James Canton: Grounded: A Journey into the Landscape of our Ancestors "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"
From the author of The Oak Papers comes a beautiful meditation
on how to foster a profound and healing spiritual communion with
the natural world, exploring how the sacred can be accessed by
looking to the past, to our ancestors and how they tread through
their worlds.Canton's writing has an exquisite, somewhat dreamlike
quality.Peter Wohlleben, author of The Hidden Life of TreesWhen
James Canton walked into Suffolks Lindsey Chapel, it was the
beginning of what would become a new journey in his lifehours away
from the bustling city of London and distant from the years in his
early twenties when he traveled from Egypt to Argentina. Standing
inside the quaint chapel, Canton realized that his past
cosmopolitan desires had been replaced by an intense yearning to
understand the history of the place he called home, a burning
curiosity about the past and the spiritual ways and beliefs of the
people who came before us.In Grounded, Canton retraces his steps
into the places where our ancestors have experienced profound
emotion, otherwise known as numinous experiences, to help us better
understand who we are. Through lyrical meditation, reflection, and
a thoughtful consideration of the ways and beliefs of the people
who came before us, Canton seeks to know what our ancestors
considered to be human, and what lessons we can learn from them to
find security in our contemporary selves. Steeped in literary and
folklore references, Grounded is a powerful exploration of the
power of nature to soothe, nourish, and inspire the human soul.

102-Year-Old Husband Brings Flowers to Wife in the Hospital in a Heartwarming Video "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
No matter how many years they've been together, some older couples still revel in sweet romantic gestures. It's moving to watch seniors show love to the person they've spent their life within any way that they can. One of the most touching moments we've seen lately stars a loving 102-year-old husband as he visits his wife in the hospital.
In a clip shared by Good News Movement, the devoted husband appears at the door and reacts excitedly as the person helping him walk points to the love of his life. He walks slowly towards her as she welcomes him with a big smile. The husband then kisses his wife, and happily presents her with a bouquet.
While it's hard to determine where the scene takes place from the images alone, the affecting power of the scene is universal. You don't need to hear their words to be completely taken away by the moment and be moved by what's unfolding in that room.
Even though the footage is only a few seconds long, it's more than enough to see that the love between these two runs deep. Not even a hospital stay can put them apartif anything, the husband goes the extra mile to show that he's there for her.
It is especially endearing to see the man's determination to deliver his flowers despite needing help to walk. This doesn't look like his first gesture of the kind for his wifeit's probably just one of many sweet moments that have shaped a wonderful life together. As one of the Twitter replies to the video states, Love above everything.
Dutch Metal Detectorist Discovers a Medieval Hoard of Gold Jewelry and Silver Coins "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Do you dream of buried treasure? Many of us do, but metal detector hobbyists take this desire to the next level. Treasure hoards are real, and when discovered can vastly expand historical knowledge. Some places, such as the UK, even have laws about what to do when you find that glint of gold or silver. For one recently lucky Dutch metal detectorist, his find contained rare medieval golden jewelry and silver coins.
Metal detectorist and historian Lorenzo Ruijter has been searching for treasure since he was 10 years old. In 2021, he got the magical ping and discovered a few objects buried in Hoogwoud, a small Dutch city. He uncovered four golden ear pendants, two strips of gold leaf, and 39 silver coins. He notified Archeology West Friesland and the artifacts were taken to the National Museum of Antiquities for preservation. The experts there studied the metal pieces, noting the latest of the minted coins dates to about 1250 C.E. It is around this time they believe the hoard was buried. It is possible that someone buried it to protect it from the war raging in the area at the time between the regions of West Friesland and Holland.
The jewelry found with the coins dates even earlier. It is thought to be from 1000 to 1050 C.E. It has likely been passed down the generations and highly prized by its owner. According to a Google-translated statement from Archeology West Friesland, Gold jewelry from the High Middle Ages' is extremely rare in the Netherlands and the period in which this...

How I Preserve My Wealth With Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
This is an opinion editorial by Konstantin Rabin, a finance and technology writer.
Good ol bitcoin, the granddaddy of cryptocurrency, is increasingly being used as a reliable store of value for those looking to move away from the more established asset classes as it is continually proving itself as a solid hedge against inflation.
In fact, this is something I have been doing for some time now and, in this article, I will explain why I allocate a share of my wealth to bitcoin and how I see it as ideal for preserving the value of my net worth.
Despite the volatility and fear-mongering that is prevalently posterized when talking about bitcoin as a revolutionary investment vehicle, there is plenty to be said about why it is a valid contender in this market. It should be noted that no investor worth their salt would tell you to put your life savings into crypto, but there is plenty of upside potential for those looking to make long-term returns or preserve a portion of their wealth this way.
Let me just mention a few of these advantages that make this investment in bitcoin worth looking more deeply into:

He Watched a Horror Movie With His Curtains Open. Is He a Jerk? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Hmmmmthats kinda fishy, dont you think?

AITA For Watching A Horror Film With My Curtains Undrawn?
I cannot actually believe this has happened, I am still in shock because I do not understand what this lady was thinking.
So its the Easter holidays for me, which means I (15M) am home alone everyday as I dont have school. And just like anyone else, I get so bored when Im home alone. But I am an avid horror movie fan and I decided that I should spend my time catching up on a few of the films on my Netflix playlist to pass the time. Yesterday I started watching Fear Street.
In order to understand, you need a bit of background. The way my house is laid out, there is a large window that means that anyone walking by on the street can see anything that is being played on the TV and I h**e that its laid out like that because it makes me feel like I get absolutely no privacy.
With that in mind, yesterday I was watching a horror film with the curtains open which means that anyone walking by could technically peer in and see what I was watching. I was chilled and frankly having a lot of fun cause its a good film- not too gory or cliche.
It was more s**ual in my opinion. I hadnt realised but a couple of kids playing on the street were passing by and clearly they had peered in during a bloody scene because an old woman had knocked on the window and when I looked back at her she pointed to my TV, the...

Is He Wrong for Giving a Woman Her Baby His Seat on a Flight to Teach His Wife a Lesson? People Responded. "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Hell hath no fury like a woman with a screaming baby on a plane
And its best to just be encouraging and give those folks a break because thats always a tough situation.
And todays story revolves around a guy who wanted to teach his wife a lesson about compassion.
Did he go too far?
Take a look at what he had to say.
AITA for giving a mother with a crying baby my seat near my wife to teach her a lesson?
So my wife and I recently went on a trip together payed for by her dad. He flew us to Hawaii with first class seats. We had a great time.
My wife is used to travel while Im les experienced with plane travel, this was the first time I flew first class. On our way back home, we were sat near the back were by the border between us and the undesirables. A mother and her baby were one of the first to board and the poor baby was not having a good time. I felt even worse got the mother as I know shes probably equally distressed about the baby crying.
While I felt sympathy, my wife was mad. She kept making comments about how our flight was going to be miserable as the best. Her completing went on for the longest time. She kept saying that the mother was irresponsible and if she doesnt know how to calm her baby, she shouldnt be taking it on a plane.
I tried to tell her to calm down as its not that serious but she wasnt having it. Eventually I got tired of that, so I offered to go speak to the mom for my wife. She said she would be happy if I did.
I went back in between boarding groups and told the mother that if she wanted, I would give her my first class seat so she can kick her feet up and that may be more comfortable for her and the baby. She didnt want to initiall...
Bullish Case For Litecoin Grows Stronger As LTC Halving Draws Close "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Litecoin (LTC) is still trending low like the rest of the cryptocurrency market but one thing that separates the altcoin from the others is its obvious bullish case. Unlike the rest of the market, Litecoin looks set for another rally which will likely be propelled forward by the next halving.
Just like Bitcoin, the Litecoin halving happens every four years and cuts block rewards by 50%. The aim of this halving is to reduce the amount of new supply flowing into the market. And as demand rises, there is less supply to meet this demand, thus leading to scarcity and a surge in prices.
The next Litecoin halving is now around the corner with only about three months left to go. This halving, like the ones before it, carries the same promise of a rally for the digital asset. The last halving in 2019 saw LTCs price bottom out around $62 and then rally to a local peak of $80 in the same month.
If this years halving stays true to this trend, then the digital asset should be seeing some upside in the coming months. This could result in LTC clearing the $100 level once more as investors prep for the next leg-up.
A 20% upside is attainable at this point, especially with the halving expected to happen in early August. So more than likely, the buyers will dominate the market for the next two months, leading to rising prices for Litecoin.
Presently, the crypto market is seeing muted momentum as investors remain indecisive. For Litecoin, the upcoming halving remains a bullish event but the prospects for the months following the halving event do not look good given historical performances.

