The Mask Mandates Did Nothing. Will Any Lessons Be Learned? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses including Covid-19 was published late last month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is its lead author, were unambiguous. "There is just no evidence that they" masks "make any difference," he told the journalist Maryanne Demasi. "Full stop." But, wait, hold on. What about N-95 masks, as opposed to lower-quality surgical or cloth masks? "Makes no difference none of it," said Jefferson. These observations don't come from just anywhere. Jefferson and 11 colleagues conducted the study for Cochrane, a British nonprofit that is widely considered the gold standard for its reviews of health care data. The conclusions were based on 78 randomized controlled trials, six of them during the Covid pandemic, with a total of 610,872 participants in multiple countries. And they track what has been widely observed in the United States: States with mask mandates fared no better against Covid than those without. People may have good personal reasons to wear masks, and they may have the discipline to wear them consistently. Their choices are their own. But when it comes to the population-level benefits of masking, the verdict is in: Mask mandates were a bust. The mainstream experts and pundits who supported mandates were wrong.

Trial of Mexico's Former Top Cop Neglected U.S. Role in War on Drugs "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Genaro Garca Luna, Mexico's former top law enforcement official known as the "architect" of the Mexican side of the drug war, was found guilty in New York federal court of collaborating with the Sinaloa cartel, the biggest organized crime group in North America. For years, Garca Luna was the U.S. government's most trusted ally in the war on drugs. As public security secretary, he wielded incredible power, overseeing Mexico's Federal Police, the prison network, and a vast intelligence-gathering infrastructure, while working with the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, CIA, and Department of Homeland Security in the fight against Mexican cartels. The case portrayed Garca Luna and his network of corrupt officials as a handful of bad apples, and what U.S. officials knew about Garca Luna's illicit activities went mostly unexplored, despite the government's role in providing funding, equipment, and training that has fueled drug-related violence. Garca Luna was found guilty of all five charges, including drug trafficking and continuing a criminal enterprise. Prosecutors alleged that he received around $274 million in bribes from the cartel from 2001 to 2012, first as head of the Federal Investigative Agency, the Mexican equivalent of the FBI, and then as secretary of public security. Garca Luna left public office in 2012 following a change in presidency and moved to Miami where he started a security consulting company and lived a lavish lifestyle.

'Extinction is on the table': Jaron Lanier warns of tech's existential threat to humanity "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Jaron Lanier, the eminent American computer scientist, composer and artist, is no stranger to skepticism around social media. The web is not a free market of information as originally envisioned. It is a gamed system being rampantly abused. [Lanier] helped create modern ideologies Web 2.0 futurism, digital utopianism, among them. But Lanier is no longer a fan of how the digital utopia is coming along. He's called it "digital Maoism" and accused tech giants like Facebook and Google of being "spy agencies". In his latest thinking Lanier draws attention to Harvard psychologist BF Skinner's theories of "operant conditioning", or behavior controlled by its consequences, otherwise known as behavior modification. In Skinner's studies, lab rats were subjected alternately to electric shocks and treats to achieve a change in response. On social media, he says, we experience something similar. Approval, disapproval or being ignored, such techniques can be manipulated online as part of what is euphemistically called "engagement" and the creation of addictive patterns for individuals and then by proxy eventually whole societies. "As we enter an era where nothing means anything because it's all just about power, intermediation and influence, it's very hard to put ideas out and very easy for them to come across not as intended," he said. "I do believe that our survival depends on modifying the internet to create a structure that is friendlier to human cognition and to the ways people really are."

How the Supreme Court could re-shape the internet as you know it "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Passed in 1996, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act sought to foster the growth of the early internet. Congress created a special form of legal immunity for websites so they could develop uninhibited by lawsuits that might suffocate the ecosystem. In the time since, companies ... have invoked Section 230 to nip user-content lawsuits in the bud, arguing, usually successfully, that they are not responsible for the content their users create. Democrats say the law has given websites a free pass to overlook hate speech and misinformation; Republicans say it lets them suppress right-wing viewpoints. The Supreme Court [is] reviewing Section 230; Congress and the White House have also proposed changes to the law. Understanding how the internet may work differently without Section 230 ... starts with one, simple concept: Shrinking the liability shield means exposing websites and internet users to more lawsuits. A Supreme Court ruling restricting immunity for recommendations could mean any decision to like, upvote, retweet or share content could be identified as a "recommendation" and trigger a viable lawsuit. One option would be to preemptively remove any and all content that anyone, anywhere could even remotely allege is objectionable ... reducing the range of allowed speech on social media. Another option would be to stop moderating content altogether, to avoid claims that a site knew or should have known that a piece of objectionable material was on its platform.

As crime-solving goes hi-tech, public defenders scramble to keep up "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Caleb Kenyon, a defense attorney in Florida, saw a geofence warrant was when a new client received an alarming email from Google in January 2020. Police were requesting personal data from the client, Zachary McCoy, and Kenyon had just seven days to stop Google from turning it over, the email said. The geofence warrant included a map and GPS coordinates, and instructed Google to provide identifying information for every user whose device was found within the radius of that location at a certain date and time. "It was so bizarre that I just didn't even have a concept for what I was dealing with," he said. Kenyon is not alone. As tech firms build ever more sophisticated means of surveilling people and their devices technology that law enforcement is eager to take advantage of the legal community is scrambling to keep up. The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) ... recently created the Fourth Amendment Center, named for the constitutional right against unreasonable searches. The center is one of the few resources available for helping attorneys better understand how new technology is being used against their clients. It can be years before the defense community catches wind of the newest surveillance tools. Unlike other search warrants, geofence warrants don't require probable cause or a specific suspect in mind; they gather information on anyone within the vicinity of an alleged crime. Advocates argue this violates the fourth amendment.

Three Years Late, the Lancet Recognizes Natural Immunity "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

The Lancet medical journal this month published a review of 65 studies that concluded prior infection with Covidi.e., natural immunityis at least as protective as two doses of mRNA vaccines. "Immunity acquired from a Covid infection is as protective as vaccination against severe illness and death, study finds," NBC reported on Feb. 16. The study found that prior infection offered 78.6% protection against reinfection from the original Wuhan, Alpha or Delta variants at 40 weeks, which slipped to 36.1% against Omicron. Protection against severe illness remained around 90% across all variants after 40 weeks. These results exceed what other studies have found for two and even three mRNA doses. This comes after nearly three years of public-health officials' dismissing the same hypothesis. But now that experts at the University of Washington have confirmed it in a leadingand left-leaningjournal, it's fit to print. The Lancet study's vindication of natural immunity fits a pandemic pattern: The public-health clerisy rejects an argument that ostensibly threatens its authority; eventually it's forced to soften its position in the face of incontrovertible evidence; and yet not once does it acknowledge its opponents were right. The concept of natural immunity isn't scientifically controversial, yet it was disparaged by public-health officials who associated it with opposition to lockdowns and the Great Barrington Declaration in autumn 2020.

