Hyperrealistic Oil Paintings Explore What We Hide and Share "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Hyperrealistic Oil Paintings Explore What We Hide and Share

Paintings of a Person Covering Their Face With Hands by Tigran Tsitoghdzyan

Since the introduction of social media, there has been more New York-based artist Tigran Tsitoghdzyan explores this phenomenon in his ongoing series of hyperrealistic portraits, titled Mirror. Rendered in a limited grayscale color palette, these paintings depict different women covering their faces with their hands. Except, rather than hiding their features, we are able to see through their hands.

Tsitoghdzyan was inspired to embark on this series after seeing the rise of selfies among young people, particularly younger women. The filters became so popular that many girls can't imagine posting a selfie unfiltered, he tells My Modern Met. The cellphone cameras even have algorithms and recognize the selfie through a filter on your face. The young generation doesn't like camera pictures anymore as they are so used to seeing themselves through their phone.

This idea of what people filtered and embellished on their faces led Tsitoghdzyan to Mirror. Each of these black and white paintings focuses on the head of an individual, which has been blown up to an extremely large scale of at least 7 feet, and sometimes bigger. Using traditional techniques, Tsitoghdzyan portrays each figure in an idealized wayhiding the texture of their skin, and enhancing their makeup where necessary so they seem naturally perfect. Covering the face with your hands is the most natural movement we do to hide anything since our childhood, but I still wanted to see the faces throughquestioning what we hide and what we share, he explains.

Scroll down to see more of Tsitoghdzyan's paintings and keep up to date with his latest projects by following the artist on Instagram.

How to Connect in a Civilization of Disconnection "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

According to Jon Young, deeply wise about our ancestral practices, the job of a culture is to support meaningful connection. This is what traditional cultures do. They connect community members to ancestors, to future generations, and to the natural world. Individuals are connected to their deeper evolved nature and to one another.

What does it mean to be connected? Connection is about sharing our deeper selves, our beingness, with one another. We are fully present emotionally and mentally. We tune into our species evolved capacities for attunement to the world.

According to Jon, western civilization is a disconnection machine, disconnecting us from ourselves, from one another, and from Nature. The dominant civilization shuts down the individual self, thwarting its development and its connectedness. The dominant civilization focuses on the conscious mind and alienates it from the deeper self. Disconnectedness from self is accompanied by disconnection from others. After all, we find ourselves in our relationships with others.

Jon Young learned humanitys deep ways of connecting that have been practices for hundreds of thousands of years among our cousins, the San of the Kalahari, whose ancestors are all of our ancestors. They still practice ways of living and being that match up with our deeper human propensities. You could say that they still know and apply the software th...

An Astounding Composite of 90,000 Images Unveils the Suns Hidden Atmosphere "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A composite image of the sun

All images Andrew McCarthy and Jason Guenzel, shared with permission

Astrophotographers Andrew McCarthy (previously) and Jason Guenzel recently teamed up to create a staggering look at the sun that showcases the textured, fiery details of its atmosphere. Comprised of more than 90,000 individual images, Fusion of Helios showcases the usually invisible solar corona, the outermost layer that tends to be hidden by the suns powerful glare. To get a scientifically plausible look at it, we used NASAs SOHO data as a reference to geometrically transform Jasons 2017 eclipse photo to match the features, McCarthy shares. The result is a blend of science and art, and my favorite piece of work Ive been a part of.

Jets of plasma known as spicules appear like wispy fibers cloaking the suns surface, while a tall column shoots from the upper right. This solar eruption, which McCarthy likens to a tornado, stretches the same height as 14 planet Earths as it rapidly swirls and sheds balls of plasma the size of the moon.

Check out a video of the twister-like phenomenon on Instagram, and find prints of Fusion of Helios in both McCarthys and Guenzels shops. (via...

Benefits of Using a Altcoin Tracking Tool "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Cryptocurrency has taken the world by storm, and its popularity continues to grow. With more and more people investing in altcoins, its important to stay on top of your investments and track them effectively. This is where altcoin tracking tools come in. These tools provide a range of benefits that can help you keep a close eye on your crypto assets and make informed decisions. From real-time market data to portfolio management features, cryptocurrency tracking tools can give you the edge you need to succeed in this fast-paced industry. In this article, well explore the many benefits of using a cryptocurrency tracking tool and how it can help you take your investments to the next level. So, whether youre a seasoned investor or just starting out, read on to discover why an altcoin tracking tool should be part of your investment strategy.

Real-time Tracking of Cryptocurrency Prices

One of the significant advantages of using a cryptocurrency tracking tool is the ability to monitor real-time prices of various cryptocurrencies. The prices of cryptocurrencies can be volatile and change rapidly, making it difficult to keep track of the market. With a tracking tool, you can stay up-to-date with the latest price movements of your favorite cryptocurrencies. These tools provide real-time data on the market, which allows you to make informed decisions about buying or selling your digital assets.

Apart from real-time data, cryptocurrency tracking tools also provide historical data that can help you track price trends over time. By analyzing price trends, you can predict future market movements and make more informed investment decisions. For instance, if you notice that the price of a particular cryptocurrency has been consistently rising over the last few months, you may want to consider investing in it.

In summary, real-time tracking of cryptocurrency prices is an essential feature of any cryptocurrency tracking tool. It provides you with the necessary data to make informed investment decisions and stay ahead of the market.

Portfolio Management

Another significant benefit of using a cryptocurrency tracking tool is the ability to manage your crypto portfolio effectively. These tools provide various features that can help you keep track of your investments and make adjustments as needed. For instance, you can add all your cryptocurrencies to the tracking tool and monitor their performance in real-time.

Portfolio management features also allow you to track your profits and losses. By tracking your profits and losses, you can see which cryptocurrencies are performing well and which ones are not. This information can help you make informed decisions about buying or selling your digital assets.

Another essential portfolio management feature is the ability to set investment goals. You can set targets for the amount of profit you want to make or the percentage increase you want to s...

Margot Paez On Mitigating Climate Change, The Progressive Perspective And Bitcoins Representation Problem "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Environmentalist Margot Paez describes her own Bitcoin journey and how inclusivity is not mere woke ideology.

As Bitcoiners, we often repeat the mantra Bitcoin fixes this and truly, it does solve many problems. The issue with this phrase is not whether Bitcoin fixes things, but asking, for whom? If we find ourselves in an echo chamber, then were gatekeeping the benefits of Bitcoin and what it can do for everyone.

Margot Paez is a brilliant environmentalist and an outspoken Bitcoiner. Paez received masters degrees in physics and ethnomusicology and is currently finishing a PhD in civil engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She has proven to be one of the MVPs in Bitcoin due to her extensive research on the intersection of Bitcoin mining and energy usage. She continues to generously give her time and resources to provide an intricate framework for influencing bipartisan Bitcoin policy.

Paez delivers a unique perspective that is unmatched in the Bitcoin space. In October 2022, Paez spoke on a panel appropriately titled, Can Bitcoin Help Save The Planet? at the U.K. Bitcoin Conference in Scotland. Not only did she contribute jaw-dropping facts related to Bitcoin mining and the environment, but she did so in a way that was eloquent and accessible. She is a passionate Bitcoiner in a community where various subcultures can, at times, obscure important truths. Paez does an incredible job at helping to make Bitcoin for everyone.

She and I had the opportunity to discuss a few hot topics, such as Bitcoin mining and energy consumption, whether Bitcoin is truly as bad as many progressives think it is and whether or not there is a male-dominated skew in Bitcoin.

How did you first learn about Bitcoin and what specifically drew you to it?

I first learned about Bitcoin in the early 2010. It was either a Slashdot post or when WikiLeaks decided to use Bitcoin after (Julian) Assange was shut out of the banking system. There were Bitcoiners at the Audit The Fed rally that happened at Occupy Los Angeles. There were two things from that event that I remember. First, someone had a Bitcoin sticker on their belongings, which I photographed, and second, people burning dollar bills, which I also filmed.