Upcoming Interest Rate Hikes Could Be The Next Big Challenge For Bitcoin, Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Bitcoins (BTC) current sideways price action has left investors wondering what the future holds for the worlds largest cryptocurrency. The upcoming interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve (Fed) may pose the next big challenge for Bitcoin, according to the crypto market analysis firm Blofin Academy.
The US economy has shown considerable resilience in recent months, prompting the Fed to consider raising interest rates to prevent inflation. However, this could be bad news for the crypto market, as higher interest rates tend to make traditional investments more attractive, potentially leading to a decrease in demand for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
The correlation between interest rates and Bitcoins price action has been observed in the past. When interest rates rise, investors tend to move their money into traditional investment vehicles such as stocks and bonds, leading to a decrease in demand for cryptocurrencies.
However, its worth noting that Bitcoin has often been viewed as a hedge against inflation, which means that it could still hold some appeal for investors during times of economic uncertainty.
The next scheduled Fed meeting is set to take place on June 14, 2023, where the central bank will likely discuss the possibility of raising interest rates in response to the current state of the US economy.
Macro Determinants Leave Crypto Traders WaitingNoelle Acheson, owner of the Crypto Is Macro Now newsletter, has cautioned against investors piling into the crypto market at this time. While the upside potential for Bitcoin remains significant, Acheson suggests that there is currently no compelling reason for investors to take on additional risk.
According to Acheson, there are few macro determinants at the moment, such as debt limit negotiations and Fed rate policy, which are leaving investors waiting for more clarity before making any major investment decisions. As a result, there is a sense of caution in the market as traders wait to see how these macro factors will play out.

Will This Political Deal In The US Save Bitcoin and Crypto? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Politicians in the United States will likely strike a deal and raise the governments $31.4 trillion debt ceiling for two more years. Amid this debate, the price of Bitcoin is firm but lower, tracking below the psychological $30,000 level as bulls recover after posting sharp losses mid-this week.
There are reports that there will be more discretionary spending on the military and veterans with the reduction of other sectors.
Moreover, there are unconfirmed reports that the Biden administration will likely not fund the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to boost collection, as laid out earlier.
Instead, the immediate focus will be to hire more auditors and target wealthy citizens.
There are concerns that the Treasury Department and the United States government will default on their obligation as soon as the first half of June 2023.
Even though highly unlikely, as the Treasury Department has said it will liquidate $119 billion of debt on that day, the market is watching how discussions pan out.
Bitcoin is firming up after losses on May 24.
As a deal is reportedly struck and consensus reached, politicians would once again lift the debt ceiling, sending mixed signals to the economy.
Unlike in previous years when top cryptocurrencies were decoupled from the mainstream economy, things have changed as Bitcoins prominence rises.
BTC prices will likely rally if there is an instance of default brought about by politicians disagreeing on the way forward.
On the reverse side, a deal that addresses concerns brought by the negotiating parties could signal confidence in the economy despite more debt on the table.
This averts a crisis and keeps operations running, removing uncertainty and stabilizing the economy.
In that case, the USD could strengthen, possibly reversing gains by Bitcoin bulls in the last two trading days.
Still, the crypto community remains bullish on Bitcoin considering macroeconomic events and next years halving.
After months of steady interest rate hikes, the United States Federal Reserve could slow down rate increments in the next meeting in mid-June. Their action could support the commodities and securities markets.
At the same time, the expected supply shock following the halving of Bitcoin miner rewards could make BTC scarcer, driving prices even higher.
Miners are special nodes tasked with confir...

Preserving Historic Adobe Structures in Taos "IndyWatch Feed Diy"
Adobe is the oldest building material in the world, found throughout the Middle East, Asia, North Africa, South America, Europe and, of course, the Southwestern United States.
Adobe often requires replastering, which explains how adobe structures often change over time. Taos Pueblo, for instance, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the nation, but the buildings one sees today are different from those first glimpsed by Spanish conquistadors.
In the 1960s when it was thought a hard cement stucco might mitigate the need for an annual replastering at the world-famous San Francisco de Asis Church in Ranchos de Taos. That effort famously failed when it was discovered water had seeped under the stucco and caused serious deterioration.
The historic Hacienda de los Martnez is now facing a slow-moving disaster that, if not addressed soon, could rob Taos of one of its vital cultural treasures.
In Taos, there are three primary communities that used adobe: there is Taos Pueblo, where Native people thrived for centuries, there was Ranchos de Taos, a settlement that has a longer history and had a greater population than the town of Taos until the late 1800s, and lastly, there was the village of Fernandez de Taos, which was established as the northern-most outpost of New Spain about 1615, preceding the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock by five years.
The Hacienda de los Martnez has been called one of the last great houses, exemplifying Spanish Colonial living. The Martnez family came seeking economic opportunity in what was then a remote edge of the far-flung Spanish Empire. A farmer and stockman, Martnez was also a merchant involved with annual trade fairs near Taos Pueblo. Though the estate seems large, it was considered quite small by historic Mexican standards. Still, with its formidable walls situated on a rise above the river, it remains impressive today. The Martnez Hacienda is now owned by Taos Historic Museums.
While the effects of weather and time have conspired to create a dire situation in the present, a group of dedicated locals have gathered expertise and a vision to repair the hacienda for future generations.

