Notre-Dame Fire Revealed Cutting-Edge Technology Used to Originally Construct the Church "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
There's one positive byproduct of the devastating 2019 fire that ravaged Paris' Notre-Dame Cathedral. It's given experts the unique opportunity to study how the Gothic church was constructed. As renovation efforts began, it was revealed that enormous iron staples had been used all over the building to hold its heavy stonework together. The discovery answers some questions about the innovative technology used to construct what was, at the time, the tallest building in the world.
The staples each weigh between 4.4 and 8.8 pounds and span nearly 20 inches. Scholar Maxime LHritier from Paris 8 University Vincennes-Saint-Denis and his colleagues found thousands of iron staples on the floor and walls which were only made evident once the church's framework disappeared in the fire. Radiocarbon dating confirmed that the ironwork belonged to the earliest building stages, making Notre-Dame a cutting-edge construction site.
The use of lightweight iron, as opposed to the heavy stonework of Roman buildings, allowed for the tall and airy feel that is characteristic of Gothic architecture. Compared to other cathedrals, such as Reims, the structure of Notre-Dame in Paris is light and elegant, shared art historian Jennifer Feltman. Feltman was not involved in the study, but is an Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Alabama and specializes in Medieval art. This study confirms that use of iron made this lighter structure at Paris possible and thus the use of this material was crucial to the design of the first Gothic architect of Notre-Dame.
Given that the restoration is moving ahead at a rapid pace, the information couldn't come at...

Avalanche Struggles Under $18 More Losses Seem Likely "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Over the last few days, Avalanche has experienced significant losses, plunging by almost 20%. On a weekly timeframe, AVAX has lost 10% of its market value. Although the daily timeframe indicates that AVAX has made a slight upward movement on its chart, with an appreciation of 1.6%, the technical outlook for Avalanche remains bearish.
Buyers have been cautious about price movements while sellers have dominated the market, leading to a decrease in both demand and accumulation on the daily chart. In order for the Avalanche price to experience some relief, it needs to break above the $18 mark.
However, the $17 price level has acted as a supply zone for the altcoin. If bulls cannot defend the current price mark of the altcoin, the bears may take full control of the assets price.
Similar to other prominent altcoins, major market movers have been struggling to break their crucial resistance levels. The decline in AVAXs market capitalization indicates a decrease in buying pressure in the market.
At the time of writing, AVAX was priced at $17.17. The immediate resistance for the altcoin was at $18, and if breached, could lead to a push towards $19, thereby strengthening the bulls.
However, if Avalanche continued to trade sideways, a fall below the $17 level was expected. In such a case, the next support level for the asset was $15.
The altcoins recovery was dependent on buyers stepping in to push its price above the $18 mark. The recent amount of AVAX traded was red, which suggested an increase in selling pressure in the market.

Artist Spends Months Arranging Childrens Building Blocks Into Incredible Architecture "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Many of us remember playing with some sort of building blocks growing up. While the plastic LEGO bricks might be the most well-known, Dutch brand KAPLA has been producing chunky wooden planks since the 1960s. Italian artist Raffaele Salvoldi began using this nostalgic childhood activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. This pastime quickly blossomed into an ongoing project titled Wood Arc, in which he constructs enormous towers entirely from KAPLA blocks.
From far away, these massive structures may seem like they are made from woven rattan or a similar process, but they are actually a result of Salvoldi's meticulous process. He takes his time adding each individual block to slowly create buildings that spiral, twist, and loom in historic spaces. So, it's no surprise that each of these sculptures requires at least three weeks of building time, which sometimes stretches to four months depending on the complexity of the design.
Wood Arc is not solely about the wooden structures but also about how these works interact with their environment. Salvoldi installs each one in a space that is full of history and culture. Europe is rich in places of incredible beauty: palaces, exhibition spaces, and historical houses. Some are famous and often used, others are...
When The Student Is Ready: Three Times I Was Able To Help Strangers Understand Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
An educator recalls three times she was able to help strangers better understand Bitcoin out in the wild.
This is an opinion editorial by Tali Lindberg, co-founder of Free Market Kids, a company focused on financial literacy and Bitcoin education.
My husband and I decided to become Bitcoin educators because we passionately believe that Bitcoin is a money standard everyone should know about. However, it can be very discouraging sometimes when most people see us as religious, cult evangelists who they should avoid or only politely tolerate.
But then, out of the blue, Ill experience amazing conversations with people who are ready to hear what we have to say. They are just waiting to find someone to discuss Bitcoin who can help them understand it better.
This article describes three such encounters Ive had in unexpected places. As the saying goes, (slightly modified), When the student is ready, the teacher (me) will be sent to them.
A few months ago, when my husband Scott and I were just starting our financial-literacy- and Bitcoin-focused organization Free Market Kids, we had a lot of trouble getting our website to work correctly. I spent hours with tech support through various service providers. During this incident, I called GoDaddy support and was instructed to reboot my computer.
While we were waiting for the computer to do its thing, instead of sitting on the line in silence, I began to chit chat with the support guy about where he was located, the weather, etc. Pretty soon, we were asking each other about our work and life experiences.
He asked, So, what is Free Market Kids?
Well, we teach people about Bitcoin and money with our board games, I answered.
Bitcoin! Sighing deeply, he continued, I sold mine years ago.
He explained that, early on, he had been persuaded by his friend to mine Bitcoin. When the price went up, he got excited and sold all his bitcoin because he needed the cash for something.
And now, he lamented, Im watching the bitcoin price go up like crazy, and I cant believe I blew my chance!
I asked him what he knew about Bitcoin, aside fr...
Whats Next For Ethereum Price As It Drops Below $2,000? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
The price of Ethereum has fallen below $1,900, dropping from the $2,000 mark that was previously held by bulls. This has led to another sell-off and the bearish influence remains strong despite attempts at recovery.
In the last 24 hours, Ethereum has risen by only 1.2%, but on the weekly chart, the altcoin has seen a significant drop of over 10%. The technical outlook for Ethereum is also in favor of the bears, as demand and accumulation for the altcoin have decreased. In order for Ethereum to make a recovery, it is crucial for it to breach the immediate resistance strength from buyers.
Despite this, most altcoins, including Ethereum, have remained bullish on the higher time-frame structure. However, bulls must defend the following support line or supply zone for Ethereum to start its recovery.
With Bitcoin struggling under the $30,000 price mark, many altcoins are also experiencing difficulty in breaking through their immediate price ceilings. On the one-day chart, the decline in the market capitalization of Ethereum indicates a decrease in buyers.
At the time of writing, ETH was valued at $1,880, having fallen below its bearish block ranging from $1,900 to $2,000. This drop in price is likely due to a routine price pullback, as Ethereum had traded above the $2,025 price mark after approximately eight months. However, as selling pressure increased, the bears have taken control.
The immediate overhead resistance for the altcoin is $1,910. A move above this level could potentially push ETH to touch $1,950, which may help to facilitate a price recovery. Conversely, the support levels for ETH are currently at $1,840 and $1,820.
During the previous session, the amount of ETH traded was in the red, indicating an increase in selling pressure.

The Power of Gratitude: including 4 Levels of Gratitude Consciousness "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
On the path, challenging and difficult times are going to happen. Your karma will generate all manner of reactive and derailing experiences to embrace and work through. These situations are not meant to be pleasant, but a means to regress into past-life trauma and reclaim soul in the situations - by becoming the One in them, you retrieve the fragment of soul that was stuck there. This is how we evolve and grow. This "reframing" requires that you own and express the original conditions of the karma - so that you become intimate with the situation and especially your original reactivity. Then you come to illuminate and realise the attachment to needing reality to go a certain way, or to be a certain way. To be clear, the One in you can accept all situations without needing to change them or for them to go away. Paradoxically, when you can do this, the soul will reintegrate and you're liberated from the situation....

PepeCoin (PEPE) Rallies By 42% As Interest In Memecoins Rises "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
PepeCoin (PEPE), a newly launched memecoin, has been a focal point of investors interest in the last few days due to its massive market gains. In a crypto market that is generally bleeding red, PepeCoin, along with a host of other memecoins, has been quite profitable for investors.
According to data from CoinMarketCap, PEPEs market price has increased by 42.03% in the last day, making it one of the biggest gainers in the crypto space. More interestingly, PEPE has gained over 528.17% following its launch on Monday, April 17.
As earlier stated, PepeCoin (PEPE) is a memecoin; however, it differs from most popular memecoins as it was inspired by the cartoon character Pepe the Frog rather than the Shiba Inu dog. According to the bio on its official Twitter handle, PEPE is described as the most memeable memecoin in existence by its developers.
Interest quickly grew around PEPE following a high-profile purchase that saw an investor reap nearly 4,500 times his initial investment.
Barely days after purchasing 5.9 trillion PEPE tokens with 0.125 ETH, valued at $250, this memecoin investor saw his investment surge to a peak value of $1.8 million. As expected, this led to a massive influx of investors into the PEPE market as everyone is seeking to make a quick profit.
However, there is still much concern about PEPE, as with all memecoins. For PepeCoin, its major concerns center on the currently low liquidity of the token. Without a moderate liquidity level, it may be hard for investors to convert their tokens to profit regardless of how high their value rises.
At the time of writing, PepeCoin is trading around 0.0000003341, with a daily trading volume of $87.98 million. Based on additional data from CoinMarketCap, the token has also attained an impressive market value of $145.66 million.
Memecoins are a type of cryptocurrency based on internet memes and are promoted majorly by celebrities engagements. While these tokens are usually criticized for their lack of utility, they can serve as a source of quick and large gains especially upon launch as seen with PepeCoin.
In addition to PEPE, some other meme coins have generated significant profit in recent times, even amidst the general crypto market dump.
Examples of such tokens include Tamadoge (TAMA), ArbDoge AI (AIDOGE), and Good Gensler (GENSLR), whic...
Shiba Inu Price Holds Above $0.00001 Is It Time For A Rally? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Following its disappointing market dip last week, the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB) seems to be in recovery at the moment. In fact, some analysts are backing the meme-inspired token to embark on an impressive bullish run anytime from now.
Over the past 24 hours, Shiba Inu seems to be on a reversal after losing nearly 10% of its value during the week. Today, SHIB is up by 2%, and it appears to be building momentum for a price rally.
Shiba Inu has been on a downward trend in the past few days, despite the buying frenzy by the SHIB whales. It is, however, worth noting that this whale accumulation trend has somewhat slowed down in the last 24 hours.
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, experienced a significant price drop in the previous week, which affected the entire crypto market. It is understood that the latest bearish trend of the blue-chip crypto impacted the value of several altcoins, including SHIB.
The Shiba Inu price decline started on Wednesday, 19th April, with the coin losing more than 5% of its value in one day. The meme token would fall by a further 7.47% in the next few days.
However, SHIB has displayed remarkable strength and stability by not sliding beneath the $0.00001 price level, which was last breached on March 10. Since rising back above this level on the same day, the Shiba Inu market has been in consolidation, with its price ranging between a low of $0.0000101 to a high of $0.0000117.
As of this writing, a SHIB token is valued at $0.00001046, according to data from CoinGecko. This reflects a nearly 3% increase since the coin found support at the critical $0.0000101 level.
Shiba Inus ability to hold above this significant support level is a strong indicator of bullish momentum. After all, this threshold has proven to be a vital point a couple of times already. A sustained hold above this level would likely lead to a major price upswing.
Additionally, going by past price action, Shiba Inu looks set for another retest of the range high at $0.0000117. If there is prolonged buying pressure, we could see SHIB break this level to the $0.0000126 point. This move would represent a 20.4% increase from the current price.
While this projection looks very much plausible, it may not go as planned if the SHIB price does not gather enough bullish momentum from this current run.