The CDC's Long-Covid Deception "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Consider a recent study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that claims to find that nearly 36% of Covid cases among students, faculty and staff at George Washington University resulted in "long Covid." The study suggests ... that the unvaccinated were at more than twice as high a risk of developing long Covid as those fully vaccinated who had gotten boosters. This sounds plausible. But drill down, and it becomes clear that the evidence is too thin to draw any conclusions. The study ... doesn't include a control group. The finding that nearly 36% reported long Covid symptoms is meaningless without such a sample to determine how common such symptoms were among people who never had Covid. Long Covid in general isn't well-defined, but the study defines it expansively to include problems common among college studentsdifficulty making decisions, fatigue, anxiety, sadness, trouble sleeping and the catch-all "other symptoms." If a student reported at least one physical or psychological problem, he was classified as having long Covid. A CDC survey in January 2021 reported that 57% of respondents between 18 and 29 had experienced anxiety or depression within the previous seven days. A November 2021 study ... found that many people with persistent physical symptoms that are commonly ascribed to long Covid didn't test positive for antibodies. A belief that one had Covid was more strongly associated with physical symptoms than a lab-confirmed infection.

The pandemic spawned a better model for family courts "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

With the recent news that the Biden administration will end the COVID-19 public health emergencies this spring, it is time to take stock of the different policies and adaptations that came out of the lockdowns. Initially ... the lockdowns meant that courts were shut down in most states, creating long waits and lack of access to vital judicial proceedings. But the courts quickly pivoted. Despite initial technological challenges, the switch to remote family court hearings saved time and money, increased participation in court proceedings, improved legal representation for families living in rural areas, and created a more welcoming environment for children. This week, the American Enterprise Institute is releasing a report, authored by Maura Corrigan, former director of Michigan Health and Human Services, explaining what we can learn from how these courts operated and what practices we should use in the post-pandemic era. Major studies done on remote hearings found benefits to the practice, particularly in terms of participation. Parties to these hearings appreciated the end of "cattle call" docketing, which forced participants to wait (in person) until their case was called a significant waste of time and resources for parties, attorneys, witnesses, the public and the judges. Under the new remote system, the times for these hearings were precise, wasting neither the time nor the resources of any parties to the case. There were also many anecdotal reports that children felt more comfortable in remote hearings.

As Public Trust Wanes, FDA Pledges to 'Save Lives' by Policing Online Content "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Since U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf began his second tenure as the agency's head in February 2022, he has made combating "misinformation" one of his top priorities, arguing it is "a leading cause of preventable death in America now" though "this cannot be proved," he said. In an interview ... Califf, who also headed the FDA between 2016 and 2017, reiterated his pledge to "save lives" by policing online content. The FDA may be facing an uphill battle, as multiple factors are combining to foster public mistrust toward the agency. For instance, in January, Frank Yiannas, the FDA's deputy commissioner for food policy and response, resigned over concerns about the FDA's oversight structure. A 2022 study by The BMJ found that the FDA gets 65% of its funding for drug evaluation from industry user fees, while another 2022 study found that 95% of the members of an HHS committee that establishes dietary guidelines for Americans have one or more conflicts of interest with industry actors. Members of the FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee have also been found to have conflicts of interest with the very pharmaceutical companies and vaccine manufacturers they are meant to be regulating. And while public health authorities in other countries have begun to come forward with admissions that the COVID-19 vaccines resulted in cases of myocarditis and death, no such admissions appear to be forthcoming from the FDA at this time.

The CDC Is Breaking Trust in Childhood Vaccination "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

On June 18, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officially recommended Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for all children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years. While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is the agency responsible for authorizing emergency use of vaccines, it's the CDC that crafts subsequent messaging, makes specific recommendations, and prioritizes who can, should, or should not get vaccinated. In her briefing, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky strongly urged all parents of the nearly 20 million American children in this age group to vaccinate them as soon as possible. There remains ... no solid consensus among physicians about the importance of vaccinating healthy children against COVID-19. In a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) meeting on June 28, Pfizer Vice President for Viral Vaccines Kena Swanson even acknowledged that "there is no established correlate" between antibody levels and protection from disease. Approval for the COVID vaccines in infants and toddlers is based on two trials that used changes in antibody levels as an estimate of efficacy, but did not assess protection from severe disease, hospitalization, or multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), important outcomes that parents worry about. Additionally, neither trial met the 50% efficacy requirement established by the FDA for approval of adult COVID vaccines. More puzzling is the fact that ... the pediatric vaccines now being administered target an outdated variant.

This Minecraft library is making censored journalism accessible all over the world "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Minecraft has established itself as a cultural phenomenon for many reasons: it's creative, collaborative, and sufficiently facile as to be considered accessible to almost anybody. These benefits ... form the perfect vehicle for Reporters Without Borders' Uncensored Library, a virtual hub housing a collection of otherwise inaccessible journalism from all over the world, with specific sections devoted to Russia, Egypt, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. "In Egypt there's no free information," Reporters Without Borders media and public relations officer Kristin Bsse tells me. Mexico is the country where journalists are most at risk, she adds, with governmental and cartel interference often culminating in the death of those voices deemed dissident. "It's a different form of censorship," Bsse explains. "People don't want to publish because they're scared." "In the Mexico room we built memorials to 12 Mexican journalists who have been murdered," [said Blockworks managing director James] Delaney. Delaney tells me that the forms of censorship in Egypt are more blatant. "The articles you see in this room are actually banned," he explains. "If you live in Egypt you're unable to access them unless you come to our Minecraft server." This is the case for the Russian, Vietnamese, and Saudi Arabian sections, too. "The content you find in these rooms is illegal, but we can see from the server logins that we've already had people from all five of these countries join and read up on this information," he says.