Occupy brought people from many different backgrounds together through their mutual hatred of the banks. Sometime before 2014, I actually tried mining bitcoin, but really didn't get the point and thought it was just another random, open-source project. I was interested in hardware and mesh networks at the time and didn't think there was much more to money than some people not having enough of it.

This all changed in 2018 when I saw content creators being deplatformed. Some were creators who I was sympathetic toward and o...

WEF Insider Admits Silicon Valley Bank Crash Is a Great Reset Scam "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

From newspunch.com: A World Economic Forum insider has been caught boasting that the Silicon Valley Bank crash was an orchestrated plot that went to plan perfectly and the crash will have a domino effect on the banking industry, leading to a global financial meltdown.
Its been a crazy few days for the banking industry. Specifically, for Silicon Valley Bank and its shareholders, as it went from supposedly stable and solvent, to closed down by the regulators in the space of just over 24 hours. And it appears the domino effect has begun already, with Signature Bank in New York closed by regulators citing systemic risk.
Anyone who thinks the SV Bank collapse was a coincidence has not been paying attention to the details. The hidden hands at work here have left their fingerprints all over this one. And when it comes to this amount of money, there are no coincidences. Meet Joseph Gentile, an executive at SV Bank. Do you know where Joseph Gentile worked before he was at Silicon Valley Bank? He was the chief financial officer at Lehmann Brothers, which was the largest bank to crash in US history.

A Medieval Arabic Manuscript Features the Designs for a Perpetual Flute and Other Ingenious Mechanical Devices "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In the late twelfth and early thirteenth century there lived a mechanically inclined polymath named Badi al-Zaman Abu-l-Izz Ibn Ismail Ibn al-Razzaz al-Jazari, whom we might prefer simply to call Al-Jazari. A resident of Diyar-Bakir, in modern-day Turkey, he was employed as a court engineer, and indeed, proved to be the finest engineer for which a Mesopotamian ruler of that era could hope. He worked out a variety of functional camshafts, crankshafts, pumps, fountains, and clocks, not to mention his more ambitious designs, including a host of humanoid automata meant to handle tasks like serving beverages and even playing music.

Lying between the practical and the fanciful are such Al-Jazarian inventions as the perpetual flute, a diagram of which you can see at the site of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Involving two adjacent tanks, each with a plug attached to a chain, the setup would work when the pipe on an axle with a bowl fills with water from a channel at the upper right and tips so that water flows into one tank. The air in the tank is thus forced through a pipe attached to a jar that plays a flute until the tank is filled. Then the pipe tilts to fill the other tank with water, causing the other flute to play. Like a pre-modern Rube Goldberg, Al-Jazari created mechanical concepts that are better seen than explained, and you&...

Pulp Fiction will likely hold up generations from now, but the resonance of its title may already be lost to history. Pulp magazines, or the pulps, as they were called, once held special significance for lovers of adventure stories, detective and science fiction, and horror and fantasy. Acquiring the name from the cheap paper on which they were printed, pulp magazines might be said, in large part, to have shaped the pop culture of our contemporary world, publishing respected authors like H.G. Wells and Jules Verne and many an unknown newcomer, some of whom became household names (in certain houses), like Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Philip K. Dick.

Beginning in the late 19th century, the pulps opened up the publishing space that became flooded with comic books and popular novels like those of Stephen King and Michael Crichton in the latter half of the twentieth century.

Man Wants to Know if Hes Wrong for Being Mad at His Parents After They Falsely Accused His Brother of Stealing "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

To let it go, or not to let it go

That is the question

And this guy wants to know if hes wrong for not letting his parents forget what they accused his brother of.

Lets see what went down and if this kid is taking things too far.

AITA for refusing to let it go after my parents falsely accused my brother of stealing from their house?

I have an older half-brother Rory (we share the same dad), I live with my mum and step dad. Rory comes to see me regularly and we usually go out together. Im 15, Rory is 24 and I have two step sisters (11 and 9).

A few months ago some valuable items were stolen from our house. Some jewellery, my step dads expensive watches and some cash. They immediately accused Rory of doing it and banned me from seeing him or talking to him. I defended Rory and I was grounded as a result.

The accusation was false because that day Rory picked me up outside and never came in but they didnt believe me and accused me of lying to protect him. The police had no reason to believe it was my brother and they didnt even consider him a suspect.

About two weeks ago the thief was found out as he did the same thing at a relatives house and they had security cameras and eventually confessed to stealing from us as well. It obviously was not Rory. It was my step dads nephew who had somehow copied his key without him noticing and used it to break in when nobody was home.

Im angry about all of this and I asked them to apologise to both me and Rory for their false accusations which my mum said shes happy to do but my step dad said no and told me I just have to learn to move on. Later that day I reminded him to be extra careful about his keys when he visits his relati...

People Who Swear Often Are Better Friends With More Intelligence, According To Science "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Swearing, once considered taboo and offensive, has been gradually gaining acceptance in the mainstream. And it seems that theres more to this linguistic phenomenon than meets the eye. Recent scientific research suggests that people who swear frequently are not only more intelligent but also make better friends. In this article, we delve into the fascinating world of profanity and examine the science behind these claims.

The Smarter Swearer: The Connection Between Intelligence and Profanity

Contrary to the common misconception that swearing is indicative of a limited vocabulary or poor education, studies have shown that individuals who swear often actually possess a higher level of intelligence. In a 2016 study published in the journal Language Sciences, researchers found that people who were proficient in swearing had a larger overall vocabulary and better verbal fluency.

This may be attributed to the fact that swearing is a form of linguistic expression, and individuals who have a rich understanding of language are better equipped to utilize this expressive tool. Moreover, swearing can also be a creative means to convey emotions, thoughts, and ideas that might not be adequately expressed through conventional language.

The Loyal Swearer: Why Profanity Can Be a Sign of a Better Friend

The same uninhibited nature that leads people to swear more frequently also contributes to the development of stronger friendships. People who are comfortable using profanity tend to be more genuine, authentic, and less likely to put up a faade. This honesty and openness foster trust and create a solid foundation for deep, lasting friendships.

In a 2017 study published in the Journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science, researchers discovered a positive correlation between the use of profanity and honesty. The study concluded that individuals who swear more often are less likely to engage in deceptive behaviors, making them more reliable and trustworthy friends.

Another factor that makes frequent swearers better friends is their ability to express and handle strong emotions. Swearing can act as an emotional release valve, enabling people to vent frustration or anger in a more controlled manner. This emotional intelligence allows them to navigate the complexities of interpersonal relationships with greater ease and understanding.

Moreover, people who swear openly are often perceived as more relatable and approachable. Their use of colloquial language and informal expressions can make others feel more comfortable and foster a sense of camaraderie.

While its essential to be mindful of ones language and its potential impact on others, its time to challenge the notion that swearing is inherently negative or indicative of a lack of intelligence. The science is clear: people who swear frequently are not only smarter but also make better...

The Strongest Women Often Come From A Troubled Childhood "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

The link between adversity in childhood and the development of resilience and strength later in life has been the subject of numerous studies. Research suggests that women who have faced challenges during their formative years may emerge stronger and more resilient, transforming their experiences into assets. This article explores the science behind this phenomenon and highlights the potential for growth and personal development that can arise from a troubled childhood.

The Role of Adversity in Building Resilience

Resilience is the ability to adapt and cope with adversity, trauma, or significant sources of stress. Studies have shown that exposure to adversity in childhood can lead to the development of greater resilience later in life, as individuals learn to navigate hardships and find ways to overcome obstacles. This resilience can manifest in various forms, such as emotional intelligence, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Post-Traumatic Growth

The concept of post-traumatic growth refers to the positive psychological changes that can occur following a traumatic event or difficult experience. Through facing adversity, individuals often develop a greater appreciation for life, improved relationships, increased personal strength, and a more profound sense of spirituality. Research suggests that women who have experienced challenging childhoods may be more likely to experience post-traumatic growth, using their past experiences to foster personal development and well-being.