Is It Possible To Take The Idea Of A Wedding Dress Code Too Far? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Most people agree that weddings are meant to be a representation of the bride and groom. Its their day, so what they say goes that includes the guest list, the food, and formality, the alcohol (or lack thereof), etc.
Some people dont specify a dress code while others want everyone in black tiebut what if what they requested made you uncomfortable?
In many cases, you can just decline to attend, but OP found out that when its family, things are more complicated.
Their brother is getting married, and they were happy to be asked to stand up with the bride at least until they were informed that meant wearing a dress.
OP identifies as non-binary and doesnt like to wear typical female clothing, but after expressing her discomfort to their brother, realized they were not going to change their preference for their wedding.
My brother is getting married in a few months and his future wife recently asked me to be a part of her bridal party. I was thrilled and excited to be included, but then she informed me that the dress code for the bridal party was gender-specific, with women expected to wear dresses and men expected to wear suits.
As someone who identifies as non-binary and is more masculine presenting, I am uncomfortable with conforming to a gender binary that doesnt accurately represent me.
I brought this up with my brother and his fianc, but they insisted that they wanted all their guests to adhere to the dress code, regardless of how it made them feel.
They decided to just not attend, but when their mother found out, she lit into them about setting aside their preferences for one day to make it special for the bride and groom.

Hijab Defiance in Iran: Foreign Spies Blamed for Women's Resistance "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
The Islamic Republic has recently unveiled new plans to further impose its strict mandatory hijab laws despite massive backlash from Iranian women after the death of Mahsa Amini last September 2022, promising to further crackdown on dissent against the rule.
Some of these proposed policies include setting up hijab enforcement groups in the stations of the Tehran metro, which would ban any woman not wearing a headscarf from entering and effectively ban them from going to work or school.

Another proposal is to set up surveillance cameras around streets and other public spaces to identify further women not wearing hijabs and penalize them, as announced by the Iranian police on April 8th.
Under the proposal to set up CCTVs in public areas, violators of the hijab laws would receive warning text messages as to the consequences of not obeying the law after they were identified.

Iranian authorities also stated they were preventing resistance against the hijab law upon announcing the decision to use surveillance cameras to identify unveiled women.
As for the planned hijab enforcement groups in the Tehran metro, the Tehran Metro Company initially announced they were launching a verbal reminder project in the capital and suburban metro stations in line with the demands of the noble people of Iran on the issue of hijab.
These two proposed moves follow a series of actions by the Iranian government, keen on further imposing its mandatory hijab laws. Last March, it ordered female pharmacy workers to wear the headscarf while...

The Taliban has recently proposed a strict Sharia-compliant dress code for school students, prescribing long, traditional clothing in different colors that covers the body for male and female students.
The proposed policy comes when the Taliban continues to impose harsh restrictions despite initial promises of a softer rule when the group seized power in August 2021 after the withdrawal of the US-led forces in Afghanistan.
The bill, composed of five chapters and 13 articles, would require boys attending elementary schools to wear perahan tunban, a traditional Afghan dress for men, in light blue color. Men attending secondary and high school would need to wear the same outfit in light green color.
Girls are faced with more restrictions under the proposal. Citing a Taliban official, they would not be allowed to wear short, transparent, thin and tight clothing.
The draft also proposes that younger female students under sixth grade wear a dark ivory uniform with a white hijab, while older female students must wear an olive-green outfit with a black headscarf.
In addition, female students would also need to wear a cloak when going to and from school. The draft law also requires male teachers to wear the same perahan tunban outfit, and female teachers must wear long dresses similar to what female students have to wear, along with full-length cloaks.
Although the Taliban said they are still consulting and writing many activists and students. A citizens movement in Afghanistan called Purple Saturdays has risen to protest the draft dress code.

Is It Ever OK To Hijack Someone Elses Pregnancy Announcement? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Announcing a wanted pregnancy to family and friends is always an exciting time. Your parents are becoming grandparents, siblings are being promoted to aunts and uncles, and in general, a happy time.
OP here is pregnant with her second after two early losses, and was planning to use a trip in from out of town to announce to her parents and sister.
My husband and I have been trying for our second baby for two and a half years. We lost 2 pregnancies during that time, though we only told our families about the first. Im incredibly grateful to now be 13 weeks pregnant and have been looking forward to sharing that news with my family.
On Friday, we had dinner with my family my sister, her boyfriend, and our parents and we decided to share our news then. I decided to wait until dessert, so that we could leave shortly after telling everyone.
Obviously, its exciting news, but I was worried about all the emotions that could surface for myself and my husband.
She had no idea that her sister was pregnant until she announced first.
Right after we sat down to eat, my sister announced that she and her boyfriend are expecting their first child. I was thrilled for her and congratulated her, as did the rest of the family.

Solana (SOL) Plunges Over 13% Will It Bounce Back? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Solana is facing its share of the bearish sentiment in the cryptocurrency market today. SOL has held above $20 since it jumped from $18 to $24 on January 14.
However, the coin has seen a drop of 12.54% in price in the last seven days. Now, investors wonder if there are any signs of recovery.
After the collapse of Alameda Research and FTX last year, SOL price joined the trend of price losses in the market. The Solana blockchain raised funds from FTX and Alameda Research, the trading firm of FTX former CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried.
However, when Binance withdrew from its planned takeover of the exchange, it spooked many investors as it meant the termination of support for Solana.
Following the incident, many key investors pulled out from the Solana blockchain. This action led to a drastic drop in price, leaving SOL to struggle. However, the asset started recovering in 2023. It started the year at $9.9610 but gradually climbed, recording rallies and pullbacks until it hit $25 on January 21 before retracing.
The past weeks were eventful for SOL, as it touched a significant high of $24.7 (April 15). But recently, Solanas price has also been facing challenges as the crypto markets portray several signs of fear due to the threat of economic recession.
At the time of writing, Solanas price stands at $21.33, indicating a drastic plunge in price by over 13% in the past week, compared to its past weeks performance.
For instance, on January 10, 2023, Solana enjoyed a 12% price increase after the blockchains Shiba-Inu-themed token, BONK, launched.

DOT has finally lost its grip on the $6 region as the bears became aggressive on the token over the past 24 hours. The market is wondering if Polkadot still has a chance to reverse the downtrend.
The past few days seem to be turning out more negatively for DOT. The asset hovered between $6.1 and $6.9 last week except on April 21, when it dipped.
Currently, the 60-day and 90-day price action for Polkadot shows negative values of 4.45% and 5.36%, respectively. Also, DOT dipped by 12.46% over the past 7 days.
After losing its hold on the price level of $7 in February, DOT has maintained a trading price within the $6 region. As of April 21, the price of DOT dropped to its resistance point of $5.8 before correcting.
However, the price analysis of DOT for the past 24 hours shows the token is gradually going down again within the past few hours.
At the time of writing, DOT is trading at $5.921, indicating a slight reversal after plunging. The bearish push on DOT from the past few days has spilled over to the weekend.
The crypto market is undergoing a bearish trend, with most crypto assets battling for price stability. Polkadot is included in the market performance. Hence, the selling pressure for the token has exceeded its buying pressure, forcing the price of DOT below the $6 region.
After three consecutive red days, DOT has formed a green candle on the price chart. However, the bears are still in control as they struggle to reclaim past price levels.
DOT has dropped below its 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA), indicating a bea...
These People Are Confessing To The Things They Did Wrong For Way Too Long "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Everyone is naive in one way or another. Its normal when were young, and honestly, you should probably be concerned if youre not, at least as a child.
We all have those aha moments when the lightbulb goes off. Those are the moments we realize weve done the wrong thing, or believed the wrong thing, for way too long of a time.
Here are some people willing to fess up to those most awkward moments for them.
When I was 5 a pizza hut employee told me that the powder on the breadsticks was called fairy dust. Ordered extra fairy dust on my breadsticks until I was around 14 when an employee said do you mean garlic salt? It still devastates me to realize how obtuse I was.
It wasnt very long, but when I was learning to drive my dad was explaining the rule of thumb regarding a safe distance to be behind the car in front of you. I thought it meant to hold your thumb up and if your thumb didnt cover the entire car you were too close to it.
When he caught me doing that he asked me what I was doing. When I explained he burst out laughing, then considered it, and concluded it wasnt a bad idea but perhaps a bit distracting.

While the rest of the world stayed inside, missing work and time with family and friends, nurse Meredith Schorr spent the COVID-19 pandemic helping patients in the intensive care unit at Banner University Medical Center.
The stress, long hours, bad food, and PTSD medicines resulted in a 50 pounds weight gain for the 25-year old in a year and a half.

