Fish are generally not known to be clever critters with tremendous brain power. Goldfish, in particular, are believed by many to have three-second memory spans, but that's not true. Another fish's brain has recently grabbed the spotlight for a different reason. A 319-million-year-old fish fossil sitting in the Manchester Museum has revealed that within its skull are a brain and cranial nerves that are the oldest well-preserved vertebrate brain ever discovered. This rare find has excited researchers around the world and is described in a Nature paper.

Discovered over 100 years ago in a Lancashire, UK, mine, the fossil was encased in soapstone. It has since sat in the museum but was recently examined by researchers. Known as Coccocephalus wildi, it is the only specimen found of its kind. Although just the skull was discovered, the fish likely stretched six to eight inches. While not originally looking for a brain, researchers discovered a strange object in the skull using CT scans. Like vertebrate brains, the object was bilaterally symmetrical, contained hollow spaces, and had multiple filaments (like cranial nerves). The brain folds inward, unlike in today's living ray-finned fishes.

Vertebrate brains decay quickly, so finding fossilized specimens is unusual. Likely the dead critter was quickly enshrouded in sediment with low oxygen levels. Senior author of the paper Sam Giles of the University of Birmingham said in a statement, This unexpected find of a three-dimensiona...

Behavioral economics has long been cited to describe our irrational tendencies as consumers and investors. Im here to extend that discussion specifically to Bitcoin because, lets face it, when it comes to crypto in general and Bitcoin specifically, the influence of emotions, biases, heuristics and social pressure in shaping our preferences, beliefs and behaviors is profound and fascinating.

Getting Beyond FOMO

As is preached in behavioral finance, investing in anything is prone to common traps such as fear of missing out (FOMO), loss aversion, groupthink (the bandwagon effect) and the sunk-cost fallacy which account for people holding onto their investments longer than they should.

Cognitive journeys such as these are nicely demonstrated in the chart below which, ironically, was created by Credit Suisse. In light of recent events, perhaps it shouldve been wary of overreach bias! But lets not kick it while its down.

Concepts of behavioral finance and Bitcoin certainly have interesting parallels. For example: FOGI (not the old type), or fear of getting in. Chalk that up to a nascent trading marketplace which can be incredibly confusing and (for many) require a technological leap of faith.

Yet, anyone who thinks this is a new phenomenon need only look to the launch of online banking, bill pay and mobile deposits to know that there is hesitancy...

The Bitcoin Beach Wallet has officially changed its name to Blink to better reflect its vision of becoming the best tool for bottom-up Bitcoin adoption.

The wallet was initially launched in 2020 in El Salvador's El Zonte as part of the Bitcoin Beach project's goal of creating a circular Bitcoin economy. The name change reflects the wallet's expansion beyond its original intended purpose. The wallet has grown to become a popular Lightning wallet for Bitcoin community projects and Lightning enthusiasts worldwide.

Blink plans to enable any user to set their local currency in Q2 2023, making it easier for users to onboard and use bitcoin. The wallet also features in-app Bitcoin education, where users can earn sats for learning about Bitcoin's basics.

Blink also has merchant features that make it easy and flexible for businesses to receive payments over Lightning and on-chain, including LN address, a Lightning cash register, and a printable pay code. Blink also integrates Nostr, making it a go-to custodial wallet for tipping, testing or traveling.

According to Blink's team, "the declared purpose of becoming the best tool for bottom-up Bitcoin adoption has attracted tens of thousands of active users and many requests for features that would increase utility and accessibility across countries and cultures." The team's vision for Blink is for it to be available in every language where there's a Bitcoin community project.

The press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine described how the wallet's name change is significant, as its previous acronym was problematic. Blink's new name represents speed and positivity, and it will communicate with customers well before changing the name and icon of the app. According to the team, "the name Blink represents the glimmer in the eye of a person who just received their first sats. It's the embodiment of a transaction zapping across the world, connecting two people who never before could transmit value to each other."