Building Emotional Intelligence

A troubled childhood can force individuals to develop emotional intelligence at an early age. Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, understand, and manage ones own emotions and the emotions of others. Women who have faced adversity in their formative years often become adept at navigating complex emotional landscapes and may develop strong empathetic abilities, allowing them to form deep connections and understanding of others.

The Importance of Support Systems

One of the key factors in overcoming a troubled childhood and cultivating resilience is the presence of a strong support system. Mentors, teachers, friends, or family members can provide the necessary guidance and encouragement to help individuals navigate through difficult times. By building a network of support, women who have faced adversity can find the resources and strength needed to overcome challenges and foster personal growth.

Harnessing Adversity for Success

Many successful women have harnessed the lessons learned from their troubled childhoods to fuel their determination and drive. By channeling their experiences into a sense of purpose and motivation, these women often exhibit a strong work ethic, passion, and tenacity. This mindset allows them to persevere in the face of obstacles and to achieve their goals despite the setbacks they may encounter.

The first card we touch down with is The Chariot. This is a Major Arcana card and the seventh stop on the Fools Journey. The Major Arcana are the 22 cards in tarot that follow the journey of the Fool.

This journey depicts the cycle of ups and downs from birth to enlightenment and back to birth. If tarot cards are signs on the road of life, the Major Arcana cards are the flashing billboards.

They have a loud message and speak to a significant moment in your life. It is either a major realization, an important turning point, or a leveling up of some kind. They represent a serious shift in the journey to becoming your higher self.

In the Fools journey, The Chariot represents taking charge of your life. It is about showing up as your full self, building your strength, and taking risks.

The Chariot is not afraid to live the life that they want. They are no longer held back by what others think or the burden of doing what they are supposed to do. They know that life is too short and they have decided to go for it.

A specific way this can show up with the Chariot is through travel or expanding our world. The card calls us to life-affirming movement and action.

Ask yourself: What are ways you can embody The Chariots energy? Is there a dream you can start planning and saving for? What does your spirit call to you? Where does your heart want you to go?

Take time this week to think about these questions. Write down the places you are called to go and how you could get there. Think practically about the steps needed and when would be the best time.

Focus on the ways you can build up your foundation. Take care of your body and mind, get your house in order, spend time looking at your finances. These things will help make you feel strong and organized. From this place, your plans will seem less like a fantasy and more like a reality.

The Chariot is not just about imagining but actually putting your dreams into action. The four pillars of the chariot cart point to a solid foundation. They show us that building a strong base in ourselves can be our launching pad to take flight.

Our second card this week is the Queen of Swords. She is a warrior that has overcome obstacles through the force of her courage. This card works as a catalyst for The Chariot bec...

The Top 3 Habits of Highly Successful Parents "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Parenting is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in life. There are countless ways to approach raising children, but some habits have consistently shown to contribute to successful parenting. In this article, well explore the top three habits of highly successful parents, which can help foster a strong foundation for their childrens growth and development.

  1. Effective Communication

The first habit of highly successful parents is effective communication. Clear and open communication is crucial for building a strong parent-child relationship. It enables parents to understand their childrens needs, feelings, and thoughts, while also allowing them to express their expectations and values.

Successful parents:

  • Actively listen to their children, ensuring they feel heard and understood.
  • Encourage open and honest conversations about emotions, thoughts, and experiences.
  • Use age-appropriate language and explanations, adjusting their communication style as their children grow and develop.
  • Foster a safe environment for their children to express their feelings and opinions without fear of judgment or punishment.
  1. Consistency and Structure

Consistency and structure are essential for creating a stable and predictable environment for children. Highly successful parents understand the importance of routines and boundaries, as they help children develop a sense of security and self-discipline.

Successful parents:

  • Establish and maintain consistent routines, including regular mealtimes, bedtimes, and family activities.
  • Set clear expectations and consequences, ensuring that children understand the rules and boundaries within the household.
  • Follow through with consequences when rules are broken, reinforcing the importance of responsibility and accountability.
  • Provide a balance between structure and flexibility, allowing for spontaneity and adaptability when needed.
  1. Leading by Example

Highly successful parents recognize that they are their childrens primary role models. They understand that their actions and behaviors have a lasting impact on their childrens values and beliefs. By leading by example, parents can instill a strong sense of integrity, resilience, and empathy in their children.

Successful parents:

  • Demonstrate the importance of hard work, perseverance, and dedication in their own lives, inspiring their children to strive for their goals.
  • Exhibit strong emotional intelligence, managing their emotions and reactions in a healthy and constructive manner.
  • Practice empathy and compassion, teaching their children the value of understanding and respecting others feelings and perspectives.

6 Things I Wish I Would Have Known Before I Lost 100 Pounds "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

As someone whos gone through a life-changing weight loss journey, shedding 100 pounds off my body, Ive had my fair share of trials and tribulations. In hindsight, there were several things I wish I had known beforehand that could have made the process smoother and more enjoyable. Here are six things that I believe are worth sharing with anyone whos considering embarking on their own weight loss journey.

  1. Theres No One-Size-Fits-All Solution

When I first started, I tried various diets and exercise routines, only to find that what worked for others didnt necessarily work for me. Weight loss is a highly individual process, and its essential to experiment and find a plan that suits your body, lifestyle, and preferences. Be open to trying different methods and remember that its perfectly okay to change course if something isnt working for you.

  1. Patience and Consistency Are Key

Weight loss doesnt happen overnight. At the beginning of my journey, I expected rapid results, but I quickly realized that sustainable weight loss takes time. Stay consistent in your efforts, and dont be disheartened by slow progress. Focus on building healthy habits and creating a sustainable lifestyle change rather than obsessing over the number on the scale. Remember, its about progress, not perfection.

  1. Plateaus Are Inevitable, and Thats Okay

During my weight loss journey, I encountered several plateaus where my weight just wouldnt budge. Its important to know that this is normal and not a sign of failure. When faced with a plateau, re-evaluate your approach and consider making small adjustments to your diet or exercise routine. Dont let plateaus discourage you; theyre just another part of the journey.

  1. Emotional and Mental Changes Are Just as Important as Physical Ones

I wish I had known how important it is to address emotional and mental well-being alongside physical health. Our relationship with food, body image, and self-worth play significant roles in weight loss success. Be prepared to confront and work through emotional triggers that may have contributed to your weight gain. Seeking professional help or joining a support group can be incredibly beneficial in this regard.

  1. The Importance of a Strong Support System

Surrounding yourself with positive, supportive people is crucial during your weight loss journey. I had my ups and downs, and having a support system helped me stay motivated and focused. Friends, family, or even online communities can provide the encouragement and advice you need to stay on track. Dont be afraid to lean on others and share your experiences, as this can make a world of difference in your journey.

Feds Using Banking Crisis To Usher In Central Bank Digital Currency, Experts Warn "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Brenda Baletti, Ph.D., Experts warn that recent bank failures and the stabilization measures taken by the Federal Reserve and Wall Street are creating even greater bank consolidation which could further pave the way for a central bank digital currency. A few weeks after the second-largest bank failure in American history ignited uncertainty throughout the global economy, experts warn bank failures and the stabilization measures taken by the Federal Reserve and Wall Street are creating even greater bank consolidation and might further pave the way for a central bank digital currency (CBDC). Silicon Valley Banks (SVB) collapse earlier this month led to the collapse of Signature Bank, the voluntary closing of Silvergate Bank and the takeover of all three banks by the FDIC. In response, top credit rating agency Moodys lowered the outlook for the entire U.S. banking system to negative...