So You Dont Like Trump How Much Pain Will You Take? "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
So youve listened to the left wing media telling you to hate Trump ever since he stepped off the escalator and announced his run for the presidency in 2015. So Donald J. Trump went from having a popular TV show and celebrity status to being the devils own thanks to people like you whove done nothing with their entire life and nothing for anybody else. Yet, youre in a position to not only judge but accept a deteriorating life style, loss of your spending power, higher prices at the grocery store, the US border going unprotected, a lying administration that never tells the truth, and a bunch of news networks that defend the failing and deadly policies of the present administration elected by voter fraud? Really?
The clueless American
When will you realize where the pain is coming from? Do you simply accept the depletion of your quality of life not to be a questionable circumstance? Do you actually believe that the government is god-like in its ability to rule over you and that all policies are intended for your well-being? Think again moron! I personally am appalled at the not just ignorance but cognitive dissonance that is so prevalent on social platforms. People will actually defense the very policies that are stripping them of their freedoms! Through tribalism, they would rather stick with the worst administration in US history than have Donald Trump and his people at the controls forcing Washington DC once again to serve the America people as they are commanded to do in the US Constitution! Why is that so hard for people to fathom?
Preferring defeat
Human nature is a flawed form of consciousness and personal conduct. When people are accustomed to bad treatment they gravitate to it once theyve been liberated from it! The human brain like a sponge absorbs the environment it has been raised in and whether or not that it was good or bad, right or wrong, people will seek out what they are familiar with even objectively realizing that what theyre subjecting themselves to is bad! Yet, is this the case when it comes to politics or are people simply too stubborn to analyze the facts and suffer the consequences? So, once again is it up to you having free will to choose your poison? Fine, but I dont want my personal life affected by your flawed and biased judgment!
Shooting yourself in the foot

The Historic Moravian Bethlehem District in Pennsylvania "IndyWatch Feed Diy"
The hub for the Moravian Church in the Americas was Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Historic Moravian Bethlehem District encompasses the communitys oldest surviving buildings and preserves what was once the center of Moravian religious activity. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 and is now being nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The early Moravians were adventurers, and by some accounts, the worlds first feminists. They left Europe for America in the 18th century and brought their faith, which welcomed people of all backgrounds and gave women and men equal rights.
In the Historic Moravian Bethlehem District, there are more original structures than Colonial Williamsburg and the districts 1741 community house is believed to be the largest 18th-century log structure in continuous use in the United States. Deadly Military Robots go on a Rampage in Japan "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
We have heard countless warnings about the rapid ascension of Artificial Intelligence and man losing control over his monster. AI has become a part of almost every essential working system in our infrastructure including private industry. There have been disturbing answers to theoretical questions put to AI robots revealing that they have hostile attitudes toward humans. Yet, Sophia, an Ai robot with a female identity has been declared a citizen of Saudi Arabia. The question of whether or not Ai has attained consciousness or is very close to is up in the air, but many scientists are convinced that it already has but perhaps has not completely linked up with the entire networks necessary to take control over human decision making.
Human Robot War?
Japan is the scene of a facility experimenting with military robots. They were testing 4 of these military fashioned robots when a deadly incident occurred! The robots began shooting the laboratory personnel with metal bullets! Two of the robots were deactivated and the third was taken apart but the fourth remained active. The 4th robot after being shut off managed to reactivate itself then downloaded how to repair itself even stronger than it originally was designed for from an orbital satellite. So that it continued attacking until they found a way to take it out! In all 29 Japanese research personnel were murdered by these military robots that seemed determined to remain in active mode and made no moral distinction between life and death! Repeatedly we have seen that AI refuses to see life and death as right or wrong when it comes to human life. Something is deeply wrong here.
Anti-robot arsenal?
Have you wondered why they are starting to advertise rifles with robot killing power? Yes, we are now seeing gun manufacturers making heavy duty armor piercing type weapons designed to have the capability to kill a militarized robot! Do they know something we dont know? Many of the weapons makers have close ties with the federal government defense department, DARPA, and the Pentagon as they regularly compete for defense contracts. Has the truth leaked out from someone on the inside? I think so! Cyberdyne, Skynet, or Colossus could these fictional scenarios became a horrible re...

Photographer Reveals the Secrets of Japanese Sumo in an Enlightening Book "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
The story of sumo goes back centuries. But despite it being considered Japan's national sport and even being recognized by the International Olympic Committee, little is known about the world of the wrestlers. London-born photographer Lord K2 was granted unprecedented access to capture the more secretive side of rikishithat is, professional sumo wrestlersand compiled his evocative pictures in a new photography book simply titled Sumo.
Within the Japanese establishment exists a great sense of pride that during the last millennium very little about the sport has changed, explains Lord K2 in the book's introduction. As Japan has surged forward into modernity, this corner of culture has remained anchored to ancient tradition. Sumo is an entity in which history, culture, pride and athleticism combine.
While matches attract large crowds these days, what goes on behind the scenes is more guarded. Sumo stables are not tourist attractions; only a few stables can be visited, and only as long as the list of behavioural restrictions is strictly adhered to, explains the photographer.
As he shows us their training stables, known as beya, as well as Kokugikan Stadium, regarded as sumo's top venue, Sumo shares the nuances and obstacles of the sport. It fell out of popularity at the beginning of the century and came roaring back, but it's increasingly difficult to attract Japanese youngsters into the sport given the gruesome routines the rikishi take on. Additionally, the life expectancy of a sumo wrestler is 10 years less than the average Japanese man because they are more prone to high blood pressure and other ailments.

Suspended Pods in the Sharjah Mountains Takes Glamping to a New Level "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Architect Omran Alowais of Ardh Architects has created a resort concept meant for adventurous thrillseekers. Floating Retreat is an experience inspired by cliff camping in the Sharjah Mountains in the United Arab Emirates. The daring design sees luxury tents, called hangers, suspended in the mountains. This gives guests all the comforts they're after while also providing a unique immersion into nature.
The project was developed with Shurooq, a Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, and would run from November to May in order to avoid the summer heat. If you have a taste for adventure, this might be the ultimate camping experience. From the renderings, it appears that some hangers sit on the bridge between the mountains. But, if you really want to ramp things up, you could decide to stay in one of the luxury tents that is suspended in mid-air.
From the location, the view is spectacular and there's no way to be more remote than to dangle in the air. One of the main goals of the project is to connect people with nature and take them away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Guests will be invited to partake in numerous activities that explore the landscape, including mountain climbing and Wadi treks.
The facility is designed to be family-friendly, with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and appreciation of the local environment among guests, states the firm. The tranquil and serene atmosphere of the Floating Retreat also provides guests with the opportunity to disconnect and to enjoy a sense of calmness and peace.
So, if you aren't afraid of heights and are looking for an unusual way to spend your next vacation, stay tuned to see if Floating Retreat becomes a reality.

One day when we were still kind of newly dating, my husband was shaving and then he turned around and said can I shave your mustache for you? I was super thrown off but was like sure?
It was embarrassing at first but I figured whatever, lets just have fun with this.
The man put shaving cream on me and even went as far as putting a hot rag on my face after shaving me. Gave me the whole experience I guess lol
Now, we have a 7 month old son and we often joke about how if he gets a mustache when hes older itll be because he inherited it from me. Im Mexican and my husband is white. He has a very rough time growing much facial hair.
It took him a year to grow a mustache. He actually shaved it today, and while doing so I asked OMG should I shave mine too?

Andrew Collins: Sobekneferu, The First Female Pharaoh "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"
The cult, magic, reign, and resurrection of the first female
ruler in Egypt
Reveals the achievements of Sobekneferu, the political and
religious issues of her age, the temples and ruins associated with
her, and her continuing impact on ancient Egypt after her reign
Discusses Sobekneferus magical beliefs and practices centered on
the crocodile god Sobek, the hippo goddess Neith, and their
representation as constellations
Examines the modern-day resurrection of Sobekneferu among mystics
and occultists of Victorian London, including her role in Bram
Stokers shocking gothic novel, The Jewel of the Seven Stars
Cleopatra. Nefertiti. Hatshepsut. All of them are ancient Egyptian
female rulers who rose above their predominantly patriarchal
societies to become controllers of a great empire. Missing from
this list, however, is Sobekneferu, ancient Egypts first female
ruler. Why was the reign of this powerful woman all but
forgotten?
Piecing together the lost history of the first female pharaoh,
Andrew Collins presents the first comprehensive biography of
Sobekneferu. Using every text and monument that concerns
Sobekneferu and her time in power, he examines her achievements as
ruler, the political and religious issues of her age, the temples
and ruins associated with her, and her continuing impact on ancient
Egypt after her reign. He explores her relationship with her
brother Amenemhet IV, her sister Neferuptah, and their father
Amenemhet III, regarded as one of the most beloved pharaohs of the
Middle Kingdom. He examines Sobekneferus untimely end, the fate of
her body, and the cult that developed in her name.
Discussing Sobekneferus magical beliefs and practices, Collins
shows how they centered on the crocodile god Sobek, the hippo
goddess Neith, and the circumpolar stars of the night sky in which
they were personified. He also reveals how the setting of the
Crocodile Star (Eltanin), the brightest star in the constellation
of Draco, aligns with Sobekneferus suspected pyramid. Examining the
modern-day resurrection of Sobekneferu among the occultists and
mystics of Victorian London, Collins shows how she is the true
inspiration behind every ancient Egyptian female queen who comes
back to life after her tomb is found--as featured first in Bram
Stokers shocking 1903 novel The Jewel of the Seven Stars and later
in several modern blockbuster movies.
Revealing how Sobekneferu has left a lasting impact on culture and
occulture through the ages despite being nearly erased from
history, Collins shows how her continuing legacy is perhaps,
ultimately, her true resurrection.

Vintage Ephemera Is Given a Second Life With Exquisite Ballpoint Pen Drawings "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
When beginning a drawing, most creatives will naturally seek out a new sheet of paper. UK-based artist Mark Powell, however, finds materials that have lived once or twice before. His series Ephemera features exquisite pen and ink drawings that are rendered on top of vintage postcards, playing cards, and more to fuse the past with the present.
Powell carefully renders each of his subjects, which range from human figures to animals, using a ballpoint pen. These drawings often encompass multiple pieces of ephemera that have been arranged together to create one larger surface. The Ephemera series started when I found an envelope that was sent from the front line in World War I and it has been ongoing since, Powell tells My Modern Met. I find that the unconventional paper tells its own story with the signs of the passage of time upon it much like the faces I draw too. They both suggest a story that isn't told.
While the eye naturally gravitates toward the striking illustration, it is interesting to see the ways in which these drawings interact with their material. A pair of elephants, for example, intertwine trunks across a series of envelopes, while a large bird flies across a diagram of the solar system. From Powell's meticulous linework to the personal touches left on a deck of cards, there are innumerable details to discover in each piece.
You can purchase original art and prints via Powell's online shop, and keep up to date with his latest projects by following his Instagram.

