If you are trying to sell your home right now, I feel so sorry for you. Thanks to the Federal Reserve, mortgage rates have risen to very alarming levels, and this has scared millions of potential homebuyers out of the market.

Compared to two years ago, the average potential homebuyer is facing mortgage payments that are close to $1,000 per month higher. I dont know about you, but I certainly wouldnt want to pay $1,000 more each month for the exact same house. So most potential homebuyers are staying out of the market until interest rates come down, and that could be a while because officials at the Fed do not plan to reduce rates for the foreseeable future.

On Thursday, we learned that sales of pre-owned homes fell 3.3 percent last month. Overall, they have now dropped to the lowest level that we have seen during the month of June since 2009

Sales of pre-owned homes dropped 3.3% in June compared with May, running at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 4.16 million units, according to the National Association of Realtors.

Compared with June of last year, sales were 18.9% lower. That is the slowest sales pace for June since 2009.

In June 2009, we were right in the middle of Housing Crash 1.

Now Housing Crash 2 is here. Over the first six months of this year, only about one percent of all pre-existing homes in the U.S. changed hands

House sales have reached their lowest level in over a decade, with only one percent of properties changing hands in the first half of the year.

Fresh analysis by real estate brokerage RedFin shows that just 14 out of every 1,000 homes across the US were sold in the last six months.

A report by the Pentagon inspector general has revealed that some of the military equipment supplied to Ukraine by the United States and its allies during the conflict with Russia has fallen into the hands of criminal groups, volunteer fighters, and traffickers. Who could have possibly seen that coming?

Russia Has Destroyed 1/3 Of U.S. Supplied Armored Fighting Vehicles Sent To Ukraine

CNN and Militray.com reported on the content of the paper, entitled Evaluation of the DoDs Accountability of Equipment Provided to Ukraine, on Thursday, after obtaining the document via a Freedom of Information Act request. The report, which came out in October, examined the period from February 2022, when the fighting between Moscow and Kyiv began, to September of that year.

The US office of Defense Cooperation in Kiev was unable to conduct required [end-use monitoring] of military equipment that the United States provided to Ukraine in FY 2022, the report read, as cited by CNN. According to the inspector general, the problems stemmed from the inability of DoD personnel to visit areas where equipment provided to Ukraine was being used or stored.

Last June, an organized crime group, allegedly overseen by an unspecified Russian official, infiltrated a volunteer battalion and stole various weapons, including a grenade launcher and a machine gun, as well as more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition. The perceived intent of the group was to conduct destabilizing activities, the report read, as cited by Military.com.-RT

Russia has repeatedly said that it strongly opposes the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. There have been many times that Moscow has pointed to the danger of those arms being smuggled out of Ukraine and sold on the black market. Yesterday, with a bit of fanfare but not TOO much fanfare, a wonderful new product was launched. FedNow is live, and we can all transfer money to our hearts content via the Federal Reserve.

Wow, that sounds great, doesnt it? Of course, that is a spot created by the Federal Reserve and up ton the Federal Reserve YouTube channel.

FedNow is live at 35 banks.

Axios reports that 35 banks across the country are participating in the launch.

By the numbers: So far, 35 banks have signed up as early adopters of FedNow, including JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, but notably not including Citigroup or Bank of America. That number is rather lower than the Fed led us to believe as recently as recently as June.

The U.S. Treasury is also signed up as an early adopter of FedNow.

Some 353 banks and credit unions have signed up for RTP.

In order to use either service, both the sending and the receiving bank need to be signed up for the system.

A key military weapons facility in the United Kingdom where cutting-edge missiles were being manufactured with haste to be sent off to Ukraine has shut down after underpaid workers there decided to strike.

According to reports, the workers, who earn around minimum wage less than what the average supermarket clerk in the UK makes have walked off the job at the Defence Equipment and Support depot in Beith, Scotland. The facility supplies Storm Shadow and Brimstone missiles that Moscow says have been used to strike civilian targets.

The sudden worker walk-off has prompted British defense officials to take emergency contingency measures in order to keep the weapons flowing.

The crux of the strike has to do with the pay gap that exists between those who assemble the weapons and those who move them. The former makes 16.82 ($22) an hour, along with bonuses and allowances, while the latter makes 38,000 ($50,000) a year.

The latters non-craft workers, however, earn just 10.42 ($13.62) an hour and receive no bonuses, which makes their annual salary just 20,500. This is below the UKs living wage of 10.90 (14.25) an hour.

Basically, the non-craft workers could earn more at Lidl at around 11 an hour, one source told the British media, Lidl being a popular European food market chain.

If the strike continues for a considerable amount of time, it could eventually have implications for missiles going to Ukraine or Faslane, the same source added.

Will Ukraine run out of weapons due to the strike?

According to reports, the strike is the depots first since its creation in 1943. Nearly all GMB union members, around 93 percent, support the strike and plan to stick with it until pay and benefits increases are offered.

Strike organizer Chris Kennedy has asked Defence Secretary Ben Wallace to intervene on the strike to try to stop it, otherwise supplies of the crucial missiles manufactured at Beith will soon run low.

The West Is Not Prepared For A War Against China SHTF Plan

The West is not ready to battle China in a war. Reports are confirming that think tanks in the United States have investigated the ammunition shortages caused by the attempt to arm Ukraine and found them to be dire.

Ammunition stockpiles in the West have been found wanting, the Financial Times reported. The military-industrial complex of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) allies is not able to help, either. The think tank, the Center for New American Security (CNAS), said the existing missile inventory is too small to blunt an initial invasion, let alone prevail in a protracted conflict against China. To deter and defeat Beijing, the Pentagon needs large stockpiles of stand-off missiles, maritime strike weapons, and layered air and missile defenses, CNAS concluded.

Another think tank called the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) wargame of a conflict with China over Taiwan showed that the U.S. had only about 450 long-range anti-ship missiles, enough for about a week.

According to a report by the Financial Times, the US Department of Defense has asked for $1.1 billion in the 2024 fiscal year to buy 118 long-range anti-ship missiles (LRASM), compared to half that amount for 83 missiles the year before. The Pentagon also wants $30 billion for ammunition, a 23% increase over 2023 levels, and $315 billion for new weapons.

The war in Ukraine reminds us about the risks of being slow to produce weaponry, says Cynthia Cook, director of the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at US think-tank the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