How to Fix TwitterAnd All of Social Media "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Those debating the future of Twitter and other social-media platforms have largely fallen into two opposing camps. One supports individuals' absolute freedom of speech; the other holds that speech must be modulated through content moderation, and by tweaking the ways in which information spreads. Both sides are peddling an equally dismal vision. My purpose here is to point out a logical third option. In this approach, a platform would require users to form groups through free association, and then to post only through those groups. This simple, powerful notion could help us escape the dilemma of supporting online speech. Platforms like Facebook and Reddit have similar structuresgroups and subredditsbut those are for people who share notifications and invitations to view and post in certain places. The groups I'm talking about, sometimes called "mediators of individual data" or "data trusts," are different: Members would share both good and bad consequences with one another, just like a group shares the benefits and responsibilities of a loan in microlending. This mechanism has emerged naturally ... on the software-development platform GitHub. Whatever its size, each group will be self-governing. Some will have a process in place for reviewing items before they are posted. Others will let members post as they see fit. It will be a repeat of the old story of people building societal institutions and dealing with unavoidable trade-offs, but people will be doing this on their own terms.

Can We Build Less Biased Medical Bots? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Avery Smith ... and LaToya, a podiatrist, tied the knot in 2008. A year and a half into their marriage ... she was diagnosed with Stage 2A Melanoma. A minor surgical procedure is usually enough to cure it. But the following 18 months were revealing for Smith; on December 9th, 2011, LaToya died. He was left scarred by the experience: "I learned about going through illness while being Black," he says. Today, over a decade later, Smith is putting his skills as a software developer to work in an effort to end the racial bias and inequity in skin care that contributed to his wife's death. In 2021, he launched Melalogic, a Baltimore-based startup that provides skin health resources to people with dark skin. A 2016 study shows that the five-year survival rate of Black people with skin cancer is 65 percent, compared to 92 percent for white people. The problem is rooted in racial inequities and biases in medical research and technology. In skin cancers, for instance, AI systems have been used to drastically improve diagnosis. However, these are mostly helpful to white people because diagnostic AI datasets are trained with images of white skin. Smith teamed up with dermatologist Dr. Adewole Adamson to conduct a research project, endorsed by the American Medical Association, on machine learning and health care disparities in dermatology. It was from the research's findings that Smith conceived Melalogic, an app ... dedicated to providing Black people with skin health resources.

On Novocain "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

From the collection of the State Library of New South Wales. Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Ive been clean for over twenty years. Let me give you an example of the kind of problem addiction is, the scale of the thing. In April 2019 I went to the dentist. I had a mild ache in a molar. He said the whole tooth was totally rotted all the way through, that they couldnt do anything more with it. It was hopeless. The tooth was a total piece of shit and would have to be extracted. He gave me the number of a dental surgeon and I called and made an appointment. I talked to my dad, whod had many teeth extracted, and he told me it was no big deal. When I got to the dental surgeons office I told him that Im a recovering addict, and that I wanted to avoid opiate painkillers. He looked in my mouth and when he got out he said, Youre going to need opiate painkillers.

Then he shot me up with Novocain and he went in there with a wrench, and I realized that dentists have soft, delicate hands and seem like doctors, like intellectuals, but when you really need dental care, you go to a dental surgeon and their main qualification is brute physical strength.

This guy had white hair and arms the size of my legs, and he put the pliers on me and wrenched and wrenched and wrenched, and despite the Novocain, the pain was like a hundred Hitlers gnawing on my nerves, gnawing them right down to the roots and then just sinking Nazi teeth up to the hilt in my brain. There was blood everywhere. I was making horrible sounds out of my throat, and the dental surgeon was saying just hold on for one more second, saying it through gritted teeth, and I was writhing in my chair with tears pouring out of my eyes.

Then it w...

Van Dyck Painting Bought for 600 Dollars Sells for Three Million at Auction

The Van Dyck study which just sold for three million dollars. (Photo: Sotheby's)

In the late-20th century, someone discovered a mysterious, beautiful painting in a farm shed in Kinderhook, New York. The oil on wood work depicted a slouched, nude man. Purchased originally for $600, the painting was later identified by scholars as an early study by Anthony van Dyck in preparation for his work St. Jerome. With this recognition, it recently sold for an impressive $3.1 million at a Sotheby's auction.

The person who found [the painting], Albert B. Roberts, was a passionate collector of lost' pieces, describing his collection as an orphanage for lost art that had suffered from neglect,' said Sotheby's. Art historian Susan J. Barnes identified it as a surprisingly well preserved work by Van Dyck, the Flemish Renaissance painter who lived from 1599 to 1641. The work is a rare early study between 1615 and 1618. At the time, the young artist was working alongside the incredible Peter Paul Rubens in Antwerp.

Put up for auction by Robert's estate, the painting's profits gave back to the artistic community. Part of the proceeds was donated to the Albert B. Roberts Foundation Inc, which supports artists. Works by Agnolo Bronzino, Titian (who influenced Van Dyck), and Melchior de Hondecoeter also sold at the auction.

The final painting for which the Van Dyck was a study can be viewed at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Van Dycks' other works, including richly detailed...

At Northern Lightning 2023, Norway May Offer The Wildest Bitcoin Experience Yet "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Norway is putting on a major Bitcoin conference with high-signal speakers, topped off with an otherworldly rave running on Lightning.

This is an opinion editorial by Erik Dale, an organizer of the upcoming Northern Lightning Conference and host of a Scandinavian Bitcoin podcast.

Source

Scandinavia may not be the first region that comes to mind when you think of Bitcoin, but tiny Norway has become the biggest bitcoin mining hub in Europe.

With less than 0.07% of world population, the Norwegians churn out nearly 3% of Bitcoins global hash rate, mostly thanks to cheap, stranded and renewable hydropower in the north.

And now, Norway is hosting the worlds most Bitcoin experience (sic): Northern Lightning 2023.

A Pure-Signal Conference

Northern Lightning 2023 will take place in Bergen, Norway from March 17 to 19, from the 17th to the 19th of March, and the Norwegians are going all out, it seems.

Everything has been designed for and by Bitcoiners, from the keynotes, to the food, to the parties, to the merch. Merch will be limited to 21 numbered copies, of course. Our vision is to create an annual, intimate experience bringing Bitcoin to a new Nordic city each year, until hyperbitcoinization is achieved and beyond.