...Ordinals Is Bringing The NFT Industry To Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
The Ordinals protocol has taken the Bitcoin world by storm. Quickly amassing over 9,000,000 inscriptions, the new protocol allows for arbitrary data to be embedded on the Bitcoin blockchain. In addition to attracting attention from the NFT industry, Ordinals have led to a major increase in the fees required to send bitcoin, eliciting new debate on how Bitcoin should deal with high fee environments.
In a recent interview with Bitcoin Magazine, Farokh, founder of the Rug Radio platform and a well-known collector within the NFT industry, shared insights into the world of Bitcoin NFTs and his vision for the Bitcoin inscription markets future. Reflecting on his own Bitcoin and NFT journey, Farokh acknowledged the initial confusion surrounding Bitcoin in 2012, given the lack of development and user-friendly platforms at the time. However, he highlighted the rapid growth and development of NFT platforms in 2021, and how that is reflected now in the context of Bitcoin NFTs sudden rise in popularity.
When discussing the advantages of Ordinals, Farokh emphasized the security aspect of storing art on the Bitcoin blockchain, stating, "Ordinals now enable art to be stored on the most secure blockchain in the world, without keeping this data in external databases where it can be vulnerable to manipulation." He identified this as the biggest benefit of Ordinals over NFTs on other, less secure blockchains, recognizing the need for censorship-resistant and immutable storage solutions.
Regarding the future of Bitcoin NFTs, Farokh expressed his optimism. He also acknowledged the current challenges, such as high costs and the need for infrastructure development, but believed that with the continuous growth of the Bitcoin ecosystem, improved solutions would emerge.
Farokh also discussed the entry of luxury brands into the Bitcoin NFT space, mentioning the collaboration between Aspire and Bugatti. He expressed his curiosity about high-end brands embracing ordinals and leveraging the security and authenticity provided by the Bitcoin blockchain.
When asked about the reaction of projects transitioning to Bitcoin NFTs, Farokh noted the generally positive response. He drew parallels to the early days of NFTs, where skepticism was common but ultimately proven wrong. He also highlighted the positive reception of projects like Yuga Labs TwelveFold, indicating that the acceptance of Bitcoin NFTs was gradually gaining momentum.
Looking ahead, Farokh envisioned a mature Bitcoin NFT market with user-friendly platforms accessible to retail users. He remarked, "Look h...
Yayoi Kusamas Massive Colorful Sculptures Fill Entire Rooms in NYC "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
From polka dot pumpkins to mirror rooms, it is hard to mistake Yayoi Kusamas art for anyone else's work. A new exhibition at the David Zwirner Gallery in New York, titled I Spend Each Day Embracing Flowers, assembles some of the many different facets of the artist's oeuvre, featuring massive sculptures, colorful paintings, and immersive installations. The extensive collection is stretched across David Zwirner's spaces at 519, 525, and 533 West 19th Street.
The title of the show comes from three large-scale sculptures that are featured in the exhibition. These pieces depict massive blooms colored in bold hues and a mix of polka dot and abstract prints. The flowers convey a duality, present throughout Kusamas work, between life and death, celebration and mourning, figuration, and abstraction, with each opposite simultaneously pushed to its limits, the exhibition states. Flowers and other parts of the natural world are recurring themes in Kusama's art and a lifelong interest.
Also included in the exhibition is another series of monumental sculptures. Titled Aspiring to Pumpkin's Love, the Love of My Heart, these massive polka dot pumpkin works resemble an undulating wall that wraps around the room and creates an enclosure for visitors. Pumpkins have been a great comfort to me since my childhood; they speak to me of the joy of living. They are humble and amusing at the same time, and I have and always will celebrate them in my art,&#...
Arbitrum (ARB) Fallout: 70% Price Drop, But These Charts Reveal Its True Value "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Arbitrum (ARB) has been making waves in the crypto world as it recently became the 4th largest ecosystem in the market. Despite experiencing a sharp decline of 70% since its airdrop, Arbitrums native token has continued to gain attention from investors, currently trading around $1.158, down from $1.1808 on April 18th.
According to the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) researcher Deebs, Arbitrum has emerged as a major player in the crypto market, with its Total Value Locked (TVL) soaring to an impressive $2.3 billion. This puts it in 4th position by TVL, surpassing many of its competitors.
Additionally, since the launch of Arbitrum, the value of stablecoins has grown by over $500 million in just two months. At its peak, the networks active user base reached over 600,000, surpassing Optimism (OP), a fast, stable, and scalable L2 blockchain built by Ethereum developers, and nearly overtaking the blockchain platform designed to host decentralized, scalable applications Solana (SOL).
Despite these impressive metrics, ARBs price has experienced a significant drop of 70% since its airdrop and has had very little positive price action since. However, DeFi researcher Deebs believes that this dip in price may be a sign of a hidden gem in the crypto market.
One of the main factors that make Arbitrum an attractive investment opportunity is its high TVL, user base, and liquidity. In fact, since its launch, Arbitrum has maintained the highest liquidity of all Layer 2 (L2) networks and is the third highest of all chains on DeFi Llama.

In 1933, Helen Keller Wrote a Letter to Book-Burning Nazis About the Power of Ideas "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Helen Keller is known for her activism for the disabled community. After a childhood illness rendered her deaf and blind, she learned to read, write, sign, and speak. Graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Radcliffe College in 1904, Keller was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelors of Arts degree in the United States. A writer, a socialist, and a suffragette, her activism extended far beyond the deafblind community to touch many national and world affairs. Powerfully, in 1933, Keller penned an open letter in The New York Times warning Nazi studentswho were openly burning books, including her ownof the perils of the fascist desire to crush opposing ideas.
The letter can be seen in a typed draft by Keller from May 9, 1933. It contains handwritten additions from Keller's aid Polly Thompson. Keller's book, How I Became a Socialist, had been earmarked for burning on a long list made by the Nazi party for a mass burning event on May 10, 1933. On that day, university students participated in burnings across Germany. The 25,000 books burned targeted a variety of topics, from socialist works like Keller's to Freud to science fiction like H.G. Wells. While anything deemed un-German or antithetical to the Nazi...

Why This Signal Means Uniswaps Bear Run Is Almost Over "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
The price of Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange by trading volume, is down roughly 35% from Q1 2023 peaks. Even so, on-chain data from Etherscan shows that there has been a steady increase in the number of UNI holders in the past two days.
As of May 13, there were 369,646 UNI holders. Since then, the number has increased to over 370,100 as of May 26. During this time, UNI prices have remained stable but relatively high.
Based on the UNIUSDT chart, the prices have found support around $4.9. However, prices have increased by approximately 10% over the past two weeks, rising to $5.4. Although the number of UNI holders may not directly affect the prices, there is a clear correlation between the demand for UNI and the increase in token prices.
Several factors could have provided tailwinds for UNI, the governance token of Uniswap.
On May 23, Uniswaps mobile wallet was released from what Uniswap Labs, the team maintaining Uniswap, said was Apple jail.
With this jailbreak, users can download the Uniswap Wallet, thats non-custodial like MetaMask.
Through this wallet, users can buy and sell various supported cryptocurrencies.
This announcement is bullish because as more users opt for Uniswap Wallet, the demand for the decentralized exchange could rise, increasing its dominance and stature.
While MetaMask remains the most dominant Ethereum and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) wallet enabling the storing and trading of various tokens, even using processors like PayPal, the popularity of Uniswap could see Uniswap Wallet gnaw market share.
Presently, Uniswap Labs said their wallet could support the trading of tokens across Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, and Arbitrum.
Earlier on, the Uniswap contributors proposed the deployment of the DEX v3 on Coinbases Base.
Among supporters of this proposal is GFX Labs, one of the largest UNI holders and supporters of Uniswaps expansion to other chains. Recently, GFX Labs voted for the launch of the DEX on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and MoonBeam.
Even so, before voting starts, the proposal will undergo a temperature check-up to gauge community support. If there is majority support,...

In Ocean Sentinels, Jason deCaires Taylor Installs Eight Hybrid Sculptures as Coral Guards "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
A new cast of hybrid characters continues Jason deCaires Taylors effort to revitalize the Great Barrier Reef. Recently installed off the coast of Townsville, Australia, as part of the Museum of Underwater Art, Ocean Sentinels is comprised of eight figurative sculptures that meld the textures of marine life with the likeness of influential conservationists.
Similar to The Coral Greenhouse, which was embedded in the aquatic landscape in 2020, these works are made of pH-neutral, low-carbon concrete and stainless steel and are created with the intention that sea creatures use them as homes. It is hoped that in years to come a variety of endemic species such as corals, sponges, and hydroids will change the sculptures appearance in vibrant and unpredictable ways. Like the Great Barrier Reef itself, they will become a living and evolving part of the ecosystem, emphasising both its fragility and its endurance, Taylor says.
Due to warming waters caused by the climate crisis, much of the reef is experiencing coral bleaching, a stress-induced reaction that causes the sea creatures to expel algae in their tissues and drain themselves of their characteristically vibrant colors. Taylor...