The US Government Sold Nearly 10,000 Silk Road Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Uncle Sam made off with more than $215 million this month as it began to liquidate portions of seized bitcoin.

The United States government has been selling bitcoin confiscated from the Silk Road case in 2013.

According to a court filing, the government sold 9,861.1707894 Bitcoin on March 14, 2023, for a total of $215,738,154.98. After transaction fees, the net proceeds for the government were $215,522,416.83. The government also revealed that there are still around 41,490.72 bitcoin left to be sold, which they plan to sell in four more batches over the course of this year.

Previously, the government has auctioned bitcoin, opting instead to proceed with open market sales this time.

The Silk Road was a darknet marketplace that was used to sell drugs, amongst other services. Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road, was convicted in 2015 and sentenced to life in prison. Ulbricht now seeks clemency, as a double life sentence without parole for entirely non-violent charges illustrates the governments desire to make an example of those who build platforms outside their jurisdiction.

Bitcoin Magazine recently opened an art gallery in Nashville, Tennessee, which currently houses a life-size jail cell Ross Ulbricht exhibit, including art that Ulbricht made in prison, as well as writing from ulbricht.

Bitcoins price action as of late has been exciting for those who watched it fall from all-time highs of $69,000, to local lows of less than $16,000. While the government has been selling bitcoin, other institutions like MicroStrategy have been acquiring it.

Theres a difference but not enough

The lie has become as much an operating system for the Democrats as the DOS operating system for modern computers. Using the classic Communist Manifesto of Karl Marx, the Democrats accuse everyone they oppose, harass, and try to delegitimize as being guilty of the same things they specialize at-ruthless deception! Some people try to allege that there is no difference between both American political parties that the Republicans are simply destroying America at a slower pace, but they are the only party that confronts the Democrats, cross examines their hypocritical conduct under committee investigations, and exposes the leftists for their evil agenda. You hardly see any social media platforms calling out the Democrats for their destructive anti-American policies or their globalist supporting agenda.

Boerse Stuttgart Digital has received its final license from Germany's financial regulator BaFin to offer bitcoin trading and custody.

Boerse Stuttgart Digital, a subsidiary of the second largest stock exchange in Germany, has received the final license as a cryptocurrency custodian from Germany's financial regulator, BaFin. The license allows the exchange to provide institutional investors the ability to trade bitcoin on the platform as well as to act as a custodian.
The exchange has been offering custody services through its Blocknox platform since January 2020, under a provisional license. With this new licensing, it will join the ranks of several major international firms officially entering into the bitcoin custodial and trading industry as of late.

Fidelity opened their bitcoin trading platform to the public this month, allowing institutional investors the option to hold their bitcoin with them as well. In addition to that, Latin Americas largest e-commerce platform by market value, Mercado Libre, introduced bitcoin trading to their Chilean users, which was already available in Brazil.

It should be noted that all of these platforms bear the risks associated with third-party custody of your bitcoin. The safest way to ensure your bitcoin is always accessible and always available is through self-custody, using a dedicated bitcoin wallet. Platforms like Boerse Stuttgart Digital and Fidelity have made bitcoin trading available to investors on these platforms, but do not necessarily further enable the true potential of bitcoin adoption.

The massive growth in hash rate has some speculating on whos behind such a sizable increase, plus an update of public bitcoin miners.

Hash Rate On The Move

The Bitcoin network hash rate is on the move this year, now at an all-time high of 350 EH/s and up 36.7% YTD. Hash rate has been following the surge in price, which is the likely result of more machines coming online at a more profitable price point. In 2022, there was a lot of unused, newer inventory of ASICs that sat idle at lower bitcoin prices and have now made their way onto the network as public miners continued to expand, most noticeably in companies like Marathon Digital Holdings, Riot Platforms and Cipher Mining Technologies.

