loose beyond established principles of science on the public.

According to numerous studies, PFASs accumulate in human tissue, showing up years later potentially as testicular, kidney, or pancreatic cancer, weakened immune systems, decreased fertility, endocrine disruption, elevated cholesterol, increased risk of asthma, thyroid disease, and puzzling weight gain.  PFAS chemicals have contaminated drinking water for nearly one-half of Americas population. American cases of chronic illnesses at nearly 50% of the general population support that fact.

According to the EPA: PFAS are a group of manufactured chemicals that have been us.........

Italian Ghost Town Converted to Residence "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

Thirty-five years ago, Barbara Vareses family began buying abandoned homes in a tiny Italian hamlet, and today she has united all of them into a maze of bedrooms, ancient kitchens, hidden stairways, and converted stables. When the family first began purchasing the properties, many hadnt been lived in for years, so they were just fragments of houses they had to rebuild, but they used as much of the old stone and wood as possible, knocking down walls between buildings to connect everything with hallways and stairs.

When the Vareses first started buying here, there were only two residents of the village of Oretto Italo and Renata and when they died their homes were purchased to complete the village-wide labyrinth. Even the old wooden barn and stone stables were converted into a banquet hall and lounge, respectively.

MTVs The Exhibit Is Back With an Inflatable Dolphin "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

I wasnt even a minute and a half into episode four of MTVs The Exhibit: Finding the Next Great Artist when artist Jillian Mayer acknowledged that even though this was a competition, she has a lot of friends on the show whom she described as a sweet group of talented creatives. With only two episodes to go, even the magic of friendship cannot revive the shows fading heartbeat as the competing artists addressed the themes of justice and injustice in this weeks round.

Honestly speaking, this has been the most lifeless episode so far, and that surprised me considering a number of the competing artists personal practices tackle intersectionality and minority perspectives. I think what made it so yawn-worthy was the fact that I havent seen any growth or inventiveness from the artists thus far (save for Jamaal Barber, whom Ill get to later), but instead a stagnant reliance on existing skills, knowledge, and canons to win the $100,000 prize and an exhibition at the Hirshhorn. Its just becoming painful to sit through another episode knowing exactly what each artist is going to create before their studio time even starts.

A Secret Device That can Look Backward Into the Past? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Recently a clergyman serving at the Vatican made a discovery. Deep in the archives hidden below the ground levels a strange instrument exists. A device that can look into the past and produce images. Described as the Chronovisor, somehow it has remained hush and spoken of little though it has been in existence for hundreds of years. The Monsignor who viewed it and glanced back into the past claimed to have seen images of Jesus on the way to his crucifixion. He wanted to make the truth known about this device, but was reprimanded and an effort to see that this bizarre instrument remains under wraps resulted.

Can looks be deceiving?

There have been many allegations that there are photos of time travelers in historic pictures or even in routine photographs going back into the 19th Century, odd looking people not fitting into the rest of the crowd wearing futuristic apparel and even possessing what appears to be a cell phone. However, with the use of editing software such as Photo Shop almost anything can be faked with little chance of hiding the process. From Miami in 1966 comes the story of a little boy who finds an apparent crystalline device that shows futuristic visions on its small screen. The story is picked up by the local paper with no follow up at all. It may also have been mentioned in local TV news coverage as well. So an amazing discovery quickly fades away, but the question is, did the US government confiscate the device? Well never know for sure.

When heat or electricity is applied to mercury it is known to rotate clockwise in the northern hemisphere with bizarre conductive characteristics. Like so many other secret weapons and aircraft being developed by the Nazis in some desperate way of overcoming the overwhelming odds of the allies winning the war, Die Glocke was yet another mysterious design and question mark over the science the Germans acquired that allowed for such incredible developments.

Florida Principal Ousted Over Pornographic Michelangelo Sculpture "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A Florida principal has resigned under pressure from the school board after three parents complained that an art teacher had shown Michelangelos statue of the biblical shepherd David (15011504) to their 11- and 12-year-old sixth-graders. One parent even said the famous artwork was pornographic. The art teachers lesson was part of the curriculums mandatory unit on Renaissance art.

Now the Board Chair of the Tallahassee Classical School a public and free charter institution is using the resignation as an opportunity to advocate for parents rights, a conservative talking point that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis codified with the 2021 Parents Bill of Rights.

Parents Purchase 2 Container Homes For Teenage Daughters To Live In Backyard "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Living with teenagers can be a struggle because while your teen likely wants independence, you also want to make sure they are close by. One family found a really amazing solution to this problem that likely make inspire you.

Matt and Linda are from Henderson, Nevada. They have three children, and as their kids began to grow into teens, they began to understand that their kids needed more privacy and also their own space. After looking and looking, they did finally stumble upon a home that they loved, however, there was one issue: there simply was not enough space for each of their kids to have their own room.

Of course, the home did have a huge backyard, which lead the parents to a solution that was completely unique. Instead of ditching their dream home, they decided to purchase some small container homes that would fit perfectly in their backyard. In their minds, they could one day house their elderly parents or even rent the spaces for some extra cash when their daughters went to university.

Matts favorite part was that his daughters would still live at home while having their own space. It gives our teenage daughters some autonomy and some space but [theyre] still in the backyard.

