Simple Vanity with Shelves and Light Up Mirror "IndyWatch Feed Diy"

diy vanity plans

simple vanity plans

Why I Built This Vanity

With 3 children getting ready for school in the morning, 2 of them being teenage girls, I wanted to create a spot outside of the bathroom so they had another option for doing their hair and makeup. Since building the vanity, the girls have used it everyday and it's made a huge difference with their morning routine. My only regret is not building it sooner! I bought the mirror first and then built the hutch to fit. LINK TO MIRROR SHOWN HERE

Free Vanity Plans

The plans for this vanity follow.  This is a super simple build, using 1x12 boards and simple joints.

CFTC Commissioner On Innovation, Commodities And Misconceptions About Bitcoin Regulation "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersigner discusses the inevitability of innovation and clears up the agencys role in bitcoin regulation.

In light of recent events, many in the Bitcoin community are looking for regulatory clarity now more than ever. Questions such as who should regulate Bitcoin? and will the U.S. allow Bitcoin innovation or pursue a central bank digital currency (CBDC)? are at the top of the list.

To learn more about the regulatory landscape for Bitcoin-focused businesses, I sat down with Summer Mersinger, the commissioner for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to get her thoughts on these issues and more. To further understand her perspective, we started with a brief background that explored her personal interest in Bitcoin. This is vital to the conversation because before commissioners can contribute meaningful policy to the Bitcoin space, Bitcoin must be understood.

Mersinger has been serving at the CFTC since 2022 after being appointed by President Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. She received her bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota and later earned a law degree from the Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. Since that time, she has spent over 20 years on Capitol Hill in a variety of positions. These range from working as an aide to South Dakota Senator John Thune, to advocating for financial technology organizations as a senior vice president at lobbying firm Smith-Free Group.

When she is off the clock, Mersinger spends time with her husband and four children; two teenage daughters and two elementary-aged sons. She describes herself as a huge animal lover, which stems from being raised on a farm. She said that she was always surrounded by animals, and its a habit she continues to this day.

Below are her thoughts regarding a variety of topics surrounding Bitcoin.

How did you first learn about Bitcoin and what specifically drew you to it?

Although I cannot recall the exact timing of when I first learned about Bitcoin, I can say that what drew me to it was the technology involved.

The CFTC, where I serve, regulates trading in derivatives products that are used for price discovery and risk management purposes. The CFTC is a technology-neutral regulator, which means, in practice, we do not view any one technology as better than any other technology. And admittedly, as regulators, we are sometimes skeptical of the new and unknow...

Angelic Support and The Nature of Benevolent Spiritual Guidance "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

From openhandweb.org: We're at a pivotal fulcrum in the shift: a clear divergence is underway, where a wave of souls are tuning into benevolence and gaining ever greater liberation; yet plenty head into a manipulated synthetic reality. The intervention is being dug up at the roots, but nevertheless, has morphed into other complexities and is still luring people into ever more sophisticated distortions. We have a veritable army of angelic support in the ether guiding us. We just need to be clear on exactly how best to tune in.

Beware the Two Different Streams of Consciousness Coming In

Many more people are waking up now as the infusion of galactic energies trigger the shift. But waking up at an intellectual level to what's going on is only the beginning. The ET Opposing Consciousness that has so derailed the planet and humanity has been dug up at the roots through the galactic alignment of 2012. But is now morphing into other shapes, sophistication and agendas - using Smart and AI to lure people into a more 'supported', 'comfortable' and 'convenient' reality. But convenient for whom?
A leopard does not change its spots overnight. Just because various players in the controlling cabal have been explosed, doesn't mean there isn't still a strong manipulating intention. The emperor has simply donned some new clothes - the eco friendly band wagon for example. The challenge is that we're being explosed through the field to two different streams of energy - one is aligned with our higher selves, the other pulling people into the controlling agendas. These two streams get enfolded into one as they come through the bodymind - no wonder so many are still being lured into excessive and dissonant consumption. Explore how to emerge from this intervention: 5D Shift Podcast
At the same time, there is a veritable 'army' of benevolence in the ether all around us, supporting the emergence of a new evolved humanity - the 5D Human. The key is to understand how that benevolence truly works, what to watch for as it comes in?