Daft Punk Shares Previously Unreleased Tracks and Returns to Top 10 Billboard Charts "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
French electronic duo Daft Punk are one of the most notable music acts from the last three decades. Throughout their storied career, they not only they released a collection of high-energy danceable hits, but they also revolutionized music and its surrounding mediums. From the timeless party song One More Time to the award-winning classic Get Lucky, their talent and creativity earned them praise from critics, peers, and fans around the world. Much to the dismay of their followers, Daft Punk announced their split in 2021, seemingly putting an end to their work together. Now, a milestone anniversary of their latest effort has been marked with the unearthing of more music, which in turn has propelled them back onto the charts.
Earlier this month, Daft Punk released the 10th anniversary edition of Random Access Memories, their final album. As a previously unreleased music. Among its nine previously unreleased tracks are an early take of the famous Get Lucky, and a rework of a track featuring Paul Williams titled Touch (2021 Epilogue). They also shared a demo of Infinity Repeating, featuring Julian Casablancas and The Voidz, and debuted a brand new music video directed by Warren Fu, which is a highly stylized narrative work of art by its own right.
Back in 2013, when it was originally released, Random Access Memories topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. It was also certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and was named...

Sagittarius Full Moon Ritual June 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
The Sagittarius Full Moon on June 3/4, 2023, captures an adventurous spirit. It guides us to lighten up, not take things too seriously, and make time for play. But when looking deeper, it also seems this Full Moon wants us to tend to our responsibilities and get organized.
With the Full Moon carrying both of these vibrational qualities, we may find ourselves playing a bit of tug of war. Depending on where we are in our lives, we may need more time for play or more time for responsibilities. The two may even be intertwined.
Sagittarius is ruled by the arrow of the archer, and perhaps this is our clue. The archer has to get focused to make its mark and if we adopt the same focus, and keep aligned with what is really important, we will have a much easier time navigating these energies.
To guide you with this, I have created a ritual just for this Full Moon. This ritual involves some reflection and release work. It also includes a great recharging meditation and your Sagittarius Full Moon Oracle Reading. I hope you enjoy it!
This ritual is best done from June 1- 11, 2023

The British Male!: On Martin Amis "IndyWatch Feed Literature"
To be British is a very complicated fate. To be a British novelist can seem a catastrophe. You enter into a miasma of history and class and garbage and publicationthe way a sad cow might feel entering the abattoir. Or certainly that was how I felt, twenty years ago, when I entered the abattoir myself. One allegory for this system was the glamour of Martin Amis. Everyone had an opinion on Amis, and the strangeness was that this opinion was never just on the prose, on the novels and the stories and the essays. It was also an opinion on his opinions: the party gossip and the newspaper theories, the Oxford education and the afternoon tennis.
The British male! Or at least the British bourgeois male, with his many father figures, both real and acquired. From certain angles, in certain photos, Amis looked like Jagger, and so he became the Jagger of literature. He was small, trueI feel a permanent pang of camaraderie at his line in The Pregnant Widow about a character who occupies that much-disputed territory between five foot six and five foot sevenbut he was also hypermasculine. It wasnt just his subjects: the snooker and the booze and the obsession with judging all women sack artists. It wasnt even just the style: an inability to leave a sentence alone without chafing at every verb, the prose equivalent of truffle fries. It was also the interview persona, all haughtiness and clubhouse universality, however much that could be contradicted in private by thoughtfulness and generosity of conversation.
But most of all, his British maleness was in the purity of his comic perception of the world. He practiced a very specific form of oral literatureanecdote, putdown, punchline, alcoholic joke: monologues from the ruined-dinner table. This morning I picked up an old copy of Money taken from my parents house and there they were, the riffs: You just cannot park ro...
Portrait of Marie Antoinettes Dog Skyrockets at Auction "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
A delightful little dog portrait made a royal showing at Sothebys this morning, where it sold for $279,400 including fees nearly 56 times its high estimate of $5,000. Jacques Barthlmy Delamarres late 18th-century oil painting is thought to be a depiction of Marie Antoinettes Pompon, one of the French queens many canine companions. Mystery shrouds the subject of the portrait, but little is known about the artist, too.
Jacques Barthlmy Delamarre was accepted into the Acadmie de St-Luc in Paris in 1777 and painted in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Aside from those facts, Sothebys Old Masters Specialist Elisabeth Lobkowicz told Hyperallergic, all that is known is that Delamarres small body of work almost exclusively depicts versions of this exact dog and other small pets, including cats and rabbits.
Delamarres other portraits of Pompon show the dog eating biscuits and lounging on a lush red cushion. Lobkowicz said that although these compo...
Person Asks if Theyre Wrong for Not Giving Their Mom Their Old Medication "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Pills can be dangerous and its understandable why someone who has struggled with addiction in the past would be wary when it comes to anything drug-related.
And this story is pretty interesting
Did this person who is a recovering addict act like an a**hole for not giving their mom their old medication?
Read the story below and see if you think they were out of line.
AITA for not giving my mom my old medication?
I am a recovering addict. I used to have xanax prescribed to me for panic attacks but it was discontinued. I kept an old bottle in the cupboard just in case (I know, I know.)
On Saturday my parents came over. I told them how I was doing in my recovery and that I was going to properly dispose of my old Xanax at the pharmacy or police department.
For the sake of brevity, she asked me for the drugs and I said No. My No was not respected. When I said no she said well why, Im not an addict! She then proceeded to rub my nose in the fact that I stole drugs from her when I was in active addiction, and basically said I owed her.
I was so upset, that I brought up a time she medicated me without a doctors consent or prescription when I was a child. She then gaslit me, saying I was making it up and that never happened. I kicked her out of my house.
Im so upset. Im in very early recovery and trying my hardest to get well. We havent spoken since I kicked her out and my heart hurts. I just wanted my mom to be proud of me, but instead she tried to guilt me for my old medication.
So Reddit, AITA?
Check out how folks reacted on Reddit.
This reader said they are NTA and her mom can get her own meds.
Bitcoin Core Version 25.0 Released Bringing New Features And Transaction Use Cases "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
One notable change is the allowance of transactions of non-witness size 65 bytes and above, which opens up new use cases and enhances protections against vulnerabilities like CVE-2017-12842. Another addition is the scanblocks RPC, which allows for fast wallet rescans by returning relevant blockhashes from a set of descriptors.
In terms of RPC updates, all JSON-RPC methods now accept a new named parameter called "args" for passing positional parameter values conveniently. Additionally, the verifychain RPC will now return false if checks couldn't be completed at the desired depth and level, providing more accurate feedback.
The release also includes changes to the build system, updated settings and new features. For instance, the shutdownnotify option allows users to specify a command to execute before Bitcoin Core begins its shutdown sequence. In the wallet section, new options like minconf and maxconf have been added to various RPCs, providing greater control over UTXO confirmations.
Bitcoin Core 25.0 introduces several improvements and optimizations, enhancing the user experience and security of the software. As with any release, users are encouraged to report any bugs they encounter to the official GitHub issue tracker.
Bitcoin Core is widely supported and tested on major operating systems such as Linux, macOS, and Windows. However, it is not recommended to use Bitcoin Core on unsupported systems. Users should ensure they are running a compatible operating system before upgrading to the latest version. In addition, users are encouraged to review the release notes for a detailed understanding of the
JPMorgan Predicts Bitcoin (BTC) To Revisit $45,000, Heres Why "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
In a recent note, JPMorgan strategists have made a prediction, suggesting that Bitcoin (BTC) could soar and revisit its former trading price of $45,000 due to the rising price of gold. This prediction comes amid Bitcoins price action of a blend of bulls and bears in the past week.
Meanwhile, over the past 24 hours, BTC has seen a 2.1% gain with a current trading price above $26,000. The current surge comes after Bitcoin previously fall that dropped its price below its previously ranging market price of $28,000.
Bitcoin and gold have often been regarded as alternative investments by investors, and their prices have displayed a tendency to move in tandem.
Given this, JPMorgan analysts note that the current gold price, hovering near $2,000 per ounce, implies a Bitcoin price of $45,000. This assumption is based on the idea that BTC will reach a similar standing as gold in the portfolios of private investors.
JP Morgan wrote in a note:
With the gold price rising above $2,000, the value of gold held for investment purposes outside central banks is currently valued at around [$3 trillion]. In turn, this implies a $45,000 price for bitcoin under the assumption that bitcoin equalizes gold in private investors portfolios in risk capital or [volume]-adjusted terms.
One key factor contributing to JPMorgans optimistic prediction is the upcoming Bitcoin halving event, scheduled to take place between April and May 2024. The halving mechanism reduces the rate at which new Bitcoins are produced, effectively doubling the production cost.
The JPMorgan strategists believe this event will push Bitcoins production cost to approximately $40,000, acting as a lower bound and potentially driving the price upward.
Drawing from historical data, JPMorgan highlights the bullish trajectory observed during previous halving events in 2016 and 2020. These events were accompanied by significant surges in Bitcoin prices, indicating the potential for a similar outcome following the next halving.
As a result, JPMorgan sets an upper limit of $45,000 for BTC, indicating limited potential beyond the increase driven by the doubling of production costs.
While Bitcoin takes the spotlight in JPMorgans prediction, the bank suggests that Ethereum (ETH) may face some selling pressure in the near term, extending beyond the Shanghai upgrade until mid-year. JPMorgan expects Ethereum to somewhat underperform...