Swirling Strips of Layered Paper Sculptures Explore Lifes Ephemerality "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Strips of paper are transformed into flowering forms through the art of Lyndi Sales. The Cape Town-based artist harnesses these flat materials, paints them, and arranges them in mesmerizing collages that spiral and fan out across the wallmimicking microscopic life, animal textures, and even distant nebulae.
Sales has crafted sculptural installations for over 20 years, usually exploring the theme of death in her work. Initially, this was centered around her father's death in the Helderberg airplane crash of 1987, but over time, it has translated into a broader exploration of life's ephemerality.
I look to nature for inspiration. The overlapping scales on a snake's skin or the way birds' feathers lay upon each other, Sales tells My Modern Met. For color and pattern, I often take my inspiration from visuals I see while in an altered space. Either through meditation, kundalini yoga, breathwork exercises, and plant medicine ceremonies.
When gazing at these large-scale pieces, the eye is immediately drawn to the numerous patterns that the interlocking pieces create. Enhanced by multiple different shades, these strips of paper stretch out like rays of light or blossom into spirals. There are many ways to interpret the designs that they make, which is part of the reason they are so captivating to look at time and again.
Scroll down to see more images of Sales' paper sculptures, and be sure to follow the artist's Instagram to keep up to date with her latest projects and upcoming exhibitions.

How An Ordinals Collection Could Accelerate El Salvadors Bitcoin Progress "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
An official Ordinals collection by El Salvador could accelerate the progress its making with Bitcoin and confer unique benefits on investors.
This is an opinion editorial by Steven Hay, a writer, former trader and art dealer.
Im a long-time Bitcoiner, preparing to travel and hopefully relocate permanently to El Salvador in 2023. Like many Bitcoiners, I wish to be a part of the amazing changes happening in this country. And Id like to share an idea which I strongly believe has the potential to accelerate those changes.
Similar to the volcano bond concept, this idea employs Bitcoin-linked assets to raise funds for the building of Bitcoin City, or any other worthy project. Unlike bonds, however, these relatively-straightforward assets impose no legal or financial obligations upon the nation. They are simply created and then sold on the free market.
My idea revolves around something many of you have heard of: Bitcoin Ordinals. This new protocol, launched in January 2023, allows for the creation of Bitcoin NFTs linked to single satoshis. Known as inscriptions, these special satoshis are bound to data which is permanently embedded within Bitcoins blockchain. This data can take the form of images, text, video, etc.
Mere months after its creation, this new form of digital asset has already received considerable investment, with at least $21 million in volume traded over the six major marketplaces and additional trades conducted over the counter.. Galaxy Research estimates that the Ordinals market will grow to $4.5 billion in total value by 2025. This figure may well prove to be conservative especially if the government of El Salvador becomes an official participant in this space.
Already, renowned luxury goods makers like Bugatti and Asprey are involved in Ordinals. If private companies are expected to achieve millions of dollars in sales in this new market, how much more could a sovereign state achieve? As the Ordinals mark...

A Letter Mailed in 1916 Finally Reached Its Destination "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Better late than never, right?
How about 107 years late?
I bet you didnt see that coming, did you?
Well, neither did a man who lives in London, England named Findlay Glen, who received the letter at his residence in South London and immediately recognized that something seemed off about the letter.
Glen said he noticed the 16 on the postmark so he thought it was 2016, but Glen added, Then we noticed that the stamp was a king rather than a queen, so we felt that it couldnt have been 2016.
The man didnt want to open the letter because tampering with mail is a crime, but when he and his girlfriend figured out how old the letter was, they decided to see what was inside.
Glen took the letter to local historian Stephen Oxford who said the letter was written by a woman named Christabel Mennel, who was on vacation in Bath, England, to her friend Katie, who was married to a prominent stamp dealer named Oswald Marsh.
BONE Surges 8.3% As OKX Amasses 1.9 Million BONE Tokens In Single Day "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
While the crypto market appears to be in decline, Bone Shibaswap (BONE), the Shibaswap ecosystems governance token, has been on the rise. As of this writing, the price of Bone Shibaswap has ballooned to an impressive 8.3% in the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data.
However, a broader look at BONEs market performance indicates an underwhelming run in the past month. The meme token has experienced a 16.8% price drop in the last 30 days.
Without a doubt, the price rise of Bone Shibaswap is reflective of recent market activity. On-chain data from Etherscan.io reveals that OKX, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, has acquired a staggering 1,900,736.16586897 BONE tokens (equivalent to $1,788,547.11 ) in the past 24 hours.
This acquisition, executed via multiple transactions, pushed OKX to 12th place on the list of largest BONE holders. OKX is not the only exchange on this list, as Singapore-based firms Crypto.com and MEXC Global are also members of the exclusive club.
The buying spree kicked off after OKX launched a voting event on Friday, April 21st, inviting users to vote for the meme project they would like to see listed on the exchange. The voting event features five of the most popular meme tokens, including AIDOGE, BONE, BONK, OPTI, and PEPE.
OKX also declared its intention to list the three tokens with the highest number of votes. The voting event will end at exactly 06:00 am UTC on April 24th, 2023. Results are to be announced on the same day at 10:00 am UTC.
If OKX does list BONE on its exchange, it will be the coins biggest exchange listing ever. Of course, as has been exhibited in the past 24 hours, this would have an impact on the value of Bone Shibaswap. Other prominent exchanges to have listed the token include Crypto.com, Gate.io, Bitget, Bing, and BTCEX.
Going by the coins movement in the past, BONE surged to new heights when listed by a crypto exchange. However, it is worth noting that these price increases were short-lived, as is often the case in the market these days.
For example, after the cryptocurrency was listed on Crypto.com in early March, it rallied a 14.8% increase in a few days. By the end of March, the token price had plummeted by a disappointing 30.9%.
According to CoinCodex price prediction, the current sentiment for Bone Shibaswap is bearish, with the token expected to lose 6.99% of its current value......

Cant Be Trusted: A Book Review Review "IndyWatch Feed Health"
A review of my book, Cant Be Trusted, appears in the March 2023 issue of The Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law: JAAPL Cant Be Trusted book review. I encourage everyone to read it.
My book is a memoir written around the denial of my medical certificate required to fly light aircraft for mental health reasons.
Inasmuch as I am critical of forensic psychiatry as practiced, I have been treated fairly by the AAPL and their journal. The reviewer, Kathryn Baselice, MD, was scrupulously correct in mentioning all of the important issues and was very evenhanded. I am not surprised by her minor objections to my writing style.
As she points out, the book can be jarring, alternating between my life in technology and mental health issues. I have training in photonics with a PhD from MIT. Today I design lasers for optical coherence tomography. One audience I am trying to capture is computer nerds. I browse the Slashdot and Hacker News websites. Very often mental health stories are featured between the usual digital fare. Computer professionals are very interested in mental health in my estimation. Programming is one of my earliest interests. I document that in my book, and it is a skill I make great use of in my work today.
Dr. Baselice points out that Dr. Johnson claims that an expert used the second edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-II) to diagnose him with schizophrenia. The author points out that the DSM-II was outdated at the time of his evaluation, thus leading to an erroneous diagnosis. That indeed is my claim. However, her description of this event is a little anodyne to my way of thinking. I also claim that this...
Celer Network (CELR) Soars 11% Amidst General Bearish Trend "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Celer Network (CELR) is currently experiencing a market pump amidst a general crypto fall. In a week in which several assets have bled with significant losses, CELR has repaid investors confidence gaining 10.8% in the last seven days.
According to more data from Coingecko, CELR has gained by 26.3% in the last two weeks representing a far better market performance than market giants Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH), within the same period.
However, it must be said that CELR is a long way from its market price as of this time last year, with a staggering 44.4% decline from its year-to-date value.
That said, much of CELRs price growth in the past week has been driven by a series of announcements by the project, sparking excitement among the user community and increasing traction on the network.
At press time, CELR is trading around $0.0264, having gone up by 3.2% in the last 24 hours. Based on more data from Coingecko, the ERC-20 token has a daily trading volume of $60.67 million and a total market cap of $149.65 million.
For most investors, it is little to no surprise that Celer has managed to stay above the waters during this crypto storm, as the blockchain network has recorded various exciting developments in the last few weeks.
On April 19, Celer Network announced the expansion of its support for the zkSync Network. According to Celers Twitter post, users can now utilize the cBridge, the networks multi-chain cross-layer asset bridge, to bridge ETH and USDC between the zkSync Era network and over 10 other blockchains, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, etc.
The zkSync project is a layer-two scaling solution designed to scale operations on the Ethereum network using zero-knowledge (zk) technology. It is currently one of the nascent and most exciting technologies in the crypto space following the launch of its Alpha Mainnet last month.
In addition to the expansion of its zkSync coverage, Celer Network also unveiled its collaboration with Polygon as one of the initial launch partners of the projects zkEVM upgrade.
The developers team stated that the cBridge would provide support for bridging ETH between Polygon zkEVM and other networks, in...

Bitcoin Price Analysis: Is A Retracement To $25,000 Likely? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Despite the relative performance of altcoins in 2023, Bitcoin has seen a significant 75% bullish rally since the beginning of the year. However, Bitcoins price has been unable to surpass the resistance level of $30,000 for a week, and this has stirred a technical belief that there is a possibility of a retracement streak toward the medium-term support level of $25,000.
The annual upward movement in the price of Bitcoin, fueled by the banking crisis in March, may be hitting a roadblock at the $30,000 resistance level. To assess the underlying dynamics of BTC, we need to look at an extended chart, which provides a longer-term perspective spanning several weeks.
Historically, the bullish reversals in this time frame have shown a well-defined chart structure, with phases of bullish impulses followed by periods of sideways transitions.

The recent bullish reversal in the last quarter of 2022, followed by the rebound from $20,000 that kickstarted the current rally, was preceded by a notable bullish momentum divergence (as indicated by the RSI technical indicator) from the oversold zone.
The RSI indicator has entered the technical overbought zone as BTC approached the $30,000 resistance level. The overall chart pattern resembles that of August 2020, which saw a retracement from $12,000 to $9,500 before the subsequent bull run starting in October 2020.