The March of Intellect: Newspaper Cartoons Satirize the Belief in Technological Progress in 1820s England "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Before the Industrial Revolution, few had occasion to consider the impact of technology on their lives. A few decades in, however, certain segments of society thought about little else. That, in any case, is the impression given by the debate over what the English press of the early nineteenth century called the March of Intellect, a label for the apparently polarizing discourse that arose from not just the development of industrial technology but the dissemination of useful knowledge that followed in its wake. Was this sort of education an engine of progress, or simply of disorder?

The March of Intellects most vivid legacy consists of a series of newspaper cartoons published in the eighteen-twenties. They depict a world, as Hunter Dukes writes at the Public Domain Review, where extravagantly dressed ladies window-shop for pastel finery and forgo stairwells in favor of belt-driven slides while a child is moments away from being paved into the road by a carriage at full gallop; where men gorge themselves on pineapples and guzzle bottles at the Champagne Depot and postmen flit around with winged capes; where even convicts have it better: they embark for New South Wales on a gargoyle zeppelin, but still have panoramic views.

If theres a secret to drawing, its that even the most challenging subjects can be broken down into simplified shapes. Doing this makes them easier to tackle, and you can build up your drawing to achieve incredible detail. Illustrator and My Modern Met contributing writer Margherita Cole knows this well; her delightful drawings showcase the power of shapes and how they are vehicles for expression. She wields their power in work often centered around comics and animal portraits.

Cole has shared her drawing expertise through many step-by-step tutorials right here on My Modern Met and in a book titled Cartooning Made Easy: Circle, Triangle, Square. Now, shes doing it another way: in her class on My Modern Met Academy. Titled Drawing 101: Learn the Building Blocks of Sketching, she shares her favorite supplies, essential techniques, and how to draw three distinctly different subjects.

Drawing 101 will teach you how to see the inherent shapes in any subject, from a house plant to a ballet dancer. Then, youll get to see Cole work on each drawing and her decision-making along the way. This is one of the most valuable aspects of the classseeing how an artist thinks as they work.

The Reason You Need To Throw Out Your Non-Stick Pan If It Has Scratches On It "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Most of us who are in the trenches cooking dinner every night for our families (or just ourselves) arent professional chefs. We choose things like non-stick cookware because its easy to use, its fairly cheap, and cleaning it is a snap but since its not the best option, learning how to care for it properly is important.

The non-stick coating is made of synthetic fluoropolymer called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), or its brand name, Teflon. According to a 2022 report, around 79% of non-stick cooking pans and 20% of non-stick baking pans were coated with PTFE.

Meticulous Flat Lays of Vintage Toys and Miniatures Celebrate the History of Play and Design "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

A flat lay photo of miniature toy hands and stickers of hands

All images Jane Housham, shared with permission

Theres a feeling I remember which has to do with the seriousness of play, when you were completely absorbed in playing a game with your toys and fully believed in the world youd created, and it really mattered, Jane Housham says. I look longingly back at that imaginative space.

A writer, artist, and self-described accumulator, Housham continually returns to the engrossing joys of childhood through a vast collection of found objects. Stickers and plastic doll hands, a pantry of non-perishable goods, and a menagerie of animals on wheels are the catalysts for her flat lays. Precisely categorized by color, shape, or theme, each composition highlights the varied styles, functions, and contexts of similar items and becomes a useful and approachable entry into the history of design. If Ive acquired a new (to me) little object, that often nudges me to revisit the category it belongs toa new tiny seahorse or radio will subtly alter the pre-existing set, and the arrangement is always fresh in any case. Seahorses and radios are particular favourites of mine, she says.

What Really Happens When We Die? A Shocking Revelation "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Death is a topic that most people dont like to think about, let alone discuss. But as the saying goes, death is the great equalizer, and its something that we will all experience at some point. While there are many theories about what happens when we die, the truth is that no one knows for sure. However, recent research and personal accounts from those who have had near-death experiences have shed new light on this topic, and the revelations may shock you.