Shiba Inu Whale Accumulates 261 Billion Shib Tokens In Just Three Days "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
A top SHIB whale added $1.18 million worth of Shiba Inu within 24 hours. Data from Etherscan.io reveals that this whale ranked as the nineteenth largest SHIB holder accumulating 140 Billion SHIB.
The whale acquired the SHIB tokens in two separate transactions marking its second massive accumulation within 72 hours.
Shiba Inu network and users engaged in massive SHIB burn events in 2023. The burning mechanism aims to reduce excess tokens and boost SHIBs price. However, no notable price increase has occurred since the token burn events.
Nevertheless, the top SHIB whales are accumulating the tokens ahead of the Shibarium launch and a possible price increase for the asset.

BLAZE token has been identified as the largest SHIB burner in recent times on the ecosystem.
A member of Shiba Inus marketing team, LUCIE, shared her thoughts on the proposed mainnet launch of Shibarium in a Tweet.
Shibarium is a Layer-2 (L2) scaling solution created for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Its launch date is highly speculative, with several dates proposed in the past.
However, LUCIE stated that she guessed the launch date would be in Q3 of 2023, while Shiba Inu founder Shytoshi Kusama projects in July.
The exact launch date remains a mystery and LUCIE believes the Shibarium Mainnet Launch will happen between the second and third quarters of 2023.
Additionally, she believes that Shibas team remains confident about the launch, with multiple teams working on it and exploring Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration.
LUCIE emphasized that the testing process is crucial and security audits are necessary before its launch. She explained further, that if tests go wrong, the Shibarium mainnet release will delay.
Shiba Inu Price OutlookDespite the recent announcements concerning Shibariums launch, SHIB did not record much price fluctuation. It traded at $0.000009967 on May 1, 2023, before moving to $0.00001002 on May 2. However, by May 4, its price dropped to $0.000009896, losing some of its earlier gains.

Fucked for Life: Bladees Paintings "IndyWatch Feed Literature"
This summer, were launching a series called Overheardwhich is more or less about what it sounds like. Were asking writers to take their notebooks to interesting events or places; theyll record what they see, but mostly what they hear. In the first of the series, Elena Saavedra Buckley goes to a TriBeCa gallery opening for an exhibit of collaborative paintings by two Swedish hip-hop artists, and surveys the scene.
The art show I was going to was risky to google, because it was called Fucked for Life and took place in the basement of a gallery called the Hole. It had been raining, and the humidity followed us downstairs, where the low-ceilinged room felt like the hull of a ship. The paintings reminded me of more focused, imaginative versions of the kind of thing your friends stoner older brother might make in his roomthey had barely shaped demonic faces at their centers, orbited by tagged abstractions and blooms of neon, all lacquered and dripping. Some sat in ironic-seeming ornate gold frames; others hung against long stretches of loose fabric layered with graffiti, which had been made the day before and seemed to be releasing damp chemical wafts.
This was the private opening of new collaborative paintings by Bladee and Varg2, whose real names are Benjamin Reichwald and Jonas Rnnbergtwo Swedish artists affiliated with a Nordic brand of underground hip-hop thats been gaining steam since the mid-aughts. The two collectives at its center are the Sad Boyshelmed by the fairly famous Yung Leanand Drain Gang, which was started by Bladee. I didnt know much about Varg2...

Jean Baptiste Vranys Wildly Influential Cephalopod Chromolithographs Depict Sea Creatures in Stunning Opalescent Color "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
In 1851, French pharmacist-turned-naturalist Jean Baptiste Vrany (18001865) published a collection of illustrations that captured the subtle colors and tonal variances of cephalopods. A class of mollusks that includes squid, octopus, cuttlefish, and nautilus, cephalopods have pronounced, often bulbous heads, symmetric bodies, and arms and tentacles known to produce ink. The marine creatures became a source of fascination for Vrany after a research expedition with Franco Andrea Bonelli, a preeminent ornithologist and entomologist, who helped usher in the young naturalists interest in zoology.
Some of Vranys most-recognized contributions to natural history include the chromolithographslithographs with several layers of colorreleased in his book Mollusques Mditeranens: observs, decrits, figurs et chromolithographies daprs le vivant, or Mediterranean molluscs: observed, described, figured and chromolithographs from life. The volume includes 41 illustrations that are rendered in exacting detail and exemplify Vranys unparalleled understanding of color. Subtle shifts from pink to aqua, vivid reds, and vast explorations of opalescen...