Mind-Bending Gate Design Is an Optical Illusion Extending Back Into Space

Optical Illusion Gate

Photo: Wikimedia Commons (Public domain)

A gate in Vienna, Austria, is an optical illusion. Utilizing a one-point perspective, it appears to extend back into space and makes it look like the actual wrought iron gate is much farther down the path. But thanks to its clever use of line and scale, it all sits on a flat plane.

The mind-bending gate leads to the grounds of the Theresianum Academy, a private boarding and day school founded in 1746 by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. It has more than 100 students ranging from elementary school to upper school (high school).

The trompe-l'il embedded within the gate is a great lesson in perspective for the students. It demonstrates how one point can trick our eye into thinking that something is farther away than it actually is. They can see this in practice when the gate opens; the extended landscape is not protruding into the distance. It's right in front of them, all at once.

A mind-bending wrought iron gate design in Vienna, Austria, uses a one-point perspective to create the illusion of depth.

Deep State Absolutely Wants to Kill You Alex Newman "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

By Greg Hunters USAWatchdog.com  Award-winning journalist Alex Newman, author of the popular books Deep State and Crimes of the Educators, predicted at the beginning is this year that the Deep State demons will have one crisis after another to keep people confused and afraid.  The latest crisis is the economic and ecological disaster in East Palestine, Ohio.  Newman says expect many more disasters and explains, All across the country we are seeing very bizarre things happen.  Factories and chemical plants going up in flames, food processing facilities blowing up, airplanes crashing in mysterious ways, and I think we are heading into an era of really serious crisis.  Last summer, I was putting together the wave of crises that the Deep State was preparing for us, and one of the terms I used was polycrisis.  Then, right before the World Economic Forum meeting this year, they actually put on their website is 2023 the year of the polycrisis?  Of course, it will be the year of the polycrisis.  I think we are prepared and being groomed for cyber-attacks, currency crisis, economic crisis and, of course, Russia/Ukraine and China/Taiwan.  I think all of this is going to be used for a series of never-ending crises until we are ready to give up our freedoms, give up our national sovereignty and self-government, and move towards this crazy totalitarian, technocratic system they want. Newman says its not going to be a kind transition for most people.  Newman says, The thing that is so hard for people to understand is that there are very powerful people that are working together, and they absolutely want to kill you.  That is not speculation.  These people have been openly saying for a century that they believe there are too many people on this planet. . . .  The eugenics movement never died.  Margaret Sanger, the Rockefellers, Dr. Joseph Mengele was funded by the Rockefeller dynasty.  These people are very much still around.  Bill Gates is the perfect example.  His dad was on the board of Planned Parenthood, the largest butcher of unborn babies in America. . . . Why Bitcoin Mining Needs Stratum V2 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Bitcoin mining is centralizing, but how real is the risk of network censorship? And can a protocol called Stratum V2 save the industry?

This is an opinion editorial by Federico Rivi, author of the Bitcoin Train newsletter.

Source

Bitcoin mining within everyone's reach: household appliances, wearable devices such as smartwatches and smart glasses, all capable of mining with specialized microchips. This is the future that many Bitcoiners hope for.

While such a scenario might not be so far from the reality that awaits us, today we are still in Bitcoins genesis chapter and the reality is not yet as Antonopoulos predicted. In fact, mining is centralizing.

Last month, Foundry USA coordinated 34% of the hash rate alone. If we add Antpool, whose share is 18.2% of total hash rate, we have 52% of Bitcoin's global computational power in the hands of just two mining pools.

Pointing out the problem with this centralization recently was the well-known Bitcoin developer Peter Todd:

Bitcoin is dead. Mining is over. They will regulate Bitcoin. Censorship will come.

I can hear you already, but we should remain calm. To understand what the implications are and what the solutions are we need to take a step back and review the concept of pool mining.

The Evolution Of Pool Mining

Would you rather receive $100,000 once every five years or $20,000 once a year? The answer to this question by most explains the emergence of mining pools.

In the long run, the payout is the same, what changes is the frequency with which the payment is received. In a highly-competitive environment like mining, this is crucial. It can determine the survival or bankruptcy of mining farms that regardless of the change in the price of bitcoin must keep machines running by paying for electricity, as well as any loans taken out to purchase hardware or other expenses.

A mining pool is a server, usually run by a company, that unites mining farms and individual miners located in different areas, pooling their computing resources and combining them as the product of a single team, participating in the competition that is bitcoin mining. The high comp...

The Dos & Donts of Driving to East Berlin During the Cold War: A Weird Piece of Ephemera from the 1980s "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

As generations have come of age with few or no memories of the existence of the Soviet Union, a common misconception about Berlin has become more common. Because the German capital was divided between the former East and West Germany, its easy to assume that it must have lay on the border between the two states. In fact, the whole of Berlin, East and West, was completely surrounded by East Germany, and to drive from West Germany to West Berlin entailed more than 100 miles on the autobahn through Soviet territory. How, exactly, this was done is fully explained in Destination Berlin, the 1988 video from the Royal Military Police above.

You do not need to worry about the trip, says the northern-accented narrator, an announcement that  rather undercuts it own intended message. And few drivers, affiliated with the British military or otherwise, could watch the material that follows without speculating on the host of false moves that could result in an involuntary extended stay on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain.

He Ordered Something His Stepsister Didnt Want to Eat. Is He a Jerk? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

I guess it makes some sort of sense, but people sure do get all worked up about food, dont they?

You know thats the truth!

And this story from the Am I the A**hole? page on Reddit is yet another example of someone getting testy about their food order

Lets see what happened this time.

AITA for ordering something my stepsister didnt want to eat?

My (25M) dad remarried 4 years ago.

He has custody of my sister (full-sibling, (16F) fri to sun and he also has two step-children (A 16F and B 12F), I visit my dad on the weekends to see my sister, my dad and I dont have the best relationship, but I love my sister with all my heart so Im doing my best to still be around.

My step-sister is heavily obsessed with korean and japanese culture, full k-pop, anime and things like that, theres nothing wrong with it and Im not bashing her, both my sister and I like it too, the problem is that this obsession has caused her to ONLY eat asian food, and since shes mommys girl and my dad has prioritized his new family over my sister, thats the only thing they eat (theyre NOT asian).

My sister has told me that shes done, she missed having hamburgers, pizzas, pasta, etc but that she cant eat them at dads and with mom she does it very rarely because my mom cooks and she doesnt do this things every week (moms mexican so she cooks mexican stuff).