According to a study conducted by the University of Southampton in the UK, consciousness can continue to exist for several minutes after the body has died. The study, which analyzed more than 2,000 cases of cardiac arrest patients, found that nearly 40% of those who were resuscitated reported some level of awareness during the time that they were clinically dead.

One of the most interesting aspects of the study is that many of the patients reported similar experiences, regardless of whether they believed in an afterlife or not. Many described feeling as though they were floating above their body, watching as doctors tried to revive them. Others reported feelings of peace and tranquility, and some even said that they saw a bright light or a tunnel.

While its impossible to say for sure what these experiences mean, they do suggest that consciousness may be separate from the physical body and that it can continue to exist after death.

Another fascinating aspect of the study is that some of the patients reported hearing conversations that were taking place in the room while they were clinically dead. This suggests that hearing may be one of the last senses to go when we die, and that we may be more aware of our surroundings than we realize.

Of course, there are still many unanswered questions about what happens when we die. Some people believe in an afterlife, while others believe that death is simply the end. However, the research into near-death experiences suggests that there may be more to death than we previously thought.

Regardless of what happens when we die, its important to remember that death is a natural part of life. While it can be scary to think about, its also a reminder to live our lives to the fullest and to cherish the time that we have with our loved ones. So, whether we go on to a new plane of existence or simply fade away, we can take comfort in the fact that we will all experience death together, and that its simply a part of the cycle of life.

The Science of Death: Understanding the Final Moments of Life "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"

Death is a natural and inevitable part of life, yet it remains one of the most mysterious and misunderstood phenomena. While we often think of death as a sudden event, the truth is that its a process that begins long before the moment of passing. In recent years, scientists have begun to unravel the science of death, shedding light on the final moments of life and what happens to the body and brain during this process.

One of the key aspects of the science of death is the concept of brain death. Brain death occurs when the brain is no longer functioning and cannot be revived, even with medical intervention. When the brain dies, its no longer able to regulate the bodys functions, such as breathing and heart rate, and ultimately, the body ceases to function.

However, even after the brain has died, some cells in the body may continue to live for a short period of time. For example, skin cells can live for several hours, while liver cells may be able to survive for up to a day. This process is known as cellular death, and its the reason why organ donation must occur soon after brain death.

During the process of dying, the body undergoes a number of physiological changes. One of the most well-known is rigor mortis, which occurs when the muscles stiffen after death. This occurs due to a lack of ATP, which is necessary for muscle relaxation. Other changes include the cooling of the body, known as algor mortis, and the pooling of blood in the lower parts of the body, known as livor mortis.

In addition to these changes, there are also a number of psychological changes that occur during the dying process. For example, as the brain begins to shut down, individuals may experience hallucinations, delirium, and other altered states of consciousness. They may also become less responsive and withdraw into themselves.

One of the most important aspects of the science of death is understanding the different ways in which individuals die. For example, some individuals may experience a sudden death, such as in the case of a heart attack, while others may experience a more gradual decline, such as in the case of a terminal illness. Understanding these differences can help individuals and their families to better prepare for the dying process and make informed decisions about end-of-life care.

Ultimately, the science of death is a complex and multifaceted field, and there is still much to learn about this mysterious process. However, by understanding the final moments of life, we can begin to demystify death and develop a deeper appreciation for the beauty and fragility of life itself.

Wasabi Wallet Releases Version 2.0.3, Adding Back Coin Control Amongst Other Updates "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Users will once again be able to selectively spend their UTXOs via the Wasabi Wallet interface.

Hungarian-based Wasabi bringing back Coin Control. The function allows optional insight and control of the wallets Smart Coin Selection Algorithm via Coin Control for sending.