The surge in hash rate is a result of longer-term investment and expansion decisions that are now materializing after a time lag. As noted, some miners kept their machines on the sidelines while the bitcoin price was lower and less profitable to mine. Another possibility, according to an analysis from Miner Mag, suggests a high share of miner rig imports into the U.S. in January may have played a significant role in the expansion of hash rate. Those shipments have since slowed down, which may indicate an upcoming period of cooling off after this recent hash rate growth. Estimating the breakdown and contributions of factors on why exactly the hash rate is rising is always layered in nuance.

Average hash rate is growing at a staggering rate.

Hash rate in aggregate continued to steadily rise over the last few months while bitcoin holdings continued to decline. When we use the reported numbers for public miners hash rate at the end of February, the 292 EH/s at the end of February and the 350 EH/s online today, we conclude that public miners make up somewhere between 20% to 25% of total network hash rate on a given day....

Tuesday, March 21: Press Preview

The first thing we noted when we entered AMC Lincoln Square 13 for the New York press screening of John Wick: Chapter 4 was that film PR girls are way nicer than their fashion industry counterparts. Check-in was a breeze, and we were informed that since we had special blue wristbands, we didnt have to turn in our phones. We hadnt considered that we would potentially have to turn in our phones, but were relieved nevertheless. We were handed a very large stack of papers with a large John Wick logo at the top, containing detailed information about the franchise and a long explanation of the movies plot, which we chose not to read too closely for fear of spoilers. This heavy stack of papers was also where we first learned that the runtime was a whopping 169 minutes. This troubled us, mostly because we had had a lot of wine with dinner and were concerned that we would have to pee. The theater was packed with agitated-seeming nonjournalists who were somehow able to secure tickets. People wove up and down the aisles in a huff, frustrated by the first-come-first-served seating. To be totally honest with you, Im still a little confused. I think the biggest thing I learned is that a lot of the more reputable news outlets are behind paywalls these days. I had to get my info from a lot of sites that advertised tactical gear and dry goods.

Googles CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed an 89% increase in traffic for searches that included various misspellings of indictment.

These numbers are unprecedented. The last time we saw this sort of traffic was when people tried to figure out if they should like or dislike Edward Snowden. We are just happy that our platform can assist millions of Americans to double-check they totally understood what was going on while showing them targeted products from their favorite retailers, said Pichai. We hope to have a similar bump as soon as Trump is arraigned because Im honestly not entirely sure what that means either.

At press time, Trumps legal team was preparing an animated slideshow to explain to the former President what being indicted means.

Part of an ongoing series titled Why Not Hand Over a Shelter to Hermit Crabs?, the 3D-printed resin works resemble urban landscapes and draw similarities between human and animal environments. Inomatas designs, although not released into the wild, evoke the species organic exchanges as a way to consider the evolving nature of home.

Aaron Gouveia, a dad of three, shared the moment that his 9-year-old son Sam gifted him a shirt that he made in an after-school sewing class. The clip begins with a nervous Sam entering his dads bedroom holding a blue floral shirt. You made that? Gouveia asks, sounding impressed. Sam goes on to tell him that he stitched on the buttons and created the button holes. I got some help, the son explains, but I did most of it by myself.

Gouveia then films himself modeling the shirt. Yeah! Look at this! He says excitedly. The camera pans to Sam, who looks so happy that his dad loves the shirt. Sam then takes the camera to film the back of Gouveias new gift. He points out the box pleat on the back of the shirt, sharing how the technique was challenging but he just kept at it.

We have become guinea pigs in a ruthlessly calculated, carefully orchestrated, chillingly cold-blooded experiment on how to control a population and advance a political agenda without much opposition from the citizenry.

Ask yourselves: why are we being bombarded with crises, distractions, fake news, and reality TV politics? Were being conditioned like lab mice to subsist on a steady diet of bread-and-circus politics and an endless spate of crises.

Caught up in this crisis of the now, the average person has a hard time keeping up with and remembering all of the events, manufactured or otherwise, which occur like clockwork to keep us distracted, deluded, amused, and insulated from reality.