Bitcoin Exchange Inflows Mostly Coming From Loss Holders, Weak Hands Exiting? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
On-chain data suggests a majority of the Bitcoin exchange inflows are currently coming from investors holding their coins at a loss.
According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, the short-term holders are mostly contributing to these loss inflows. The exchange inflow is an indicator that measures the total amount of Bitcoin thats currently flowing into the wallets of centralized exchanges.
Generally, investors deposit to these platforms whenever want to sell, so a large amount of inflows can be a sign that a selloff is going on in the BTC market right now. Low values of the metric, on the other hand, imply holders may not be participating in much selling at the moment, which can be bullish for the price.
In the context of the current discussion, the exchange inflow itself isnt of relevance; a related metric called the exchange inflow volume profit/loss bias is. As this indicators name already suggests, it tells us whether the inflows going to exchanges are coming from profit or loss holders currently.
When this metric has a value greater than 1, it means the majority of the inflow volume contains coins that their holders had been carrying at a profit. Similarly, values under the threshold imply a dominance of the loss volume.
Now, here is a chart that shows the trend in the Bitcoin exchange inflow profit/loss bias over the last few years:
As shown in the above graph, the Bitcoin exchange inflow volume profit/loss bias has had a value above 1 for most of the ongoing rallies that started back in January of this year.
This suggests that most of the exchange inflows in this period have come from the profit holders. This naturally makes sense, as any rally generally entices a large number of holders to sell and harvest their gains.
There have been a couple of exceptional instances, however. The first was back in March when the assets price plunged below the $20,000 level. The bias in the market shifted towards loss selling then, implying that some investors who bought around the local top had started capitulating.
A similar pattern has also occurred recently, as the cryptocurrencys price has stumbled below the $27,000 level. Following this plunge, the indicators value has come down to just 0.70.
Further data from Glassnode reveals that the bias of the...

A Pair of Contrasting Prints by Seb Lester Gilds Popular Aphorisms in Elegant Lettering "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Lewes-based artist Seb Lester (previously) vacillates between the maximal and minimal in a new pair of aphoristic prints. Die-stamped in gold ink, the calligraphic works are studies of the relationship between medium and message, all filtered through elegantly gilded lettering.
Carpe Diem, the popular Latin maxim to seize the day, is the ornate of the pair and embedded with swords, flowers, and elaborate motifs. Ive drawn from many influences, including Victorian Memorials, Medieval Cathedral Inscriptions, and the work of the finest Writing Masters of the 18th century, Lester says. The letterforms are all highly ornamental and drawn especially for the projectwarm Lombardic Capitals paired with a softened Textura lowercase.
As a counterpart, the other print is more austere, reading Illegitimi Non Carborundum, which roughly translates to dont let the bastards grind you down. Using bespoke Roman Monumental Capitals depicted as if lovingly carved and gilded in marble into a magnificent ancient monument, the mock-Latin phrase is graceful and refined, a contrast to the otherwise audacious message.
Both limited-edition prints are available in Lesters shop, and you can find more of his calligraphy on Instagram.

Utility Groups Warn Supply Chain Crisis Threatens Both The National Security & Economic Outlook "IndyWatch Feed Survival"
This article was originally published by B.N. Frank at Activist Post under the title Utility Groups, Others Warn Supply Chain Crisis Threatens Both The National Security and Economic Outlook
A growing number of Americans including lawmakers are highly opposed to the Biden administrations relentless support of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) programs. Experts also warn that rushing the energy transition could lead to power outages and other undesirable situations. Heck even proponents/beneficiaries of these programs are voicing concerns about the potential for power outages.
From Utility Dive:
Electric utilities and other stakeholders have asked President Joe Biden to convene an Electrical Steel Summit with manufacturers to address the supply chain crisis.
A shortage of electrical steel is challenging the transition to emissions-free vehicles, delaying power restoration after storms and slowing new home and commercial construction, electric utilities and other groups warned President Biden on Monday.
Electrical steel is used in the manufacturing of transformers, electric vehicle chargers, electric motors, and other equipment.
It is vital that the federal government recognize and support the domestic production of electrical steel to meet the unprecedented demand for electrification and grid modernization and resilience initiatives, the groups said.

Altcoins Across The Sector Are Underbought: Santiment "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
On-chain data from Santiment suggests that altcoins across the entire cryptocurrency sector may be underbought right now.
According to data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment, cryptocurrency assets have become underbought as traders are now capitulating following a failed price rebound.
The relevant indicator here is the MVRV (Market Value to Realized Value), which measures the ratio between the market cap and the realized cap of a given cryptocurrency.
Here, the realized cap refers to a capitalization model for BTC where the value of any coin in the circulating supply is assumed to be not the current spot price, but the price at which it was last transacted on the blockchain.
This model aims to calculate a sort of fair value for the asset. As the MVRV compares the market cap (that is, the current price) with the real value of the cryptocurrency, it can provide hints about whether the price is currently overinflated or not.
Santiment has defined an opportunity zone and a danger zone for this indicator. As their names already imply, the asset in question becomes underpriced when the metric is in the former area, while it becomes overpriced in the latter one.
Here is a chart that shows the trend in the divergence of the MVRV from these zones for the various altcoins in the sector:
Whenever the MVRV divergence has a value of 1 or more, the indicator is said to be inside the opportunity zone. Similarly, the danger area occurs below a value of -1.
While these are the two extreme zones, the metric being firmly inside either the positive or the negative zone (but not hitting either of these thresholds), still signals slight underbought or overpriced conditions, respectively.
This means that the chances of bullish rebounds can become greater whenever the indicator enters positive territory. From the chart, its visible that the vast majority of the coins in the digital asset sector are at least inside the positive territory at the moment.
This would imply that these coins may have become underpriced recently. Some of the altcoins are also outright inside the opportunity zone, suggesting that they may be offering low-risk buying opportunities right now.

Tax Attacks Wont Kill Bitcoin: Regulators Must Learn To Accept New Technology "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
This is an opinion editorial by Conor Chepenik, an organizer for the MassAdoption Bitcoin meetup.
Congressman Brad Sherman's recent tweet attacking Bitcoiners as "tax evaders" is a prime example of how Bitcoin has become a mainstream phenomenon. It's ironic that politicians like Sherman, who have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution and the presumption of innocence, are so quick to label Bitcoin supporters as criminals without any evidence. Such remarks undermine the fundamental principles of justice and fairness that underpin our legal system.
The fact that politicians like Sherman are attacking Bitcoin serves as a signal to those on the fence that there may be something to this "freedom money" that is constantly under attack by those who are corrupt and compromised by legacy systems. In a way, even those who attack Bitcoin may be unwittingly working for its success and adoption.
And clearly, politicians are expecting Bitcoiners to shoulder some kind of tax burden that they do not impose on anyone else.
Imagine if a politician tried to tax people for using computational power to do math or use English to express their views. They would be ridiculed and mocked because, on top of that being an insane policy, both of these subjects are essential to a functional society.
Instead of imposing arbitrary taxes, the government should focus on creating a regulatory environment that supports innovation and economic growth. Unfortunately, in opposition to that seemingly-obvious edict, the Biden administration has proposed a 30% tax on Bitcoin mining, which is not only unfair, but also hypocritical to the values that make the United States great.
If a market participant has paid for their energy, they should be free to use it as they wish. So, why is Bitcoin mining being targeted when other industries, such as pornography, video games or gambling, also use energy to allow people to indulge in their vices online? Im not vying for a tax on other industries. I firmly believe that if a market participant has paid for their energy they can do whatever they want with it. My intent is to point out that this proposal seems to be a clear example of government overreach and intervention in the private sector.
And it's not just Bitcoin mining that is being targeted. It is the entire Bitcoin network. When new and innovative ideas challenge the status quo, both humans and technology can exhibit resistance or em...

Call for Pattern Testers for a 1907-11 Corset "IndyWatch Feed Craft"
Its that time again! Scroop Patterns has an exciting new corset pattern ready to test. So, that means I need testers to help make sure its absolutely perfect.
If youd like to apply to be chosen to help test the corset, keep reading to learn more, and how to apply
This corset is based on the transitional corsets sold between 1907 and 1911, as the fashionable silhouette moved from the extreme curves of the early Edwardian era to the straighter silhouette of the 1910s.
It has longer lines, with less abrupt transitions between the waist and hips, than earlier straight-fronted corsets, but retains the curved panels that wrap around the body and triangular bust and hip pieces of Edwardian corsets, rather than the vertical panels typical of later 1910s corsets, like the Scroop Rilla Corset.
Like most 1900s and 1910s corsets, this corset is made from a single layer of strong fabric. Both views feature dramatic swooping front panel seaming which forms an inverted fan shape, bust and hip gussets, and four garter straps....