Coin control, explained here by Nopara, inventor of Wasabi, has become an industry standard expectation for privacy-conscious Bitcoin users, but, according to the press release, its usage in Wasabi Wallet 1.0 demonstrated that it often caused more harm than good. With version 2.0.3, users can choose between the smart coin selection algorithm and optional coin control. Advanced users can hold down the Alt key to inspect and modify features.

According to Max Hillebrand, CEO at zkSNACKs and Wasabi Wallet contributor, The goal of Wasabi 2.0 has always been to remove complexity and friction from the default user experience. That's the only way we can gather a large user base and offer substantial privacy. However, we can make the default even easier if we have an optional place to put the complexity, where skilled users can fine-tune their wallets performance to their hearts desire.

In addition to the update, Wasabi Wallet 2.0.3 includes an upgrade to Tor 0.4.7.12, offering improved stability for MacOS M1 users and various bug fixes.

Hillebrand added, If we want privacy to become the default for Bitcoin transactions, we must do everything we can to reduce the fee costs falling on users for using privacy preserving technology.

Previously, Wasabi Wallet customers were confronted with the announcement it would start preventing certain unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) from joining its CoinJoin rounds, sparking surprise and rebellion on Twitter as users wondered why the project would make a decision supposedly contrarian to the uncensorable ethos of Bitcoin. Despite these hiccups, this latest update continues to focus on privacy as a stated core tenant of Wasabis development.

Read an online

Dear Kindred,

Read the March 2023 issue of Kindreds newsletter.

As Ive shared in past posts, its always a good idea to remember that Spring celebrations in ancient traditions and mythologies embraced the ascent of Persephone, the Queen of the Underworld, to the upper world where the work of integrating shadow and light begins a new cycle of growth. In more recent history, Yeshua ascends to Christ Consciousness after his resurrection. The teaching at the core of these stories of rebirth can be missed if were focused on chocolate rabbits and hiding Easter eggs, but as our recent Breaking the Cycle group mused, without the experience of wholeness awareness of our shadow and light through discernment wisdom is not possible.

In our Breaking the Cycle gatherings, we hear from people around the world who are naming and noticing in their own homes and communities what does and does not support life, bring joy, and foster wellbeing. These monthly Zoom calls provide evidence that there are more of us than we know dedicated to the humble work of movin...

Bitwise Asset Management Announces New Exchange Traded Fund Aimed At Long-Term Bitcoin ETF Investors "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

The new BITC ETF will use an optimum roll strategy to focus on long-term returns for investors.

Bitwise Asset Management, Creators of the Bitwise Crypto Industry Innovators ETF and Bitwise Web3 ETF, have introduced a new Bitwise Bitcoin Strategy Optimum Roll ETF under the ticker BITC.

According to the press release, the fund was built to offer investors regulated, professionally managed exposure to bitcoin with a unique design that minimizes pricing inefficiencies that can emerge in bitcoin-linked ETFs focused on front-month or near-month futures contracts. The ETF aims to address this by utilizing what it describes as an optimum roll strategy that considers all available contracts and intelligently selects the contracts with the lowest level of contango (or the highest level of backwardation) in an effort to maximize long-term returns.

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan explained why this particular structure was chosen.

Historically, optimum roll strategies in other asset classes, such as oil and natural gas futures, have outperformed strategies focused on front-month or near-month contracts over time, he said. We believe this same strategy can apply to the bitcoin futures market as it continues to deepen and evolve.

In addition, the funds structure as an SEC-regulated ETF will make bitcoin exposure available in a format overwhelmingly favored by financial professionals, according to the press release, citing research by Bitwise and VettaFi exploring financial advisor attitudes toward crypto that found ETFs were the preferred method of investing for 68% of advisors.

If theres anything this past year has reinforced, it's that how you invest in crypto is as important as what you invest in, Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley reiterated. The Bitwise Bitcoin Strategy Optimum Roll ETF gives institutions, advisors, and their clients a professional, regulated solution for adding exposure to bitcoin returns while bypassing the risks of custodying bitcoin directly or investing through novel platforms.

The custodian of the BITC ETF is BNY Mellon and the funds distributor is Foreside Fund Services, LLC.