My dad order take out almost every weekend (and yeah, they mostly order sushi and stuff like that), this weekend was my turn to pay, my step-sister and step-mom were talking about some korean restaurant and things like that.

But I looked at my sister and asked her whatd she wanted to eat, she said she h...

She Refuses to Take Her Daughter to Her Ex-husbands Wedding. Is She Wrong? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Uh ohhere we go again with a dramatic story that involves people getting into it with each other over whats going to happen (or not happen) at a weddingit never ends!

And you better believe that it came from someone on Reddits Am I the A**hole? page!

Check out what happened here and let us know what you think in the comments.

AITA for refusing to take my daughter to my ex husbands wedding?

My (42F) ex husband (45M) and I were together for 20 years. We had a beautiful daughter together, Joceline (14F). We got a divorce 5 years ago due to infidelity on his part. I was devastated.

He was the love of my life and he betrayed all of the trust and loyalty we had built up. To make matters worse, he ended up in a relationship with the woman he cheated on me with. They got engaged one year later and are set to be married in two weeks. Honestly, I still am heartbroken over my divorce. Its hurtful to me that we were together for 20 years, and he could just go fall in love with someone else, as if I was nothing.

However, Joceline was only 9 when we divorced, and hes a great father so I would never want to come in between their bond. Joceline loves his fiance as shes very sweet to her, but she doesnt know the reason why her dad and I divorced, I want to tell her when shes a bit older and he doesnt want to tell her at all.

Anyways, I compromised with him that Joceline could come to the wedding, but that he would have to provide the transportation to and from the wedding, as I want no part of it. I dont want to drop my daughter off at his wedding, I dont want to see all the decorations and the happy guests, itd just be too much for me. I didnt tell him all of that obviously, but he agreed.

Today he calls me and asks if he can ask...

Man Asks if Hes Wrong for Telling His Daughter He Wont Pay Her Tuition Unless She Has a Relationship With His Family "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Ive heard quite a few stories from people over the years about certain conditions they had to accept in order for their parents to pay their college tuition.

And I guess that makes sense in specific situations.

But this one is a little bit different and this father wants to know if hes an a**hole for what hes asking of his daughter.

Check out his story below.

AITA for telling my daughter I wont be paying for her college unless she attempts a relationship with my family?

I (38M) have a 19 year old daughter Ariel with my ex-wife Lauren (39F). We had Ariel too young, and it was a huge struggle.

We moved into Laurens familys. I was working multiple jobs. Me and Lauren were best friends thru all this. But things ended when Ariel was 2. Laurens friend Tori (38F) told me that Lauren had been messaging guys and when they went out she would give out her number. I checked Laurens phone and found it. I asked for a divorce, Lauren was p**sed and wanted to reconcile. I didnt and got split custody.

Lauren made my life hell. Lauren bad mouthed me, would miss pick up times and make decisions without talking to me. Her dad offered money to relinquish custody, I told him off. Ariel is now 19 and just started college. The deal was me and her mom would split it.

I remarried Tori when Ariel was 6. Tori was a rock during the divorce but we didnt date till 2 years later. Lauren used this to warp Ariel against Tori and our son (13M). She excludes them. Whenever she spends the night she will just talk to me or go to her room if my family was around. Our son walks to the basement if she comes over.

It hurts me a lot. Ive spent thousands on therapy before people bring that up. It still is being utilized. But at t...

The period of the end of the 1950s and beginning of the 60s was a turning point for African anti-colonial struggles as African nations were forming. In 1956, Tunisia became one of the first countries to gain independence. Tunisias first president, Habib Bourguiba, was a fervent supporter of African independences. In 1960, he hosted the second All African Peoples Conference in the nations capital, Tunis, a historical gathering of the heads of newly independent African states as well as representatives of anticolonial political organizations from the continent.

The All African Peoples Conference was first organized by President Kwame Nkrumah in Accra, Ghana. It took place on April 15, 1958, which was celebrated as Africa Day. In 1961 and 1962 the prominent Tunisian artists Hatem El Mekki and Jellal Ben Abdallah, respectively, each designed a stamp on the occasion of Africa Day. A journalist who interviewed El Mekki noted that the artist sought to represent Africa through his stamp, writing, To him, Africa is black and white, it is solidarity and support, brotherhood and friendship. Mysterious 30-Foot-Long Tunnel Found Inside Giza Pyramid "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A team of researchers has discovered a mysterious 30-foot-long cavity inside Egypts Great Pyramid of Giza. Also called the Khufu Pyramid, the structure is the oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world and the only one that exists today. Scholars still do not know exactly how the 4,500 year-old-pyramid was built, but scientists say the new finding could offer valuable clues.

The 30-foot passageway is around six-and-a-half feet wide and six-and-a-half feet tall and is sealed at either end. It is located near the Great Pyramids main access point, where tourists enter to view Pharaoh Khufus burial chamber. After centuries of plunder, the chamber is now barren except for an empty granite sarcophagus.

Historians are not entirely sure about the purpose of the newly discovered tunnel. According to the head of Egypts Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri, who...

Man Finds Well-Endowed Celtic Bronze Figurine "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

After 25 years of metal detecting, 69-year-old Paul Shepheard made the find of a lifetime when he came across a small bronze artifact with an enormous phallus in the village of Haconby in Lincolnshire county, England. Now, the figurine is headed to Noonans Mayfair in London for auction next week.

Shepheard found the figurine 10 inches deep (no pun intended) in the soil of a stubble field during a metal detecting rally last September. He initially mistook the two-inch object as a split pin until closer inspection revealed that it was a figurine of a nude man with a disproportionately large penis on a hinge component for up-and-down movement.

ISTANBUL For the past five years, the modest white two-story villa that houses Mordem Sanat has been a place where the local community in Diyarbakr could watch a theatrical performance or a film screening, take a dance or a yoga class, or participate in all kinds of art workshops for adults and children alike. With events in both Kurdish and Turkish, it was an oasis amid political strife and repression for artists in the predominantly Kurdish city in southeastern Turkey.

That figurative refuge became a literal one on February 6, when a 7.8-magnitude earthquake, followed hours later by one of 7.5 magnitude, tore the broader region apart. Thousands of buildings collapsed across Diyarbakr and nine other provinces in Turkey, killing more than 51,000 people, including over 6,000 deaths in neighboring...