Father's Day Gift Idea: The Real RFK Jr Trials of a Truth Warrior "IndyWatch Feed Health"
Here's a great Father's Day gift
idea. The Real RFK Jr Trials of a Truth
Warrior from Skyhorse Publishing is available NOW for
pre-order. It's already #1 on the Amazon best sellers list.
By Dick Russell
An epic biography filled with drama, conflict, and surmounted challenges.
The Real RFK Jr. is an intimate biographical portrait
examining the controversial activist's journey from anguish and
addiction to becoming the country's leading environmental champion
fighting government corruption, corporate greed, and a captured
media. Written by his longtime colleague Dick Russell, the
biography also exposes the misconceptions and explains the
rationale behind Kennedy's campaign to protect public
health.
Provided exclusive source material, including access to
Kennedys unpublished writings and personal journals, the author
conducted dozens of interviews with him as well as numerous friends
and associates. Russell delves into everything from Kennedys
sometimes death-defying river rafting adventures to his pioneering
legal cases against polluters such as Smithfield Foods and
Monsanto, while founding the worlds largest water protection group.
The Real RFK Jr. also examines Kennedys pursuit of the truth about
the assassinations of his father and uncle, the wrongful murder
conviction of his cousin, and the false narratives around the
COVID-19 pandemic.

Kamikaze Marketing: Why One Corporation After Another Is Falling on Its Woke Sword "IndyWatch Feed Survival"
A while back, I covered the mysterious CEI scores that seemed to be the root of Budweisers poorly thought-out marketing campaign with transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney. Budweiser and its parent company, Anheuser Busch, have since lost more than $15.7 billion dollars in revenue, a number that is almost unfathomable to most of us.
Youd think that this would be a cautionary tale about what the average folks in America want. Youd think this would stop marketing firms in the tracks before making a similar move.
Youd be wrong.
It has people saying, What on earth are they thinking? as it happens again and again. Thats what this article is all about. What theyre thinking. Because go woke, go broke is not actually as clear-cut as we might think. The apparent suicide missions may not be quite as deadly as expected.
The conclusions in this article may not be popular. But when I begin researching to answer a question Ive posed, I have an obligation to share my findings honestly, whether I like those findings or not.
Since that ill-considered partnership, it seems like huge companies are following Anheuser Busch off the exact same cliff in a mission of corporate suicide.

AITA for telling my best friend his GF is disgusting?
I (22f) have been friends with Danny (22m) since high school and he recently moved in with his current gf Lucy (22f).
They had a housewarming party on Friday and Lucy spent most of the night dancing with her own friends who are very like her (excitable extroverted e.g) and dragging Danny away from his conversations with us (his friends) to dance even though hes more like us (introverted not party animals)
Later Danny was being quiet so I asked if he was okay and he said just tired, but he just kept watching Lucy dancing and then said something in her ear the next time she came over and she just shook her head and laughed at him.
After she went back to her friends I asked if it was bothering him how she was behaving and he asked me to explain. I mentioned the attention seeking dancing and the fact she was wearing something really revealing even though other guys were at this party. Danny said it didnt bother him then sat with a moody face.
At the end of the night Lucy sat down with us and started chatting non stop about how amazing the party had been. I pointed out jokingly Danny obviously wasnt enjoying himself since he looked miserable, and Danny told her I was worried he was jealous because of her outfit.
Lucy ruffled his hair (which he h**es) and said he was quiet because he loved her outfit so much he couldnt wait for us all to leave so he could drag her to bed. I thou...

Three journals web domains expired. Then major indexes pointed to hijacked versions "IndyWatch Feed Health"
Have you heard about hijacked journals, which take over legitimate publications titles, ISSNs, and other metadata without their permission? We recently launched the Retraction Watch Hijacked Journal Checker, and will be publishing regular posts like this one to tell the stories of some of those cases.
When web domains of legitimate journals expire, fraudulent publishers have an opening to hijack them by registering the expired domains and creating clone websites that mimic the genuine journal.
In 2015, John Bohannon found fraudulent publishers had hijacked the websites of several legitimate journals indexed in Web of Science. The expired domains of GMP Review and Ludus Vitalis, which Web of Science listed as their official homepages, were registered by the fraudulent publishers, who created clone journals offering to publish papers for a fee.
Taking over expired domains remains a successful strategy for fraudulent publishers, because potential authors may use the websites listed in scientometric databases to verify the authenticity of a journal. Recently, three examples have come to light of journals with domains that expired and were hijacked by fake journals.
One of the hijacked titles is the Russian Law Journal. The website of the journal expired at the end of 2022, and a new journal imitating the original was set up by January 2023:

Apocalyptic Art
Day 4 of the 365 Days Art Challenge.
'This is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper." T.S Eliot
For centuries, artists and creatives alike have depicted the Apocalypse, which is the fantastical, unimaginable end of the world and all life on it. At some point it is going to happen, maybe about 5 million years away when the sun burns out, so perhaps it is this truth that has artists thinking of what this end may look like. Since it will happen, down the track.
Recently it has felt like humanity was in the midst of it with the advent of Covid, but also with the devastation that climate change has been and is inflicting on the land and people globally. It is very easy to start to think of the end, grim as that may sound.
When I had created yesterday's challenge, even though I wasn't happy with the art work, I was very much intrigued by the colours in the background which reminded me of an apocalyptic feel, vibe. So today's challenge I set myself the task of creating an art piece that may illustrate that to some extent.
I have to add that the art works are created very quickly and are rough, but what I am liking is the fact that other ideas are able to be generated from these pieces. Ideas that will develop into more substantiative works. In this case, Apocalyptic Feel, May 26, 2023. Ink on paper. I wanted to incorporate the warm colours of reds, oranges, pinks, purples and a splash of yellow for the sun. These powerful colours embody the end, a...

Living green walls and upcycled building materials are welcome environmentally-conscious design trends, but when it comes to sustainable architecture, the living root bridges made by indigenous Khasi and Jaintia people in the north-eastern Indian state of Meghalaya have them beat by centuries.
These traditional plant-based suspension bridges make it much easier for villagers to travel to neighboring communities, markets and outlying farms by spanning the dense tropical rainforests many gorges and rivers.
Their construction requires patience, as builders train the aerial roots of well-situated, mature rubber fig trees into position using bamboo, old tree trunks, and wire for support, weaving more roots in as they become available.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) Price Slump Leaves Over 1 Million Wallets In The Red Zone "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has experienced a significant price drop, causing a considerable number of investors to find themselves in a precarious position.
With the recent downward trend in SHIBs value, a staggering 1 million addresses now find themselves in the red zone, facing losses in their investment.
In the context of crypto trading, the term red zone often refers to a situation where a digital currency is experiencing a significant decline or negative price movement. It is commonly associated with bearish market conditions or a downtrend.
This turn of events has sparked concern and curiosity among cryptocurrency enthusiasts and market observers alike, as they analyze the factors behind the price decline and its implications for the future of Shiba Inu and its large investor base.
In the midst of a volatile cryptocurrency market, the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB) on CoinGecko currently sits at a meager $0.00000852. Recent data indicates that SHIB experienced a modest 0.4% rally within the past 24 hours, but endured a gradual 2.0% decline over the span of seven days.
According to IntoTheBlock the Break Even Price indicator, the price movement has left a significant impact on SHIB investors. Out of the total SHIB addresses analyzed, approximately 1 million addresses, accounting for 79.74%, find themselves in losses.
On the other hand, 219,880 addresses (17.51%) have either realized gains or are currently in profit. Additionally, 34,600 addresses (2.76%) are at a break-even point, meaning they are neither in losses nor profits.