It should be noted that holding Bitcoin futures ETFs does introduce third-party risk not present for those who hold spot bitcoin in self-custody wallets.

Texas House Introduces Bill To Boost Local Bitcoin Economy And Protect Rights Of Individual BTC Ownership "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

A new bill introduced in the Texas House could set the state up to be the nucleus of Bitcoin development in the United States.

A bill that would fully protect and welcome the Bitcoin economy. has been introduced to the Texas State House of Representatives.

Sponsored by Rep. Cody Harris (R), and co-authored by the Bitcoin Policy Institutes' Natalie Smolenski and Jason Brett, House Concurrent Resolution 89 describes how the Chinese governments banning of bitcoin mining and trading in 2021 is an authoritarian form of rule that is in complete opposition to the values of the United States. This ban led to the quick migration of hash rate from China into the United States, mainly Texas, which has been reaping the benefits of the explosion in activity.

As such, the bill describes that The Lone Star State has certain principles regarding items of value that are embedded in the Texas Constitution, and these principles should be applied to all citizens with respect to the use and storage of Bitcoin.

The principles express support for protecting individuals who code or develop on the Bitcoin network, which is a key component of protecting Bitcoin within a state. In addition, the state will ensure that individuals who mine Bitcoin in Texas will never be inhibited by any law or resolution that restricts the practice of securing the Bitcoin network for the safety of the virtual currency, which is held and transferred peer-to-peer.

According to the bill, individuals who own Bitcoin are protected under Section 9, Article I, of the Texas Constitution, which states that "The people shall be secure in their persons, houses, papers and possessions, from all unreasonable seizures or searches. This right, the bill says, should also extend to digital possessions, such as cryptocurrencies. No citizen of Texas shall ever be deprived of their right to own Bitcoin and that all Bitcoin owners will be protected as they enjoy all the privileges associated with the cryptocurrency, including the immunity afforded by censorship-resistant spending of Bitcoin and the ability to store Bitcoin in an unhosted wallet without undue interference from any state agency; these protections shall be extended to Bitcoin owners.

Those in the United States and the broader global network who work on Bitcoin coding, programming, and mining, shall know by this resolution that the Bitcoin economy is welcome in Texas, and that the Texas Legislature shall always seek to protect the rights of its citizens under the law and foster the growth and development of local businesses; in addition, all those in the br...

Ancestral Wisdom For The Modern World: Do You Remember? "IndyWatch Feed Fertility"

Re-landing to Place

It can be very challenging, if not impossible, to assume that we can reclaim our Indigeneity as European peoples.  The trail is very cold, Empire building has been going on for a very long time, and we may have to reach back in time to find pre-colonial societies.  But the good news is, that fragments of paganism and animism have been kept alivethrough the centuries in every European country, and this knowing has been passed down to us today, or we would not have the capacity right now to understand ourselves as earth-connected people. Deep-time knowing continues to live on in our dreams, in our souls, in our creativity, in our hearts, and even in our DNA as ancestral memories. As we revive our traditional practices the songs, dances, foods, medicines, folk magic, ceremonies, and worldviews of our European ancestors it is helpful to develop a foundation of pre-colonial animist or Indigenous Mind, that we may embrace as we continue on our path to cultural revival.

When we look back, every culture before colonization was earth-emergent worldwide, which means we took our cues from the natural world, and the land gave rise to our spiritual and cultural practices.  Origin stories, the tribal myths, the honoring of the ancestors, the healing practices, the oracles, the rituals, the ceremonies and womens mysteries were all deeply interconnected with the homelands of a particular group. Also, the day-to-day needs of the collective such as food, clothing and material culture were sourced from centuries of connection to one particular place what we now call TEK or traditional ecological knowledge. The most important stories and cultural keystones of the group were deeply embedded in place, and although migration did happen, the process of becoming deeply rooted would begin again, once the tribe was relocated.  Renewing these land-based spiritual and cultural practices are incredibly important today, as we see how the current paradigm is unsustainable, and a...