This woman is concerned, as her 18-year-old daughter is suddenly skipping school and hanging out with the wrong crowd, and lying all the time to boot.

My 17 year daughter a senior in high school, has been skipping school, smoking wd, allowing kids that do not have a DL drive my car and lying about everything.

When she ran away, OPs first reaction was to cut off her daughters phone, medical insurance, and anything else that she pays for until she agrees to at least finish school.

She has now ran away because I told her she had to finish high school. My house rules are the following: tell me where you are, dont lie and finish high school. She has been doing all the above.

I told her she since she didnt want to attend school here she could go to her dad or grandparents.

She chose to runaway when I wasnt looking.

So I plan on canceling her phone, which I pay, took my GI bill back that gave for her to use for college, and plan on pausing her insurance.

Unearthed emails from 2020 prove that covid PCR testing is a SCAM "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"

From censoredscience.com: The PCR tests that the government pushed on the masses during the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic are nothing more than a scam, unearthed emails show. Prof. Martin Neil in September 2020 received a handful of anonymous emails that unequivocally prove the fraudulent nature of PCR tests, which were never designed to detect viruses. Some of the [test] sequences are found in the human genome itself, one of the emails reads. Further, the cycling threshold of PCR testing kits was almost uniformly set too high, resulting in lots of false positives. And were these kits ever even approved or certified for such testing in the first place? Absolutely not. One of the biggest smoking guns is the gene sequencing that Dr. Christian Drosten used in his blueprint covid testing system, which was spread around the world. Drosten, the guy credited with inventing the screening system for covid, never isolated the virus nor even had access to it. Instead, he downloaded the virus RNA sequence from a Chinese database, reports explain. Drosten subsequently created the first commercially available RT-PCR screening kit based on this genome. The Chinese researchers later claimed the isolated virus sample became unusable shortly after uploading the sequence so they destroyed all remains. We host shows almost every week and that dude was the first one to complain about the leaky pipes. Just because the toilet empties directly into the rain gutter and occasionally the kitchen sink catches fire dont mean nothings wrong with our plumbing. The Roux Kitchen is the latest endeavor by renowned French celebrity chef Claude Tremblay and is one of the hottest fusion restaurants in the city. Located in what was once a dilapidated rubber factory, Tremblay hopes to entice eager diners with a one-of-a-kind tasting experience.

And as one of the lucky few to experience the soft opening, I can safely say that I really wished I hadnt filled up on all their free bread before this $500 meal.

Mind you, getting a reservation for this place was next to impossible. I had to pay a guy $70 on Craigslist to take his spot so I could review this place. I dont think my editor is going to reimburse me for that.

I mean the bread was so damn good! It must have come out of the oven like five seconds before it hit the table. Before I knew it Id been through three loaves, but the show must go on.

First I ordered ground pork jiaozi. Each dumpling felt like a soldier trying to flashbang their way into my carb fortified stomach. The perfectly complimenting soy and ginger dipping sauce is making them go down easier. Perhaps a second wind was in my future!

Next, I scoured the menu for anything that wouldnt make me burst like a bloated dick. I settled on the duck cabbage salad, which was served to me in a bowl as big as my head. How did I forget this place serves everything family style? My taste buds were telling me this is immaculate, but my stomach was telling my brain Danger: intestinal blockage immenant.

I tried to throw up in the bathroom, twice, but the attendant seemed like the judgemental type and I chickened out. Besides, puking your guts out in a Michelin-star chefs restaurant isnt a good look. With every burp, all I taste is artisanal sourdough and I began to wonder if I could force my body to throw up in small portions under the table.

Confederate Flag To Be Digitally Replaced With Punisher Skull in Dukes of Hazzard Reruns "IndyWatch Feed Satire"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Country Music Television finally gave in to public pressure and agreed to omit the Confederate flag from future airings of the Dukes of Hazzard, replacing it with the Punisher skull, according to sources within the network.