Allen Willie, Andrew Paul, Maurice Justin: Tortured and frozen to death (L)
Vicky Stewart, beaten to death (R)
The word is said so easily, so casually, so lifelessly: Genocide. The word means nothing to most people. To the rest, it is little more than the self-serving rhetoric of politicians and popes. But when I hear the word, I hear the tortured screams of little children that never stop, day or night. I see a Vancouver Island priest electrocuting a five-year-old boy with a cattle prod until he dies, his body tossed onto a pile of other small corpses and then buried in a secret grave barely a mile from where I would work one day. I smell the sickly scent of burning flesh as other dead children and even living, newborn babies are incinerated in the Christian death camp furnaces that burn day and night. I watch as children are made blind in deadly experiments and others have their teeth yanked out without painkillers by upstanding Canadian doctors. I see other children battered and raped and left to starve to death by men and women who sing Christian hymns the next Sunday in church. I watch as Harry Wilson shows me the scar on his tongue through which United Church minister John Andrews shoved a needle when a young Harry spoke of the dead girl he found. I witness a lone and stumbling survivor named William Combes, too crushed to speak publicly of his tortures but somehow willing himself to, against every odd, even as the world hates him for it and finall...

How Long Is Too Long To Wait To Tell Your Fiancee Youre Pregnant? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

For many couples, seeing those two little lines that mean a baby is on the way is one of the happiest moments of their lives. They find out together, or the soon-to-be mom cant wait to find the cutest/best way to let her partner know.

For others, though, its not happy or exciting news, and telling the other person is something that causes anxiety or even fear.

OP is engaged, and when she found out she was pregnant, she wasnt happy about it. She suspected her partner wouldnt be, either, and his sister (her best friend) agreed.

I decided to keep my pregnancy to myself because I dont know what Im going to do about it and I knew my fianc wasnt going to be happy with the news.

My future sister-in-law/best friend is the only other person who knew as I only took the test at her suggestion and at her house.

She also agreed that her brother was unlikely to be happy about it but she felt like I should tell him immediately anyway.

Still, the best friend thought her brother deserved to know, and gave OP a certain amount of time to relay the news.

We kept arguing over it because I told her I needed time to process it and she felt like I was making excuses to avoid telling him. In the end, she told him herself while we were having dinner with their family. He was so upset he confronted me in front of everybody so now they all know and everybody is upset with me for keeping it from him.

His sister kept trying to reach out and apologise after it happened but I was ignoring her as her only excuse was that he was her brother so she couldnt keep it from him and that she gave me 3 weeks to tell him myself.

When she didnt, OPs friend told her brother and all h*$l broke loose.

The last time she called me I was so upset that I answered and...

They Managed to Mess Up an Art Heist Movie "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Few things are sexier than an art heist. This fact, and my natural fondness for parodies of the contemporary art world, made the plot of Inside (2023) sound practically mouthwatering: In Vasilis Katsoupiss directorial debut, Willem Dafoe stars as Nemo, a thief whose plan to rob the collection of a multimillionaire backfires spectacularly when he finds himself trapped in an empty Manhattan penthouse. The film seemed poised to deliver on its tacit promise of unmasking the cruel emptiness of beautiful objects, and I was prepared to devour it like an expensive, truffle-laced canap at a VIP-only museum opening. Instead, I found myself cringing at Insides tragically forced attempt to capture white-cube gallery ennui a failure of imagination that haunts so much media premised on romanticized perceptions of visual arts mystique.

The film begins with Nemo recalling his response when he was asked, as a child, which three things he would salvage from a fire: his cat, his sketchbook, and an AC/DC album. My cat died,...

Ten Painful Stories of the Dutch Colonial Slave Trade "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

In 1646, Joo Mina, an enslaved sugar plantation worker from West Africa in what was then Portuguese Brazil, fled to Dutch Brazil, where the Dutch West India Company interrogated him to try to get intelligence that would give them leverage over Portugal. He also happens to share my last name not by choice but by force, and we never learn his birth name. Joo Mina is a cousin not by blood or marriage but by colonization. And while I am not aware of slavery in my specific Filipino ancestry, Spaniards practiced it across the archipelago. Textured Histories at Shiprock Santa Fe "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

SANTA FE, N. Mex. The New Mexico sun pours through big arched windows at Shiprock Santa Fe, illuminating Navajo weavings, some of which date back to the early 19th century, others made by living artists. The gallery carries a renowned collection of textiles and jewelry, representing the deep connection to creating that exists in Din culture.

At the helm of Shiprock Santa Fe is curator and owner Jed Foutz. He grew up in Shiprock, New Mexico, on the Navajo reservation where his family owned trading posts for five generations, starting around 1870.

Shiprock Santa Fe is really reflective of where Im from, Foutz told Hyperallergic. The curation is very spontaneous; its a constant refinement. We have to be moved and feel a connection and some beauty. If you have respect and love for the items, it naturally creates something around it. Hopefully, it tells a story.

Before Foutz started Shiprock Santa Fe in 2005, he worked with artists, helping to get their works into galleries and shops. When I was wholesaling, my job was you make it and I will find a place for it. His role as a facilitator is something that influences the ethos at Shiprock Santa Fe, which aims to help artists become independent rather than keeping them tied to the gallery. Some of the contemporary artists that Shiprock currently works with include ceramicist...

Hokusais Great Wave Makes a Splash at Auction "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

The iconic Japanese woodblock print The Great Wave (18301832) broke records at auction when it sold for nearly $2.8 million on Tuesday, March 21. Christies had originally set the price estimate between $500,000 and $700,000. The prints final selling price was higher than that of any previously auctioned Hokusai piece.

Created by master engraver Katsushika Hokusai and formally titled Under the Wave off Kanagawa, the print Christies auctioned was one of the highest-quality versions in circulation not already acquired by a museum. This early impression featured sharp lines in the rolling waves and clear demarcations between the sky and cloud formations.

Its officially Spring in North America but the entire world is now entering into a new season under the influence of Aquarius.  Lots of water in the form of rain, hail and snow have helped clear the stagnant energies of the past. No doubt, some of you are feeling the urge to conduct spring cleaning in your home to help the energies flow and make way for new and better things.  The same can be applied to your personal healing by flushing out the old traumas of the past to make way for healing. Some times that requires a bit of help! The realization that we are more than our physical bodies sits at the core of our awakening. Elevation into a higher state of awareness invites even more epiphanies and healing,  Now more than ever, methods of accelerating growth and ascension flow into our life.  Learning that our consciousness progresses through many realms and incarnations is central to this awakening as well. Past Life Regression is among the most powerful tools today to catalyze healing of mind body & spirit.  Originating in antiquity of ancient Egypt and Greece, this process offers an experience affirming an appreciation of our eternal beingness and energetic nature.  As a mode of healing, it touches on the emotional, physical, and spiritual.  In the upcoming session, we will conduct a guided group past life regression where you are guided to journey within, to another time, another place where theres information to help you with a healing goal of your choosing. The time we spend together will be a healthy sampling of what takes place during a full 1-on-1 session.  We may even take advantage of the deep connection to our Subconscious at that time to re-wire our mind into more empowering attitudes, practices, and releasing significant beliefs that have held us back.  We will also strive to enhance our intuition and connection to our higher consciousness as we journey through the trance state....

18 People Declare What Makes You Seem Pretentious "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

No one wants to be seen as pretentiousexcept maybe people who are pretentious on purpose, which is a whole other post.

If youre a normal person who wants to appear friendly and down-to-earth, thereby making friends and not annoying people, here are 18 actions youll want to avoid.

18. Just twice.

My cousin who rolls every r on a word that she says in Spanish, like burrito, but not other words with two Rs.

Shes been to Puerto Rico twice.

17. No, I dont.

Asks the question Do you know who I am? Hate those f**kin a$$holes.

No I dont, and you dont know me either.

16. Or its gross.

When someone says, You must not have a sophisticated palate if you dont like a food that person likes.

15. Skeevy for sure.

Having someone take a picture of you giving money to the homeless.

14. That grand intersection.

Luxury clothing with the brands logo all over it.

That glorious place where pretentious and trashy intersect.

13. Name dropping.

They keep claiming they know so and so famous and wealthy people.

12. This seems very specific.

Intentionally including the words Business Class part of your ticket in your strategically staged photo at the airport.