Announcing Our Seventieth-Anniversary Issue "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

A few days before the Reviews new Spring issue went to print, the poet Rita Dove called me from her Charlottesville home to set a few facts straight. She and her husband, the German novelist Fred Viebahn, are night owlsemails from Dove often land around 9 A.M., just before bedtimeand they had just spent several long nights poring over her interview, which was conducted by Kevin Young and which spans Doves childhood in Akron, Ohio, where her father was the first Black chemist at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company; her adventures with the German language; her experience as poet laureate of the United States, between 1993 and 1995; and her love of ballroom dancing and of sewing, during which she might find the solution for an enjambment halfway through stitching a seam. Working their way through the conversation, she and Viebahn had confirmed or emended the kinds of small but crucial details that are also the material of Doves poems: the number of siblings in her fathers family, the color of the book that inspired the poem Parsley, the name of the German lettering in which her childhood copy of Friedrich Schillers Das Lied von der Glocke was printed (not Stterlin, it transpired, but Fraktur). We talked through her corrections, and then Dove produced a final fact that caught me by surprise. Two decades ago, she said, she had been preparing to be interviewed for The Paris Review by George Plimpton. Hed called to set a date for their first conversation, and the next day, she said, came the shocking news that he had died.

This spring rings in the magazines seventieth anniversary, and twenty years since the loss of its visionary longtime editor. To mark the occasion,...

Letters to the Editor: Deep-Seated Bias

December 20, 1986

If anyone has seriously been entertaining doubts that deep-seated prejudice is alive and thriving in the United States, he has only to read the December 9 front-page article in the Inquirer concerning the fourteen-year-old girl who was a rape victim to disabuse himself of this naive notion. Here we have a situation cast in the classic mold of the precivil rights era. A white female is raped (by a white male whom she knows) but, when describing her assailant, she does not describe a bogus white male but chooses to describe her attacker as a nonexistent black male. How sad that this fourteen-year-old child apparently instinctively chose a member (albeit a fictitious one) of another race to be her victim.

While I sympathize with Jack Smiths son who was given a traffic ticket because of the flashing lights on his car (after all, are they any more distracting than the vanity plates that one tries to read in passing?), I am more concerned about the gratuitous comments made by Mr. Smith.

His remark that the car looked as if it had just rolled out of the barrio is blatantly racist, as is his question about the lights being overly Latino. Is one to believe, as Jack Smith apparently does, that on the Main Line only Spanish-speaking individuals drive cars that have anything other than the names of universities and yacht clubs embellishing the rear windows?

I dont know how long Jack Smith has been a resident of Wayne, but I have lived here for over thirty-eight years and can assure him that 90 percent of the individuals whom I have seen over the years...

Why I Build These End Tables

It's always nice to have a nearby tabletop surface to set a coffee cup on or a remote.  I've been loving the trend of more modern, chunky shapes, especially the extruded X shape.

These little end tables turned out so well and cost between $15-$20 to build! I love the rustic wood tones with the modern shape.

VIDEO: How to Build These End Tables

This is a free project plan.  Please take a second to watch the video tutorial on how to build them - there's a few tricks that make all the difference with these end table builds.

FAQ About These End Tables

Can I build in different heights?  You could build these shorter, but taller might be too easy to topple over.

Can I build bigger (wider, etc) - I haven't tested yet, but I'm really hoping to get a 2x12 coffee table build done.  I don't see why it wouldn't work, but need to do a test before sharing plans.

Can I cut the tabletop circle with a jigsaw?  Yes, but it is super hard to keep the jigsaw blade level vertically, especially when cutiting smaller, tighter circles, the blade tends to bevel out.  So the circle saw is a cleaner option.  You can also use a tablesaw or router.