Where has the joy of togetherness gone?

Can no longer find it these days with a yawn

The bleakness on the road to oblivion Im on

Just trying to get a few minutes of sleep before dawn,

The Number One Relationship Killer, According to Researchers Who Studied Couples for 50 Years "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

There are a lot of dysfunctional habits that will destroy your relationship, however, after decades of research, Dr. John Gottman has found one major contributor. The even crazier thing is this likely is not what you had imagined.

If I asked you what the number one relationship killer was, what would you say? Most people would say things like infidelity, a lack of sex, a lack of quality time, and maybe even a lack of trust. However, none of those are the right answers. Gottman, after carrying out a multitude of studies on over 40,000 couples, says contempt is the number one relationship killer.

Gottman also says it is worth considering a total of four problematic types of relationship communication:

1. Contempt.
2. Criticism.
3. Defensiveness.
4. Stonewalling.

Contempt, Gottman says, is the number one predictor of divorce or separation. Contempt is much like hatred. It is a form of communication and a state of mind that can leave your partner feeling unloved and unwanted.

One example of this is lets say that one spouse is trying to talk with someone, but every time they say something, their partner has something underhanded or hateful to interject towards their partner. While we all hold our partners in contempt from time to time, when contempt becomes a regular occurrence, Gottman says the relationship could be doomed.

The odd thing about contempt is that instead of the two partners working together, contempt can push them not only further apart, but also put them in a war zone. However, contempt is not just bad for relationships, research has also pointed out that contempt can harm our health. Based on the research, when people hold others in contempt in their communication, they have a higher likelihood of ending up with a major disease like heart disease or cancer.

If you feel like you and your partner may be holding each other in contempt, it may be helpful to sit down and face negative feelings together. Additionally, if you want your relationship to survive, Gottman says it is of the utmost importance to let your partner know they are appreciated and to be sure to show it on the regular.

10 Benefits of Staying Single That Most People Dont Realize "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Our society tends to place immense pressure on us to find someone and find our happily ever after. While this works for some, it just isnt for everyone.

While relationships are great, there are a lot of benefits to staying single. So, if you havent found your happily ever after yet, or do not even really care to find one at all, dont dismay. You do not have to have a partner to live a good life. You can be single and still live your best life.

Here are 10 benefits to staying single you may not have even thought of.

1. You can spend more time finding yourself.

While many people focus on finding a partner, you could be spending that time finding yourself. I spent much of my earlier years, worried that I would never find Mr. Right. However, when I started focusing on growth and self-love, it no longer mattered.

2. You can flirt with whomever you wish.

When you are in a relationship, you have to settle with one person. Buuuuuut, if you remain single, you can enjoy as many people as you wish. It can be fun to date around and just enjoy it, instead of worrying about committing.

3. Travel anyone?

If you are in a relationship, it can be hard to travel. Your partner may not be in a position to travel, or they may not want to travel. However, when you are single, you can go wherever you please.

4. Hello, career!

Many people choose to remain single because they want to focus on their careers. Yes, you can focus on your career if you have a partner, but we only have so much focus to give. Oftentimes, when we spread ourselves thin, we are less likely to get what we want from our focus. Staying single allows you more of your focus to pour into your career.

5. You dont have to share your home with someone else.

Living with others, even if you love them, is no cakewalk. You have to get used to dealing with another persons issues and lets be real, people are difficult. Even we are difficult. However, if you choose to remain single, you dont have to worry about dealing with living with someone else.

6. You can focus on other relationships.

Our romantic relationships are not the only ones that matter. If you have family, friends, and pets, then you know all too well that those relationships are important too. When you choose to stay single, you can spend more time with them.

7. You can rest peacefully.

Sleeping with another person can be nice sometimes, but even if the cuddles are awesome, after a while, most people like their space in the bed. Unfortunately, if one of you sleeps like a starfish and the other does not, it can make sleeping a struggle. Not to mention different body temps and different movements.

8. You can focus on your dreams.

While career aspirations and relationship aspirations are the most typical, those are not the only dreams you can have. When you choo...

Why Many Marriages Could Benefit From A Third "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Our society tends to make us believe that our partner is responsible for fulfilling all of our needs, so when we dont feel satisfied with our life, we believe our partner has failed us in some way. We spend almost our lives trying to find the perfect person, yet when we do finally get the girl or guy, they always fall short.

One person is not able to meet all of your needs every moment of every day. Its completely unrealistic to think they can. Recently, in a Psychology Today piece, the author tells a story about himself and a girl that he met in a workshop. He states he spent three days flirting and trying to win her over, only to be told, Youre a wonderful man. I could easily fall in love with you. But I am married. I fall in love twice a week and take all that energy and channel it into my marriage.

Then, he states that she walked away, and the two never crossed paths again. It was only later in life that he realized that this woman was utilizing the power of a third in her relationship.

When our partners do not fulfill our needs, we can go a few directions: we can either give up on fulfilling our needs, force our partner to (a toxic dynamic) or we can outsource.

When you outsource, you are bringing in a third. While in many cases, the third is a literal person, it doesnt have to be. It can also be a hobby, something you are passionate about, or something that gives you purpose.

Losing yourself to a third can ultimately lead to betrayal, and it can jeopardize the boundaries of your relationship. However, if you can master finding a healthy balance with this third party, without betraying your partner and while keeping things completely healthy. If you can master this fine line, you can achieve true satisfaction.

6 Subtle Signs Of Female Autism "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that can impact behavior, communication, and learning. In the U.S. around 2.2% of the population has ASD and of those, it is more common among men.

However, up until recently, the majority of autism research has been carried out on men or boys, so there is another theory that women are just simply not represented enough in the literature and research. One thing we do know for sure is that autism presents differently in women than it does in men, which can often lead to misdiagnosis.

Below, I will go over some of the lesser talked about symptoms of a female with autism.

1. Easily socially exhausted.

Women with autism tend to mask their symptoms better than men. Due to this, many people may not even realize that someone they are dealing with is autistic. However, this can make it much harder to deal with social situations, because ultimately, what happens is, socializing becomes a lot of work.

2. Feeling different.

Women with autism may experience feeling differently. In some cases, they may feel the urge to hide who they are, and over time, to fit in, they will adopt the mannerisms of people in pop culture to cover their autistic traits. Deep down, they may realize they are different, but struggle to understand why.