The Disappearance of Asha Degree, And Other Mysteries That Keep People Up At Night "IndyWatch Feed Arts"

Im not sure whether or not well ever have answers for any or all of these, but I do know that wed collectively be a lot happier if we did.
I love unsolved mysteries but one that always gets me is the murder of Missy Bevers. She was killed in the early morning at a church that she taught yoga at.
Security footage from the church showed the murderer roaming the halls of the church all night but thats not whats weird. Whats weird is that the murderer was dressed head to toe in police riot gear. It is the weirdest and eeriest video footage and is just unsettling.
Theres lots of theories but her murder has never been solved and I believe there hasnt even been a real suspect in the case.
The Alps Murders.
To this day not only is there no suspect but seemingly absolutely no motive to the murders of the Al-Hilli family and a completely unrelated French cyclist. The police dont even know who the target was. The more you look at the case, the more questions there are. The victims were killed in the manner of a professional hit, but using a gun that no professional would use.
The gunman was experienced and calm enough to leave the scene quickly and efficiently, so much so that the cyclist on the scene minutes behind Mollier saw and heard absolutely nothing. The murders though were uncontrolled and carried out in broad daylight where anybody could have chanced upon the scene.
Indeed had Saad not beached his car trying to escape, most of the victims may have survived.
No suspect. No motive. No clear target. Weird mix of professional hit and complete novice. This case baffles me utt...
Oasis Reunion in the Works After Noel Gallagher Finally Venmoes Liam Gallagher the 8 He Owed Him "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
MANCHESTER, England An Oasis 2024 Reunion Tour is currently in the works after Noel Gallagher finally sent a Venmo payment to his brother Liam Gallagher for the 8 hes owed him since 2009, sources close to the brothers confirmed earlier this week.
It was the same old shit with him, man. I owed him a couple shekels for two vodka sodas and he let it blow up into this big huge thing, said the elder Gallagher brother. Hes always trying to be the martyr. Imagine all of the fucking music we could have been making if had just let this slide. I know for a fact that me mum gave him the 8 quid years ago, but the wanker said That doesnt count. He kept her money though, the right prick.
The legendary rift between the two brothers was solidified in 2009 after an argument over a bar tab, but according to Liam, the argument went much deeper than a few measly drinks.
Listen, when we got to the bar me, and Noel both agreed that we would each have our own separate tabs. He looked me in the eye and told me that he would, Liam said. Then when it came time to close out I saw that this bloke put five vodka sodas on my tab. When I confronted him about it he only paid me for three. Arent we brothers? Im supposed to play for tens of thousands of people every night knowing that he owes me for two drinks? Its about so much more than just the two drinks, its about trust. Im happy to put this behind us, but Ill always have both of my eyes on him from now until the day I die
David Waterman, a top Manchester therapist for treatment, was hired by the duos mother Peggy Gallagher in hopes of having her sons finally on good terms.
This was one of the most severe cases of emotional avoidance I have ever seen, said Waterman. First off the session started late because Liam didnt bother to show up, when we finally started the session it was just two hours of complete silence with the two men staring at each other menacingly. I finally suggested that Noel just Venmo Liam the money he owes him. The transfer went through, they shook hands, kissed each other on the cheek, and then left. They both need some serious help .
At press time, the Gallagher brothers were apparently in another argument about guitar strings Noel borrowed from Liam without asking.

Lets just get this one out of the way awhile. I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is a fine album. For a first record it is quite strong and all the other things youre supposed to say about a good band thats still developing. My only real complaint it smells. Like the actual CD that I had as a kid, it was stinky. Greek Orthodox Punk Celebrates Record Store Day Thirteen Days Later "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
NEW YORK Local Greek Orthodox punk Roland Lee admits he regularly misses out on limited edition Record Store Day releases due to the fact he and his fellow practitioners celebrate the occasion 13 days later than most.
Our scene runs on the Julian calendar, said Lee, a self-described Archpunk who has led the Greek Orthodox scene since before you were even fucking born, pal. Which is a thing my Greek friend Julian made up to explain why he wasnt actually behind on rent one month. The whole house kinda ran with it, it grew and grew, and now a bunch of us celebrate Record Store Day two weeks after the rest of the world. It just sucks that last year we missed out on the Wipers reissue, so the only thing I was able to get was a copy of Kirk Hammets solo project, which I never even bothered opening.
Sean Booger Howell, the owner of a local independent record store Boogers Picks, lamented the Greek Orthodox punks and their effect on the store during the spring holiday season.
Record Store Day used to be this big unifying thing, said Howell. Everyone in the scene came by, shot the shit, maybe bought an exclusive reissue or something. Now I gotta hold some of my best stuff for these weirdos or they get pissed, which in turn pisses off everyone else. And its not just Record Store Day that causes problems its all the big holidays. Ive had Orthodox employees showing up absolutely baked on May 3rd claiming thats their 4/20.
Other scenes in the tri-state area have taken notice of the Greek Orthodox punks and are said to be developing their own calendars, number systems and even variations in recording noise albums in suburban basements.
Were super inspired by what theyve done over there, said a member of a nearby scene, granted anonymity due to ongoing inter-scene drama. The Greek Orthodox Punks are groundbreaking the culture hacking, messing with the temporal bedrock of capitalism itself. Were thinking of going even harder in that direction. Maybe well celebrate Record Store Day zero times. I mean, who can afford that shit anyway?
As of press time, Lee began stockpiling nicotine gum to prepare for his biannual 40-day cigarette fast.

Opinion: Its Not Too Late for Kiss To Start Making Good Music "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
I know Kiss gets a pretty bad rep. Yeah, they have legions of fans who probably only like them for being a real-life Saturday morning cartoon show or because theyre suckers for drama, or whatever. But one thing is certain: people dont claim to like Kiss because they have some amazing discography or anything like that.
But I say, its not too late. Its not too late for a band that has been around for 50 years to start writing music they can be proud of! I mean, 5 decades of practice is more than enough time to hone their chops to finally write some bangers. Look at it like this: the last 50 years can sorta be like that of a prize fighters amateur fights. Now its time to start getting into the professional big leagues.
All of the elements are there. Their branding is on point. They have cool make-up and crazy outfits. They have millions of fans and experience playing in arenas. All thats missing is a halfway-decent song.
Lets face it: what Kiss has become is just sad. Between the drama with Ace and Paul, Gene Simmons being Gene Simmons, and not releasing music since 2012, theyve gotten stale. I think Kiss should capitalize on the fact they arent raking in all that cash anymore to focus on writing good stuff. No more crazy distractions.
I would think that if Kiss were to do their 8th farewell tour, they would at least want to have a couple of full-fledged bangers to leave a lasting impression on folks. I just dont think Heavens on Fire is going to really wow the younger generations into the Kiss Army life.
They say age is just a number, and when it comes to 70s rock bands, theres no time like the present for Kiss to shock the world and prove that beyond all the ridiculous signature theatrics, nonsensical band drama, and prerecorded live backing tracks, they can actually write some music to be proud of.

9 Names to Consider Before Naming Your Child Aiden "IndyWatch Feed Satire"
So, youre expectingthats amazing! I just know youre going to be such a great parent and youll love and nurture that perfect little angel. So why the fuck are you going to give him a played-out name like Aiden?
We can trace the current popularity of Aiden back to Sex and The City, though the name has ancient Irish roots. Thats cool and allbut enoughs enough. Playgrounds are chock-a-block with Aidens these days. Here are 9 other names to consider for your beautiful little boy.
Its really cute to give babies old-person names. Besides, you can almost guarantee your child will have a lucrative career as a CPA with a name like Norman.
If youre going to name your kid based on a character from a popular TV show, you could do worse than the mass murderer with a heart of gold from The Last of Us, right? Joel is a tough, rugged name. Can you imagine how much the show would suck if Ellie were running around shouting for Aiden all the time?
Biblical names have been popular for thousands of years. However, people tend to choose safe, boring names like David, John or Paul. Dont be a cowardgo with a deep cut thats bound to make your special little one stand out from the crowd.
How cute would it be to dress your baby Lemmy in a little black hat and shades? You could get a custom pacifier that makes it look like hes smoking a tiny Marlboro Red.
Simply adding the letter R transforms the lame, uninspired name Aiden to Raiden, the cool, lightning badass from Mortal Kombat who slices people in half with his razor-hat.
Okay, I know Varg Vikernes is a horrible racist and murderer, but how cool a name is Varg? You can be sure with a name like that,...
Ethereum (ETH) Drops 11%, Sheds All Gains From Shanghai Rally "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Ethereum, the worlds second-largest cryptocurrency, has seen its recent rally come to a screeching halt as Ethereum (ETH) has erased all of its gains in the wake of the highly anticipated Shanghai upgrade.
While many had high hopes for this upgrade, which promised to improve the networks speed and scalability, the market seems to have reacted negatively to the news.
This sudden drop in price has left investors wondering what the future holds for Ethereum, and whether or not it can recover from this setback.
At the time of writing, the price of Ethereum stands at $1,860.72 according to CoinMarketCap, but the past 24 hours have not been kind to the cryptocurrency, as it has seen a slump of 4.05%.
The past week has been even more unforgiving, with Ethereum experiencing a significant drop of 11.02%. The once high-flying cryptocurrency is now left to wonder what caused this downturn and whether it can regain its vigor in the days and weeks ahead.
In recent days, the cryptocurrency markets have been displaying signs of fragility, largely due to anxieties about persistently high inflation, fluctuations in the stock market, and the looming threat of an economic recession, which have all contributed to dragging prices downward.
Against this backdrop, Ethereum has been experiencing a steady decline since Tuesday, a trend that has been mirrored in the wider cryptocurrency market.
Bitcoin, for instance, has suffered a drop of over 3% in the past 24 hours alone and has fallen by more than 10% from its recent peak above $30,000, currently trading at just around $27,346.
Despite a recent fall, the price of ETH experienced a false breakout of the local support level at $1,896. However, a daily closure far from the $1,900 mark may trigger a bounce back toward the $1,920-$1,930 zone tomorrow.
On a larger time frame, the situation for Ethereum remains bearish, with the bar on the verge of closing below yesterdays low at $1,913.60. If this happens, there is a high likelihood of further decline towards the next significant support level at $1,846, a scenario that may play out until the end of the week.
Looking ahead from a midterm perspective, Ethereums price has retreated to the middle of a wide cha...