Table shot with wine glass and ticket showing. Oh I LOVE this wine!

11. Both of these.

Disrespecting people who work in professions you deem to be easy or in the service industry.

15 People Over 40 Share Their Secret To Happiness "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Theres no one secret to happiness, and theres no life thats happy front to back, either. Its impossible at least if you live one thats long enough to be satisfying.

That said, there are some people who reach middle age and are happier than others, so whats their secret?

If youre curious, these 15 people can tell you whats worked for them!

15. The only ones you get.

Take care of your teeth. This is the only set youre ever going to have and you dont want to neglect them and mess them up like I did. Ive got crap tons of fillings which dont last forever and need replacement. A filling isnt as good as the real thing and filled teeth can break, requiring crowns. I have two and it sucks.

Brush and floss thoroughly every single day without exception. Hell, get an electric toothbrush. See the dentist regularly. Ditch the sugary drinks.

14. A book of poems.

Dont fall for the trap that your life needs to be one long narrative that you should be building. Life is best when its a bunch of happy moments that just happen to be connected.

Dont try to make your life into a novel, make it a book of poems.

13. You can always turn around.

I was a raging alcoholic in my twenties and thought I would never recover from it. I never found a real job using my first degree or my masters. Part of it was because I was always drunk, part of it was the job market at the time.

I went back to school in my thirties and found something I like a whole lot more. Now, Im married, nearly ten years sober, and have a great job.

My point is, if you end up on the wrong path or don...

Earthen Building Regains Popularity in Hungary "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

Long derided as old-fashioned symbols of grinding poverty, mud and straw houses are making a comeback in Hungary as a low-cost, eco-friendly alternative to concrete. Master builder Janos Gaspar, who renovates earth houses, says, Im booked up for three years. Interest is sky-high. He has built more than 200 clay houses.

Locally accessible materials is the basis of what architect Adam Bihari calls natural architecture. Hungarians knew how to build houses from what they had to hand or under their feet, said Bihari as a clay brick wall was plastered with mud. This wall was made 100 years ago, and should be around for another 100.

With Gaspar, Bihari teaches his methods to scores of trainees every year. In the yard beside piles of sandy earth and straw, a dozen watched Gaspar demonstrate how to make mud bricks. This type of soil is perfect, and its found everywhere around Hungary, said Gaspar as a cement mixer churned the ingredients. You can make one brick a minute, and around 20,000 will make a house, he told the group while kneading handfuls of the mixture into a wooden mold.

The centuries-old practice fell out of fashion during the countrys four-decade-long communist era. Folk traditions were officially frowned upon and modern materials took over, said Bihari.

More than one in seven Hungarians still live in earth-built homes, mostly in villages in poorer regions. Bihari said it is hard to counter long-held associations with damp and poverty.

Clays thermal properties make it ideal for Hungarys fluctuating climate of hot summers and cold winters. One of the camp participants who already owns a clay house but wants to learn how to renovate it, said her building is naturally warm in winter and cool in summer. Amazed visitors ask us where the air conditioning is, but there is none, she said.

Earth homes also regulate their own hum...

Wood and Resin Coffee Tables Look Like Koi Ponds Come to Life

Epoxy Resin Koi Fish Coffee Pond

This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase, My Modern Met may earn an affiliate commission. Please read our disclosure for more info.

Visiting a koi pond is often a tranquil experience. While you may think that this requires venturing outdoors to experience it, EpoxyMiniStore captures the beauty of these elaborate water gardens in their exquisite epoxy resin furniture. The Vietnam-based maker produces a range of unique coffee tables that combine wood with resin to mimic the appearance of koi pond habitats.

From afar, it's easy to mistake these handmade pieces for real life. The resin is molded in such a way that it easily resembles water, whether it is still, rippling, or cascading down a small waterfall. Each of the koi is painted by hand in hyperrealistic detail which makes it seem as though a real fish is swimming underneath. As a result, the clear part of the coffee table looks like it contains the typical things you would find in a koi pond, while the wood is often manipulated to mimic natural rock formations.

All of EpoxyMiniStore's creations are a striking sight, easily fooling the eye into thinking that the water and fish are actually moving on the coffee table. When incorporated into the home, they surely bring some of the quiet beauty of nature to the indoors. And while most of these unique coffee tables come from EpoxyMiniStore's own creative vision, however, they also work with clients to produce custom-made furniture.

You can find available epoxy resin coffee tables via EpoxyMiniStore's Etsy shop.

Interactive Exhibition Celebrates Spring With Shape-Shifting Graphics of Beautiful Blooms

TeamLab Exhibition in Fukuoka That is Celebrating Spring

Springtime in Japan is known for spectacular cherry blossoms. While these are visible in real life between March and April, art collective teamLab creates annual immersive exhibitions that capture the beauty of these delicate pink flowers through amazing digital graphics. Hosted at teamLab Forest Fukuoka, this year's experience promises even more visual wonders with the addition of holographic animals.

As you move through the different rooms of the museum, you encounter a variety of images featuring blooms and creatures. When you touch the walls or approach these computer-generated animations, the elements changeflowers bloom, disperse, and more. No matter where your attention turns to in the museum, you will find that the graphics are constantly changing. The sakura installation belongs to the museum's larger exhibit, titled Shifting Valley, Living Creatures of Flowers, Symbiotic Livesa Whoe year per Year.

For 2023, teamLab has also incorporated life-size animal animations, which take form on March 24 (a couple of weeks into the exhibit). Kangaroos, giraffes, flamingos, and leopards can be seen traversing the ever-changing digital landscape, and you'll even be able to use your smartphones to capture these colorful visuals. Like the flowers, these animals do not keep still and will move or change according to how the audience interacts with the space.

Adults can purchase tickets for the exhibition for 1,600 yen ($12) during the week, and 1,800 yen (about $13.35) during weekends.

Dandelion-Like Fairy Robots Can Help Fill the Gap of Declining Pollinator Populations "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Dandelion-Like Fairy Robots Can Help Fill the Gap of Declining Pollinator Populations

FAIRY robot from Hao Zeng and Jianfeng Yang

Photo: Jianfeng Yang/Tampere University

The declining populations of pollinators across the globe are of great concern. As the backbone of fertilization and an important foundation of the ecosystem, scientists have come up with incredible solutions to preserve their lives. In Europe, bus stops have become pollinator pit stops. In Japan, tiny water shrines serve as bee respites. But what if pollinator populations are declining too much? A team of scientists from Tampere University in Finland has a possible solution.

The university's Light Robots is a group focused on robots that respond to light and are also lightweight. It honed in on stimuli-responsive polymers. Group leader and Academy Research Fellow Hao Zeng states, The development of stimuli-responsive polymers has brought about a wealth of material-related opportunities for next-generation small-scale, wirelessly controlled soft-bodied robots. He goes on to say that these special polymers have been used to make tiny robots walk, swim, and jump, but none have successfully used them to make robots flyuntil now.

Zeng and Jianfeng Yang have created a new dandelion-inspired design for their project called FAIRY, or Flying Aero-robots based on Light Responsive Materials Assembly. This polymer-assembly robot can fly by wind and is controlled by light. Superior to its natural counterparts, this artificial seed is equipped with a soft actuator, explains Zeng. The actuator is made of light-responsive liquid crystalline elastomer, which induces opening or closing actions of the bristles upon...

Empowerment Over Fear: Bitcoin, Home Birth And Responsible Sovereignty "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

I've gained a lot of sovereignty through Bitcoin, and I'm equally grateful that my partner has done the same by choosing home birth.

This is an opinion editorial by Conor Chepenik, an organizer for the Mass Adoption Bitcoin meetup and the father of a child who was born at home.

When my partner initially mentioned a home birth for our first child, I didnt give it much thought. As a man, I had limited knowledge of what childbirth entailed. For my whole life, it seemed like common knowledge that giving birth in the hospital is just what you do because its safe. Luckily, my partner didnt trust common knowledge, she went and verified for herself.