3. Extreme sensitivity to sensory.

The world is much different for an autistic person than it is for someone who is neurotypical. Extreme sensory sensitivity is common among the autistic population. You see, autism can make you have a heightened sense of awareness for sounds, smells, lights, and even touch.

4. Obsessive traits.

Men and women alike tend to have specialized and very focused interests. In most cases, the autistic mind is geared to have a what if- then mindset, which drives them to understand how things work. When something catches their interest, they will learn as much as they can about it. Men with autism are more hyper-fixated on one or two interests, while women can have a wide range of subjects they are obsessed with.

5. Meltdowns caused by sensory overload.

Those affected by ASD can easily become overwhelmed by bright lights, loud noises, or other sensory input. This can lead them to feel distracted or overwhelmed. Women with this disorder tend to be able to cope a little bit better than men and can push through their obstacles in most cases due to masking.

6. Emotional dysregulation.

Women who have ASD tend to feel somewhat emotionally dysregulated. This can make it hard for them to control their emotions during some moments, but they are also great at regulating their emotions during other times. One common theme is difficulty in understanding what they are feeling or connecting physical ailments to their emotions.

7. A need for certainty.

Women with ASD thrive when they feel like their routine is p...

Losing A Child Will Leave You Changed Forever, According To Study "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

In a study titled Long-Term Effects of the Death of a Child on Parents Adjustment in Midlife, a group of researchers set out to understand how much of an impact the loss of a could cause. What they found, was that when parents lose a child, the effects can follow them throughout their lives.

Losing a child is an extremely traumatic event, and perhaps one of the most traumatic things a person can endure. Every year, over 50,000 U.S. Children die, according to the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics. One of the hardest problems, the researchers write, is the dissolution of the attachment relationship with the child, because it elicits severe anxiety and other negative feelings associated with loss.

Additionally, the authors write, extreme guilt can follow the death of a child. Many parents blame themselves for not being able to protect their children. Ultimately, the fact is that it is not the order of things for a child to die before their parents. The natural order is that children lose their parents (optimally well into their adult years, instead of the other way around.)

Even with it being understood how much the loss of a child impacts their parents, the research is still pretty limited. In order to carry out this particular study, the researchers identified 530 participants who reported the loss of their child in a collection of data in 1992. They observed these parents for decades and what they found was that even well into their lives, many of the individuals suffered from depressive symptoms, struggled to find purpose in life, and has a decreased sense of psychological well-being.

Additionally, the majority of the participants experienced health conditions, such as high blood pressure, shortness of breath, and acute angina.

One thing the researchers wrote that I found extremely worth noting is that most parents did not seek out specialized interventions for bereavement. Due to the fact that this was lacking across the board, the researchers wondered if there was some form of helpful intervention for parental grief and if they may have better outcomes.

Were U.S. Interstates Designed To Function As Emergency Runways? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

No one knows exactly how rumors get started. Sometimes theyre quickly debunked and go away, but other times they persist like the idea that United States highways were intentionally designed to function as emergency runways.

Were not sure where it actually came from, but the idea seems to stem from legislation that was passed in the 1940s. There have always been arguments on both sides, like the common sense need for emergency runways and the fact that there are many highways too hilly or small to work for military aircraft.

Secrets Of The Shadow Government: Behind The Green Door Former US ARMY, Mary Beaver "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Mary Beaver comes from a multi-generational US Army family where her father and grandfather served in the Army and were involved in classified programs that led to Mary being identified at a young age as a person of interest. Mary's great uncle (her grandmother's brother) was General Walter Bedell Smith, General Eisenhower's deputy during WWII and a former CIA Director (1950-1953). Mary possessed unique abilities such as being able to speak, write and understand ancient languages such as Phoenician. She was subsequently handed off by her father/grandparents to classified programs where she claims to being age progressed and regressed up to five times from age four to seven, for service in secret space programs. Mary subsequently served for eight years in the US Army where her involvement in classified projects continued due to her detailed knowledge of the ancient Phoenician language. She was given access to secure vaults where ancient artifacts were stored and also saw a captured giant being tortured to death. After completing her Army service, Mary was "ghosted" as she knew too much. Nevertheless she possesses several documents and pictures supporting her claim of military service. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=GVSLykM1NHY&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR2p37PCQYJxGun2Jp4q_EVrDYippHLBKewuYYy8rD306pfRSlDNziO3BNc

Lost Dog Finds Its Way Back to Former Animal Shelter, Rings the Doorbell for Help

Lost Dog Finds Its Way Back to Animal Shelter

There are many stories about lost dogs being able to find their owners. In one pup's case, she was only at her new home for a month before she accidentally broke free of her harness. Still unfamiliar with her situation, the dog, named Bailey, took a route back to the place she had called home for many months before: her old animal shelter.

Prior to her adoption, Bailey had one of the longest stays at the Animal Rescue League of El Paso until she finally found a forever home several miles away from the facility. Then, as Bailey was being fitted for a new harness, a loud noise spooked her. She broke free from her owner's hold and escaped down the street. She got out of his sight, Loretta Hyde, founder of the Animal Rescue League, explained. He let us know that Bailey was loose, so we asked for people to be on the lookout.

Bailey was spotted across the area over the course of several days, each time nearing closer to the shelter. For whatever reason, it felt to me that she was on her way here, Hyde said. I said, Shes coming back to the shelter. Then, at about 1:30 in the morning, the shelter staff got a notification from their doorbell about a very unexpected visitor standing in front of the door. Apparently, Bailey had navigated the streets until she found her way to a place she knew well.

The owner was notified the next day and they were happily reunited. And while Bailey is happy with her new pet parent, it is clear that the animal shelter still holds a special place in her heart.

A recently adopted dog was able to find her way back to the animal shelter after getting lost.

Incredible Light-Sensitive Mural Comes Alive at Night

Light Sensitive Mural in Spain by Reskate Studio

Eulalia mural at night, 20222023. Mrida, Extremaruda, Spain.

Mara Lpez and Javier de Riba are the creative force behind the Spain-based art collective Reskate Studio. Originally formed to upcycle discarded skateboards, they have since applied their unique vision to a range of disciplines. One of their most recent endeavors is called the Harreman Project, from the Basque word for relationship. Inspired by reminiscence and etymology, it features striking murals that light up after dark.