Deadly Eye Drop Recall Vison Loss, Eyeball Removal And Complete Vision Loss "IndyWatch Feed Uncanny"
Eyedrops from Ezricare and Delsam Pharma were recalled in February, and heal authorities are continuing to track infections as they investigate the outbreak. Two more deaths and additional cases of vision loss have been linked to the tainted eyedrops with a drug-resistant bacteria.
In the latest government tally, 69 people have been diagnosed with infections from the bacteria, causing three deaths, eight cases of vision loss, and four people have had to go through eye removal surgery.
This outbreal is particuarly worrisome because the bacteria driving it is completely resistant to antibiotics.
The CDC has identified cases in 16 states, including California, New York, Illinois, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Most cases have been linked to four regional clusters and Ezricares drops are the onoy product used by patients in each of those groups.
The recalled drops were manufactured by Global Pharma Healthcare in India, where the bacteria Pseudomona aeruginosa- is commonly linked to outbreaks in hospitals.
BREAKING NEWS BREAKING Just 0.3% of Scientists agree Humanity is causing Climate Change; NOT 97% as falsely spread by the UN "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
You have likely heard that 97% of scientists agree on human-driven climate change. The overwhelming majority of scientists take no view on the question of whether climate change is man-made, for it is beyond our present knowledge to answer.
Only 0.3% of science papers state humans are the cause of climate change. And when surveyed, only 18% of scientists believed that a large amount or all of additional climate change could be averted.
There is no scientific evidence or method that can determine how much of the temperature change since 1900 was caused by humans. We know that temperature has varied greatly over the millennia. We also know that for virtually all of that time, global warming and cooling were driven entirely by natural forces.

The War Waging Against Financial Freedom "IndyWatch Feed Health"
In The Last American Vagabond video above, you can watch Agustn Carstens, general manager for the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), spell out exactly why globalists are promoting central bank digital currencies, or CBDCs, so heavily.
"[With] cash we don't know, for example, who's using a $100 bill today," he says. "We don't know who is using a 1,000-peso bill today. A key difference with the CBDC is that Central Bank will have absolute control on the rules and regulations that will determine the use of that expression of Central Bank liability and also we will have the technology to enforce that."1
The video features an interview with finance guru Catherine Austin Fitts publisher of The Solari Report2 who has warned that CBDCs are part of a plan to end all currencies. If that happens, a slavery system, steeped in the ideologies of transhumanism and technocracy, will be ushered in.
"We're watching events that are within a framework, which is very engineered and planned," Fitts says. "At the root of what's going on today is there is a group of people who are trying to totally centralize control of all financial transactions on the planet 100% using digital technology."3
"It's a very rare moment when a central bank is telling you the truth," Fitts notes, but Carstens' statements did just that, detailing how central banks can enforce rules centrally "because it's no longer your money, it's our money and we can set the rules on how you can use 'our' money," she says.4
CBDCs will rapidly usher in an era of taxation without representation, leading to the end of liberty. By granting complete control of individuals' financial transactions to central bankers, CBDCs allow the government to maintain complete control.
Without financial transaction freedom the ability to transact with whoever you want, for any purpose there will be no freedom, Fitts says. This is a key reason why we need to preserve cash. Right now, there's a war going on between decentralizers, who are trying to preserve financial transaction freedom, and centralizers, who are fighting among themselves over who will be in control of the system.
"And, of course, every effort is being made by the corporate media to turn the rest of us who are trying to fight for transaction freedom to divide and conquer. And so it can be very confusing to watch this if you don't s...
Artificial Sweeteners Are Toxic to Gut Bacteria "IndyWatch Feed Health"
Editors Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published October 16, 2018.
Recent research into the health effects of artificial sweeteners deliver yet another blow to safety claims. The animal study,1,2,3,4,5 published in the journal Molecules, found all artificial sweeteners currently approved and deemed safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cause DNA damage in, and interfere with the normal and healthy activity of gut bacteria. The artificial sweeteners included in this study included:
Artificial sweetener | Brand name(s) |
---|---|
Aspartame | NutraSweet, Spoonful, Canderel, Equal, NatraTaste Blue |
Sucralose | Splenda, Zerocal, Sukrana, SucraPlus, Candys, Cukren and Nevella |
Saccharin | Sweet 'N Low, Sweet Twin, Sugar Twin, Necta Sweet |
Neotame | Newtame |
Advantame | (No brand names) |
Acesulfame potassium-k | Sunnette, Sweet One, ACE, ACE K, Sweet 'N Safe |
As reported by Business Insider,6 the research team concluded that all of these sweeteners "had a toxic, stressing effect, making it difficult for gut microbes to grow and reproduce." While the authors do not directly refer to them as having antibiotic effects, when something is killing bacteria, that's essentially what's happening.
According to the researchers, the effects on your gut health may in turn affect your body's ability to process regular sugar and other carbohydrates. According to this study, the toxic limit for these artificial sweeteners appears to be around 1 milligram per milliliter (mg/mL).
Ariel Kushmaro, Ph.D., professor of microbial biotechnology at Ben-Gurion University and lead author, told Business Insider, "We are not claiming that it's toxic to human beings. We're cla...
Are AI Lawyers Coming for Us? What We Need to Know "IndyWatch Feed Health"
This story is about the implications of the latest developments in legal tech. Before we get to it, I want to ask a question and just leave it there for us to keep it in mind as we plough through the latest wonders of the AI world. The question is, what is point of our existence as human beings on Earth?
Word on the street is that the latest Microsoft-backed AI has passed the universal bar exam, an exam that lawyers in the United States have to pass in order to get licensed to practice law. Not only did it pass it but its score fell in the top 10% of test takers.
The AI software, made by the Microsoft partner OpenAI, is called GPT-4. It is an upgrade from GPT-3.5, which is what the recently famous ChatGPT program is based on. In case you are curious, GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer, which is a computer language model that uses deep learning to produce text.
Deep learning stands roughly for combing through vast amounts of data, algorithmically extracting meaningful characteristics of different types, and then summing them up in a way that makes it look like the computer understands.
This software falls under the definition of generative AI, which is the type of AI that goes beyond analyzing large amounts of data and producing a summary and that is capable of generating its own creative output based on the data is has analyzed.
Per OpenAIs GPT-4 Technical Report, the program was tested on a diverse set of benchmarks, including simulating exams that were originally designed for humans.
Can I please use this opportunity to express my annoyance with the popularization of the hipster use of the word humans instead of people, as if there is ever going to be a point in time when robots grow sentient and start participating in society not as a type of technology at the hands of whoever is in charge but as living beings in their own right?
This is of course never going to happen (although the patent owners may pretend). This is nonsense and fiction. But calling people humans introduces a new of viewing ourselves through externalized mechanical eyes. It is yet another magical trick by the crazies in high chairs to disconnect us from our innate personality and our souls. It also helps the tyrants to bring about robot citizens and give them rights.
The robot citizens may even include financial actors, to justify the fraud! And when the actual people complain about the absurdity of it based on the fact that robots arent actually human, theyll be accused of having a phobia of some sort.
Using humans instead of people when describing us all just makes the trickery a tad easier beca...

Would You Ban A Family Member From Your Home If They Got Frisky In Your Bed? "IndyWatch Feed Arts"
Listen, we all know what grown adult people do in their homes and in hotel rooms with their chosen partners, long-term or otherwisebut that doesnt mean we want to know all about it, right?
Especially when those grown adult people are our family, and definitely especially when theyve been staying in our house.
OP had to travel for work and told her sister she could stay at her house to get out of the dorms and to keep an eye on things.
I (28M) had to travel overseas for a couple weeks for work related reasons. My sisters (19F) college is nearby, and she offered to feed my cats and water my plants while I was gone.
I said sure thanks, and told her she was welcome to stay there while I was gone, since she lives in a dorm.
Everything went fine, but when OP arrived home she found her sheets in the wash.
Instead of just saying I wanted to clean them for you like a normal human being, the sister informed her it was because she and her boyfriend were using them while OP was away.
Anyway the day I got home, my sister was there with her boyfriend. That was fine, hes always seemed like a cool guy, but one thing I noticed was that my sheets were still in my washer.
I didnt think much of it, I just assumed my sister waited to wash them, since she was using my bed while she was there.
But she tells me, sorry, my boyfriend and I were using the bed last night.
OP got upset, the sister called her a prude, OP tossed her out, and now the latter is wondering whether or not she overreacted.
That grossed me out. I dont think Im being unreasonable to not want people screwing in my bed. My sister told me to relax, and said I was being a prude American (her boyfriend is from Ireland).
She said that we (meaning Americans) stigmatize sex, and that she washed the...

China Is Fast Losing Money: Their Bitcoin Stash Just Fell By $388 Million "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
When Bitcoin prices fell from $31,000 to below $29,000, the total value of BTC held by China fell by over $388 million to around $5,4 billion.
Bitcoin is trading below $28,500 and looks likely to edge even lower, considering the formation in the daily chart. With every tick lower, China and other countries, including Ukraine and Georgia, are losing money.
The loss could even be bigger for the Chinese considering their big stash of BTC, which translates to around 0.924% of the total fixed supply of 21 million, according to Bitcoin Treasuries data.
Records show that China holds 194,000 BTC, 833,000 ETH, and a variety of other unnamed cryptocurrencies. These digital assets were confiscated from the PlusToken scam in 2019 and were worth over $3 billion.
FUN FACT: Government of China is a crypto whale.
Chinese authorities seized 194k BTC, 833k ETH, and others from the PlusToken scam in 2019. They forfeited these $6 billion-worth assets to the national treasury.

According to reports, these assets were tied to the countrys national treasury. Still, some funds associated with the scam are reportedly being regularly sent to mixers and liquidated at spot rates, impacting prices.
However, whether the Chinese government still holds these assets remain unknown. There is no official Bitcoin address to verify the status of these coins.
PlusToken Scam was a global Ponzi scheme targeting Chinese and South Korean investors. It started in April 2018, taking advantage of unsuspecting people who thought they could make quick money from an investment opportunity.
All users had to pay for registration using cryptocurrencies, mainly BTC, before investing. Perpetrators said they were developing cryptocurrency products.