Back in 1982, the PBS American Playhouse series aired Jonathan Demmes made-for-TV film based on the Kurt Vonnegut story, Who Am I This Time? Now, thanks to the YouTube channel Chicken Soup for the Soul TV, you can watch the rarely-seen film online. The channel writes:
Mix together a small town community theatres shy leading man and the lovely telephone worker who moves into town and you have a perfect recipe for a delightful romantic comedy. Academy Award-winners Susan Sarandon and Christopher Walken star as the couple who discover that affairs of the heart on the stage may be a bit less complicated than continuing the romance off the stage. Director Jonathan Demme, an Academy Award-winner, deftly weaves this endearing tale of love in bloom from Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.s story.
While the video quality is grainy, the movie is still significant for serving as an early career vehicle for Sarandon, Walken and director Demme. This isnt exactly Before They Were Stars after all, by 1982, Walken had already won an Oscar for The Deer Hunter,
Sarandon had already starred in Rocky Horror and been nominated for an Oscar for Atlantic City, and Demme, although still a decade away from his biggest work, had already directed the acclaimed Melvin & Howard.
Watch other complete films on the Chicken Soup for the Soul TV Youtube Channel, or on their free-standing website. Enjoy.

Ticketmaster Hits Charlie Bucket with $98.75 Service Fee for Finding Golden Ticket "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
WONKAVILLE Lucky golden ticket winner Charlie Bucket, age 9, was surprised to find himself the recipient of a $98.75 bill from Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. for service fees, confirmed frustrated bed-ridden sources.
I was so excited to visit Wonkas factory, its been a dream of mine to see such a magical place, said Bucket. But my family couldnt afford the service fee. Golly, I was so looking forward to eating a few delicious Zombobbly Wingers or whatever. I told the customer service representative about our problem and Ticketmaster sent someone to my house and threatened Grandma Josephine. This was supposed to be a fun trip full of whimsy, but its turned into an absolute nightmare before we even got to the front gates.
William Wonka, proprietor of the Wonka Chocolate Factory, says that the scope of the contest necessitated the partnership with Ticketmaster.
I needed to make sure that the tickets were shipped all over the world so that I could teach young children unnecessarily harsh lessons about life and hand my fortune over to one of them. Ticketmaster was the only company with the logistical capacity to do that, said Wonka while concocting a new treat that would turn a child inside out as soon as they ate it. Plus, they gave me an incredible deal on the golden tickets. Im sorry young Charlie will be unable to visit the factory, but what can you do? I guess thats one less unhinged death song the Oompa Loompas will be forced to sing during their lunch break.
Ticketmaster representative Trisha Bartley maintains that the fees are nothing out of the ordinary, and are simply a part of doing business.
We here at Ticketmaster love connecting our customers with the venues and artists they love by placing ourselves directly between them, said Bartley. Our service fees are a sign of our commitment to providing the best possible experience for those who can afford it. We wish the little Bucket boy the best and are saddened he is unable to meet the necessary requirements as set forth in our terms of service located clearly on the reverse of each golden ticket in size 2 font.
At press time, Wonka was seen calling the police on a homeless man with a sign reading I Need Golden Tickets.

Mom Switching Laundry Loads During Band Practice Not Even Here "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
ADELPHI, Md. Local Mom, Susan Campbell, informed her sons band to keep playing and not to pay her any mind as she is just throwing a load of linens in the dryer and isnt really even here, confirmed sources who feel weird playing in front of her.
I tend to stay out of the boys way when theyre practicing, but the day kind of got away from me and you dont want to leave damp sheets in the washer or they get that weird mildew smell that really sinks in, the dental hygienist and mother of three reported. I told them not to stop on my account and asked them if that was a new song because I didnt think I had heard that one before. They said yes, but seemed kind of cagey. I guess its because they probably just see me as Billys uncool mom or something. I was that age once, I get it.
Bill Campbells bandmates confirmed his moms band practice.
Susan, she said we can call her that, came down and I thought maybe we were too loud or something, but she told us to keep practicing and that we sound rockin, remarked guitarist Jason Hughes. She had on noise-canceling headphones, so she claimed she couldnt really hear us. I was wondering if she was going to stick around and chat, but she just started the dryer and went back upstairs, and told us to have fun. Bill kind of winced when she called him Billy Bear so at least we got something new to needle him about out of it.
It was kind of weird, though. I saw some of her underwear, he added.
Experts note that this sort of interaction is so common its practically cliched.
For kids like Billy, what makes this especially difficult is that his mother is nothing at all the way hes led his bandmates to believe, stated child psychologist Jill Levy. Kids typically exaggerate normal parental behavior as being domineering and unfair, but for punks, its especially important for them to present an unstable homelife for the proverbial cred. As Ms. Campbell is clearly a supportive and positive presence in her sons life, his facade has been destroyed and hes been exposed as a poser who should probably leave town on the first train.
At press time, Mrs. Campbell was calling from the top of the stairs to state they were having lasagna for dinner if his friends wanted to stay.

Steven Spielberg Announces Regret for Editing Guns, Massive Alien Dong Out of E.T. "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
LOS ANGELES Steven Spielberg recently expressed regret for censoring the 20th anniversary release of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial by editing out the guns and the titular aliens massive, undulating penis, creeped-out sources confirmed.
The film was a product of its era and I should have never removed the officers guns or E.T.s giant, two-pronged cock from this beloved family film, stated Spielberg. It was a simpler time back then, a time when it was okay to show FBI agents with weapons chasing around kids or an alien with a slimy hog that gets covered in dirt, leaves, and Reeses glowed not his finger, which in retrospect is how it should have stayed because it wasnt sexual it was flaccid the entire time and kind of just comically swung around. And of course there werent any balls, aliens dont have balls.
Gen-Xer Leslie McSorley insisted that she remembered originally seeing E.T.s genitalia and wondered if it was due to some strange Mandela Effect.
I swear I recollect seeing it but none of my friends do, said a confused McSorley. I dont understand how this isnt bigger news. Its not like were talking about trivial things like how to spell that shitty Sarah Jessica Parker HBO show, or when the former President of South Africa actually died. Were talking about one of the most iconic movie characters of all time and whether he flashed us his veiny peen or not. How am I supposed to explain this to my young kids? I guess Ill just have to find a copy of the original on eBay if I ever win custody back.
Film critic Sebastian Defarge explained that audiences would be surprised about all the classic movies which have been edited.
Almost all of our favorites have been altered, described Defarge. James Cameron changed the ship in Titanic from a twenty-foot party boat to the famous luxury liner after scholars complained about historical inaccuracies. And Quentin Tarantino replaced a very uncomfortable Pulp Fiction scene where John Travoltas character tries converting Samuel Jackson to Scientology with a light-hearted discussion about fast food. Its interesting he did that but still chose to keep in all those unnecessary N-words for some reason.
At press time, Spielberg announced that the upcoming 15th-anniversary edition of The Adventures of Tintin would restore the films original iconic Golden Shower scene.