Weekend Awakenings Consciously Creating Our Reality, Sat. March 25, 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

Weekend Awakenings Invites you to a Free Public Call

Consciously Creating Our Reality Hosted by Gerry Gomez

If you are the artist and the dreamer, what would you create from you pallet of choices? Will it be dark and soothing, bright, and energetic or something whimsical and fun? The 5th dimension is that club of expanded consciousness where you vibrate at 500 and above, where you exist in a state of love, Joy, peace, and enlightenment.  This is when you realize that you are connected to the universe, the Source of Creation and all things.  Thats a huge pallet to draw from, so what will you create? What we are finding as we rise, and are less triggered into backsliding, is that the world becomes quite magical.  We experience many synchronicities, and information flows to you, and from you.  Spontaneous healings can occur and other seemingly miraculous events. When we stop fighting the current and go with the flow, we experience less turbulence in our day-to-day activities.  Here are some thoughts for smooth sailing during these historic turbulent days:
  • Its always darkest before the dawn.
  • Things generally seem worse than they are.
  • Media enjoys scaring the pants of people to keep everyone confused and unable to think.
  • The universe love balance and abhors a vacuum.
When things get stretched too far out of balance, as they have been since about 2001, the universe tends to snap things back to a more neutral position, and sometimes in unanticipated ways.  Is not the political arena becoming a comical farse? What we are seeing in the news (if you bot...

Wave Of Anti-Government Protests Are Setting The World On Fire "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge.

There has been a surge in protests and strikes around the world, primarily focused on economic hardships, skyrocketing inflation, political turmoil, and geopolitical issues.

Recent protests have emerged in France, Greece, Great Britain, Israel, Venezuela, South Korea, Moldova, and Portugal. While some of these demonstrations have been peaceful, others have resulted in clashes with law enforcement.

One of the most troubling countries is France, where protests flared up last week after President Emmanuel Macron circumvented Parliament by passing unpopular pension reform that raises the retirement age from 62 to 64 years.

Clever Illustrations by Nash Weerasekera Highlight Ironies and Anxieties of Everyday Life "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

An illustration of a figure painting a silver lining on a cloud

All images Nash Weerasekera, shared with permission

Influenced by what he describes as a healthy level of cynicism, Melbourne-based artist Nash Weerasekera taps into the subtle ironies of everyday life. His digital illustrations often center on seemingly paradoxical circumstances like a figure meditating on top of an overturned car or a young girl in a bathing suit seated on an ice floe. Largely focused on the nature of work, social interactions, and domestic responsibilities, his humorous scenes visualize endless to-do lists, running out of time, or a satirical take on a favorite phrase of optimists everywhere: every cloud has a silver lining.

Weerasekera shares that he thinks better on paper, so every piece begins with a physical sketch. His illustration practice stems from a background in street art in his home country of Sri Lanka that blossomed into acrylic painting when he moved to Australia. During pandemic lockdowns when it was a challenge to gather materials, he began to experiment with digital techniques and increasingly collaborates with commercial clients.

Weerasekera is currently illustrating a childrens book, and you can find more of his work on Instagram.

Seeking Freedom, Bitcoiners Should Consider Second Passports "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Those who hold bitcoin recognize the importance of taking control of their own freedom. A second passport might be the next step.

This is an opinion editorial by Jessica Hodlr, the COO of Plan B Passport.

The rise of Bitcoin and the demand for second passports may seem like two unrelated phenomena, however, there is one common link that ties them together: the desire for control.

Bitcoin and second passports have gained popularity in recent years due to a growing distrust in government and an emerging prepper mentality among many individuals. Both offer a way to take control back and to protect oneself from the uncertainties of the world.

Distrust In Government

Bitcoins decentralized nature means that it operates independently of any government, individual or financial institution. This has attracted so many people who are skeptical of the traditional financial system and the government control over money that weve all experienced and witnessed.

Like interest in Bitcoin, the demand for second passports has been driven by a lack of trust in governments. Many people fear political instability, economic downturns or other events that could threaten their safety and freedom. A second passport can offer an escape route to a country with more favorable conditions.

Prepper Mentality

If you havent heard of the prepper mentality, it is characterized by a focus on self-sufficiency and preparedness for emergencies. People who adopt this mindset often stockpile supplies and develop skills that they believe will be useful in a crisis. Bitcoin and second passports are both tools that can be used to prepare for the worst and to hedge against any risks.