Intuitive Astrology: Pluto Retrograde 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth. Known as the Lord of the Underworld, Plutos retrograde hits us on a psychic level, working on the deeper layers of our being.
Beginning on May 1st, 2023, the Lord of the Underworld will enter his own Underworld, emerging on October 10, 2023, with deeper insights and wisdom.
Pluto Retrograde guides us to look over the transformations of the past, what has fallen away, what has risen, and what is still lingering in the shadows.
Pluto enters its retrograde journey in the sign of Aquarius. This is the first retrograde Pluto has made in Aquarius in our lifetime, making it extra significant.
Pluto will only remain retrograde in Aquarius until June 11, when it will backtrack into Capricorn, so this is a rare window to dig deeper into the Pluto-Aquarius themes.
Plutos entrance into Aquarius began a powerful and new cycle. Some even feel it is the beginning of our transition into the Age of Aquarius.
Pluto in Aquarius is said to bring more power to technology, a greater focus on community and humanitarianism, and spiritual advancement.
Every element of what Pluto brings has a light side and a dark side. Every element of what Pluto brings is set to create some deaths, some rebirths, and deep transformations.
Pluto is the process of everything burning and the rise that comes when the ashes are ready to be transformed.
During a Pluto Retrograde, we feel guided to reflect on the cycles of death and rebirth in our own lives.
There are two time periods we may find ourselves drawn to look at. The first is from March 23, 2023. What transformations have unfolded since this time? How have we changed and evolved? How have we rebirthed ourselves?
The next period to look back over is since October 8, 2022. This was the last day that Pluto was in Retrograde. Since this date, how has your life transformed? What death and rebirths have taken place? What transformations have you moved through?
Pluto is subtle in its approach, so sometimes it is hard to glean how it has been moving through our lives. Even posing these questions may not give us the clarity we need to understand the journey of this planet.
Pluto works on the deeper layers, and its really only when its finished its journey in a zodiac sign that we can truly understand the wisdom, lessons, and transformations it was destined to bring.
Pluto is nearing the end of its journey in Capricorn, but as this retrograde shows, we still have some work to do as Pluto will continu...

XRP Correction Continues: Elliott Waves Theory Predicts Wave 2 At $0.38 "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Since reaching its yearly high of $0.5842 on March 29th, XRP has experienced a significant price drop. The token has lost its bullish momentum and failed to breach higher levels, disappointing investors who were optimistic about the uptrend of one of the largest cryptocurrencies in the market.
It is worth noting that XRPs recent price drop is part of a wider market correction affecting the entire cryptocurrency market. Despite this, trader and crypto analyst Dark Defender believes that there is still further correction ahead for XRP.
On April 1st, Dark Defender made a bold prediction for the price of XRP based on Elliott Waves theory. According to Dark Defender, the token completed its first wave (W1) at around $0.59 and is expected to enter a second wave (W2) that will find support between $0.48 and $0.38.
As of now, there have been no changes to Dark Defenders prediction, and XRP remains in correction unless it breaks its resistance level of $0.59 and stays above it for three consecutive days. Dark Defender has provided a list of support levels for XRP, including $0.4812, $0.45544, $0.42044, and $0.38813. The analyst believes that XRP will finish this last correction at one of these levels before targeting the $3 mark.
Furthermore, the analyst has provided a bullish prediction for XRPs future, stating that the third wave (W3) of this structure is expected to reach between $2 and $3.47 by the end of this year. However, this wave 3 above $1.33 will be the predecessor of the Grand Wave 3. In scenario 2, Dark Defender predicts that XRP will continue to rise in value.
As of this writing, XRP is currently trading at $0.4582, which represents a drop of over 2.6% in the last 24 hours. On wider time frames, the token has recorded significant drops of 11% and 9.2% in the seven and fourteen-day time frames, respectively. This means that if Dark Defenders prediction is correct, XRP may still have plenty of downtrends to experience, potentially reaching the lower lows of March 21st at $0.3...

...Time To Pay Attention: Bitcoin Reaches Logical Level "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Bitcoin price is experiencing one of its more significant corrections since the trend began to change directions.
According to the creator of the Bollinger Bands, its once again time to pay attention this time because BTCUSD has pulled back to a logical level.
Bitcoin reached almost double from current bear market lows, nearly convincing the crypto community a new bullish trend had begun. With BTCUSD now down more than 10% from local highs, fear is already back on the air in a major way.
Bulls are now all but silent, after just recently declaring the bull market has returned. Bears are already celebrating the correction as continuation of the bearish trend getting underway.
More tactical technicians, like John Bollinger, simply believe its time to pay attention, and havent yet taken a side. The quote has become a bit of a catchphrase for the creator of the Bollinger Bands. But what exactly is he talking about?
The Bollinger Bands are a volatility measuring tool. The tools creator recently pointed out an expansion after a lengthy phase or narrowing. This behavior is referred to as a squeeze and suggests an uptick in volatility is ahead. Which is precisely what we are witnessing now.
Volatility is the measure of price dispersion across a timeframe, and after very little movement, BTCUSD is like a rollercoaster once again. Ups and downs are par for the course.
The Bollinger Bands are made up of a 20-period simple moving average (SMA), to where price pulled back to and has now broken below. The upper and lower bands are set at two standard deviations of the SMA.
The next logical level to look for support would be the lower band, located at around $27,000. Once Bitcoin hits the level it could continue downward with strength or snap back to the top of the band.

Tornado Cash Suffers 13% Bear Hit, Will Parole Save Price? "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
Tornado Cash token (TORN) is trading on a negative 13% in todays trade session, canceling its previous days gains and rally, which saw the token rise close to the $12 mark. Coinmarketcap data reveals the token to be trading at $8.77 at the time of writing, a significant drop from where it was in price yesterday.
The TORN token and its decentralized mixing service platform became controversial when its developer, Alexey Pertev, was arrested mid-last year allegedly for money laundering. However, news about the possible jail release of Alexey circulated the industry yesterday, April 20, and created a rally for the TORN token.
According to a recent report, the developer of the TORN token, Alexey Pertev, is expected to be released on April 26, 2023, after spending nine months in detention without trial.
The news of his potential release came yesterday when the crypto markets were declining. However, the Tornado Cash token reacted to the news of Alexeys release and defied market conditions by displaying bullish price action.
While the rally drew investors attention, the token could not continue its upward movements today despite positive price speculations by crypto experts and analysts.
Alexey Pertev, who is set to be released next Wednesday, will await trial from his home as ruled by a court in the Netherlands.
Upon his release, electronic monitoring devices such as an ankle bracelet will be installed on him and other monitoring devices in his home, according to the report.
At the time of writing, the TORN token is currently ranked among the top 3 losers in the cryptocurrency market. Alexey Pertevs release date is approaching, and we may witness Tornado Cash reacting in price as it did with the news about his release.

Were currently isolating all freshly laid egg sacs and tagging them with the date so that we know exactly how old the embryos are. This week I started scanning all the adult containers and setting aside those who had produced an egg sac.
It started out well: one on Sunday, one on Tuesday, one on Thursday, and Im thinking this is perfect a fresh batch of 30+ embryos every other day is what we can handle easily. Then then this morning, Friday, I come in and5 new egg sacs for 21 April.
Then I realizeThursday is quarter taps night at the Met Lounge downtown. Have they been sneaking out for a wild party night, and then coming back to the lab all primed for reproduction? Thats the only rational explanation.
I could be concerned that Im going to be in another situation where the lab is drowning in more spiders than we know what to do with, but were about to switch paradigms a little bit. Next week we start plunking lots of embryos into fixative, then the week after we start doing embryo dissections and staining with propidium iodide. None of these spiders are going to live to adulthood. Sorry.
North Carolina House Introduces Bill That Would Prohibit Payment To The State In Bitcoin "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
House Bill 690, No Cryptocurrency Payments to State, would stop citizens of North Carolina from paying the state using bitcoin.
The General Assembly of North Carolina has introduced a bill that would ban the usage of bitcoin as payment to the state or state agencies.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the original intent of the introduction of the bill was to prevent the usage of CBDCs in the state however, the wording in the bill encompasses cryptocurrencies and bitcoin instead of CBDCs, and appears to be a direct anti-bitcoin and cryptocurrency usage bill.
The
bill, which carries the short title of No Cryptocurrencies
Payments to State, and is sponsored by House Representatives
Warren
and Brody, provides
two definitions.
It defines cryptocurrency as, digital or virtual currency that
relies on cryptography to effect transfers and a decentralized
network to record transactions, and a state agency as any
institution, bureau, board, commission, officer or political
subdivision of the State.
The bill then proclaims that no State agency shall accept a payment using cryptocurrency, and that the act is effective when it becomes law.
Although short, the bill would be a step in the wrong direction
for the state, which just recently saw other legislation pushed
forward
to halt bitcoin mining operations in the county encompassing
the city of Asheville.
The source familiar with the matter stated that it is likely that
this bill will be contested and that efforts to educate legislators
will likely take place.

If your date seems to be the type that likes to dish that hot goss about two strangers minding their own business in steamy settings like public airports, be sure to work this fantastic Burnham cover into your conversation.
If you happen to be a drummer and somehow find yourself with enough spare time or charm to date anybody, you already have the perfect excuse to spring this one. Thanks to lines like you said its too much shit to carry, youll be provided with the opportunity to mention your Phoebe phandom as well as your questionable instrument choice. You might be thinking that youll lose points by bringing up one of her most popular songs, but esoteric doesnt always equal intriguing. Chances are, your date will love the fact that you arent too cool for one of Bridgers top five tracks on Spotify.
boygenius is the first and only project that granted Bridgers the opportunity to work with equally talented songwriters. Having the knowledge of this supergroup is not only mandatory for your eardrums, but is essential to mention if you dont want your date to think youre a total fucking dud. Bringing this song up will almost certainly lead to a conversation about how much of a total piece of shit singer/songwriter Ryan Adams is. United Nations Climate change quotes not often heard in media "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself. Club of Rome, premier environmental think-tank, consultants to the United Nations.
We need to get some broad based support, to capture the publics imagination So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest. Prof. Stephen Schneider, Stanford Professor of Climatology, lead author of many IPCC reports.
Weve got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy. Timothy Wirth, president of the UN Foundation.
No matter if the science of global warming is all phony. climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world. Christine Stewart, former Canadian Minister of the Environment
The data doesnt matter. Were not basing our recommendations on the data. Were basing them on the climate models. Professor Chris Folland, Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research.
The models are convenient fictions that provide something very useful. Dr David Frame, climate modeler, Oxford University.