The one drawback was that this was not the cheapest solution because the container homes they chose were 116,000 Euros (131,000 USD.) Of course, what tiny house isnt complete without some furnishing, so they spent around 8,000 euros to furnish it. Each container home included a huge, open living room, kitchenette, bathroom, and bedroom that can fit a double bed.

Each kitchenette includes its own fridge and microwave. Additionally, they each had a television and a corner couch that serves as a guest bed. In order to share their story with the world, Matt and Linda started a YouTube page, called Tiny House Giant Journey. Since airing the clip they posted about their daughters living situation, the couple has gotten over 1.5 million views!

7 Ways to Keep Your Kids Honest "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

As parents, we all have values that we wish to instill in our children because we want them to turn into good humans. One of those important values, at least in my household, is honesty.

Lets face it: kids tend to tell lies as they reach those years in which they realize they can. They do it for a number of reasons, including to avoid getting in trouble or to get what they want. When your child tells you a lie and you figure it out, it can be disheartening. However, your response to their lie can make all the difference in the world. If you want to help your child become honest, its important that you make honesty a focus. Here are 7 ways to do that.

1. Model honesty.

If you want to raise honest children, then you have to be honest, too. Why? At the end of the day, you can tell your child to do whatever you wish, but kids pay attention to what we do and how we speak. Ultimately, they pay attention to our actions more so than our words.

2. Do not set them up.

It might be tempting to set your child up to lie. However, when you do this, you are basically encouraging them to lie and then reprimanding them for it. Ultimately, this sends the wrong message.

3. Reward truth.

Make sure that you praise them when you see them telling the truth. Humans, kids especially, learn through praise and reward. So, if you honor honesty, then make sure you notice it when it is present.

4. Make honesty a positive focus.

While your kids are young, make sure they realize that honesty is an important value to you and your family. Of course, be age-appropriate, however, when the subject of lying and honesty comes up, explain how lying breaks trust.

5. Avoid labeling.

When you notice your child lying, do not label them as a liar. Their behavior might be lying, but your kids are not their behavior. When you put a label on your child, they might decide to live up to it.

6. Do not reward lies.

Do not reward lies. As soon as you realize your child is lying, you need to address the behavior.

7. Give consequences.

Make sure that there are always consequences for lying. It is best to already have a consequence in mind, so there is no thought about what will happen because they will already know. Then, as soon as you notice the behavior, you need to consistently enforce consequences.

Media changes fast. From wax cylinders to disc records to cassette tapes and CDs to MP3 files and streamingthe ways we enjoy music have changed a lot since the late 19th century. Since the 1950s, record discs made of polyvinyl chloride have preserved the melodies of everyone from Elvis and Little Richard to The Beatles and Donna Summer. However, in the late 1980s, cassette tapes and CDs chipped away at the records primacy as the most sold musical format. While streaming is the music format of choice of today, vinyl has had a sort of resurgence. In fact, sales of vinyl records have surpassed that of CDs for the first time since 1987. This rise in vinyls popularity is due in part to young consumers embrace of the nostalgic medium.

According to the Recording Industry Association of Americas (RIAA) annual revenue report, vinyl records sold 41 million units last year compared to 33 million CDs. Vinyl has been on the rebound for about 15 years; but in the last few, sales have skyrocketed. Vinyl sales increased by 17% since 2021, whereas CD sales dropped 18%. Similar trends have been recorded in recent years in the UK, Germany, Japan, and other countries. While Dad's old vinyl is still just as cool, modern albums are selling vinyl as well. Taylor Swift's records sold 1.7 million copies last year, while Harry Styles reached 719,000.

The RIAA found that streaming totaled 84% of total music revenue in 2022a shocking high of $13.3 billion. Download sales, however, are falling out of popularity, dropping to only $495 million in sales. Vinyl's resurgence in popularity cannot be attributed to convenience like the rise of streaming. Instead, it speaks to a preference among many music lovers for the unique sound captured by records....

Every Misfits Album Ranked "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Misfits are one of the most recognizable bands of all time. Not many other groups combined Elvis-inspired crooning and punk with the macabre, and invented an infamous haircut thats business on the sides and party down the front of your face. Even their crimson ghost logo is so ubiquitous that youll see it on toddler onesies, dog bandanas, and apparel for people whove never even heard of them. Hey, we dont judge. But we will judge their studio albums. Here goes.

7. The Devils Rain (2011)

Its not Danzig era. Its not even Graves era. This is Jerry Only singing. Like lead singing. Sure, there are some bright spots if you look close enough, but overall it feels the band. Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein isnt even on it. Misfits are usually at their best when there are at least two devilock hairstyles in the group at a time.

Play it again: Once is enough.
Skip it: Death Ray (Its the last song on their last studio album and its last ranked. Bad sign.)

6. Project 1950 (2003)

The first appearance of Only-era Misfits came in the form of this collection of covers. It also features Marky Ramone on drums and Dez Cadena of Black Flag on guitar, so its barely a Misfits lineup. Itd be like if Krist Novoselic recorded a new Nirvana album with the drummer of Pearl Jam and guitarist from Soundgarden and acted as if it was business as usual. Doesnt sit right.

Play it again: Monster Mash (Probably makes sense they covered this one at some point.)
Skip it: Diana or Donna (Cant remember which. Maybe both just to be safe.)