Did you know that in 2021, cesarean deliveries accounted for 32.1% of live births in the United States? I was taken aback when I learned that. One third of women were not having natural births in one of the wealthiest countries in the world?

I also learned that inducing women early is common practice in a hospital. It is usually done when there is a concern for the mother's or baby's health, but elective labor induction is also often performed for convenience. Labor induction carries various risks, including failed induction, low fetal heart rate, infection, uterine rupture and increased bleeding after delivery.

Furthermore, epidurals containing fentanyl have been known to cause difficulties in babies latching on to their mothers breasts. This is not meant to bash on hospitals. Its to point out that women's bodies have been able to birth babies long before humans created hospitals.

At first, a home birth seemed like a neat idea to me because it would mean that I got to watch my child enter this world from the comfort of my living room. But after learning about these statistics, my mindset quickly shifted to home birthing being not just interesting, but our best option.

Now, you might be wondering why an essay in Bitcoin Magazine is discussing childbirth. The answer is simple: Bitcoin, like home birth, is rooted in the idea of trusting oneself and ones own abilities. Bitcoin is a decentralized, digital currency that enables secure and private transactions without...

We were at a childrens hospital last week for some testing.  Ronan had two appointments spaced several hours apart.  It was going to be a very long day for him.  It was going to be a very long one for me, too.  Despite that, I was actually looking forward to our day out.  We were catching up with one Ronans providers we met about a year ago.  Integral in getting some much-needed equipment and services for my son, I looked forward to hearing what else he might suggest I could, or should, be doing for Ronan.  Before that follow-up appointment though, Ronan was scheduled to see a new doctor.  He was also scheduled for some testing.  New people and new testing can make me nervous.  Understandably,...

The car was parked overnight outside a restaurant in Lake Shore Road, Hamburg, New York, back in 2016 right on the shore of Lake Erie and very close to the Canadian border. It went wildly viral.

Incredibly, when u/Chode_Of_Justice shared the clip, it turned out that a lot of people hadnt seen it before. These reactions show just what was going through their heads.

She Called Out Her Dad and Her Stepdad. Is She a Jerk? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Sometimes, you just gotta call people out in life

And sometimes, those people happen to be your dad and your stepdad

Yikes!

That sure doesnt sound good!

But lets get all the facts before we jump to conclusions, okay?

Dive in below!

AITA for calling out my dad and stepdad?

I (16f) have a twin brother (Cody).

I do cheer and Cody does sports. We do these activities because we enjoy them but Cody also puts in a lot of effort because hes constantly seeking approval from our dad AND step dad.

The two dont care for each other, but are somehow the best of friends when it comes to Codys sports.

He does like 5 different ones because our dad likes hockey and lacrosse while our step dad prefers football and basketball-they both enjoy baseball. If he ever dares to quit a single one, one of them will throw a riot or accuse him of playing favourites.

Its so dumb. Sometimes Codys schedules clash or get so overwhelming to the point where hell lay on his bedroom floor for hours and dissociate. Its been like this since he was like 10.

My mom and step mom think its just men being men and that boys enjoy sports so Cody probably doesnt care but like theres a limit to everything right?

We were having a celebratory lunch for our older sister before she leaves for college and both sides were there. The lunch ended at 2pm and our sister asked if we wanted to go the mall. I said yes and Cody was CLEARLY going to say yes but our dad said he had baseball practice.

Cody tried asking if he could sit out one day since he hasnt missed a single practice of anything in his life but our step dad joined our dads practice makes perfect speech and backed out. They then tried using ME as an example.

Oh Ashleys never missed a day of practice...

The Overpopulation Myth "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Rosanne Lindsay,
The myth of overpopulation is an unfounded belief that: the number of people on Earth will exceed the [hypothetical] carrying capacity of the planet in the foreseeable future, leading to economic or social collapse, and that actions ought to be taken to curb population growth. Population alarmists at the United Nations propose that the worlds growing population will strip the Earth of its useable resources and will outpace innovation and rates of production. This, they believe, will cause diminishing standards of living, more poverty, more hunger, famine and starvation, water shortages, pestilence, war and conflict over diminishing resources, the evisceration of wildlife habitats, and environmental catastrophes.   Population Research Institute

Scholars Predict CCP to Force People to Have Children to Resolve Aging Population Crisis After Faking Data Since 1990s "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Teresa Zhang and Summer Lawson
In 2023, after the Beijing government announced its population reduction for the first time in history, it attracted global attention due to the crisis of its aging population. Lian Yizheng, a professor of economics and a senior media professional in Hong Kong, recently shared in an exclusive interview with The Epoch Times his thoughts on the regime beginning to falsify its demographics since the 1990s. Coupled with the Beijing government concealing the deaths in the COVID pandemic, Chinas population may have already fallen below one billion. Lian predicts that the Chinese regime will introduce forced childbirth measures, which he believes will not help resolve the population issue. Lian thinks it is going to bring more crises to the government. On Jan. 17, the Statistics Bureau of China announced that its national population was 1.411.75 billion at the end of 2022, marking 850,000 less than at the end of 2021. It was the first time that a population decline was recorded officially. Lian assessed that the relevant figures should not be surprising since Chinas population crisis had been ongoing for many years. Lian mentioned that foreign media reports on the Chinese population were still based on the official data released by the Beijing government, resulting in their inability to evaluate the Chinese demographics accurately. Although Lian once told American media that their quoted data was inaccurate, their only response was having no other way to obtain data except the Chinese official publicized number and they cannot use other data without sources. Lian beli...

boygenius Asks Motherfuckers in the Back to Maybe Not Cry So Loudly "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

LOS ANGELES Supergroup boygenius asked fans at the rear of the audience to lower the volume of their sobbing during a recent show at the Bronze Horse Nightclub in Highland Park, attendees confirmed.

We appreciate that our music has such an intense effect on you, and we dont want to police your fun, said Phoebe Bridgers as the group was preparing to introduce their new single Not Strong Enough. Its just that were trying to open up the pit, and its hard to get pumped when we can hear you all bawling back there. This makes a good 50 consecutive shows of this. Its like were putting out the wrong vibes or something.

Jeremy Brooks, a fan whose eyes were still wet with tears from the show, said he appreciated the way the band communicated with the audience.

They really make you feel like youre part of the whole experience, like you matter as an individual, said Brooks. Like at one point, Julien Baker was just yelling at everyone, Get on your fucking feet! Then she pointed directly at me and said, Especially you. Security told us that if you collapse into the fetal position one more time, theyre going to have you removed. Ive been to a lot of shows, and Ive never felt that kind of connection with a band before.

Bronze Horse owner Calvin Steadman said he had been excited for the bands performance, but would be hesitant to host them again without a revised contract.

I had never worked with this promoter before, but when they mentioned boygenius, I was all in. My kids love them and they put on a hell of a show, said Steadman whose club hosts a wide variety of acts. The fans, though. We werent ready for them. Im used to seeing people get banged up in the pit, or maybe a fight or two breaking out, but Ive never had anyone slip on tears until tonight. And thats not even mentioning the snot. My guys are asking for hazard pay. Unless the band agrees to cover the cost of cleanup next time, I just cant have them back.

After the show, sources reported that Lucy Dacus held the microphone out for the audience to sing the refrain of Bite the Hand, only for a fan to grab it and launch into a tearful monologue about how the bands music had saved her.

5 Economic Disparities Youre Immune From Since You Can Afford Two Shirts at the Merch Booth "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

TWO shirts? Are you kidding me? Havent you heard about all the inflation going on right now? And you know the merch is more expensive because the venues are taking a cut too, right? Obviously, only the elites are safe, but I had no idea they hang out at punk bars by the railroad tracks! I bet your biggest problem is deciding which yacht youll drive to the show because you clearly arent semi-bankrupting yourself paying for childcare, tickets, merch, and two PBRs on the same paycheck.

Since youre unaware of your privilege, here are 5 economic disparities youre immune from since you can afford two shirts at the merch booth.