Because nothing says blue lives matter like two rebel moonshiners running from the police.

Dukes mega-fan Earl F. Gacy was initially angered by the change but soon came around.

Youre damned right I was pissed off. Ive based my entire heritage on those three and a half years the Confederacy existed. But then, I watched an episode with the Punisher skull on the General Lee, and it gave me a newfound sense of purpose. It made me want to go back to 2020 so I could fight the guy at Costco that made me wear a mask, said Gacy while field-dressing a wild squirrel. Besides, maybe its time we move forward and embrace some new iconography that really captures the spirit of true patriots. The Punisher skull really is basically just a modern Confederate flag, only with the implicit threat of extrajudicial violence.

They needed the beneficiaries info, name, date of birth, contact information, and it asked for social security number too. I called my dad, told him what I was doing, he gave me the info and that was that. I called my fiance and asked him and he immediately got defensive.

Why do you need that, what is this for?! Valid question, but I had told him at the beginning it was so he could be a beneficiary to my life insurance policy. A Preppers Argument for More American 3D Printers "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Im looking at the events taking place in America, and I thoroughly believe that if more Americans had and were comfortable with the ins-and-outs of 3D printers, we could ride over a lot of the rough and bumpy roads that were dealing with. There is a lot of content out there about 3D-printed firearms, but youd be limiting yourself dramatically if you only used them for that purpose.

Is a 3D printer a panacea? By no means. Its a piece of equipment.

But it is capable of a lot. Following, find a few examples of ways they could be used.

Shortages are just one reason.

Lets say that you work at a factory that needs a specific component to make an essential piece of equipment work. That component breaks, and because of trade embargoes with China (because they invade Taiwan), because of supply chain problems (because of strikes, gas prices, inflation, new geofence laws, etc.), and because of factory issues, nobody can get you that component anymore.

Or, at the least, that component now has a five-week waiting list, and you cant not have that piece of equipment for five weeks.

A 3D printer could likely print out the part thats needed, or at least a functional, short-term alternative, making it so that the factory could squeak by until the real component finally shows up.

What about inflation?

Youre having a harder and harder time buying the things that you need. Hyperinflation causes you to have to pay a wheelbarrow full of cash to buy the gear you need.

If more people knew a thing or two about 3D printers, though, they could likely print out exactly what they needed for pennies on the dollar.

These work great for hard-to-reach areas as well.

Consider a Hurricane Katrina or Balto-style event.

An isolated region is now in need of critical supplies, and traditional logistics are impossible. 3D printers in these areas could print out what is needed. If we lay aside all thoughts on whether paper masks work to protect you against viruses or not, we can find examples of this from 2020. Hospitals decided they needed PPE (and nasal swabs). They couldnt get the PPE they wanted. 3D printers were used to print the PPE hospitals wanted.

The same could be done in a Balto event.

The arrested judges include six from Riyadhs Specialised Criminal Court (SCC). They were Abdullah bin Khaled Al-Luhaidan, Abdulaziz Bin Medawi Al-Jaber, Jundub al-Muferrih, Abdulaziz Bin Fahad Al-Dawood, Talal Al-Humaidan, and Fahad Al-Sughayyer.

Aside from these six judges, Saudi Arabias State Security Agency also apprehended Khalid Bin Awaidh Al-Qahtani, Nasser Bin Saud Al-Harbi, Muhammed Al-Omari, and Muhammed Bin Musfir Al-Ghamdi in April last year. They were former justices from the countrys High Court.

"The shocking charges leveled against these judges, many of whom have issued egregiously abusive sentences against Saudi citizens at the behest of the Crown Prince, demonstrates that no one is safe in Saudi Arabia," Abdullah Alaoudh, DAWNs director for the Gulf region, have warned.

"The prosecution of these judges is emblematic of the Crown Prince's wider purges within the country and his attempts to make the judiciary subservient solely to his wishes," Alaoudh added.