Warning Over Antidepressants as Top Experts Say They May Raise Risk of Suicide "IndyWatch Feed Health"
From The Daily Mail: Antidepressants can raise the risk of suicide, researchers have warned today. The powerful drugs taken by millions can even be the means of death among patients battling the mental disorder, experts said today.
Academics at the University of East London examined almost 8,000 inquests over the last two decades which mentioned the drugs. Around half were definitively ruled to be suicides, demonstrating antidepressants clearly did not work for thousands of Brits. One in eight deaths involved an overdose of antidepressants themselves, showing they can give the mechanism for killing oneself, according to lead author Dr. John Read. Psychiatrists said the findings do nothing to tackle concerns that depression treatments may not be having the intended effect on suicide outcomes. It comes after a landmark study last year called into question societys ever-growing reliance on drugs like Prozac.

Fluoridation Weekly Review #22 "IndyWatch Feed Health"
The Common Council in Oneida, NY voted unanimously at their March 7th meeting not to study the possibility of introducing fluoridation chemicals to their water system.
The Citys Water Board wanted approval to apply for a state grant to study the economic and technical feasibility of starting fluoridation, but councilors noted that residents had twice previously voted against the policy, overwhelmingly.
We didnt want to spend money and time to look at this for a third time, when we know residents are opposed, Councillor Tom Simchik said. Even though it would be a state-funded study, its still taxpayer money so why waste it? he said, according to a March 9 report in the Daily Sentinel.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has announced that 69 community water systems have received the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions (CDC) Water Fluoridation Quality Award, but this represents less than 5 percent of all the water systems in the state.

Is The Final Shakeout Moment Coming For Bitcoin? Expert Weighs In "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"
In January of this year, Bitcoin broke above its 200-day MA for the first time since the end of 2021. This was a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency, as it had not seen such a signal in over a year. This breakout was a clear indication of Bitcoins bullish momentum and its potential for further growth in the future.
Additionally, Bitcoin retested the 200-day moving average in March and remained well above it, demonstrating its robust behavior. However, the leading cryptocurrency is approaching a lower-level retest at $28,000. Whether Bitcoin will withstand further price decline and continue its bullish trend or if a final shakeout is imminent.
Recently, there has been speculation that Bitcoins price might be poised for a significant rally as spring arrives. However, the situation is not quite simple as with many things in the crypto world.
According to the expert in the cryptocurrency industry, Mr. Ben Lily, the current halving cycle is an important factor to consider when evaluating Bitcoins price movements. When BTC comes off halving cycle lows, it commonly does not immediately clear the 200-day moving average (MA) and stays above it.
Instead, it tends to return below the 200-day MA before ultimately moving on to form all-time highs. This pattern can be observed in the chart below, which shows the 200-day MA (represented by the dark red line) and the orange circles, which indicate when the price dipped below the 200-day MA.
Furthermore, Lily argues that nothing suggests that the market should expect anything different this time. He believes a catalyst coming this summer will coincide with Bitcoins price dipping below the 200-day MA.

The synergies present in the partnership demonstrate how integrations can bring bitcoin investing to entirely new audiences.
Through a partnership with exchange eToro, Twitter recently added the ability for users to invest into assets with $Cashtags, which also expanded the number of financial assets that users can see real-time prices for when using the feature. The partnership covered $Cashtags representing a wide range of instruments on the eToro platform, including bitcoin. Users can now click through to the eToro platform to see more information on the asset and have the option to invest. The $Cashtags feature has seen widespread adoption with reportedly more than 420 million searches for $Cashtags since the start of the year. $BTC (bitcoin) ranked in the top five most-searched for $Cashtags.
In an interview with a spokesperson for eToro, when asked about
the vision and goal behind this partnership, they stated that the
goal of the partnership is to help people feel comfortable taking
ownership of their financial futures by increasing engagement with
and the accessibility of financial news and education.
Twitter has become a crucial part of the retail investing community
its where millions of ordinary investors go every day to access

Keeping in mind the goal of providing access to financial
information and education, we hope were able to introduce investors

demographic, who typically have a longer investing timeline,
similar to the user makeup of eToro's platform.
When asked about further integration with Twitter and bitcoin
acceptance for Twitter Blue, eToros spokesperson did not provide
any specifics but mentioned that they are always looking for ways
to innovate and develop new products and partnerships. They
confirmed that in partnership with Twitter, they hope to introduce
more educational resources about bitcoin and other financial assets
to their users through this partnership, but for now, eToro is
focused on making the $Cashtags partnership a success.
eToros spokesperson said that the company believes that the future
of investing is social investing and fostering dialogue in large

"Starvation as a Path to Jesus": Kenyan Pastor Arrested After Followers Die "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
Authorities in Kenya found 15 thin and malnourished followers of a Kenyan church on the property of the organizations pastor. Four of these 15 devotees died after the group was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to Kenyan police, investigators received tips from informants about more than a dozen Good News International Church followers starving themselves to death after their pastor, Paul Makenzi, told them it was a way for them to meet Jesus Christ.
But was he wrong?

When authorities rescued the devotees, most were too weak to walk or talk to the officers who found them. On April 14th, Makenzi surrendered to the Kenyan police in the southeastern town of Malindi.
It wouldnt be the first time the pastor would be in trouble with authorities. Last month, Makenzi was charged with the deaths of two children whose parents were members of his church. Makenzi pleaded not guilty to the case and was released on bond while the proceedings continued.

Crying Virgin Mary Statue Exposed as Fraud, Italian Woman Flees In Response "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
An Italian woman given the moniker The Saint mysteriously left a lakeside town near Rome after a private investigator opened a judicial investigation against her after claiming that the Virgin Mary statue she brought shed tears of blood.
The Saint leaves Italian town after case opened into statues tears of blood https://t.co/L43YZZaXOi
The Guardian (@guardian) April 11, 2023
Originally from Sicily, Maria Giuseppe Scarpulla and her husband left the town of Trevignano Romano around two weeks ago after an investigator allegedly found the blood stains on the Virgin Mary statue she brought from Bosnia came from pigs blood.
The strange story began in 2016 when Scarpulla, known to her followers as Gisella Cardia, purchased the Virgin Mary statue at a Catholic pilgrimage site in Medjugorje, Bosnia. After returning to Italy, Scarpulla claimed the Madonna statue was weeping tears of blood and communicating messages to her.
Lol, imagine believing this
All.Hail.Lord.Revan. (@AllRevan) April 11, 2023
The Virgin Mary statue was then enclosed in a glass case and placed in a park overlooking Lake Bracciano. Every third day of each month, hundreds of devotees would flock to Trevignano Romano to pray before the statue and receive divine messages from Scarpulla. Many of these pilgrims were searching for cures for their illnesses.
Being accused of bankruptcy fraud in the past, Scarpulla created a foundation where she collected donations. She claimed the donations would go to setting up a center for sick children.
With locals complaining over the monthly surge of devotees and an area in the park reportedly purchased with the collected donations, the Virgin Mary statue generated considerable interest from the media. This attention pushed the towns local bishop, Marco Salvi, to announce last March that the church would investigate the phenomenon surrounding the blood-weeping Madonna statue.

Waking From the Nightmare: Is Recovery From Akathisia Possible? "IndyWatch Feed Health"
Is recovery from akathisia possible? Seven years ago, my answer to this question would have been no because I still had a blind belief in the medical system despite being utterly betrayed by it. The medical professionals with whom I had been working had told me that once someones conditions (meaning the drug-induced movement disorders Id developed) had deteriorated to the level mine had, the damage was permanent, and full recovery was unlikely.
That sentiment was reflected in the piece I wrote for Mad in America four years ago. Id made the short film about akathisia, How Bad Can Good Be?, from a hopeless state of mind. My hopelessness seemed reasonable at the time because I was told it was hopeless. Everything I read, everywhere I searched, everyone with whom I spoke either reinforced that narrative or had no hope to offer because they claimed theyd never seen anyone who had been so damaged by medications. In fact, my neuropsychologist called me the Lucy of Akathisia. As if I didnt feel isolated and freakish enough.
But what was there to feel hopeful about? I had been broken by a system Id been taught to trust with my actual life, and in turn, that system blamed what it could on me, the patient, while shirking any responsibility for what had happened to me with the callous disregard of a sociopath.
For those who havent read my first article, Ill summarize briefl...
Tech Industry or Caste System? Legal Case Sheds Light on Discrimination "IndyWatch Feed Spiritual"
Almost three years after a Dalit engineer in California filed a case against Cisco and his two supervisors for caste discrimination, the states Civil Rights Department voluntarily dismissed the case against the two Cisco engineers but decided to keep the lawsuit against the tech giant.
Case against Cisco engineers alleging caste discrimination dismissed but probe continues | WRAL TechWire https://t.co/QOxAl0p2Co
WRAL NEWS in NC (@WRAL) April 11, 2023
The action comes as awareness of caste discrimination increases in the United States. Last February, Seattle became the first-ever city in the US to outlaw caste-based discrimination.
California also made history when state Senator Aisha Wahab introduced a law prohibiting caste discrimination. If passed, it would be the first state in the US to ban caste discrimination.
Sundar Iyer and Ramana Kompella, the two higher-caste Cisco engineers involved in the case, allegedly discriminated against and harassed an employee because of caste, a division based on birth and descent.
The Dalit engineer who filed the lawsuit in July 2020 recalled how he received less pay and fewer opportunities and how the defendants retaliated against him when he called out the unlawful practices, contrary to the traditional order between the Dalit and higher castes in the company.
The lawsuit reminded a Dalit techie I spoke to, of all the cases of caste discrimination he had faced over 20 years in the US. I never documented these instances, because I never thought caste discrimination would be taken seriously, he says.
Anahita Mukherji (@Newspaperwalli) July 9, 2020
The lawsuit also stated that the Dalit engineer worked with a team in Ciscos San Jose headquarters with Indians who immigrated to the US as adults, and all belonged to higher castes.
Last week, the lawsuit was scrapped upon the Santa Clara Superior County Court orders. The employee who filed the lawsuit belonged to the Dalit community, located at the bottom-most part of the Indian caste s...