Bitcoin's decentralized nature makes it resistant to government interference, which would be useful in a scenario where traditional financial systems have collapsed. In such a situation, bitcoin could serve as a means of exchange, even if fiat currencies are no longer functioning. Similarly, a second passport could offer a means of escape to a safer location in the event of a crisis. By having a second citizenship, individuals may be able to travel to more stable countries or access resources that are unavailable to those with only one passport.

Giving Control Back To The Individual

As stated above, perhaps the most significant link between Bitcoin and second passports is the desire for control. Both offer individuals greater control over their lives and their assets. Bitcoin allows users to control their money without relying on any bank or financial institution. A second passport gives in...

This Is Perhaps The Healthiest Berry You Dont Know About "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

In todays video, were going to talk about acai and its amazing benefits! Acai is a berry thats native to Northern Brazil and has become popular all around the world. If youve never tried it before, youre in for a treat!

Not only is acai delicious, but it also has many health benefits. For example, its great for slowing down the aging process due to its high concentration of antioxidants. Acai is also rich in fiber, which can help with good bowel movements and prevent heart disease.

If youre looking for a way to boost your energy levels, acai is an excellent choice. Its high in carbs and nutrients, making it perfect for a pre-workout snack. Acai also has antioxidants that help to fight against degenerative diseases, reduce the risk of cancer, and even help with menstrual cycle issues.

To get the most out of acai, its best to buy the frozen pulp and add it to your morning juice. This way, you can avoid adding any extra calories. If you prefer an acai bowl, sweeten it with honey and add your favorite fruits. It goes well with everything from bananas to kiwis!

However, its important to keep in mind that acai is a calorie-dense food, so its not recommended for weight loss diets. If youre an athlete or looking to gain muscle mass, acai can be a great addition to your diet. But if youre diabetic, make sure to talk to your doctor or nutritionist before adding it to your diet.

In summary, acai is a delicious and healthy fruit that has many benefits for your body. Just be sure to get it from a reputable source and enjoy it in moderation!

Amlie Was Really a KGB Spy: Jean-Pierre Jeunet Re-Edits His Beloved Film, Amlie, into a New Comedic Short "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

No French film of this century is more beloved than Jean-Pierre Jeunets Amlie. Or rather, no protagonist of a French film in this century is more beloved than Audrey Tautous eponymous Amlie. Hence, no doubt, why than by the long version, Le fabuleux destin dAmlie Poulain. Now, more than twenty years after the release of Le fabuleux destin dAmlie Poulain, Jeunet has followed it up with La vritable histoire dAmlie Poulain, which you can watch (with optional French or English subtitles) just above.

After all this time, Jeunet says in a brief introduction, I felt the moment was right to tell you, at long last, the real story of Amlie Poulain. She turns out, according to his voice-over narration that follows, not to be a simple Montmartre waitress who dedicates herself to surreptitiously enriching the lives of those around her.

For World Poetry Day "IndyWatch Feed Literature"

CHARM FOR A CHILD

Child, for your slumbers sake
On my back Ill gladly take
All your worry, all your dread
Lay down your head.

I shall guard you till the dawn
With streaks of gold comes softly on;
Place all your tender trust in me,
And you shall be

Safe from bite of iron sword,
Safe from cruel and wounding word,
Safe from ghoul and darkling sprite
In depth of night.

Though the land succumb to sea
And the stars devoured be,
There is nothing can remove
A fathers love.

Now in white the moon is dressed:
Close your eyes and take your rest

We think the odds are good that theyre spot on, because most people would have been slightly more flapped than that. However, we are contractually obliged to tell you not to try it at home. Dont dance on fires, kids.

Heres what people had to say about his antics.

The man wants to party and wont let no Gawdamn stinkin fire get in his way.

Hes drunk as hell.

We cant disagree with u/Dimitry_Joffers response.

Hes drunk as hell indeed, and yet he managed to put out the fire better than most sober people Ive seen in videos like that.

Although, to be honest, we dont think there are many videos like that.