Homelessness

You know not everyone lives in a palace, right? Its unlikely you can afford extra merch because youre couch-hopping or about to get evicted for doing something stupid like spending your rent money on tee shirts. Must. Be. Nice.

Climate Change

You can purchase clothes in bulk, so youll have no problem layering up when the next ice age happens. While the rest of us use paper sacks and dog pelts to protect us from the arctic apocalypse, youll be toasty in your cashmere Periphery crewneck and leopard skin Knocked Loose longsleeve. Who cares about nuclear winter when youve got high-end merch?

Childhood Poverty
Your family has a hall named after them at Yale, and it shows. While everyone else was wearing hand-me-down sneakers in elementary school, you were shopping at Shoe Carnival. I bet you even had a pair of rain boots and actual OshKosh BGosh overalls. Asshole.

Food Insecurity
Wait! You got stickers, too?! buying $40 worth of shirts plus stickers in one stop means you regularly feast like a king. Theres no way you ate less food every night this week to be sure you could buy some band tees and a couple of cheap beers tonight.

Wage Inequality
Is that a record under your arm?! Holy fuck! You know, women and people of color often make less than their white, cishet, male counterparts?! If I, an unemployed white male with a criminal record and unchecked mental health problems, cant afford it, you must be a part of the upper 1%.

I bet you even tipped the merch guy, didnt you? You know what, I hope those shirts fit you like shit, you rich bastard.

Review: The Clash Give Em Enough Rope "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

Each week The Hard Times looks back on a classic album from punk history. This week we reviewed The Clashs sophomore album Give Em Enough Rope and, damn is it nasty!

The album marks a significant departure for the Clash. Whereas their first self-titled album remains an early landmark of the heavy social and political themes that would become ingrained in the punk rock ethos, Give Em Enough Rope is about one thing and one thing only: fucking.

Many of the tracks on the album describe, in vivid, sweaty detail, specific erotic events in the lives of the band members. The band sets this up immediately in the first track Safe European Home, in which Joe Strummer explains the sense of security and community he felt while visiting a German sex dungeon.

Other tales of erotic adventures include Stay Free, which describes Paul Simonon getting good and sloppy on a nude beach somewhere. Also, on the sillier side of the spectrum, Drug Stabbing Time, recounts the time the entire band all dunked their dong in methedrine and had an impromptu sword fight while on a break from recording.

But the albums standout track is Tommy Gun, an imagined story about a boy named Tommy who can only ejaculate by having someone fire a cannon directly at his genitals. Though this is tame by later GG Allin standards, for the time it was the most transgressive of punk songs.

Though its unclear why the Clash decided that, for this album, they would eschew the established punk song content upon which they had previously built their image though it can be safely assumed that they were significantly more horned up this time around, and frankly its a vast improvement. There are only so many rants against Margaret Thatcher that can be listened to before you kinda just wanna hear about what she looks like naked.

So, thats Give Em Enough Rope, the Clash album that answers the question what if Joe Strummer played guitar with his taint for every song?

SCORE: 4 out of 4 methed-up English dongs

Drone Metal Zumba Class Burns Four Calories "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

EAST LANSING, Mich. Attendees of Fit4Life Athletic Clubs Thursday night Zumba class featuring a drone metal playlist burned a total of approximately four calories, denim-clad participants confirmed.

I didnt think Zumba was for me until I tried this class, said metalhead Amelia Walters, who was wearing a spiked military-grade jacket completely absent of sweat. When Rise to Glory started playing, the moves actually got really intense. We took two sort of big slides to the left and then half a turn, all during the same song. Whew. Luckily there was a nice cooldown right afterward when we did some salsa to the beat of Lullaby of the Leaves and then got a water break.

Witnesses estimated the class participants took more than eight minutes to complete a single merengue step pattern.

At first I thought they were having a weird funeral for a dead personal trainer or something in there, commented Fit4Life gym regular Cole Sorriero, who had peered through the glass at the hunched-over, freakishly slow-moving dancers at several points during his weightlifting routine. Maybe it was for that guy with the tattoos who always looked sort of bummed out? But I dont know. Wait, it has to be for a prank video, right?

Alberto Beto Prez, founder of the popular fitness dance program that typically burns between 300 and 900 calories per session, weighed in on the new structure of his class.

Zumba is proudly designed for all ages and backgrounds, and we welcome everyone, stated Prez, becoming increasingly disgusted as his assistant showed him a concert video of sunn O)))s Mocking Solemnity. But seeing the tragic footage of the so-called drone class, I am utterly and fully repulsed. I cannot even speak to how insulting this is, they just sit there grimacing most of the time and occasionally nodding their head. A few of the people in the class were oepnly drinking beers. This should be a joyous and fun workout, and here these people are, barely even moving. Despicable!

At press time, Fit4Life had responded to gymgoers requests for a more challenging workout by replacing the Thursday drone metal Zumba class with grindcore Zumba.

People Have Been Watching an AI-Generated Infinite Seinfeld Episode on Twitch "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Now, this is pretty wild!

Thousands of people have been watching a continuously streaming AI-generated episode of Seinfeld on Twitch since December 2022 and the dialogue is being created using ChatGPT. The show is called Nothing, Forever and it vaguely resembles the classic TV show but the dialogue is not the same.

Skyler Hartle, one of the shows creators, said that the show started off as a surreal art project, but generative media and generative AI just kind of took off in a crazy way over the past couple of years.

Hartle also said, As generative media gets better, we have this notion that at any point, youre gonna be able to turn on the future equivalent of Netflix and watch a show perpetually, nonstop as much as you want. You dont just have seven seasons of a show, you have seven hundred, or infinite seasons of a show that has fresh content whenever you want it.

The show has been a big hit and people have been tweeting all kinds of updates about it.

Colonial Psychology: The Psychology We All Recognize | Darcia Narvez, PhD "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From Psychology Today: Psychological theory, research and practice have been increasingly criticized for their narrow perspective and biases, many of which are reflective of WEIRD culture (Western, educated, industrialized, rich, democratic [sic]; Henrich et al., 2010). There are alternative approaches to psychology.

In his new book, A New Psychology Based on Community, Equality, and Care of the Earth, Arthur Blume (2020) provides both a critique and an alternative psychology, based on how psychology has been practiced for thousands of years by Indigenous/First Nation communities. Blume contrasts the premises of Indigenous psychology with what he calls colonial psychology.

Colonial Psychology

The field of psychology was founded by White males and continues to be dominated by people who are descendants of White Europeans. Only 0.1% of American Psychological Association membership is American Indian/Alaska Native. From the beginning the field tried to establish itself as a science, but not the kind of science Native Peoples practice.

Blume identifies several perspectives of the colonial worldview he considers myths because they are contrary to the longstanding psychologies of Native Peoples.

Blume calls nature creation, to grant it the respect it deserves as the entity from which we derive our existences (pp. 4-5).

Here are key constructs within the field of colonial psychology. Note that it can be difficult to recognize ones own cultural assumptions unless one is immersed in a contrary culture. Again, these are contrary to Indigenous psychology.

  • Creation must be improved.
  • The individual self is central.
  • Life is compartmentalized.
  • Ownership is possible and desirable.
  • Time is bounded.
  • Existence is hierarchical.

Fake Meat Dangers With Dr. Joseph Mercola "IndyWatch Feed Health"

At face value, fake meat sounds like the perfect solution to end world hunger, protect animal welfare and save the planet from environmental destruction. Even a brief look below the surface reveals a much more nefarious reality, however.

To help raise awareness about this latest assault on human health, I recently spoke with host Polly Tommey on "Tea Time," a program by Children's Health Defense, about the dangers of fake meat products.1

Fake Meat Is All About Controlling the Food Supply

Fake food including lab-grown meat, animal-free dairy and plant-based meat is the globalists' latest attempt to control the food supply. Former U.S. Secretary of State and national security adviser Henry Kissinger once said, "Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control people."2 Controlling people is their whole agenda.