Each work in the series is created with photo-luminescent paint to enhance a particular element of the design at night. Through the use of lights, the observer becomes an active participant; interacting with the work and creating its response to those actions, Reskate Studio explains. By these interventions in the public space the intention is to light up dark corners of cities, both installing new lights and encouraging citizens to interact with the wall, painting with light on it.

Their newest addition to the Harreman Project is titled Eulalia, meaning well-spoken in Greek. It is painted on the faade of a tall white building and depicts a young female figure holding a potted plant. The subject is based on Eulalia, the patron saint of the Spanish town Mrida (Extremadura), and freedom of expression. She was a girl, who in the 4th century, at the age of 12, confronted the established power to demand freedom and respect for her beliefs, Reskate Studio continues. The governor of Lusitania rejected her opinion and tortured her in retaliation. It is said that a mist a...

Artist Paints Architectural Portraits Onto Concrete Fragments of Same Demolished Estate

Paintings on Concrete by Harriet Mena Hill

Sometimes the choice of materials is just as meaningful as the art itself. Artist Harriet Mena Hill has been working on an ongoing series of unorthodox paintings called The Aylesbury Fragments, rendering scenes of architecture directly onto pieces of concrete. Each of these remnants is salvaged material from the Aylesbury Estate, a large housing complex in South East London, which is being demolished as part of a regeneration program.

Hill finds a way to record snippets of the dismantled buildings on numerous shards of concrete, which range from palm-sized to nearly the length of a human torso. The inspiration for what she paints derives from the stories of residents who used to live in these torn-down apartments. I started making work about the Aylesbury Estate in response to my experience of working with the residents on art projects back in 2018, Hill tells My Modern Met. The Aylesbury Fragments document what remains of the occupied parts of the estate as it undergoes regeneration. The concrete pieces that Hill uses come from a block of flats called Chiltern which was demolished in 2020.

The Aylesbury Estate was designed by architect Hans Peter Fenton and constructed between 1963 and 1977. It consisted of 2,700 dwellings that housed about 10,000 residents at one time. During the 1980s, however, the site went through a period of disrepair, eventually prompting the beginning of a regeneration program in 2005. I wanted to present the human and community side of the estate which has historically experienced an extremely negative portrayal in the press, Hill explains. The works offer an opportunity to do so.

The United States V. China: The Mystery behind the Expanding War "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

A War doesnt have to be publicly declared or mutually agreed upon by both of the participants. The United States should be keenly aware of this, considering our corporeal and civic annihilation of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya to name a few. Would any of these countries agree to be bitch-slapped back into a feudal age if they couldve avoided it?

The authoritarian regime in China has engaged in a subversive war on the American citizenry, whether the Biden administration will admit to this or not. Is Biden reluctant to address Chinas complicity in the fatal poisoning of U.S. civilians because hes colluded with the corrupt nation so often?

Chinas unrelenting assault on young Americans with copious amounts of fentanyl has eradicated tens of thousands in recent years. Biden refuses to return volley for this attack and has aided in its efficiency by recklessly opening our borders. In comparison, the Bush regime slaughtered millions in recompense for the murder of just three-thousand on 9/11, most of which were unwitting, Middle Eastern dirt-farmers.

Apart from poisoning thousands of remiss young adults and irrevocably destabilizing their families, the Chinese have been purchasing land around key American military installations.

As disturbing as a communist land grab surrounding American military bases might appear, it pales in comparison to other occurrences. Recently, Chinese surveillance operations have been acknowledged to exist in several of our citys.

These surveillance hubs are littered throughout the densely populated areas of communist China and they infect every nook and cranny of its society. It seems unfathomable, however, to imagine these subversive intelligence agencies operating in the United States. If American citizens are privy to this alarming development, then its safe to say that our officials mustve known for years.

The Chi-com infiltration of our cities and around our military bases is only astounding when taken out of context. The reality is that we are voluntarily tied at the hip with Chinas oppressive regime.

Just take a stroll to the nearest bargain superstore and youll discover 99% of its products are made in China. Is there any other time in history when the United States was so interdependent with such a formidable enemy?

What about uber-wealthy Americans like Lebron James?

Prescott Bush, the patriarch of the murderous Bush clan, was documented to be a Nazi sympathizer and was fiscally invested with them well after we declared war on Germany. This begs t......

work.... "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

As we learn more and more that money is fake, shouldn't we ask ourselves why we're willing to trade real, hard, honest work for fake money.

If the money is fake, shouldn't the work be fake?

Then, if the answer to that question is 'yes', then we must ask ourselves....

What does fake work look like?

To answer my own question, I guess it looks like a youtube video, or a tik tok video, or a government official asking the Federal Reserve for a billion dollars.

Then we should ask ourselves,...

Half-a-million Egyptians victims of Bitcoin fraud

Thousands of Egyptians were the victims of fraud by a fictitious online platform that promoted itself as a Bitcoin investment vehicle, according to a report on Thursday by London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi.

"Hogpool" collected millions of Egyptian pounds from users over a seven-month period, before those responsible for the company shut down the website and disappeared.

The fake company was set up in August by specialists in electronic fraud, the report stated.

It lured users in by offering them small returns on initial investments, before roping them into "a circle of fraud". The website was promoted by paid social media influencers.

At least 600,000 Egyptians had subscribed to the platform by the time of its sudden closure.

Several subscribers filed a complaint to Egypt's attorney general, accusing the fraudulent company of "seizing their m...

10 myths told by COVID experts and now debunked "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

More to share with your friends, from the New York Post no less: In the past few weeks, a series of analyses published by highly respected researchers have exposed a truth about public health officials during COVID: Much of the time, they were wrong. To be clear, public health officials were not wrong for making recommendations based on what was known at the time. Thats understandable. You go with the data you have. No, they were wrong because they refused to change their directives in the face of new evidence. When a study did not support their policies, they dismissed it and censored opposing opinions. At the same time, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention weaponized research itself by putting out its own flawed studies in its own non-peer-reviewed medical journal, MMWR. In the final analysis, public health officials actively propagated misinformation that ruined lives and forever damaged public trust in the medical profession. Here are 10 ways they misled Americans:

Misinformation #1: Natural immunity offers little protection compared to vaccinated immunity

A Lancet study looked at 65 major studies in 19 countries on natural immunity. The researchers concluded that natural immunity was at least as effective as the primary COVID vaccine series.