The globalists have long held a monopoly on the grain industry with their patented genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In the early 2010s, not many people knew about GMOs. In 2011, we started to educate the public about their dangers, as they posed a major threat to public health and the environment.

In 2012, a ballot initiative was launched in California to require mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) foods and food ingredients. The initiative was narrowly defeated due to massive donations from multinational corporations, but we won in the long term because awareness of GMOs in the food supply significantly increased. Now, most health-conscious people avoid GE/GMOs.

A similar trend is now occurring with fake food. The globalists are trying to replace animal husbandry with lab-grown meat, which will allow private companies to effectively control the entire food supply.

Fake Meat Is Even Worse Than CAFOs

Many people are aware of the pitfalls of concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) unnatural diets of GMO grains, crowded conditions, inhumane treatment, excessive pollution and rampant spread of disease. CAFOs are bad but the new fake food era is going to be even worse.

With their patented fake meat products, the globalists will have unprecedented control over people's health.3 It sounds noble to try to provide for the entire world's population using animal-free methods, but it's a deception.

US Citizens Have a New Weapon in Their Fight for Freedom "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From Dr. Joseph Mercola

Since COVID-19 first entered the scene, exchange of ideas has basically been outlawed. By sharing my views and those from various experts throughout the pandemic on COVID treatments and the experimental COVID jabs, I became a main target of the White House, the political establishment and the global cabal.

Propaganda and pervasive censorship have been deployed to seize control over every part of your life, including your health, finances and food supply. The major media are key players and have been instrumental in creating and fueling fear.

I am republishing this article in its original form so that you can see how the progression unfolded.

Naomi Wolf, a former adviser to the Clinton administration, is a prolific author and Yale University graduate. She also received a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship that allowed her to complete her Ph.D. in English and literature at Oxford University in 2015. Eight years before that, she wrote a book called The End of America, which is the topic of this interview.

The End of America was published in 2007. At the end of this article, you will find a playlist of three videos in which she reads select chapters of the book. You can also read excerpts of her book for free on the publishers website, chelseagreen.com.1

A Prescient Warning

Already in 2007, Wolf warned us of where we were headed. In her book, she points out that would-be tyrants are found on both sides of the political spectrum. We must not get locked into generalizations about political affiliations, because they simply do not give us a truthful picture of who the enemy is.

While Wolf and I could be said to be on opposite sides of the political spectrum, Wolf being a long-time progressive while many would view me as a conservative, our views are in perfect alignment when it comes to the issues of protecting American freedom and liberty.

In The End of America, Wolf lays out the 10 steps toward tyranny. These steps have been followed by virtually all would-be tyrants, be they on the political le...

Will We See Another Kennedy in the White House? "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the author of two books. "American Values: Lessons I Learned from My Family," published in 2018, describes the Kennedys' 60-year-long fight with the CIA.

His 2021 book, "The Real Anthony Fauci," became a runaway best seller, selling over a million copies, despite unprecedented censorship. In this interview, Kennedy, an attorney, reviews some of the lawsuits filed by Children's Health Defense (CHD), founded by Kennedy in 2018 (was World Mercury Project in 2016), and why he believes he can "drain the swamp" and clean up our federal agencies if elected president of the United States.

The Trusted News Initiative Lawsuit

One of the most recent lawsuits is the antitrust lawsuit against the Trusted News Initiative (TNI). I and several other journalists and news organizations that have been censored during the pandemic are also plaintiffs in this lawsuit. As explained by Kennedy:

"The Trusted News Initiative lawsuit applies antitrust laws against this really shocking agreement made at the onset of the pandemic, initiated by the BBC.

The BBC is not officially a government agency. It's a government-supported network that is supposed to have walls between itself and the government, but recent scandals in Britain have exposed how closely the BBC works with the British Intelligence Agency, MI5, particularly in censoring information on certain subjects, including public health.

This is now well-established. We don't know how much the British Intelligence Agency had to do with kicking off the TNI, but the BBC approached a dozen top news organizations in the United States, including The New York Times and The Washington Post and the social media networks proposing they all censor information that did not comport with government proclamations during the pandemic."

Importantly, a memorandum by the BBC states that independent news sites are "existential competitors" and a threat to the mainstream media business model and must be crushed.

Eliminating "competition" (which we're not) was the entire purpose behind TNI, so the basis for the lawsuit is that TNI is violating the Sherman Antitrust Act. As explained by Kennedy, the BBC is using its market power and illegal collaboration with other leading market actors to crush smaller competitors.

First Amendment Cases

The CHD has also filed a number of First Amendment cases, including one against Facebook, which censored the CHD and ma...

Would You Serve Your Father-In-Law To Keep The Peace? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

People all grow up in different environments and households, with all kinds of parents. When two people decide to get married, part of that merging of lives means navigating each others birth families.

This womans father-in-law has very traditional ideas of what roles men and women will play in the household, and typically, she and her husband dont really rock the boat too much if they can help it.

My husband and I (both 26) recently hosted a family dinner to announce our pregnancy, its important to add that my husband doesnt have a close relationship with his father, but we keep him around because he still has 3 minor siblings that we love and care for.

My FIL is the type of person that still thinks women should serve men at dining times (like, he has to be served first because hes the breadwinner and shit like that), we usually dont care since we mostly ignore them, however this time my family was present and we consider he f**ked around and found out.

At a recent family dinner, though, things came to a head because OP served her own father, who was injured, but told her father in law he could make his own plate.

My dad is my favorite person in the world, my mom died when I was little and my dad took care of my older sister and I, theyre the only family I have left, at dinner, both my husband and I cooked things we knew both of our families would like, the first issue started when my FIL tried to sit at one of the heads of the table and my husband said no, he sad at one and I sat at the other, me with my father and sister to either side and him with his brothers, so m FIL was kinda in the middle and didnt like it.

The second problem and the cause of all of this is that everyone was kinda serving themselves, however my dad has a damaged nerve on his right hand and he stru...

Lichens and the Meaning of Life "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

We are lichens on a grand scale.

Lichens and the Meaning of Life

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe, the great naturalist John Muir wrote in the middle of the nineteenth century. We forget that nature itself is one vast miracle transcending the reality of night and nothingness, the great naturalist Loren Eiseley wrote a century later as he considered the meaning of life. We forget that each one of us in his personal life repeats that miracle.

Because of this delicate interconnectedness of life across time, space, and being, any littlest fragment of the universe can become a lens on the miraculous whole. Sometimes, it is the humblest life-forms that best intimate the majesty of life itself.

Take, for instance, lichens.

Former CDC Director Warns: The Next Plandemic Will Be WORSE Than COVID "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Robert Redfield said recently that gain of function research will ensure that the next plandemic is worse than COVID. According to another doctor, the next one will be a bioweapon created to do real-world harm that the people will actually see.

Dr. Paul Cottrell says will be the release of a chimeric bioweapon composed of SARS, HIV, and the H5N1 bird flu. This timing is interesting considering major big pharma companies are already creating vaccines just in case the bird flu mutates and jumps to humans.

Moderna Is Standing Ready For The Human Bird Flu Pandemic

Vaccine Being Prepared For A Bird Flu Jump To Humans

Vaccine giants GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Moderna, and CSL Seqirus told Reuters recently that they have already begun or are about to begin testing the new shots H5N1 that transmits to humans. Moderna has indicated that its H5N1 injections will be made using the same messenger RNA (mRNA) technology found in its covid injections.

Mutations in H5N1 Bird Flu Are Concerning

On Mondays broadcast of Hill.TVs Rising, Dr. Redfield said that the next pandemic will come not from animal spillover, but from gain-of-function research or intentional bioterrorism. And that the next pandemic will be much more brutal to the world than COVID was.

Redfield stated, I do believe the next pandemic, and were going to have another pandemic and I think its going to be the great pandemic, I consider COVID a minor pandemic, the great pandemics going to come. And normally, it would come from spilloverbird flu that learns how to transmit to humans an...
